Description of Work: Removed all air duct insulation (attic and crawl space); cleaned, sealed and re-insulated all ducts; removed all crawl-space insulation; removed mold, cleaned/sealed floor/joists, installed new insulation;sealed crawl space from ground and outside; added fresh air supply to HVAC system and supply air to crawl space; sealed and added new insulation to attic. House dust and odors have been eliminated, and cooling costs for the 3 HVAC systems have been cut in half. IES provided a significant credit for finishing the job sooner than anticipated. Work crew was very responsive. IES staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Description of Work: I pretty much paid this company to come out and give me a quote for outlandish services. I emailed them back and questioned what they did other than walk around and look. No tests were run to check my air quality or efficiency. They returned and did an air quality test and found heavy levels.

Description of Work: Crawl space under house was moldy, with mushrooms growing. House always smelled musty and it was affecting allergies. In less than a day the crew cleaned and sealed the crawl space, installed fresh air intake and left a spotless jobs site. No hint of musty smell in the house. Should have done it a long time ago.

+ -1 moreAgain, fantastic. Steve, Miguel, and team did an outstanding professional job. They actually saved me from having a fire hazard, as there was a hole in the line to the outside, and lint was being blown into the crawl space, and I didn't know it.
Description of Work: IES cleaned the dryer vent and line, and installed a water dam barrier to prevent debris and water from getting in the outside vent.

Fantastic. I called Steve to have him come assess mold and water discovered in our crawlspace earlier this year when the gas co. had to fix a gas line under the house. Made an appt. for an inspection. It was a half-hour past the appt. time so I called Steve and I guess he'd marked down our appt. on the wrong day, but he came out right away and waived his usual $150 inspection fee because he was late. He gave us 2 estimates by email within a day along with pictures he'd taken, one for a "band-aid" repair and the other for full remediation, which he recommended if we planned to stay in the house for a few years, which we do. He gave us a credit incentive for booking the job within 7 days of the inspection and completion within 30 and by not paying by credit card. We decided to go with the full remediation because the crawlspace was disgusting and he said it was one of the worst he'd ever seen, which we knew already. He then sent a confirmation email. I had noted on my calendar to call him about a week before they were to start to talk over some details, but he called me first for the same reason. The crew was great; very professional, polite, and they did not leave one speck of trash behind. After they finished you could not tell anyone had been at our house and that a ton of rotten insulation and other disgusting debris had made its way across our yard into their truck.
Description of Work: Removed water/fungal affected items from crawlspace: floor joist insulation and ground moisture barrier. Removed crawlspace fungal growth by HEPA vacuuming and brushing. Wet wiped exterior of air ducts. Applied anti-mold coating (CleanSeal) to wood surfaces, which has a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. Installed moisture barrier to entire crawlspace scaled to all support columns and seams. Sealed crawlspace perimeter wall. Installed foil-faced insulation to perimeter. Installed door stop framing, insulation, gasket and double latch to crawlspace access door. Installed band joist insulation. Installed runner from access door into drawlspace adding padding and protection to moisture barrier on entry and to the furnace (resists water, mold, insects, fire). Installed crawlspace supply vent with backflow damper and Filtered Fresh Air Ventilation System. Replaced main return air duct which was rusted, laying on the ground, and full of dirt. Cleaned inside air ducts and sprayed them with mold and rust resistant paint. Cleaned air handler unit. Repaired 2 small plumbing leaks found during remediation (with our pre-approval).

+ -1 moreUnbelievable! We're actually using the work as a selling point for our home. You could live in our crawl. Attention to detail, professionalism and cleanup was top-notch.
Description of Work: Examined crawlspace for water damage and signs of mold. Didn't find any mold but found 2 disconnected drainage pipes in the crawlspace and three downspouts not connected around the houses exterior. Provided detailed estimate, including pictures of problem areas. Dug a trench connecting three exterior downspouts, connected drainpipes in crawlspace to expedite removal of water and installed vapor barrier in crawlspace. The vapor barrier will prevent any mold growth, improve air quality in the house and improve efficiency of HVAC system.
