They came and picked up promptly, did a good job, but did not call me when the carpet was promised to be ready. I had to call them to remind them. They then delivered it on time.

Carpet cleaning, like rotating tires and getting an oil change, is one of those things you need to do, but often put off, primarily because it seems to be just a hassle. Not anymore. 5-Step (and they really do use a five-step process) did a great job cleaning our carpeting. We got a great estimate quickly, Scott worked us until the schedule , they arrived on time and got to work. I like lots of info, so Scott explained the entire method that includes the pre-treats, then a system that aggravates the carpeting, then extracts, and dries. We had some pretty dirty hall berber carpeting, so it took a little while longer to dry in some places, but no complaints. I did some pre-lim moving of some furniture, but they also did light moves as well. I won't put it off so long next time. This will become a routine just like an oil change now! Plus, there wasn't a cloying, sweet smell of too-perfumey after smell...from cleaners... Just a clean, fresh smell (and I'm very sensitive to odors). And, I'm going to have them do the marble foyer next.

That was okay, I remember what they came out to do and they didn't. They couldn't do exactly what I expected them to do. They were going to come out to re-finish some hardwood floors in the house, but once they got there, they determined that they were engineer-hardwood floor, at least according to his professional opinion. So the normal method of cleaning those and leaving them with it, won't shine. They didn't have the tools or supplies to do that with, very adequately. It was really more of just a superficial cleaning, so it did not give us the result that we are looking for. So again while the end result wasn't what we expected, they were professional enough, and he actually provided me some feedback as to what other or I'm not sure what we could get, to make the floor look what we wanted, and that has worked out since. So I would probably give them at least a B.

I am very satisfied with the carpet cleaning provided by Scottie. He was very professional and efficient and I was very happy to have a green cleaning product used on my floors. The price was lower than expected based on past experiences with carpet cleaners. I would definitely use him for future cleanings.

The provider wanted to rigidly adhere to the exact terms of the BIG DEAL, but my lay-out was somewhat different . Since they were not flexible, I passed on them.

They showed up earlier than promised, worked diligently, & got the job done quickly. Perfect service. The 6-year-old carpeting looks completely refreshed. Would definitely hire again.

The person who cleaned the carpet said that the stains were gone. However, when the carpet dried they were still there. I believe the stains are in the padding beneath the carpet and the carpet will need to be replaced. So it is not the fault of the cleaning service.

VERY satisfied with the results. The team arrived promptly and got right to work. They were able to clean my two area rugs in the house (which saved me money AND time), as well as the wall-to-wall carpets. All carpets suffered from normal wear and tear plus pet indiscretions, and everything looks so much better now. They deodorized the rugs, too, so the house smells fresh.

We are bed and breakfast owners. Today at check out we noted many areas of dark black staining occurring all the way down our staircase after a guest left our upper floor room. We found this same substance on the carpet in their room. Normally, we tend to this kind of thing ourselves but the type of stain, coupled with it's profusion and resistance to come up with our traditional methods made me re-thing proceeding. I sought out Angie's list. I cannot say enough good about this company. With no notice at all (any more than we had) I explained to Scott's answer machine my plight. In very short order, we were phoned back. Scott immediately dispatched his son to our inn. He arrived promptly at the time we'd been told to expect him, evaluated the stain and immediately set out to remediate our problem. We were worried about this stain. It seemed to smear significantly at our attempts to remove it and the carpet is a very light beige. Within a very short period of time both flights of steps and the guest room were restored to our complete satisfaction. We are very fastidious regarding our idea of clean for guests and this company renders an EXCELLENT job. I would like to add that the Stanley Steamer folks, my usual "go to" company had arrived earlier, adding to my worries, when without any kind of evaluation or effort to clean it at all, deemed the carpet "unable to be cleaned." My new carpet cleaners are Five Step Carpet Cleaning. The will be doing our living room carpet in January. To take this a step further. the pricing was more than completely fair. These folks knew. because we have an entire house full of people, that we were between a rock and a hard place. They did not press their advantage in that regard. As a result of that and their completely responsive business model and their excellent work, they have our business moving forward. They've earned it. Thanks so very, very much. We had numerous very bad spots in a light carpet. They were from our dog having thrown up and we were unable to get them out on our own. The fellow that came out used various machines and was able to get all the spots out. He was prompt, polite and really knew how to deal with the problem. There was never any attempt to get extra money. We will definitely use this service again.

5 Step Carpet Care cleaned the carpets in our three bedrooms. They arrived promptly and cleaned the carpets. Stains that we thought would never have come out in fact did. This is the 3rd time we have used this company. In all cases the service has been superb.

Very personable and professional and got the job done quickly. The carpets looked fantastic when they were done. They showed up within their window and were actually apologetic they were not earlier as they had hit bad traffic on the way (which they had called to let me know). I would definitely use them again.

I will not go back to using my previous carpet cleaners after experiencing Five Step. I purchased the coupon for $119, which included 4 rooms carpet cleaning up to 600 sq. ft. and Green guard. They were very prompt to schedule and they were here within days. After they arrived and we discussed what was to be cleaned, I decided to add a carpeted stairway and landing and I asked them to give special attention to areas in each room where my large dog had had accidents and to another stained area where a large clean air machine's lower filter had left a stubborn black dust residue on the light carpet. I don't recall the pricing details but this added an additional $84. I thought that was reasonable, especially since one of the rooms was a large double room in the lower level and all the stains required additional time and product. There was minimal interaction required because they knew exactly what they were doing and were very experienced and very professional. They were in and out in a short time and I will use them from now on.

Scott and his colleague did a great job. They were on time and worked efficiently (but did not rush the job). We have used Five Step for area rugs, too, and have always been happy with the results. If all companies operated like Five Step, there would be no need for Angie's List. They are responsive and fairly priced.

My dog had stressed from moving and peed on my area rug. Although I immediately used special cleaners, I had it professionally cleaned so that it was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

He is incredible. I can't say enough about him. He is very timely. Our dog has puddled a couple of times, and I was going to call him. I have used him a couple of times. I paid in cash, and got a discount. He was cheaper than anybody I talked to. He is very respectful, and he is a great guy. All the rugs have to go out, he took them and when they came out, they were so clean, I didn't remember the pattern. He was at least $200 cheaper than anybody, and I had called 3 people. He remembered which way the rugs were, and they were spun in a different direction, and he showed me how to do it. He taught me something. He came when he said, and he was ready to deliver when he said.

I have used 5 Step before with great results so was happy to call them again for this job. Chris (I think) arrived early and got right to work. He did the entire job in about an hour, quickly, efficiently and in good humor. I enjoyed working with him and the carpets look terrific.

It went great. They were right on time, no problem finding us (which most people do), were extremely efficient and thorough. It looked great when they were done.
