David arrived on the agreed to time, took the back off of the TV and removed the circuit board that had the damaged components on it. He removed the damaged parts and replaced them with new parts. He then put the circuit board back in the TV, replaced the back of TV and turned the unit on to test it. He then helped me move it to where I wanted it and he was finished.

Well, the TV is working perfectly again, at an extremely reasonable cost. We will recommend Robinson Electronics highly to any and all of our neighbors who need TV repair!

The total cost of repair (including the house call and estimate) came to $195 which was much less than me having to go through the hassle and expense of purchasing a new tv.Great local service!

David came to my house, diagnosed the problem with my 42" LCD TV in a few minutes. He ordered the part, and in a few days, came back to install it, again in only a few minutes. I highly recommend him.

From initial contact through to the end repair, it was handled with professionalism and I would recommend them to any one.

After finding Robinson Electronics here on Angies's List, I gave them a call about a 50" Samsung DLP TV that had gone black. David was very helpful on the phone, stating that it sounded like a lamp gone bad. He said that he could be at our house to fix it within a few hours - and that he would bring a new lamp with him so that he could fix the problem while he was here. I was pleasantly surprised to find someone who not only offered to come check it out the same day as I called, but also sounded like he knew exactly what the problem was & probably could get it fixed on that one service call. He came as promised, was very professional yet personable, and not only replaced the lamp but also talked to us about the TV and it's performance. This is one of the best, if not THE BEST, service experiences we have ever had. I would highly recommend David Robinson and will certainly call him again when we need TV service.

We called this company early on Wednesday morning regarding our big screen tv. David answered our call immediately and listened as I described how our tv was blacking out every 30 seconds. He said it sounded like a bulb that might need to be replaced because our tv was 6 years old. After telling us he could stop by and check it out within the hour, he did just that. Within the hour he had a diagnosis for us and explained in detail the cost of the service call and how much it would cost exactly to replace the bulb. He told us he had some of this style on order and it would probably be a few days before they came. He told us he would call if the bulb came in earlier. On Friday morning (just a couple days later) David called to tell us the bulb was in and he could come right over and replace it for us. He was prompt and had the job done in a short time. While he was working he also gave us tips on how to make this new bulb last longer. He also had a lot of information at hand about the particular brand and year of our tv. David was very professional, prompt and informative...we would highly recommend his company!

Spoke to Dave 5/17 - described the problem as image almost appeared 3d, there was a large inward arc at the top & bottom of image. Was told he had the parts in stock, provided a quote & scheduled repair for 5/18 at 10 AM. He arrived on time and completed the reapir and cleaned the image tubes in about an hour and a half. Excellent job, picture quality is better than before ethe problem occured.

I spoke with the David at Robinson Electric about my Sony receiver not putting out any audio. He said the diagnosis would be $60 and would apply to the cost of repairs. I dropped my receiver off on 10/21/10 and paid $60. The owner (Rob) told me he would notify me the following week. One week passed without any call about my receiver. I called on November 2nd and asked about the status of my receiver. He told me he would call me right back. He did not call me back. I called him two day later and he said that he was out on a call and took my number and did not call back. I called the next day, and I'm not happy with the lack of follow through and getting the feeling already that it was a mistake to take my equipment to this guy. Again he promises to call me back and he did this time. He said he was just getting to my receiver to diagnose the problem and that he would call me back later that day. He did not call me back. I had to chase him down with phone calls over the next several days to get to the bottom of the problem. I even stopped by his shop and it had a sign saying "...be back in an hour." I'm very frustrated by this time. He finally left me a message the 1st week of November stating that the main board needed to be replaced and that he was waiting for a call from Sony regarding the part and should hear within a day or two. I called several times since then and he always takes my number and says that he will call me back and he does not. I called him on November 20 and he again said he would take my number and call me back. I told him this was not acceptable. Then he told me to call him back in 30 minutes. After that I file my first report with Angies List. The following Monday I called again and spoke with Mr. Robinson. He claimed that it has taken him a while to get a price on the part. He quoted me a price for the repair: $169 for the part + $115 for labor minus my $60 deposit. I told him to go ahead and repair the unit. He said it would take about a week. On December 4th I received an invoice in the mail from Robinson Electric showing zero balance due and in the description it states "No worth repairing) incorrect grammar and all. Attached was a notice that my unit would be discarded if I didn't pick it up within 15 days. I don't know how to express how upset I am after wasting $60 and 6 weeks of my time going in circles with this guy. He agrees to make the repairs then desides that it's not worth it and sends me notice to pick up my equipment before he discards it. I shouldn't be surprised that he didn't have the courtesy to call me and tell me that he would not repair my unit, after all, he only called once in 6 weeks. I was very courteous with him the entire time and never once told him what I really thought of him. I want my receiver back and I feel he should refund my $60 so that I can take the component to an reliable repair shop where it can be fixed. My advice is do not do business with this shop. The response time is terrible, they don't value the customers time, they don't honor their own committments and they avoid following up. They took my money but did not provide me with the service that I paid for. If the shop returns my $60, I will consider this matter closed. Although I really feel that the customer needs to be aware when doing business with this shop.
