Sparrow & Sons Plumbing & Heating

I think I found out that my builder uses the guy that built my house now uses them for his sub-contracting work for him the houses that he builds and so I decided to start using them since they were also located close to me I didn't have any issues with my prior plumber at all it's just tat these guys are just closer and sometimes I get an appointment faster.

They had to replace the hot water heater. Well they had to do some other stuff besides that I think they had to replace circulatory pump and the water main as well as the heater and I think that might have been like fifteen hundred dollars for all three things and it's a seventy five gallon hot water gas fire hot water heater so, they are very nice.

Badly. Labor cost $142.50. Washer to repair faucet cost 25 cents. High quality toilet tank innards cost $136.94 from Sparrow. Toilet tank innards cost $20.00 at Home Depot. Subsequently on 3/14/16 my toilet was unclogged by Sparrow for a price of $175.00....they sent a 2 man crew to send a simple 5 foot snake down the toilet. It relieved the clog. On 3/17/16 the toilet clogged again and Sparrow sent a different plumber who had no knowledge of the continuing problem. He said I needed a new toilet with a bigger flush hole. There were no facts to support his assertion. I disputed his assertion and he he snaked out the toilet again in the same way as the previous Sparrow plumber. It relieved.

It went very well. The plumber was very professional and efficient. Sparrow and Sons is my "go to" plumber in Chapel Hill.

Work was done as scheduled.

We had a problem, our sump pump. The man came around at night to fix it. He came around to the backyard where the access was to it was and he came into the backyard and he just stood there like he was frozen. I thought, is there a problem? He didn't say anything. I said, if you're not going to do anything, you might as well leave. He just stood there like a dummy. It was weird. We called the owner but it didn't make much difference I don't think. They didn't charge anything, otherwise I would have had a problem. It was the weirdest experience. He was just standing there in the dark. I said, well, are you going to be able to help us? He said, I don't know, I don't think so. So, we just blew him off. I've never been so confounded in my life.

I had a tub that was draining slowly. A plumber arrived on the first day and tried unsuccessfully to snake it. After opening up a service panel behind the tub, he discovered that we had an old trap drain that was probably clogged. He recommended replacing the trap drain and we scheduled for another day. Two new plumbers came to do the work. They did it efficiently and with a minimal and neat cut in the living room ceiling. They also corrected a problem with the overflow pipe. They were friendly and did a good cleanup job. Disappointingly, the tub still drains slowly (albeit less slowly), but I think that's a result of the angle of the pipes in my 1930s house. The overflow pipe had to be corrected and I'm glad that work was done. The whole project was on the pricey side (especially the first visit, for which I was charged for the unsuccessful snake), but given that they are very reliable and careful and professional, I don't mind paying a little more. I would call them again. (Cost and date of service are from memory; I was prompted by Angie's List to write the review and don't have that information in front of me.)

Showed up on time. Easy to work with. Good job. Would use them again.

Called Sparrow because they could come when we needed them. We were not disappointed. Work was performed professionally and in a timely manner.

technician was rude. Repair did not hold. I called back about the problem and was told that they would not correct the repair. This company can and will do great work, if you live in Governors Club or Meadowmont. They are dependable and knowledgeable, but they do not want to work for just anyone. If you are just anyone, call someone else.

They have done a few jobs for us, we had a broken pipe under a bathroom sink that connected to faucets out side. Came promptly and repaired saving us restoration charges.

The tech was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Did not understand the 2 bills. The charges were inconsistent. There was a charge of $47.50 on 9/08 for installing 2 flaps in 2 toilets. I challenged this fee and they erased it. I think the charge of $28.75 is too much for installing a single flap in a toilet-a 3 min. job + the cost of the flap. As stated before, the service was very good, the tech was very good, and the office listened to what I had to say, but still I think they are very high pricewise. -

Very well. The only thing that they could not do is repair a leaking toilet, because they don't stock parts for our particular brand.

Excellent work, on time, explained what was going on and fixed everything. I have used them twice before this too. Not the lowest prices but if you want quality work and plumbers they are a good choice.

Plumber missed the original appointment. After we called the "no-show" we were told the appointment needed to be rescheduled because of a delay in arrival of the repair kit. Plumber was friendly but could not stop the leak. He left after recommending that we replace the entire unit. We later received an invoice of $210 for the part that did not work plus labor. Sparrow refused to back out the material charge leaving an unhappy customer who paid $210 for nothing. On a separate note - our price quote to replace was over $500. We ended up ordering the replacement on Amazon for $220 and self installing in 1 hour.

It was a very straight forward replacement of the tub seal. The whole job took about 30 minutes.

Came promptly, inspected, explained and completed work in quick fashion. Very professional.

They were good but they were expensive. The problem was that it broke on a Sunday and they did send somebody out on Sunday but they couldn't fix it on a Sunday so we had to pay for the Sunday call and they couldn't get to us until Tuesday so we could have waited and gotten another service at that time. The work was fine.

My husband said he really liked them.

We were able to call and have a plumber at our house the next day for non-emergencies and the same day for emergencies. Their plumbers are very professional, courteous, and respectful of our property. They were able to price different options, suggest the option that best fit our needs, and install on schedule.

The first time, they quickly found a blockage in our drain from the kitchen sink which is a fairly long run from the main line with lots of turns. It was cleared out, but apparently met up with an unknown second blockage. They had to come out a second time (the next day) and this time they ran the snake a distance of over 40 feet to be sure that they were to the main sewer which they checked by verbally listening for the snake in main line. The second time it took two calls to get them back, but they did come back at no charge. Very professional, and personable workers. Have used them nay times over the years and would not hesitate to recommend them.

They were great! On time and polite! They were very efficient and let me know what to expect. They even worked with me when I didn't know where the water shut off was (they were able to somehow do it without shutting off the water). They put back everything they had to move to get to the heater.

Excellent help and suggestions on how to resolve issues. Very good work!

I use these guys on a regular basis for a variety of plumbing issues. Anything from replacing pipes and nozzles to unclogging sinks and toilets. They are quick to show up, always punctual, and get the job done. They will be my plumbers for life.
