Five Star Painting did a wonderful and professional job painting the interior of our home.

It was easy and fast to book a quote, alter a quote, and schedule service. The company is well organized, easy to communicate, family friendly and the workmanship was top notch. I had my ceilings painted throughout my new townhome. The team arrived on time wearing face masks or coverings. The paint lines were straight (even with my uneven walls and corners) and no mess was left behind. I am happy that I hired Five Stars.

This was our first time getting out house professionally painted and we are so very pleased with the job that Five Star Painting performed. To begin with everyone was very professional. They came out and measured and then quoted us by email later that day. The pricing was spectacular and well under the other 3 companies from which we received quotes. They left a folder that had all of the information that we needed in one spot. Anyone that has undertaken any renovations will understand how important staying organized is, so that was a nice touch. It advised of everything to expect from beginning to end. We met Taylor and Robin the morning our project began and they introduced, Ellison and Julio, our painters. Everyone was amazing and immediately set us at ease. Over the next 4 days we barely knew they were there. We honestly cannot express our satisfaction enough. Our walls look fabulous! Five Star Painting was great! Robin and his team (estimators and the paint crew) were very responsive. The home we were moving into had dark grey entry, living and dining rooms. We needed our job completed same week so that we could move into the home and not have to worry about having furniture in the way to paint afterward. Robin was able to flex his crew (Jose, Geraldo, Miguel) to our schedule needs. The crew was professional and ensured we were happy with the work as it was completed. Would recommend their company and will definitely use them again for another interior paint project!

Five Star painted the main interior space of our house including white ceiling, almost all trim and doors and the walls. Great quality paint, excellent application and completed in less then 2 days. Everyone involved wore a mask. Got get advice on how to deal with our front door whose original stain had badly faded. Fair price.

We called Five Star for an estimate and AJ was right over to take a look at the job. This is actually the 2nd house that Five Star has painted for us. The guys came early and got the job done faster than we had expected and did a fantastic job. The painters were very respectful and polite during the whole process. The owner, Robin, called to follow up to make sure that we were completely satisfied. I would recommend Five Star to anyone and will certainly call them again. It went great! We had 5 star come in to fix another contractors mistakes. They basically had to redo the whole job but did it the right way.

We did not hire Five Star Painting because we found communication with them to be VERY difficult. At first it was looking good when their estimator seemed to understand the job and promised a speedy estimate. However after receiving this estimate we found much of it to be written is some form of 'painter shorthand'. For example, it listed several categories such as: "Body Back Deck/Stairs" and "Body Siding" and under each heading what was intended to be a description of the work. BUT, these descriptions were not written in normal English and contained things like this (from the "Body Siding" category) "Paint: SW Deck Scape Stain Any S/SS/S ( 1 Coat) Labor: $ 110.75" Well, I guess that we've watched enough episodes of "The People's Court" to desire a contract that was much more clear than this and so we e-mailed them and asked if we could rephrase the critical elements of the contract into 'normal English'. In order to make this easy for them we drafted a proposed 'page' two of the estimate/contract that said things like "Side stairs & small deck: Paint stairs, riser faces, deck, pickets & hand rails with 2 coats of solid stain - same as used on front porch" and also included numbered photos to match the written description. This is when things went really bad with Five Star. At first they did not reply to our e-mail request. Then we called and talked with the son (it's a father/son owner & operated business) who agreed to change this portion of the contract as we had drafted. But after several days w/o any contact we e-mailed and called again . . . eventually talking on the phone with the father. He said that they have been doing business for many years and have never changed a contract proposal for anyone and that he wasn't about to do it for us. In our mind it would have been a very simple 'cut and paste' word processing modification to this contract that would take a couple of minutes. By the way, it's important to note that we were not requesting any actual changes to the work that was being done or any of the pricing . . . we only wanted the contract to be written in language that anyone could read and understand w/o interpretation. So there you have it. If you're Ok with a business that: 1) Does not reply to e-mail, phone calls or texts in a timely manner, 2) offers contracts that contain 'painters shorthand', 3) Is unwilling to adjust the language of this contract into standard language, and, 4) will give you mixed messages (such as the son telling us that he would modify the contract and the father saying 'no way') . . . then Five Star is for you. :-)

Excellent- From the estimate to the final walk through, all work was done in a professional manner. The painters kept me informed of any areas that needed extra attention. They went above what I expected.

Five Star provided me with a great price and was fairly efficient with all their work. They even provided caulking for my crown molding after painting, which was appreciated. Other than a late start on the second day of work, I had no major complaints.

Five Star gets One Star They did a recent interior painting job for me, and while some areas that they did were good, the attention to detail and follow up checking in other areas was very poor -in fact, for professional painters, those areas were the sloppiest work I have ever seen. Specifically, they painted window sashes without opening the windows or removing the grids; the windows were all stuck closed, and I had to spend several hours with a hammer and putty knife to get them open. When I did get them open, there were globs of dried paint on the sashes, and the grids were also frozen in place. I should add that painting window sashes was not part of what we asked them to do They also dripped white trim paint on the wall, failed to caulk some obvious gaps, and were just careless with their paint lines, getting paint on hinges and door knobs. One of the owners did about a 10-minue post -job walk through with me and we noted a few things that needed fixing, but the crew only fixed some of them. But more disappointing than the sloppy painting were the responses to my complaints to one of the owners when I sent him pictures of the problems. Initially, he did not even apologize for the issues; he just offered to send the crew out to fix what I had already done most of, and said there is a 3-day grace period in their contract to deal with this sort of thing. I told him no thanks, and said that I took care of the fixes myself to ensure they were done right. I also told him that if he wanted do something meaningful about the problems, and my extreme dissatisfaction, he could refund the part of our payment that applied the room with the problems. Instead, he pointed the brief post -job walk through and said that I was happy with the job then. He still made no apology but offered to send a different crew out to fix the problems I had mostly already taken care of - which told me he really wasn’t paying attention to a very dissatisfied customer. He then offered me $150 if I agreed not to post bad reviews. That really mad me mad. I told him that as far as the walk through, if he expected customers to notice every problem in a short walk through, he would not need to have a 3-day grace period in their contract. I said that I didn’t need or want anyone to come back. I also told hm he could keep his $150- or for that matter, the full portion amount of $789 - because this issue was not about the money for me. It was to determine if he intended to act in good faith towards a dissatisfied customer given that I had to spend my time yesterday doing work his crew should have done. I told him that the right thing to do was for him to refund the full portion amount along with an apology company's bad workmanship without me having to mention it. That would have been good customer service and I would have acknowledged that in my review.

If you are looking for first class painters , these guys won't disappoint. I had a new residence that needed painting to freshen it up. With teh greatest of confidence I was able to give them access to the house while I was away and they handled everything flawlessly. Between providing a professional estimate , they stayed in full contact with me and did everything they promised. They also left the house in perfect condition after completing the job. These guys may be a bit more expensive than some others but clearly they are professionals doing first class work. Happy I made this choice of a professional painting service.

Great job! They were in and out quickly and very professional. Our job took 2 1/2 days and they took great care at the end of each day to make sure we were able to use our home as needed in the evenings.

From the first response to our inquiry to the last follow up, these people were great. The process went rather quickly, they were extremely professional, and the house looks amazing. Would recommend to anyone looking to put some new clothes on their house.

I have moved 3 times in 11 years, and did complete paint jobs on each house. In addition, I have done specific rooms from time to time. Since I found 5 Star, I have never looked for painters again. I just call them. They are responsive and reliable. I have used the group based in Cary and the group from Raleigh and they were both great. Each team was trustworthy in the home, careful with their work and very nice people. If I saw a mistake they would fix it on the spot. They always say to call if I find something wrong after they have gone, but I haven't ever needed to. For my most recent job of 3 rooms, I called the painters my neighbor recommended, just to check prices. 5 Star came in with a much better price. So I won't bother with that step again. Just call 5Star!

This is the second time we have used FIve Star Painting and both times they have met our expectations in every way

They did a great job! I was concerned at first because I saw some problems but before they asked for final payment, and without me saying anything, they had a project manager come by and look over the entire house. He put up blue tape wherever he saw a problem. I looked it over and added any of my concerns. The next week it was all fixed and looks great!

I hired 5 star to powerwash and stain by deck and fence. They were flexible with scheduling, arrived on time, and did great work
