Description of Work: He came out and spoke about the problem and the job that needed to be done. He shared some ideas, being the profesional he was, made some suggestions about how to do the work. He was prompt and on time, very professional. His price is right and very competitive.

+ -1 moreMelcher and Nick were very professional and did a great job. They started by cleaning gutters and had to work around some active wasps. They washed our very high windows, both inside and out, and even cleaned a drain at the bottom of our driveway. They were very polite and efficient.

Description of Work: Cleaned out all roof gutters, and all drain spouts. This was a Big Deal, and the added charge for a 3-story rear façade was very reasonable. They volunteered to blow the remaining leaves off my deck as well.

Description of Work: I responded to a special price offer to cleaning rain gutters and down spouts. The crew appeared exactly on time, removed gutter guards, used leaf blowers to clean out the gutters which had leaves and pine needles in them despite the guards and made sure the down spouts were clear and working.

The manager came out and diagnosed the problem as rainwater from a downspout emptying near the foundation. He recommended a 30 foot drain pop. They did a great job, using real PVC piping as opposed to cheap corrugated stuff. They included a pop-up drain cap at the terminus. The job was neat and professional. The workers were friendly and helpful.

+ -1 moreI wanted drainage installed from my barn. They did not want to do that and suggested a catchment system to catch the rainwater instead. This was fairly expensive and I was not comfortable with their solution to be able to handle the winter freezing weather. I went with someone else who did what I originally wanted, which has worked out fine.

+ -1 moreTheir subcontractor did not understand exactly what was required, and a small part of what they did was not as ordered. However Higher Ground corrected this with no problem. During the work Higher Ground discovered that part of the porch roof was completely rotten, and they were able to do this extra work for us in a very professional manner. So the only thing they could be marked down for was communication with their gutter sub-contractor, but overall we were very pleased and would certainly recommend this company. Higher Ground staff were all friendly and professional.
Description of Work: Higher Ground quoted to replace gutters with the new continuous type, and with gutter guards.

+ -1 moreAfter talking to HG, they made it clear that these other estimates were complete overkill. I highly recommend Higher Ground!
Description of Work: Re-routed and repaired storm drain and downspout. Very knowledgeable and professional, and was able to explain the issue and remedy in terms that were easy to understand. They also determined a reasonably priced secondary plan to implement if the original fix didn't fully resolve the leaky basement (which ultimately wasn't needed). Very responsive - one minor issue arose after they completed, but they quickly returned to resolve the problem. No more leaking in the basement even after several very heavy downpours. I chose Higher Ground after getting several quotes from other companies that ranged all the way up to $12k of what I thought was unnecessary work such as completely digging up the entire foundation to tar and seal, or installing a sump in the basement.

+ -1 moreContrary to what I was told by one of the business owners that, "they used their crew to install the guttering/downspouts". Communication was poor to non-existent at times. Crew was absent from the work site for over a week at one point without reasonable explanation. Ignored my explicit directions with regards to one aspect of the work after being communicated to their employee(s) on two different occasions. Job was finally completed to my satisfaction, but overall was a very frustrating experience. Found their pricing on jobs to be inconsistent and inflated in comparison to other firms.

+ -1 moreI did not like these people. When I called to talk to them about the Big Deal it was about window washing. I described the windows by size and number of windows prior to them coming out side. I counted them and gave the approximate sizes. They didn't come until late in the afternoon around 4 or 5 when there was little daylight left so they had to come back a second day. The man that came out was going to charge me approximately an extra 200 dollars to finish the job. They were charging me for the extra day when they came late the day before and ran out of time. They did not treat me appropriately.
