James Taylor Construction did a great job replacing my old roof roof and installing the new gutter with gutter guards. Before giving me an estimate, they insisted on meeting with me at my house to talk thru the details. The guys who did the work were very polite and cleaned up behind themselves. They were diligent in finding all of the old nails from the old roof. Since my roof was so steep they insisted in hand nailing all of the shingles in lieu of using a nail gun. I think this made for a better installation. The top floor of my house is about 2000 sq.ft and they did the front removal in replacement the first day, and the back removal and replacement the second day. I would definitely use them again, and recommend them to my friends.

I simply wanted and estimate to have a new roof put on my house. I called Ed. Woody and left a message asking him to call me for the estimate. Waited 3 days, no return call. Called again and left the same message asking for an estimate. Still no return call 5 days later. Evidently, they have more business than they can keep up with being an Angie's list "A" rated roofer.

I met with the Winston-Salem local representative, Bryan Sepich. He was prompt in his estimate, and was willing to work with us when we had to scale back our project due to budgetary constraints. He arranged for a local carpenter to build the necessary framework for the new roof, then came in to do the actual roof, guttering, soffits and tidy up where the roof hit my siding. I found Bryan to extremely quality conscious, and he went as far as sending the siding person back by my house after he noticed something that wasn't up to his standards during his post-job lookover. I'm going to have them do my house and garage in the fall.

There were a few issues with the service. Specifically, it took quite a long time to come out and do the install, they didn't do so well at cleaning up after themselves, and they had to charge a slightly higher price for the work since the installation had to be done differently than what was mentioned in the deal.

Bryan Sepich displayed the most honesty and integrity I've seen in a long time. He came out and checked my roof and said I didn't need one.

Bryan met with me before providing an estimate. My house roof has several steep pitches, making the roofing of it a bit more difficult than a standard roof. I also needed a flue removed. Bryan did a good job of anticipating issues and the roofing went very smoothly. Bryan was there the day after the roofing was done and made sure that all my questions were answered and did a few additional things that I wanted done. My house was kind of expensive to roof, but the price was very fair given what was involved with this project. I added the garage after they started on the house, and they came back in just a few days and did it in one day.

Bryan and his crew were great. They got the job done in the stated time frame. The roof looks wonderful and there are no leaks!

they came on time, installed exactly how i wanted them done and left before i could give them a tip! they did an excellent job and i totally recommend them.

Went throughout house and applied sealant to windows, also sealing tape on all the exterior doors. The guys were very nice and did a good job, only thing is some doors were very hard to close after they put the cushy tape on. I would use them again.

We were extremely happy with the job they did. They not only came in at a great price (thanks in part to an Angie's list Big deal) but were professional, easy to work with, on time, and cleaned up after themselves very well. Overall it was a fabulous job. We worked with Ed Woody and I was impressed enough that I have recommended them to several friends and also had them do some repairs on a home we were selling. I also plan to have them back to install gutters and possible address a flat roof section at a future date. Just sorry I didn't write this review much earlier. It has been two years and we have had absolutely no problems with our roof and it looks great.

They found nails and cleaned up when finished. I was surprised when the price was a little more than I paid for voucher for 2000 sq. ft.. but I had forgotten that a roof is bigger when you flatten it out. Oops! I like my new roof and like there are no more leaks.

they worked long hours in 90 degree heat,never heard a complaint, they even sing while they work . they did a great job,the color and everything is perfect.they picked up every scrap of paper ,did 3 sweeps of the yard to get every nail,the boss came by a few days later for an inspection,these guys are wonderful. the folks that did the spouts did a great job also.The whole job was finished in 2 and a half days,I had dreaded this for a year,bad memories from a roof job years ago in another state.Flat tires crushed shrubs and more, I highly recommend this company ,so glad I joined Angies list for a good roofer,I will answer any questions you have ,they get A plus

James Taylor is excellent....a man of his word....He was punctual and I appreciated his assessment of the guttering situation at my home.

Mr. Taylor came out himself and was very nice and gave me his expert opinion and was very helpful.

I honestly don't have any detail to talk about that was not done as promised and expected. The price paid and agreed to was the Angie's List special plus around $989 more for extra square footage. One item that had me concerned before the work was done was that my fancy gutter system not be damaged or made useless. It was carefully dealt with as the roof was installed.

We were very impressed with James Taylor and his associates. From the beginning of the estimate process to the end of the job, they were professional in every way. We were told exactly what to expect and the estimate included all of the work they would do, what we needed to do to prepare for the day of the job, and a copy of their license. We were given a target date for the job and were informed at every step when there were weather delays. They helped us select a color that would blend with the color of the house. On the actual work day, the crew of 6 or 8 workers arrived and completed the job on our 2400 sf house in one day. They took care to cover all our plants, decks, and area around the house. At the end, they completely cleaned up the area. We hardly knew they had been there..except for a beautiful new roof. We highly recommend them for any roofing work you need done. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent job. Did in one day, leveled and cleaned up debris on the ground from old gutters.

My home is less than two thousand square foot, this roofer kept telling me my roof is larger than what I know it to be. I only signed up for this service because of the Angie's list big deal. After I signed up I got charged an amount that was higher than the usual amout for the service. I cannot afford to pay over two thousand dollars more than the price he offered on the Angie's list big deal.

Met with Bryan from James Taylor Construction and was very impressed with him. He explained everything in detail and all the options available for the new roof. He did not pressure us to upgrade to more expensive shingles and the job was completed quickly and the new roof looks awesome. Would highly recommend James Taylor Construction and we woud use them again in the future for other jobs around the house.

I was not able to use the deal. I spoke to Eddie and he was very professional and friendly. He is fairly responsive to emails. He is actually working on a different project for me.

They were punctual and came prepared. They started and finished in one day. They cleaned all the debris from the construction. Bryan was great to work with.

It took more than 1 week to receive a response after I left a message. They left a voice mail for me and I responded within several hours. They never called back.

Provider did an excellent job. For the quoted "special deal" price, he actually offered to do an additional short section along an adjacent wall that needed new gutters that we could not have afforded at the time. This was above and beyond and we appreciated his generosity. When we are able to consider replacing more guttering around our house, we will certainly consider them!

There was a little delay in them coming out, and part of it was my fault, because I had to go on a trip. Since I can't go out and look at the gutters, as far as I know, they did a good job.
