Tech Billy Dunlap has done my check ups for last 2 years, has always been polite, always trustworthy. Much better experiences with Custom Air than some of the other big triad A/C companies.

Chris Harris was on time, friendly, efficient and thorough. Custom Air has maintained our HVAC systems for at least 10 years and we have never been disappointed in the service or the price.

The AC was working fine the morning they arrived. They told us the system had issues and needed to be replaced. The AC was not working after they left. We had another company look at the system the next day and they found two wires had been disconnected from the unit. They reconnected them and the system has been working fine ever since. This company deliberately disconnected the wires. They are dishonest and should not be in business.

I have a contract. I will use again. We've used them 4 or 5 years for our summer and winter maintenance.

They did something that was kind of not right. I didn't know until I moved on to another heating and air conditioning company. They installed a new system, it was brand new. The standard recently changed. They installed an old system that was brand new, but no longer the standard set is the required. The next people said it's a new system, but it's not what we're allowed to install now.

They came out the first time because I had smelled some horrible, horrible smell coming out the closet that had the heat pump in it. There was a problem, there was a leak. He said the problem was the pump. So, he replaced the pump. When the A/C started being used again in spring. I looked again and there was water under the heat pump. This time it got under the flooring. The entire flooring had to be ripped out and replaced on the first floor of our house. In my opinion, when they diagnosed it, they diagnosed it wrong. It was coils or something. They ended up not fixing what the problem was. They ended up not wanting to take responsibility for it. They did replace the unit, but they did not want to take responsibility.

There was a little confusion on the initial scheduling as I thought I scheduled on Angie/s. Once I called and set it up, the communication was great. I rec'd a reminder text the day before and another text when the technician was on the the way. He cleaned the coils, replaced a bad wire, changed the filters, and add some coolant. AC is working much better. Nice professional rep.

They gave a 10 year warranty its been working great, I did not even bother getting it checked this year. The system was a 2.5 ton goodman not an expensive brand in which goodman gives 5 year warranty and custom air gives an additional 5 years. They were very professional they did an excellent job. They had a better price than the train brand and I have had lots of trouble with train brands.

I got a letter from the company with a bill going on about what he had done. It said $80 minus and then $0. He knew they were going to be mad at him. It was very nice. They are the only air conditioning people that I've had and I haven't been completely happy, but I've had them so many times. One time, he did the Fall check and called me down to see the mice that had been fried. They are good. They are reliable and they come when they say they are going to come.

Custom Air has been heavily advertising a discounted "Total System Rejuvenation" package on our local radio station. They state they are offering a significant discount for first time service to establish new business relationship and gain referrals. I thought it was an excellent opportunity to get to know this company for future business because we don't have a "go to" HVAC company. I submitted a form online which included my address and a couple of days later someone called me to set up the appointment. I set it up well in advance for a specific date because I was going to be off that day. I gave my address to the person on the phone to confirm the appointment. Everything seemed all set. But now - just 2 business days before my appointment I got a voicemail stating they canceled my appointment because I was outside of their service area! Now it's too late for me to find someone else to come service the unit while I'm going to already be off from work. The company had my address from the online contact form I filled out, and the lady who set my appointment confirmed my address - they could have told me I was out of their area at that time and there would have been no hard feelings. Instead, they completely wasted my time! The whole experience was just a disorganized mess. They have several phone numbers advertised but they all go to the same office in Virginia. I suppose they try to give the impression of being "local". They really missed an opportunity. The reason I scheduled the advertised special is because our system is really old, and I wanted the opportunity to get to know the company and see if they would be a good choice to replace the system in the fall. Their advertisements make them seem really great, and had they lived up to the hype, we would have hired them to replace the HVAC. At least we got a chance to see behind the scenes and see the caliber of company they really are before hiring them to do a major job. Custom Air comes across more like an MLM than a good local HVAC shop.

It went fine

It was not so great. We used them a week after the purchase date. There was no additional cost to the deal. They told me that to fix the problem was $1000 and they recommended I replace the system. The next service provider I called was able to fix it for $250. They were way off. The technician was nice and professional. I would tell others not to use this company.

My furnace went out. I called and scheduled service, and a repairman came soon enough. He went in the crawlspace where the unit is, and spent less than 5 minutes there. He told me that the draft inducer motor was bad, and the whole assembly would need replacement. He gave me a price around $950. Then he tried to sell me on a new furnace. I had him write down his estimates and said that I would consider my options. A friend helped me find some information online about how to do it myself. I took the assembly out and found that the plastic blower wheel was broken. I found one online, bought it, and put it in myself for less than $50. The motor works fine, and the furnace was all right after that. I feel that (1) his diagnosis was inaccurate, (2) he didn't make an effort to find the real problem and fix it when he was at my house, and (3) he was only interested in selling me a whole new system. All that was wrong was the broken fan part. The reason I gave a "D" grade instead of "F" is that his diagnosis did point me in the right direction (problem in the draft inducer assembly) which helped me to find out out how to fix it myself. I paid the $80 service call/diagnostic fee.

Great personality. Good information unknown to me about the condition, approximate longevity left in unit,, what to expect to help keep the unit less stressed by once a month filter changes.

It went fine. He took a picture with his phone of the two of us looking into the maw of the unit. To show it was us, there, then, and not a scam. Then he showed me the heat coils that were rusted through. Very dangerous. I'd been sick over the weekend, even slept 14 hours one night. Come to find out it was CO. I'd just turned the heat on for the first time. So glad I bought that angie's list coupon and had him over. I didn't use them to purchase the HVAC replacement only because I'd had good experience with a different company insulating my attic last year and wanted to use them.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Not only did Custom Air do all the services as advertised on the Angie's List special-- which was already a bargain-- but spent time telling me about the quality of the make, year, and model of my Heat Pump, its likely lifespan, etc. Very, very helpful . Not surprised, though-- I've had Custom Air take care of my HVAC system for years, and they've done a good job.

Received a call from the provider: they wanted to change my appointment because customers with "real" issues had called in and were having trouble with their air conditioners and they couldn't fit me in. I repeatedly told them, that I was having trouble as well and this was not about just a tune up and adding coolant. They responded that they could come, but it would be a $80.00 fee to come out (at first they could not come and then they could come for an additional $80.00). I feel because I had purchased the deal from Angie's List - my appointment was not as important + the extra $80.00. After pressing them, they came out and did a good job, although it cost me about 330.00. I am not sure I would use this service provider again, but they did fix the problem + extra charges.

Great service. My air conditioner was freezing up and they added refrigerant. Problem solved !

He took a look at it, found a loose wire and fixed it. He did a thorough inspection and told me that was the only problem with the unit. He was fast, friendly and thorough! Very happy!!

I made an appointment in mid July to have my Air Conditioning unit serviced. It's the summer and I know they are busy so I understood that the next appointment available was going to be a number of weeks away. They said they would be out between 10am and 12pm on Monday 27 July. I agreed to this and scheduled time off work to be in my home. On Friday 24th July they contacted me to confirm appointment. I said yes, I would still be available and looked forward to them servicing the air unit on Monday 27th. At 1230pm on Monday 27th July they still had not shown up. I did not hear from them, I was not contacted. I had to phone them to let them know I had to go back to work. They took my details, apologized for not showing up but I don't think this is acceptable. I can't review their work because they never showed up. I can however review their professionalism which is sadly lacking.

Work was fine but was nothing more than measuring condenser amp draw and rinsing off the condenser coil

I went with this company to do the 22-point tune-up, but also my air conditioning had stopped working. So, he replaced the part to get the a/c working, but I don't think he did the tune-up/inspection because he didn't mention it.

Reported the efficiency of both units, and noted the upstairs unit was old an unable to cool effectively. No pressure just facts
