Five Star Painting Raleigh Durham Triangle

They were good. They were real good. They did a real good job. The price was reasonable. The quality was real good. Responsiveness was very good. My hallway has wallpaper, but they use like a sealant to cover the wall paper and then paint over it. So you really can't see it, they did a real good job.

It went very well. Trent, the Project Manager arrived on time. He explained all the details to me, and soon after the crew arrived and went right to work (Monday). One person did all the prep work (taping and cleaning) the other two people did the actual painting. The entire house was finished in one day. Robin, the General Manger, stopped by mid afternoon (Monday) to check on the progress. The crew worked until 7PM. The next day (Tuesday) both Trent and Robin came by to inspect the work and found a few things they felt needed to be touched up. They asked what time frame would be best for me to have the crew back for a few hours and I told them the next day ((Wednesday) would be fine. Everyone arrived on time and went right to work. Robin stopped in twice to check and again when the crew was finished to be sure I was happy and satisfied. I have recommended Five Star Painting to my neighbors and others. I am very pleased with the entire experience.

The painters arrived on time each day. They were professional and courteous. The work was completed in a timely manner and to specifications. They made the whole process quick and easy.

Robin and his team are amazing! They were professional, unbelievably efficient---like a well-oiled machine! I picked colors in advance, the crew came in, did an amazing professional job and were done in 2 1/2 days. Clean, trustworthy, reliable, friendly---I couldn't ask for more! After they left, my son noticed that they had actually retouched part of the floor trim in several areas of the living room--something that had not even been on our estimate. I would recommend Five-Star to everyone! I will use them again in my new home!

I wanted to comment on my previous review concerning Five Star Painting. Robin did get in touch with me after my review and it appears that he sent the estimate to the wrong email address. He has since sent me the estimate but I decided to use another painter.

They guys are friendly and all that but the only reason it wasn't an A was they like got some paint on the door knobs in the back just one of the door knobs only.

We were pleased with the service performed.

I would highly recommend Five Star Painting (and Robin in particular) if you're looking for exceptional professionalism, highly quality work, excellent communication, and attention to detail. We are very satisfied with everything they did, including walls, trim and doors. Robin was there every step of the way, from a thorough estimate to a walk through to make sure we were happy with every room.

Painters arrived about 9:00AM and immediately began prepping all interior walls for painting. The two man crew worked all day and completed the job. (One exception was missing a small power room on 1st floor.) The supervisor accepted the miss and a painter returned Saturday - the following day and completed the job. All in all, they did a terrific job!

Five Star was very responsive, detail oriented and the quality of the job was excellent.

The work performed by Taylor and Robin Green's crew was excellent. In addition to the high quality of the painting done, the work was performed quickly and efficiently. There was daily oversight of the crew by one of the owners of the company, and they were responsive throughout the project to answer any questions and address any concerns.

The owner, Robin Green, was very attentive and was super fast in helping getting the financing arranged (it was a largish project) and he personally came out to supervise the final stages. I'm very satisfied!

Price: I had three different companies quote my job. 5 Star was not the lowest but the lowest guy did not seem that professional and did not significantly beat the 5 Star pricing. Promptness: The team arrived when they were supposed to and completed the job in good time frame. Issues: There were a couple of things that prevent me from recommending 5 Star Painting to others. The biggest thing for me is that they lied: their workers damaged two items on the house during the pressure washing, the foreman said they would return and repair the items but this never happened. The damaged items were a louver on a dryer exhaust vent and the protective cover on a outside power outlet. While these are minor items, it angers me that they lied about intending to fix them to get paid, I should have held payment until they were fixed. The other issue is there is not a strong focus on quality, the approach seemed to be - do the minimum acceptable. For example, they did not paint the underside of the window sills where it extends out past the house by an inch or two. They did go back and paint this area after I told them they missed it. I have since been up on a ladder and saw that the tops of the window sill were not painted (you won't ever see this unless you are up on the roof or a ladder). There were other small things they missed and like the window sills nothing really glaring but give a general indication the focus is not on doing things right but doing things good enough so that the customer doesn't complain. Summary: prompt, reasonably priced but you have to watch them to insure quality and no issues.

The experience could not have been better. Robin and his team responded to my email inquiry and were here for a detailed estimate within a day. They wrote it up and specified everything they felt was needed to satisfy my requests and did not pressure me to buy anything that was not needed or wanted. They replied with a written quote and once details were agreed upon, they began the work quickly. Robin and Trent kept in constant contact and made sure we understood what was going to happen and when. Their crew was prompt and diligent. They took the time to completely prep the house with tarps to protect anything (like my car and patio furniture) from wayward paint and removed lights, gutters, etc that needed to be out of the way. They worked from morning to almost dark and cleaned up their work tools and supplies. The whole job took two days basically. The cost was very reasonable and was much better than the other quotes I received from other providers. I was beyond pleased with the results and the process and would recommend 5-star to anyone.

These guys are terrific! Professional, prompt, and responsive. Robin and/or Taylor came by almost every day to check on the project to make sure we were satisfied with work and progress. Their work was excellent. No question that we will work with them again. They also do interiors and more than likely will do ours in the near future. Really enjoyed working with them and will again.

Customer service really set this operation aside from the other quotes that we received. Robin worked to accommodate every request that we made, including some short turn around scheduling and a need to have the work done while we were out of town. The crew even returned a couple of weeks after the job was initially completed to touch up a few places.

Did not show up to appointment as scheduled and did not call to say why either. Terrible!

EXCELLENT! Estimator arrived promptly on time. Provided detailed estimate for services which I accepted. I got the scheduling call the very next day. Painters arrived promptly as scheduled. From repair to priming to painting to clean up....everything done very well. Yes, I would use this company again.

I requested an estimate appointment on their website for today. I received a confirmation email and thought everything was straight. I confirmed that they had the right email, phone number and address for me. I had to take an extra long lunch from work in order to be home for the appointment and they never showed. I didn't receive an email or call before, during or after the appointment time. Very disappointed that they would be so disrespectful of my time. I understand that things may come up, but they should have communicated that.

This company did a wonderful job. Upon completion the property appearance was that of a new construction versus a fix up. My property sold within a week. I would definitely recommend this company.

They did a fabulous job! My house went from being a dump to a jewel. It looks like a brand new house on the inside. It only took them 2-3 days to complete this project. I would highly recommend them and I will definitely use them in the future.

I have used 5 star in the past and did again recently... yet again I am not disappointed! Their service and product are exceptional. They were also able to schedule me quickly! From start to finish they are fast and courteous!

I would say that our experience with this company was "OK." We have several issues that came up that could have been avoided with better project management, and the project was never actually "completed," as in they never came out to do a final walk through and fix a few issues that were not taken care of during the initial painting. A few key points: - The project went over the dates that they said it would even with great weather. - The foreman was NOT on the site every day like we were promised. - One day, only one person showed up to work on the house-- when if the crew had shown up-- they would have been able to finish. - At one point the team accused us of stealing a can of paint (?!). We did not touch the paint. - We were home the entire time and were able to open windows when needed, but when we pointed out that the project was taking entirely too long because no one was showing up-- they blamed it on us being home. - There are a few areas of the house that were not adequately caulked and need touchups and when I contacted the company there was no response. - They left several sharp objects in our yard-- one a knife that a neighbor child found while walking barefoot, and another that my husband saw just before almost going over it with a lawnmower. - They promised they would be finished by a certain date, and when they weren't, I called and Trent told me he was "headed out of town for the holiday." I found this super frustrating because we were trying to do the same thing and that's WHY we had asked them to be finished by the day before. I would only recommend this company as a second or third option based on our experience mainly because they never truly finished and we are extremely disappointed that they took the check and didn't fix the details.
