Description of Work: Bob is an extremely knowledgeable, careful and diligent craftsman. His knowledge is vast since he was a general contractor and his work ethic is impeccable. Although he's my age, he works like he's in his 20s-nonstop! He measures and levels multiple times before pursuing the task, which makes him one of the most careful and meticulous people in his industry. I was quite happy to see this as it is rather rare to find! His prices were fair! He does not try to gouge you as some others do. He built a subfloor for my tub, installed a tub and shower surround, installed/replaced plumbing, replaced drywall and even added a few creative touches to my bathroom. His attention to detail was impressive as he saw things I did not even after living there for over 10 years. He also did a few other items for me. He even didn't mind teaching me a few things and loved talking, so we developed a good rapport and I look forward to hiring him again!

Description of Work: I had several areas on exterior of house which had wood rot around 2 doors and porch soffit. As well, I had a rather large area of vinyl siding which was blown off in a windstorm, and a sliding glass door had to be replaced. 18 year old house and most of wood trim size had changed, therefore contractor had to improvise with new materials which he did very well. He also had to work me in due to time of year and weather for outside work, which he did over a three day period of work. Very satisfied.

Description of Work: The contractor was very unprofessional & unorganized. After discussion on what I wanted- he offered no professional suggestion on what to do. The first day he was late b/c he had to pick up & feed his child. Which he brought to my home. He had to constantly talk to his child even allowed showed/allowed his child to paint. I paid for a professional Contractor not for an apprenticeship of an 11 year old. Oh did I forge , the son fell asleep upstairs on my floor!!! So with all the distractions and unorganization- Wood Peace left after about 4 hours. He arrived the second day, again with his son in tow. Same unorganized, frantic behavior. After, about 2 hours. WOOD CONSTRUCTION informed me that they could not finish the job. He & I got into a heated discussion about his lack of professionalism. And he began to nick pic about the time. But yet he was still having to stop to direct, reprimand or monitor his son. The project was not completed. Wood Construction took property that did not belong to him. (Toilet seat was returned upon request). Very unprofessional- inebriated at some point. Wood construction just could not focus on the job. He stopped working & discussed many times his ex-wife, custody battles & lawsuits. This is indeed a bad reflection on Angie's list - my expectations a high, therefore, I don't think I will renew my membership.

Description of Work: Bob called before he arrived and came on time. When he left, the house was as spotless was when he arrived. He did a number of plaster patches that were perfect. He had a wonderful attitude even though I had him working on over 10 different things inside and outside the house. Even was in the attic on a hot summer day for over an hour. I asked for his card and will definitely call him back. Bob would be the perfect contractor for the to do list before you list your house for sale. He has a wide range of skills.

Description of Work: I purchase a "big deal"; contractor for the day. Bob was a pleasure to work with. He came by the house in advance to determine what materials would be needed to complete my projects. Bob completed my laundry list of projects efficiently, and his workmanship was excellent. My list included everything from building a shelf in a wardrobe closet, to rehanging shingles and fixing a running toilet and kitchen faucet (plus several other projects). I would definitely use him again in the future.

I am beyond happy with my experience and my floor and front door! The time ran over a little, but that was due mostly to unforeseen difficulties after the install began. Mr. Forkish went very much above what we originally asked of him and he did not charge an exorbitant amount of money for the extra work. He ran our speaker wire up through the wall so as not to damage the flooring. He fixed the toilet that had developed a leak. He replace the subflooring underneath said toilet when there proved to be some water damage to the existing subflooring. The flooring install itself went smoothly. Mr. Forkish took his time laying out the pattern of the planks and the distance from the wall needed to eliminate any odd cuts at the end of the project. The estimate of the project was $4200 not including any construction supplies needed such as subflooring, staples, felt paper, toilet parts, etc, and not including any extra work that was not included in the contract. Mr. Forkish and his assistant, John, cleaned up their mess daily (as much as can be expected with the flooring ripped up) and maintained as safe an environment as possible through out in regards to my three small children. They were both very respectful, forthright and nice. I feel like we really got more than our money's worth and will be calling upon WoodPeace Construction again in the future should any projects arise.
Description of Work: -Pulling out and disposing of the existing carpeting and padding and linoleum and hardwood entry and luan under the linoleum. -Replacing said carpeting with bamboo flooring throughout including closets, pantry, and half bath. -Paint the quarter round to match the trim. -Replace the subflooring in the dining area underneath the window. -Fix the front door so that it is square and closes properly and seals when locked. -Woodpeace would dispose of all construction waste including the old flooring.

Bob did an excellent job overall on the shower. He is very detail oriented and performed the work in a craftsman-like way. He read the product literature to make sure it was installed per the manufacturers instructions. I believe other contractors would have cut corners where he did not. He was on the job when he said he would be and always returned phone calls promptly.
Description of Work: Bob removed an existing shower stall including gypsum board and fixtures. He installed new water resistant gypsum board, shower base, shower walls and shower fixtures including a door.

You really must see to believe what a beautiful job Bob did on this kitchen. Every aspect of his work was done to perfection and there is nothing that I can find fault with. Although we had general ideas for what we wanted, Bob would make suggestions along the way and I am so glad we listened to him. Example: We requested a tile floor laid parallel to the walls. Bob suggested adding a border and putting the tiles on a 45 degree angle. What a difference that made in the appearance. Many more of his suggestions changed a so so kitchen into a showpiece. I was especially impressed with Bob s punctuality and attention to detail. He checked in with us daily to make sure every step of the process was to our satisfaction. Having Bob there to do it all was very reassuring. It s amazing to see one guy that has such expertise in a variety of areas including tile work, cabinetry, plumbing, and lighting. It is without hesitation that I would recommend Bob for your remodeling project.
Description of Work: My wife decided that she wanted a new kitchen top to bottom. Bob removed everything including floors, walls, doors, plumbing, and electrical. The only things we kept were a few appliances. Bob replaced everything including a new tile floor, all walls, cabinets, new electrical outlets/switches, wall tiles, and lighting. He installed new appliances, doors and a new pass thru from the kitchen to the dining room. Additionally, he rerouted heating/air ducts to a more convenient location. He also incorporated some Paris street scenes into the wall tiles exactly the way my wife had envisioned them.

I cannot say enough positive things about the experience we had with Bob Forkish. From how carefully he performed the demolition work to the final finishing touches, everything reflects his commitment to excellence. First, Bob shows up on time, is courteous and works tirelessly each day. He has all the right tools to handle even the most trying structural problems and there were quite a few on this project. Probably the most striking aspect of Bob s work is his attention to detail and his commitment to satisfying the customer. Many times he would suggest better ways of doing the job. For example: I m 6 5", and he suggested a higher than standard shower height and a taller than usual commode. There were dozens of little suggestions like this that Bob made resulting in a finished product that I am not just satisfied with, I m elated! In all my years of dealing with various service providers, I have never been this happy with the results. You will not go wrong with Bob Forkish.
Description of Work: Two complete bathrooms were gutted and replaced. Both of the bathrooms had serious water and insect damage and required significant structural repairs. Sole plates, joists, joist headers, concrete piers, laminated girders, supply and drain lines, Jaquzzi tub and heater, one piece shower stall, were installed. In plain English, he replaced everything from the ceiling to the ground including vanities and all plumbing and electrical fixtures. Additionally, an in-wall cabinet was installed utilizing existing dead space.

My mother's fixtures are old, and she was unable to stop a leaking faucet. A neighbor told her that a repair would entail removing the surrounding tile, fixing the leak, and replacing the tile. I had trouble finding someone willing to take on both a tile job and plumbing job. I called Bob based on a recommendation from Angie's List. He arrived promptly the next day, intending to give a quote for the job. He could see a cheaper alternative and proceeded to do the job right then. He ran into some problems that made the job more complex but stuck with it until the job was completed. It took about four hours. My mother was impressed with his knowledge, expertise, and helpfulness. His charge was excellent, especially considering the extra time he spent. We were both so impressed that I have asked him to bid a carpentry job for my home.
Description of Work: They replaced and repacked worn out washers and fittings for a bathroom tub in a 1960's home.
