They were on-time, very polite, and quiet. The clean-up was very good too. All done in one day. The crew even lifted one end of a credenza for me so that I could put a slider under it. The credenza was in a room not to be painted. They were so nice. At lunch time they asked if I wanted anything from the store. Gosh, when does that ever happen? It was a pleasant experience.

Robin at Five Star was excellent to deal with. He took time on the initial visit to measure everything and talk through the different options and possibilities without making us feel rushed or like we were being up-sold. They were responsive to our scheduling needs since we were painting to prep the house for sale. The work was done quickly and professionally. Touch-up areas were addressed without argument. Robin was able to address issues that came up during the job like discovering that the closets and pantry also needed painting. Very glad they were able to handle the dynamic situation since the outcome was much better as a result. Thankfully we added the powerwashing of the driveway as it looks like new! Very reasonable pricing given the amount of work done.

Extremely fast response on both quoting and getting the job done. They followed up quickly on changes I made to the quote. They had a cancellation and were able to come the day after I signed the contract. They sent five guys who were all excellent workers, quiet, very careful, fast. After the entire job was finished I only found two tiny touch-ups I wanted them to do. They are just fabulous!

Some stains remained on siding of screened porch from roof runoff. They came back and cleaned them off promptly.

Because of a Living Social/Amazon Local coupon deal the team was stretched and had to bring in additional resources. This meant that some finishing aspects of the paint job were not completed to my total satisfaction - nails and hooks for paintings not replaced or missing, outlet covers not screwed back in properly, screws missing. Also in one bathroom there was paint spray on the bathtub fittings. However, given the discount from the coupon these were acceptable, minor issues but they do mean I can't give them a A grading on every aspect.

Taylor Green and Five Star delivered exactly what they promised. They were on time, professional and completed the job to exceed my expectations. From the first visit that produced their competitive quote, to the pre-work walk through and crew introductions, to the timely and neat execution of their work we were thoroughly please and satisfied.
Beginning with the power washing through the job-site clean up and final walk through, we couldn't have been happier with their performance and results.

We had Taylor and Five Star Painting do some extensive work for us in December, 2011, including repairing some interior damage caused by a broken water line, several interior rooms repainted, exterior siding replacement, and painting the entire exterior of our house. we spent $8,500 with them but felt we got a very fair price with superior customer service.
We had some additional minor work we wanted done and were curious if we would receive the same service for a $500 job that we did for an $8,500 job. The service was excellent! They were on time, professional, and very considerate.
We highly recommend Taylor and the team at Five Star!

They did start on time. Wall prep was incomplete requiring fixing at the end of the job after painting. They did not know how to repair stucco and rushed it. My wife had to show them how to do it. They didn't allow the repairs to cure before painting, necessitating revision later. Many areas had to be touched up again later. Very little supervision and oversight by Taylor. He was somewhat belligerent when we asked for a final inspection. Just wanted the money. His workers did work hard and worked on Sunday. In the end everything looks pretty good. The process simply was not easy.

Maybe the quality of the work varies with the crew you get. Since I had to call them back twice, I apparently didn't get the 5-star crew. For that reason, I can't recommend this company.

Five Star Painting was fantastic to work with. The prices were very affordable and the workers were not only extremely punctual, but they are thorough to say the least. When they arrived punctually at my house, all the men took their shoes off to walk through. They put sheets down to cover the floor as well. Not only did they do an amazing job painting both my garage and screened in porch, but they swept and vacuumed the spaces they were in before they left to ensure it was immaculate. I am pretty sure it was cleaner when they left, then it was before they got there :). I was also impressed that the workers gladly moved my stuff out from the garage and back into the garage when the paint was dry. They asked numerous times if everything looked up to my standards and if there was anything else I wanted them to paint or fix. I am finally glad to say that as a real estate broker in the area, I know who my "go to" painters will be, without a doubt! Thanks for the wonderful experience Five Star Painting!

The painting was done quickly and the work was done well, however the company's business practices are questionable at best. Taylor sent the quote as the invoice following and when I asked for an invoice he was unable to produce one. He also wanted me to email credit card information for payment which I was not comfortable with. His correspondence during this time was short, unprofessional and borderline rude. After several email exchanges like this, he forwarded me on to what I can only assume (based on the name) was his wife who went on to detail some long excuse about the corporate offices upgrading their systems and not being able to produce an invoice. The most frustrating part was how Taylor handled the situation, if he been more pleasant about his inability to invoice or even attempt to explain what was going on it would have left a better taste in my mouth, but he made me feel as though he just wanted to get my money and be done and didn't have time for anything further. I will not be using Five Star Painting in the future.

Because your review is posted on Angies list and the importance of customer feedback is the life blood of our business I would like to respond. I am Robin Green and one of the Five Star Painting Franchise owners along with my two sons. I am the one who left you the message about our software update. We were putting in a new Corporate software system at the time of your painting project and were running into a number of issues. We were all frustrated with the progress and when we were told the new system would not product an invoice we couldn’t believe it as well. Once Taylor told me you wanted an invoice in addition to the estimate and he had told you the system was unable to product one I called you to let you know we would generate one by hand until our Corporate group could get our system corrected. We never heard back from you until the review was posted I was not part of the call or communication between you and Taylor but I’m sure he had no intent to be rude to you or any customer and we all apologize if we left you with that impression. If you look at all of our other reviews in the markets we service, Raleigh and Wilmington, you will see we have received 95% A’s. with just a couple of B’s on Price. I would ask that you reconsider revising your D grade on our professionalism and allow us to provide you with a special offer to prove we are truly a professional business that takes our customer feedback serious. Taylor was great to work with. We met before the start of the job to do a walk through of the house and explain what needed to get done. I went to Lowes and picked out paint colors and he had no problems color matching them with the Sherwin Williams paint that they use. I was able to walk through the house and discuss any outstanding items before completion. They finished everything in 3 days. I am very happy with their work.

It went well. Pablo and Alberto were very polite and personable. They worked very hard and it was clear that they take pride in their work. They arrived early and left late each day to get the job done. They made minor repairs that were needed along the way. They carefully prepped the areas before painting, so as to prevent painting things that shouldn't be painted. When we pointed out some areas that had been missed, they took care of it quickly. They were eager to please. Taylor and Tanner checked in regularly to see the progress and to make sure we were happy with it. They made any adjustments to make the outcome just as we wanted. I would recommend them to my friends and would be happy to use their services in the future.

They did a real good job. I had to have them come back and touch up a few places that they missed. I had paid for two coats of paint. I was keeping an eye on them and there were a few places that they missed on the second coat but that is understandable. There were three or four of them out there working and they had just missed a few pieces of fascia. I spoke to Taylor Green, the owner of the company, and he had come out and given me an estimate and everything. He had told me to call him if there were any problems and that they would come right out and fix it, which they did. There were some holes that they hadn't patched but they came right out and patched them. I had no problems with them. I paid them when they finished and then I noticed a few things just after that and told them, and they came right out and fixed it. They did a very nice job on installing the door too. They did nice work. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive. I had somebody out who had quoted quite a bit less but that was only for one coat of paint and I wanted two. Their prices were probably right in the ballpark with everybody else. The whole crew was nice and they cleaned up everything when they were done. They did a nice job.

Taylor came in with a day to give an estimate. On the day of service Five Star was on time and completed the job when they said they would. Paint color was right, all trim was completely covered. Great job!

They were very good. My husband & I went to a home show & we gave our number to five or six painting companies. Five Star was the only company that responded, but the initial salesman canceled several appointments. We ended up working with another salesman, who was wonderful to work with and was one of the reasons why we went with Five Star. Their price was within range of other companies, and they did give us the top quality paint along with a discount for being with Angie’s List. They worked with us on our time frame and schedule. It was rainy throughout, so if there was a good-weathered day, they were there right on time. When they were finished, the painters came back with the salesman and we went over everything. They were gracious and wonderful about any kind of touch-ups that we thought were needed. They had a hard job, since they had to use the same color as what the home was originally, and they were very good about coming back to touch up anything we thought needed to be touched-up.

Taylor Green worked closely with us every step of the way. He prepared a very thorough estimate that was very competitively priced, easy to understand, and broke out all the various charges for each task we wanted completed. The crew showed up on time every day and were professional, polite, and very efficient. Taylor stopped by every morning (and most afternoons) to make sure we understood what was going to be accomplished that day. Although we made some changes as the project progressed, the team took it in stride and it didn?t seem to bother anybody.
The quality of workmanship was excellent. The repairs were completed flawlessly, the new siding looks great, and the new paint makes the house look brand new. I think the wall paper in one of the bathrooms was put on with super glue. It proved a much more difficult task than anyone anticipated with lots of wall repair but the results are beautiful. They also did a great job of matching the interior paint where the repairs occurred in other rooms so we didn?t have to repaint the entire room. The kitchen turned out better than we ever thought it would.
Needless to say, we are very satisfied customers for lots of reasons: dealing with only one person, Taylor, for all the various repairs, installation, and painting vs. different contractors for each, the free services of the interior designer from Sherwin Williams for color selection, the level of professionalism from start to finish, and, most important of all, the final results!
