Installation spanned several weeks, due to no fault of theirs. County engineers changed code regulations that required an upgraded size generator, which Harrington provided at minimal cost over original estimate and did work in a timely manner. They also provided instruction on operation and were always punctual, clean and professional. Would HIGHLY recommend to all. Use with confidence.

**After my report below Mr. Harrington and I exchanged quite civil emails which clarified new information for both of us. This resulted in Rick taking an additional $60 off my invoice and I am a totally satisfied customer. I believe that Harrington Electric does quality work at a fair price with an owner who cares about his customers and his firms' reputation.** Rick was able to quote a price over the phone ($400) for the above work and he stuck to that price. I had 2 other electricians come out for estimates and they were both higher. Two men arrived on schedule and were very professional. We had 2 minor and 1 larger issue. I had to leave before they finished. I gave them details of how I wanted the TV cables connected in the basement (which drops to remove in order to connect the new ones). When I returned they said that they did not make the connections because they did not know how to work my remote control. This was rather minor although I did have to carry a ladder down and make the connections myself. When they added a new light in the garage they used a fluorescent fixture that I provided. It did not come fully on and they explained that it was unusually cold and it would take a while for the ballast to warm up. When it was still dim several hours later I decided that either the fixture (which I supplied) was bad or a fluorescent was not the best choice for the garage. I felt that since they had run the wire and connected it to a switch I could easily swap the fixture for an incandescent one. (Since I supplied the fixture it was obviously not their responsibility). I was surprised when I took the fluorescent fixture down that there was no electrical box in place for me to connect my new fixture. I called Rick who explained that they do not install boxes for fluorescent fixtures. He did however offer to have his guys return and install a box at no additional charge. They were back the next morning. I was very happy with this response and they also offered to install the new fixture at no cost. Now the one issue that I do consider major: While the men were here I asked about adding another switch to an existing light. My words were that I would like it done if it did not look like it would be too expensive a job (rather inexact language I admit). Based on the detailed estimate for the other work, with each task being between $50 and $100, this is what I was expecting. I was very surprised to get an invoice listing Time and Material for this one switch at $196. His guys told him it took the 2 of them two full hour (at $80 each) to install this switch - and another $36 in parts. When I called Rick he said that if I had called him at the time he would have talked to his men and given me a firm bid - but this way it was done at Tand M. He did agree to take $40 off. Bottom line, the original price was fair and the work was done well. If I have more work to be done I will probably call them again - however I would only work from firm quotes.

Rick Harrington arrived on time to look over the house and plan the job. He was very polite and professional, and emailed me an estimate for the work the next day. We scheduled an appointment for the work. On the day the work was scheduled, two of Rick's employees arrived on time and with all the necessary materials. Both were as professional and polite as Rick. They knew exactly how to place the new cans and ceiling fan. All that I had to do was get out of the way and let these gentlemen work. Their craftsmanship was impeccable and they carefully cleaned up after work was completed. Before they left, Rick stopped by to inspect the work. This was the easiest experience that I have ever had involving work on any home that I have owned, and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Harrington Electric to anyone in need of an electrical contractor.

Was so easy, they are very professional. Rick's suggestions are right on the money. The installation went so well, we had them back and added more lighting twice!! I think that speaks for i'ts self.

We wanted to replace overhead lines to our barn with a buried line. Rick came promptly and offered several options. We chose the quickest and least expensive. He had his men out here the day we wanted them. They did excellent work, and the job came in under the estimate. And they were careful not to let our cats and dogs escape.If and when we find we need to upgrade the service, we'll be calling on him again.

Rick came out the next day, evaluated the proposed work and gave me an estimate. His men came out after I had dug the ditch for laying wire from my house to a tool shed. They did all the wiring work in about 4 hours. They were friendly, fast and very professional. This was the second job that they had done for me.

Great job! I called Harrington Electric and Rick came out the next day to look at what would be involved. The next day he gave me the information on available generators and gave me a quote for the work. Before I gave him the job, I researched generator prices and got a second quote. I selected Harrington because he gave me a very competitive price, but more importantly he was much more thorough and professional in his evaluation than the other company. His employees were prompt, friendly and very professional. I look forward to using them again.

Everything went great. They came out within an hour of the phone call and quickly took care of the problem.

They did great work. I talked to the owner on the phone to get the price quote and schedule a time. His 2 workers showed up on time and were finished in the the time they said they would. Great work!

I called and immediately spoke with the owner, Rick, who set up an appointment for me the next day and was very amenable to working within my business' time constraints. About 10 minutes later he called back and said his crew was finished early with their previous job and could come out right away. So within about 2 hours of the initial call, the job was done! The technician was very friendly, professional and knew exactly what to do. I couldn't be more pleased!

All of the work went well, right on time. Very professional, trustworthy and efficient. Reasonable prices.

I spoke with Rick over the phone and he gave me an estimate to install the heaters I had already purchased. He said two men could do it in one day and it shouldn't be over $1000.00. This was less than two other bids I had. Mark and Mike came out within three days and I confirmed the price with them. They were both professional and friendly and did a nice job of running the wiring in the basement. They finished the job sooner than expected so the total was only $645.00. We will use them again and highly recommend them.

I think that they did a great job. They did not have the easiest job, but were able to do what we wanted. They showed up on time and did the job quickly. They charged what they quoted. We were very happy with them.

He quoted me what I thought was a fair price. He installed it when he said he would and they came back to check it later that day. Everything went just fine.

They said if I find the fixture, we will install it for $90. He told me to find the fixture because he wanted me to be happy with it. I ended up finding the fixture and then installing it myself because it was a pre-existing fixture so all of the wiring was done. If it wasn't pre-existing I would have had them install it. Overall, they came out when they said they would and I was pleased with that.

They returned all phone calls promptly. The owner scheduled the work and told us who to expect and when to expect them. The workers were prompt, polite, and efficient. They cleaned up after the work and left the house in perfect condition. Replacing the whole house fan was complicated, and they stuck with it until the problem was solved.

Excellent -- Rick is courteous and fast. He delivered a quote via email, came out the next day to walk through what would be done, and then sent one of his team out the following day to do the work. The work was done on time, for the quoted price, and everything was done professionally and the work site was completely cleaned up.

I called and got Rick on the phone right away. He was friendly and got me on the schedule the following week. The two electricians that showed up were congenial, professional, and neat. The installation was done in a manner that looks clean. They also tidied up a couple of things the previous electrician left hanging. They also removed a strange connection coming from the underside of the electrical panel. I thought it has to do with an old circuit that had been removed. In actuality it was a temporary hookup from the panel to the old meter that was supposed to have been disconnected by either Duke Power or our previous electrician but was still live. A child could have stuck his/her fingers in the open meter box and gotten electrocuted! By phone Rick gave a not-to-exceed estimate of $200 which he honored even though the total for parts and labor was closer to $300. We have no doubt we will use Harrington for any electrical work in the future.

The whole experience was great. The crew worked professionally throughout the house and cleaned up the site when they were done. They will be the contractor for the bath rebuild.

He emailed (quickly) a written estimate that was clear and easy to understand. His team of two came by to complete the work as it was agreed upon. They were prompt, friendly and professional. They were even kind enough to move a vent to another location after I didn't like where I had told them to put it.
