Harrington Electric Inc

We called Harrington Electric and made an appointment for an estimate for the required electrical work. Mr. Harrington provided us with a detailed description of the work required and a written estimate of the cost. On the day chosen, Mr. Harrington arrived promptly, and completed the work in a timely manner. Since he had previously contacted the utility company, by the time he had finished, the utility company had arrived to turn on the power from the main line. Mr. Harrington is prompt, professional and courteous, and we do intend to utilize his services for additional electrical work.

The work done was excellent! We did not receive a written estimate prior to work. The two workers on site took breaks, one smoking and leaving cigar butts in yard. Both took a meal break. I was unable to tell if the hours charged excluded breaks or included them. Also, they fried the existing doorbell but were able to install a back up I had bought previously. When the bill came, the fried doorbell was not reflected and the hours worked was just a total, not the specific hours. When I emailed Rick about the bill, he responded in less than 5 minutes by telephone and offered credits and apologies. He was extremely responsive and concerned that we be happy. While the electrical work done was excellent and the electricians were honest about frying the doorbell, I cannot give an A because of the items I note above. I would, however, hire Harrington again because Rick is absolutely customer oriented.

The company was very responsive and sent a worker when he was scheduled. He was on time and was very nice and friendly. He explained everything that he was doing and gave several suggestions as to why things were the way they were. He also took measurements for a quote on a possible future job. Well done and we were very pleased.

Work was very good and professional. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

I recently moved into a 20 year old condo and bought a stove, dishwasher and microwave . When they were delivered we discovred the old appliances were and quot;hardwired and quot; into the electrical system and the D/W and oven could not be installed. In addition, a plumber would be necessary. After checking Angie's List, I called Harrington Electric and talked to Betsy in their office. She was so friendly and helpful and told me she would call back. Within half an hour, she called and said they would be out between one and one-thirty on the same day! Needless to say, I was thrilled and relieved. Jeff and Sean arrived early and did a thorough assessment of a difficult situation. and quot; Hardwiringand quot; means that the old appliances were not and quot;plugged inand quot; but rather wired directly into the electrical wiring in the walls. ( As I understand it.) They immediately got to work, giving me clear explanations of what had to be done. I had been really upset about the situation and was also concerned about a plumber being needed as this progressed. They said they know a great plumber and gave me his number. While they worked, I called him and he said he had a cancellation and could come out the same afternoon. Jeff also talked to him on the phone and explained the plumbing work needed. They had to drill up into a cupboard above the stove to install the proper connection for the microwave and then install it with the metal braces in the walls etc. The dishwasher involved crawling back under the cabinets and dealing with a generally complicated / messy situation with both wiring and hoses. I will hire Harrington Electric for all work in the future and will recommend them to my friends.and my Condo Association. Jeff and Sean were/are professional, knowledgable and a pleasure to have in my home. I was very upset about this unexpected complication and expense, ( after being excited about buying new appliances ) and I was relieved and happy to have the problem solved. The price was very fair and I am so grateful for that also.

Went well in all respects. There was an initial problem with an inadequate transformer and running a line under the driveway, which they returned the next day to complete. These were unexpected complications and they charged no more for it. This kind of ethic was a real pleasure to see. Mr. Harrington was friendly and professional and competent.

They are good; I like them for all their work; they have worked for me quite a few times. They do good work, are dependable and know what they are doing. This company is fair, their prices are good and they are prompt. They are the only electrician that I use so I will use them again in the future.

Rick, the owner, sent Sam out to provide an estimate. The estimate seemed high and broad to us, and at our request, they came out a second time to review our needs more specifically and provide a more narrow range for the estimate. It was in a similar range as a competitor's estimate and we chose Harrington because they were professional and responsive. On January 5, Sam arrived right on time to begin work. He was professional and careful, checking with us before shutting off the electricity and before cutting into the wall (to make sure we were comfortable with the location and size of the hole he'd need to make). He was mindful of nearby stuff, and asked permission to move my wall-mounted computer monitor to avoid damage. He re-mounted the monitor after his work was finished. Sam finished hours earlier than anticipated, completely cleaned up his work area, and left us with a functional and much improved electrical box. Rick called first thing the next morning to make sure we were happy with the work and to schedule an inspector's visit at our convenience. Following the inspector's visit, Sam had to return and re-do the grounding, which took time in the crawlspace and some copper wire. We expected this to have a big impact on the final price, but it still matched the estimate. In all, this was as good an experience as we could hope for - quick, painless, and not too expensive - and we highly recommend Harrington Electric.

Rick came to my property within a few days of my phone call and took notes from a rough drawing of what the building would look like. Later, I had an engineer draw more detailed plans and estimate was modified slightly to match the engineer's drawing. Rick even talked to the inspection department for me regarding the timing for electrical inspections even though I have been my own contractor on this project. The work itself has been as exemplary as Rick's professionalism. I would not hesitate to hire this company again. I couldn't be more pleased.

Purchasing a mid-century home required updating many electrical areas. The home inspection noted some issues with the wiring. As a result of the inspection, I searched Angie's List for an electrical Company. I lucked out with Harrington Electric. Rick Harrington visited the home, did a thorough inspection of every possible electrical aspect. His estimate for correcting the home inspection deficiencies as well as my remodel requests was easy to understand, very well written, and provided a line by line item description of each aspect of the work, the quantity, rate and amount. The manner in which the estimate was presented exceeded my expectations. Rick reviewed each item to ensure that I understood the pricing . He also allowed time for me to ask questions. He treated me as if I were his only customer. Harrington Electric provided outstanding value for money spent. During the job process there were several occasions where either Rick or his team called to suggest a better approach to one of my remodel items. Examples include: outlet placement, cable TV placement and lighting. Their suggestions were always right ! Another example was the exterior electrical cable running from the house to the pole. Rick suggested that I call the electric company to bury the cable. The reason was twofold: (1) buried cable is less susceptible to wind/ weather weather damage, (2) it would reduce the install cost of how the external meter was set. The price paid to the electric company cancelled out a large portion of the meter install cost. Not only was this suggestion technically right, it was aesthetically superior. I would not have known that burying the cable was an option if it weren't for Rick Harrington. The estimated quoted price for the job was the price paid. The estimate include an Angie's List coupon. There are no hidden costs with this Company. Everyone I met with Harrington Electric possesses high standards. They are honest, technically proficient, professional and demonstrate great communication skills. All of my electric work will go to Harrington Electric. I will be contacting them in the future for a kitchen remodel and a generator installation. Rick, Sam and MIke are most likely in high demand but I will wait patiently to get on their schedule. Their finished work leaves you with a great sense of safety and a job well done. If all of the above isn't enough to encourage someone to give them a call, then perhaps my last comment will help. My dog, a great judge of people, loved these guys !

From the beginning Rick was prompt and courteous. He answered my questions and scheduled a date. Rick had given me an estimate to replace the exhaust fan but had not identified the product he planned to use. I asked him what it was and he told me. I proceeded to do some research online and found the unit he was proposing. It looked to be a good unit. The only problem I had was that is was rated at 4 sones (noise level) and everything I read recommended 2.5 sones. I allowed it to be installed anyway and now wish I had picked a unit that was in the 2.5 sone range, though the new unit is about the same noise level as the previous one. On the day of work I had asked the workers to call me on my cell phone prior to arriving at my house. I was in a meeting and did not hear when they first called. The next time they called they were already at my house. I apologized and arrived at my house 30 minutes later they were not upset and did not charge me for making them wait. The two workers were very professional and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with the experience and will not hesitate to use or recommend them again.

We were not disappointed with our experience and found it to be in keeping with "A" reports on Angie's List. We highly recommend Harrington electric.

The electricians from Harrington Electric, Inc. Company did a great job. They were professional and reliable. They did the work quickly. We didn't have any trouble with them at all. They even taught my son, who is a mechanical engineer how to do wiring. We would use them in the future.

Mr. Harrington was very helpful and pleasant to work with over the phone and scheduled an appointment right away. The two men that came to my house worked quickly and the work was done just as I was told it would be (one-hour service call - no more). While they were here, they also fixed a couple of plugs for me. I will definitely call them again - I appreciate other people's recommendations on Angie's List because that's why I chose them.

Mike arrived to trouble shoot the peoblem. He was very knowledgable and went about his work with confidence. I have some electrical knowledge, but am too old to go crawling around unfinished attics. This was a very good fix by mike. One wire at one switch out of four switches, five lights , seven outlets and one doorbell, was frayed and touching a ground wire.

Three electricians worked non-stop an entire day w/only one short lunch break. Everyone was friendly, polite, and they explained what they were doing. These guys arrived on time and cleaned up when the work was complted. My overall experience was A+

Called Harrington for quote and made appointment for 4 days hence. Crew arrived as scheduled with all equipment necessary for the task. Friendly, helpful, professional. Did all work as described above within estimated time quote. Cleaned up meticulously.
