Let me start by saying these guys do not do bad work. If you have to deal with the owner at all, good luck! He has very little patience and he does not listen to requests. He is very hard to work with. They are too expensive to have that kind of problem. I don’t mind paying top dollar but some patients would be nice. I am a local contractor and I will not be recommending any of my installation professionals to go to this company again.

They were able to do this the work the same day as my call.

Terrific. I was impressed with the owner (initial contact), Jeff (sales/measurement) and the two gentlemen who did the installation today, who by the way had the BEST senses of humor. They installed brand new, beautiful semi-frameless glass in a 20 year old shower. They did a great job, were very professional as well as personable, and it looks perfect. Also, I appreciated Jeff coming to the house twice to make sure measurements were correct. Finally, thanks for working around my travel plans. This work might have been delayed because of a trip, but somehow you managed to push it up the list and it was completed ahead of schedule!

We are very pleased with our experience with Rices Glass. They were prompt and helpful. I visited their showcase to pick out a new shower enclosure, made an appointment and we had a professional install.

I will start with a question: why would anyone go anywhere else to have glass work done? We first came upon Rice Glass when we moved here a few years ago and had them install doors to enclose a bath/shower. When we visited the store to make our selections, we were overwhelmed with the friendly, helpful, no-pressure service. Each and every person working there was good-natured and knew their job. So when the windshield of my 4-week-old car was cracked by a rock, they were the ones we called. I emailed on Sunday evening. At 8:10 the next morning, Ashley called to ask what she could do for me. I explained the situation and she took it from there. She called Honda and ordered the new windshield (the glass couldn't be found in the area since it is a new model) and had Honda ship the piece to Rice so it would arrive Tuesday morning.. I took the car in on Tuesday at noon and they set about doing the replacement. Unfortunately, it needed a piece that is a new addition for this model, so Doug at Rice called me right away and explained the situation. (Mind you, this was a short 1-1/2 hours after I took it in.) He had tried to find the part in the area, but, again, it had to come from Honda. He, like Ashley, made sure it would arrive Wednesday morning.He also wanted to make sure the job was done correctly. He said I could pick up the car Tuesday and bring it back or leave it with them. I left the car with them overnight (they tucked it away inside), and shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Doug called to say the car was ready for pickup. My husband and I are totally impressed. Again, each and every person we saw at the company this time was as gracious as before. All employees take the time to greet the customers. Rice's Glass does extensive glasswork-shower enclosures, mirrors, windows, auto glass, etc. Doing business with them is such an easy and pleasant process. They deserve all the awards Anglie's list gives.

Lane came by to get the details & measurements for an estimate for semi-frameless shower enclosure. He was very good to work with, and answered our questions. We were emailed a quote from the office, and we agreed upon the installation. The order arrived in approx 4 weeks. We scheduled the installation and the workers were very clean, efficient, and professional. I would definitely call on them again for future work!

They replaced 3 panes of fogged glass in 3 sliding glass doors. They were professional, courteous, neat and thorough. They knew what they were doing, did it at the quoted price, and cleaned everything up afterwards. Couldn't ask for better treatment. Pretty rare nowadays to find this quality of service.

The installers were very professional and nice. Installation was on time, done efficiently and well. There was a bit of missed communication between the quote and the job being done, but once a schedule was given the job was done well and on time. I would definitely use them again, without reservations.

The windows were ordered and a schedule was set up to take out the old windows and replace with the new ones when they came in. The installers did a nice job of protecting our furnishings and cleaning up when they were finished. The price quoted was reasonable, they did a good job and I would use them again.

The custom made glass took about 10 days and they called and left a message when it was done. They didn't deliver to our area, northern Durham county, so my husband had to get it in his truck. He built a frame in the back of his truck to keep the glass safe and the men at Rice's were very impressed with it. They helped put the large piece of glass in the truck. The glass fit perfectly and we are very happy with it. The key to getting the right fit is measurement, so we measured twice and to the 16 th of an inch, and they cut it just right.

Rice's Glass were professional in every area. They did what they said and I would definitely recommend and/or use them again. It was refreshing to have a company that went above and beyond all expectations.

Excellent experience. Very professional throughout. Knowledgeable when measuring and discussing available options and installation timing. Installation went smoothly and quickly. End product looks terrific. I recommend their services and I would hire them again.

I got 4 quotes from different providers. The cheapest was $100 less, but I didn't get a great feeling about them. the most expensive was $500 more so i didn't use them. rice's was the same price as the other, and i had the best feeling about them out of all 4. Rice's has been around forever. The service was exceptional. They were on time. Did great work and were very courteous. The workers were good people. They liked working for Rice's, and you could tell it.

They were excellent. I liked their attention to detail, their competence and their commitment to make a customer happy. They informed me that the improvements in my windows would qualify me for a tax consideration. They did so many things. They came back out because there were some little fingerprints on the outside that didn't show up until a few days later when the pollen had hit the outside of the glass. They are a family owned company. I have used Rice before, and I've always had excellent service from them. The price was very reasonable and very fair. It was better than the other company that I was considering. Their quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were excellent. I would absolutely use them again in the future; they are the only one I would call.

It took them over a week to get back to me after my initial call. When they called back to set up a time to come give the estimate they were apologetic and explained that they were very busy. Once they came for the estimate, everything else went as promised, the date of delivery, the installation process and the finished product. We are very happy with the shower door and will use Rice's again when we remodel our master bathroom.

They were really good. They are helpful and he staff is informative when you go to talk to them. They might not be the cheapest but I have used them before and I feel comfortable using them.

This was the best experience that I could ever have with a company after suffering a break in at my home. The staff were very helpful and worked me into their schedule immediately. I had my new window in less than two hours and I was already on my way home. I would recommend these guys to anyone. In fact, I am planning on making another trip to Carrboro to have my windshield in my car replaced. Thank you to the team for all your help and treating your customers so greatly!! Turk

They came first thing in the morning, this company is very prompt and efficient with their time. They were very friendly and cleaned up the glass for us as well. I would recommend this company to any Angie's List member!

Consultation was quick and the price quoted was reasonable. They took measurements and created a custom glass piece to replace the top section of my insulated window that had broken glass. Only comment is that I had to call them to check on the status - after about a week I had heard nothing so I had to call - after being put on hold for awhile they located my order and told me they could come out the next day to install. Make me wonder if I didn't call if I would have just waited and waited. Minor issue.... but when they did arrive they put the window in quickly and it looks great - would never know it is a new piece on top vs. the older piece on the bottom.

They are very old school. Their prices are premium but they are fair. The technician was competent.

Rice Glass manufactured a custom glass top for a coffee table. The work was completed in two days, three days sooner than quoted.

Excellent experience from selection of replacement glass at the store, to on-site estimate, to installation. All appointment times were met culminating in the quality installation of the glass without damage to the wood trim. All employee's were courteous and professional. I would, and will, highly recommend Rice's Glass for any type of home, or auto, glass replacement.

We contacted Rice's to replace an original shower stall door and wall. While the sales process was a bit convoluted and frustrating (the salesman wasn't terribly responsive and we had to follow up, multiple times, on our own), once we got in the queue and scheduled, everything went great. The install only took a couple hours. The install crew showed up on time and they were professional, friendly and efficient. We could not be more pleased with the install and the end result!
