He arrived on time and got to work. He immediately identified the problem - poor caulking done by previous plumber who installed our sink about a year ago. He fixed it, and tested it. Took about 35 minutes. Sink is working fine now, and should last forever (hopefully). The price of $200 seems high to me. But if it works, I'm fine with it.

Overall, the service was very efficient, prompt, and punctual. The plumber, Walter, wasted no time and knew exactly what he was doing. The entire job required 3.5 hours at $95/hr. plus the cost of the parts. I don't know what the current rate is for plumbers is, but I thought it was too expensive; that's my only complaint. I most certainly would recommend Sparrow and Sons, but clear room in the crawl space as I did to expedite the time required for the service.

I called them Saturday morning and they came out real quick. They fixed the pipe quick and didn't charge me too much. It was good because they were family owned and local. One of the sons of the owner was the one who came out and did the job for us.

I found the experience with Sparrow and Son to be very professional and would recommend them. The man they sent was obviously an experienced plumber who knew what he was doing. He explained the changes he was making very well and I was confident that he was doing the right thing. This was a big difference from some companies who have sent kids who seemed like they had hardly even seen the tools they were supposed to use for the job.

Of all the contractors I hired to renovate my kitchen I think they were the only ones I didn't have any problems with. They showed up on time, did good work, came back to fix a leak quickly. And even did some extra things. Maybe not the cheapest but they seemed to know what they were doing. They even went out of their way to order me a matching copper drain for my sink which wasn't in the quote.

It was great! They found the issue and did the repair.

Excellent. The plumber (Walter) was prompt, courteous, and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained the cause and possible solutions, and was able to fix it. Our laundry room is tiny so he had to work in a very small space, but he managed to solve the issue despite the difficult working conditions. We were very pleased and will definitely use Sparrow again and recommend them to our friends! Only downside - the trip charge was $95, which seemed a little high, but the labor charge was reasonable considering the time it took, so overall I felt the price was good. And certainly the expertise and professionalism were much appreciated!

Everything worked out fine with them. We had used them before and they were fine. It was $100 for installing each fixture. They are a good company.

They put a scope down the pipe to see where the break was. First plumber couldn't figure out how to do that and get a clear picture. When they realized it was out on the lawn and not by te sewer in the street they had the work done the next day in one half the time the outher olumber estimated. Wehn they were through you couldn't even see where the lawn had been dug up.

We have used Sparrow several times over the past few years and each time the work has been well done and the staff professional and helpful.

We noticed a water ring forming (but not yet actively leaking) on our kitchen ceiling and called them to check it out. The gentlemen they sent (Tommy) concluded the problem was caused by some improperly fitted pipes going to the toilet on the floor directly above the kitchen, but this was not before he carefully looked at several other options of what may have been causing the problem, including going into our attic. A hole was then cut in our kitchen ceiling to give him access to the area in need of repair and I very much appreciated the fact that he draped the area before it was cut, as well as held a bucket directly beneath the area he was cutting to minimize the dust. (Of course, some sheetrock dust did get onto other parts of the kitchen, but this was pretty much unavoidable unless the entire kitchen was draped.) After realizing he couldn't get complete access to the problem from underneath he went upstairs to remove the toilet. He also attempted to re-set the existing pipes before concluding that new ones were needed. When he cut the pipes to the proper size he did this outside so the bits of pipe wouldn't get in the house. We've used this company once before for a much smaller repair and both times I appreciated the fact that before they just jumped in and started replacing things that they looked at all the different options of what could be causing the problem. I also really appreciate the fact that they tell you what they're doing as they're doing it, and that they attempt to use existing parts when and where they can to save the customer a bit of money on parts. Their labor rates are a bit high, but it's a sacrifice worth making considering the quality of their work. The bill for this job was high and they were also willing to let us pay a portion of it every month instead of all at once. We won't hesitate to continue to use them for any problems we may have in the future.

Went very well. Cleaned up after the job. Didn't do anything he didn't need to. Kept me informed about what he was doing and made some suggestions about what I should do if I wanted to do the work myself (I have in the past done just that). Took care of the little things. For example, the back of the toilet is parallel to the wall which means he made sure it was aligned correctly when he installed it. The gentleman's name who did the work is Scott and I would recommend him highly. They are a little pricey. However, the job is done right the first time and it was perfect. It's worth the extra money.

I found them on Angie's List and they were highly rated. They were located only five blocks away and only took about an hour. I would recommend them to others. They were willing to follow up and offered to fix anything damaged for free.

I have used them for around four or five years for small plumbing jobs around my house and I like them because they are efficient and reliable. I also like the fact that they are a local family run business, and I can count on them.

Knowing nothing about toilets I spoke with someone with Sparrow and they told me my options as far as providing my own new toilet or having them provide one. He gave good suggestions and pointed out that if I bought it from them they would honor all warranty related repairs on the toilet. Their markup on it was reasonable, so I got a toilet through them. After that I simply left a key for the technician, went to work, and came home to a new toilet. Everything had been cleaned up and looked good. I've used Sparrow in the past, and while I think they are more bit more expensive than many of their competitors, I've always been very satisfied with their work and I like supporting family owned businesses in Carrboro.

I made an appointment with this company to do some plumbing work. They gave an estimated time at which they would arrive at my house. An hour and a half later, I called to find out why they had not arrived. I was told they were running behind but would be there within the hour. This happened several times and no one ever showed up. By the time I called for the third time, the office was closed. No on ever called to say they were not coming. I waited for them for six hours. When I called in the morning to talk about it, they said they could send someone that day. I told them I was upset about waiting for six hours for them (stuck inside with a 2 month old colicky baby, no less)and that I thought they should make up for it somehow, for instance in discounting the labor charge, or some other gesture of apology. They got very angry and rude at this suggestion and said that was not possible. I will not do business with this company again.

They looked at the heater first to determine the cause of leaking, then recommended replacing it because of age. We asked about tankless systems, and set up a meeting with someone to tell us about changes to the gas line, etc. We decided on the new conventional tank. They replaced it within a few days.

They where great. They showed up on time, they where professional, courteous, and did not charge an outrageous amount to do the work. I would use them again.
