Description of Work: install a total of four [4] underpinning helical piers

Description of Work: Used four helical piers to level tilted concrete patio behind walk out basement. Work was performed in a professional manner with limited damage to surrounding area. Piers were installed without the use of heavy equipment which could not be easily used in the area around the patio. Total cost for each installed pier was about $1100 each which I thought was a little high. No other contractors in our area does this kind of work.

Description of Work: I have a crack in the masonry above the garage. It was there when I purchased the home but only thought I would be in the house for a short time. During the drought of 2008, it extended. It was already clear the soil on the side of the garage was compacting and sloping down towards the neighbor's. I wanted a structural engineer to assess the situation rather than just call a foundation repair company so I would be assured I would address the problem appropriately but not more than was needed for structural integrity. I used Tyndall Engineering. They confirmed the building contractor failed to compact the lot on that side to meet code and may have failed to attached the header over the garage to the steel lintel which had sagged. He gave me two names of foundation repair companies. I really dreaded going through this process because of the cost and presumed mess they would make. I put it off for awhile but then bit the bullet and called both companies he recommended, Ram Jack and Applied Solutions. Both came out promptly, were professional, and gave estimates that were close in costs but one of them suggested a different approach (number and placement of piers) from the engineer. That added more confusion and excuse to put it off. I then took advantage of meeting the husband of a patient who was himself an engineer and had recently had their foundation repair work done by Carolina Foundation Solutions. He spoke very highly of John Adams. I called John and he also promptly came out, not once but several times. He spent a great deal of time looking at the engineer's report, measuring, and meeting with my neighbor, also an engineer who does the repair work on my home. John was extremely personable, was forthright in all discussions, offered to speak with the engineer, and - way above the call of duty - came out and spent considerable time with my neighbor taking down the sheetrock over the garage header to inspect it. All three companies thought I would also need the garage floor pressure grouted to even it.

Description of Work: I called Carolina Foundation Solutions this afternoon and left a message. A gentlemen returned my called within minutes. At this time they do not work in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. He was so kind and took time to look up a number of a contractor, that I did not even request, and gave me a number of someone that could assist me. That is what you call good business and customer service. A company I surely would have done business with!!!
