Rice's Glass Company

I called several companies and received several estimates, all were for a lot higher cost than I wanted to pay for my small shower. I cannot remember the salesman's name from Rice's, but he was the only one who offered me a lower cost option when I expressed concern about the cost. Everyone else wanted to sell me a top end shower enclosure for anywhere from $1200-$1500 for my small shower, and it wasn't like I was remodeling my bathroom, I just wanted to spruce up the shower. He gave me an option that was very similar to what I had already but a much better enclosure (since mine was over 20 yrs old) with a frameless, heavy-duty door. They coordinated with me on the regrouting I was having done the day before so that I wouldn't have to go without the shower any longer than needed. The installers did a super job and I feel like I got a real makeover for my shower at a reasonable price.

He came out, sanded it down and you can't even tell. I have been very happy with them.

They are not cheap, but they do a very good work. They come out, did the measurements, went back, then, came back and installed it in the same day. They were very quick, very prompt, and very reliable. We use them all the time.

They were friendly, on time, and professional, and the window looks like new. They were careful while working and came on time. Our only issue was getting hold of them and actually scheduling an appointment. It took several calls on our part, and a couple of follow-up calls, to schedule an assessment visit and then get the repair person to come.

Simple process ...called, gave dimensions picked it up a few days later.

Stone chipped our windshield and left a small star crack. The Rice technician (David Wright) quoted me a reasonable price for repairing the crack. He warned me that no method would entirely eliminate the visibility of this type of crack. He further warned me that an attempt might make it worse. Then, with my permission, he took thirty minutes attempting to amend the crack, with some success. When finished, he was not entirely satisfied with the result and so refused to charge me and asked only that, if and when I decided to replace the windshield, I would bring my business to Rice. Are you kidding? This guy has a customer for life.

Everything went very well. It was a smooth experience from beginning to end. Everyone involved was pleasant and helpful. The installation team did a super job. I have used Rice's before and I always call on them first for all glass needs.

We had to replace our shower due to a leak. After a lengthy process with the shower, we stopped by Rice's in Carrboro and told them we were going on vacation and would like them to quote quickly. It was around 4:30 and Chad, the measurement person personally followed us home from the store. The price quoted was more than we expected as we thought shower doors would be around $800-$900 each. They did work with us on the price a little and I did get an additional quote, which was higher than their origional quote. Two workers came to install the door and we were really surprised at how long the job took. They measured, levelled, etc. It took time because they were perfectionists. We had plans for the afternoon. After arriving home in the afternoon, we were both amazed at how lovely the door was. They also installed the bevelled mirror strips. (I would not recommend ever installing them because they turn black from moisture and are extremely expensive to replace.) I called the Manager at Rice's Glass to tell them how pleased we were with the shower door. I now know why the shower door was so expensive. The glass is heavy, and extremely difficult and time consuming to install. If you had a higher rating than an A+, I would give it to them.

They were quick, and professional and it only took 35 minuted from start to finish.

Everything was great from start to finish. We went to the showroom in Carrboro with our young children and the salesperson was kind and patient. He showed us all the options and emailed me a quote in a reasonable time. They did the job at the same price as another company I was looking at but they also threw in some optional chrome bars that I liked. The installers came and were professional and fast. Great job and we couldn't be happier with our beautiful new shower doors.

I gave Rice's a call for an estimate on replacing some side windows in a very large foyer. They arrived on time and gave an estimate about $75 below others. We scheduled the service. Again, they arrived promptly and completed their work in a little less than an hour. They took care not to scratch the hardwood floors w/their ladders and cleaned the area before departing. They were very professional and I'd certainly contact them again in the future.

They were fine and everything is perfect. Their price was comparable. I will definitely use their services again in the future.

A rock hit our minivan windshield- splitting it across. We called Rice- they had the windshield the very next day. They offer to take you to your home or office and pick you up if you wish. Had it promptly back within several hours, and instructed me on how to care for the windshield until the glue completely dried. Great service. Incidentally, had to use them again several weeks later- when another rock hit our windshield!! Again, excellent, prompt service. We called our insurance to see if they could give us a better quote on price, and their price was higher. So, although it was expensive to fix the glass, I think it was the nature of the glass- not the provider.

They made a suggestion for us so that we wouldn't have to replace the actual windows. They replaced the glass in the windows instead. They were quite fast with the work.

They did an excellent job! They came exactly when they were supposed to, followed up afterward and made sure everything was done as I wanted it. We were very impressed. The workmen they sent were knowledgeable, came and did their job, and cleaned up afterwards.

Chad came out and measured our space. He explained what he thought would work best, which was not necessarily what I was thinkiing. After the installation was completed, I must say that he was right, and our shower door looks completely wonderful. We also had the door treated with the Eudoro shield, which should make clean up a breeze with a ten year warranty.

Lane came out to measure and the istallation team fit me in their schedule when they were very busy with a large job they were still working on. Everyone was very pleaseant to deal with. The installation team were awesome. They really knew what they were doing.

The salesperson at the store was excellent and worked with us to pick the best doors for our tub.. The doors were custom because we needed them a little higher since the showerhead was installed for a tall person. The installers were prompt and professional. We were very happy with the price and service and we would use them again.
