Rip off alert! I purchased a Big Deal from this company via Angie's list. When I called to schedule the appointment I informed the receptionist that my AC was working but that I knew it needed some refrigerant due to having already checked the pressures with a set of gauges myself. The Big Deal included a pound of refrigerant and a "Tune Up" that covered numerous safety checks, etc. However, the technician did not perform those checks or do any of the things listed on the big deal. So really, this is a BIG DUD. To top it all off the technician tried to charge me for his "diagnosis" of being low on refrigerant which is INCLUDED in the big deal and something I had already informed him of , and also attempted to charge me additional money because someone at his office had put in his computer that the AC wasn't working and it was an emergency call. That is ridiculous because the inside of my home was 70 degrees on an 85 degree day and I had called on the weekend for a TUESDAY appointment. NOT an emergency. The tech actually took 45 dollars in cash from me in addition to the original 49 dollars on Angie's list, but when he realized I planned to complain he gave the cash back, but attempted to have me sign the over inflated bill. I refused to sigh the bill, writing instead that I "WILL CALL". DO NOT LET THESE GUYS SUCKER YOU. This tech was unprofessional, and I want half my money back because I did not receive what I paid for. I ORIGINALLY asked for someone to come out who could ALSO quote a new heat pump to replace my AC unit and oil furnace. What a joke. What I got was someone who was ignorant of the company special and who tried to overcharge me. They could have had a sale on some new equipment! But I would NEVER consider using them again.

The technician was very efficient, professional and arrived as scheduled.

Arrived on time and performed the tune up.

Very personable. He came and checked out the furnace. He let us know that the furnace was old and only had maybe one more year left in it. He showed us how to change the filter and did as much as he could for us. We will likely use this company to replace our AC and furnace next year.

The problem was that 2 contactors and one capasitor 50/3 needed to be replaced. These items cost about $30 each on the high side. I was charged $150 each to install the three parts plus the cost of the service call.. Labor time was approximately 30 minutes. According to my calculations, the mark-up was about 500 % for each item. I did speak to the owner about these charges. His reply was that there is an overhead cost to these charges necessary to the cost of doing business. No problem there. Of course there should be an overhead charge to cover costs plus profit. However, according to my calculations, the mark up was in the neighborhood of 500 percent (not a typo). I mentioned that I did not have a problem with paying the huge overheard for the first item, but since the repairman was already on-site, the cost to install the second and third items should have been considerably less. In total I paid $528 for about 1/2 hours labor plus about $ 30-90 worth of parts. The owner offered a free service call in the fall. I declined. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. If you use this service, be aware of potentially excessive charges.

The company came out and did a great job! Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Update on 7-29-15: Initially I thought the company did a good job but 2 months later there appears to be a rusted-through coil requiring a $1400 repair.

I received a phone call when he was on his way. He was very professional and curteous at all times. Work was done in a timely manner. I will certainly use his company in the future.

Technician was top notch in professionalism and transparency on all of the aspects of the service. Very thorough in explaining all of the tune-ups he was performing and why. He was very friendly and was patient in answering all the questions I had.

It went very well. They showed up on time and we were happy with the work they did. They also contacted us this year to see if we needed another A/C tune up. We told them we were not quite ready at the time and they were not pushy at all.

Service was fine, tech arrive promptly and did the work needed to check the A/C and do some basic maintenance. Gave a reasonable estimate of a new system.

Daniel arrived on time and went right to work. He was friendly and took the time to explain things to me. He inspected our ac units and tuned them up and left the ac on when he left. That day was hot and I didn't feel like the ac was working--but since Daniel had just been there--I thought that I must be wrong. I kept adjusting the thermostat, and it never got any cooler. At 9:00 PM, it was still 89 degrees in our house and I called and left a message on Custom Heating and Air's voice mail that something was not right. They called me back the next morning and made a same day appointment for Daniel to return that afternoon. He discovered that a wire had snapped while he was doing the inspection. He fixed it at no charge. So overall, the experience was fine--just the snapped wire was a frustrating experience.

Daniel arrived on time and got to work inspecting the furnace. He worked quickly and explained things to me. He was friendly and professional. Both furnaces were fine.

Very well. Said everything was in good working order. I appreciate their openness, willingness to discuss what they are doing and the quality of their work. The price was excellent. They had a problem with the appointment. I think they lost it in the computer system initially so I had to call them back, but they were very good afterwards.

Technician was punctual and very professional and knowledgeable. He explained in detail the services provided, as well as potential service that might be needed in the future. Would use them again.

Awesome. A/C went out and I called just after 5pm. They came out and the A/C was repaired before dark.

Nice guy, checked filters,was ready to change them but I didn't have any at the time.

He has never come. I contacted them when I purchased it, they said the earliest they could do was June. They never showed up for their appointment. I thought something would happen, it never did. I have since contacted another company and got my A/C serviced.

I bought the AC checkup. I was having no problems with the AC. He was punctual & professional and gave plenty of advice and communication. He went into the unpleasant crawlspace without complaint. I couldn't follow him as he did all the 22 point check, but I have to presume that he did everything promised. He advised on how to plan for replacement or repairs in the future. I was satisfied with the service I got.

I finally called after 2 weeks of not being contacted under the terms of the coupon, but they responded quickly and made short work of the inspection and cleaning. Did not try to "sell me" a new system despite it being 15 years old.

This is the second time i have used this company and will never request their services again.The technician was more interested in selling me a new unit.He left without turning my AC unit back on and i had to call the company for him to come back.He came back,turned on the unit and left saying nothing.

He said my system was aging and drawing more energy then a newer system would but that is was OK . Unfortunately the first time I really need the AC was this very hot week in Greensboro but while the fan is working there is NO cold air coming in. Does this mean it needs to be charged up? Why wasn't that done at the time of the tune up? If charging it up would have cost a bit more I would have paid it. As he found nothing wrong but it is not putting out cold air I will be calling in another service to get things right. Guess you get what you pay for. This was no bargain.

We hired them based on a reference from another company we had used. We later found out that it was the service providers brother who recommended him to us. They left a spit cup full of chaw in my house, and my kitchen sink was also full of it. I called the company to tell them about this and the receptionist said that no one on their crew chewed, insinuating that it must be ours. They came out Friday to replace duct work in the basement. Our waste line cracked, and they did not tell us about it. We called them to tell them that it was cracked, and they said that it just happened, and that they did not do it. Nobody came out to address it or fix it. They told us that the ducts were airtight, and no water would be able to get in. My husband looked at them, and took apart a piece of the work, and water came pouring out. The new duct work did not line up with the drop ceiling. They told us that they could make it match, but it is an inch lower than the original. The returns were not connected, and were directed to no particular place. The duct work in the utility room is so low that you can't open the door more than 5 inches. We put a stop payment on the check because of the incomplete work, and the company got very upset with us. They came back and ripped out everything that they had done. Now we have no duct work at all. We looked into them a little further after this and discovered that they had no permit to be doing this work. As a result we filed a complaint with the city.

It turned out very well. It took a while to schedule the service, but it worked out very well. They got the job done in about 90 minutes as they checked 3 units. The technician was very good.
