Our pump battery light came on indicating a problem. We first contacted another company who ultimately stood us up ( another review for Angie's List ).After we called Able they came out immediately to examine the problem, and later pumped out our septic tanks. We were impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of Michael Hollifield. They were able to access the tanks from below the woods with no problem,as our driveway is very steep. We were given advise and a contact to address the pump failure. We are pleased and satisfied with this company and reccomend them highly.

I called ABLE, and they came out that afternoon. Michael Hollifield was our technician. He assessed the situation and assured me that everything was going to be okay. I was afraid we might have to have a new septic tank. We had a clog in our pipes that ran from the house into the septic tank. He removed that clog and cleaned out our septic tank. He gave me some tips on how to keep our septic tank and drain pipe from the house in good condition. Thanks Michael.

Talked to Gary first who told us that it is an extra $50 to find the opening so we dug it up plus an extra $50 for Saturdays. I decided to take a day off to avoid the extra $50. Scheduled an appointment and they never showed up. We called and they try to reschedule and we didn't. We called AAA who is coming this Saturday at no extra cost.

There were quite a bit of solids that were on on the top that he had to break apart to be able to pump it. I thought that we might be charged more because of that. However, he charged the exact price quoted. We have used another service in the past that we were pleased with the service but felt they were a bit expensive. So after reading on Angie's List and getting a feel for the price, we decided to try Able. We were very pleased.

We had a strange leak in the backyard, and it appeared to be sewage related. I called Able, they sent out Michael Holifield and he not only figured out the problem and fixed it, but suggested some improvements so, when we have any issues again it will not be such a problem. Then, he gave me the contact for the health department so I can get more information on our system, since we just bought the house.

The driver, Michael, was professional and very informative about our system from a rough sketch we were given at closing and looking at the lay of the land. Tank was fine - have an issue with a distribution box that we need to deal with and he suggested a great person for that. Truly appreciative of all his advice and how minimal the digging area was! Impressive as the other reviews have indicated. :)

My tank was buried approximately 5' underground. My previous septic cleanout person of 15 years plus had long ago recommended, and installed, a 6and quot; pvc tube that descended 5' to the tank lid, and the pvc tube was glued to the tank lid, so digging down to remove the lid would be unnecessary for clean outs. The hose was just dropped down the 6and quot; tube for cleanings and that's how I had the septic tank cleaned for 15 + years. That sounded good to me and many years ago I had that work done. Michael demonstrated to me that when he dropped the vacuum hose in the 6and quot; pvc tube, the hose essentially had no mobility and just sucked up whatever was directly underneath the 6and quot; pvc tube. Think of using your own home vacuum cleaner and you drop the hose 5 feet down a 6and quot; tube to vacuum your living room. You can't move the hose past where it drops down and therefore, you can't vacuum other parts of the room. You're stuck hovering over a 6and quot; area. To show just how ineffective this was, Michael dug down to the lid, a 20and quot;x20and quot; square lid, removed it, and demonstrated how he had to get on his knees, and move the vacuum hose in all directions to pull the solids to the hose. Once the area was cleaned, he then demonstrated getting on his knees with a shovel and reaching back into the tank and pulling forward a disgusting and 6' think blanket of solids that had to be pulled to the lid opening so the vacuum hose could suck it up. It was clear after watching him struggle side to side, always pulling solids towards the lid opening for vacuuming that all of my prior septic cleanups only sucked up an area directly beneath the 6and quot; pvc tube...a completely useless exercise. Michael was literally cleaning out 20 years of solids that was never vacuumed out for the past 15+years in all of the prior clean outs. Wow...and I was standing there and saw it with my own eyes. It does cost to have a person dig like this and Michael recommended that I install 24and quot; clean outs over a 1' riser in both the intake part of the tank and outtake part of the tank to make future cleanings more effective and involve less digging. This large opening (instead of the sickly 6and quot; pvc tube) in both locations would allow a clean out such as demonstrated by Michael..where using a 6' shovel, the solids can be pulled from all directions to the opening for clean out. I absolutely saw the need for this and bought the two 24inch riser kits, each lid screwed in about 8 locations to the two 1 foot risers. My outtake had never been cleaned as it has to be accessed through another opening in the tank that my previous clean out person never even lifted the lid all these years. The total add on for the 2 riser kits was $375. I also replaced the sanitary tee for $125 as the one in the outtake portion was completely rotted and fell apart into crumbs when Michael touched it with his shovel. So my total for the written inspection and report, plus stress test, pumping out 20 years worth of solids, two 24and quot; riser kits and a new sanitary tee in the outtake was $900. I will never, ever use anyone but Able Septic to clean out my tank again. They are fabulous! And ask for Michael Hollifield to be the person who does the work. A++..so happy...so relieved to know that a competent person will provide this service for my family in the future.

They are very good. They were not able to help us with the problem we were having so he did not charge us for his call to come here to review the issue. They are just excellent. We called them on a Sunday and it just so happened that their man on call was already out doing someone else so they came Monday morning at 8 o'clock, bright and early.

Chase from Able Septic did an outstanding job. He was punctual and reliable. He coordinated his schedule with our realtor, Buck Heatherly of Beverly-Hanks Realtors, to do an inspection and pump-out of the septic tank as part of the due diligence before closing. They met on the appointed day, but the septic system was not marked. Chase flushed a locator transmitter down the toilet to locate the septic tank, which ended up being 7-feet underground with no easy access and very close to a retaining wall. To access the tank for inspection and pumping, it would have to be hand-dug. Chase charged us $100 for the service call and $45 for the transmitter. He estimated that the cost of hand-digging down to the tank and installing risers and pumping and inspecting the system could run as high as $2000. We waited until after the closing to invest the extra money. The Sellers also contributed money toward the work. After the home purchase, Chase came back out with our realtor to complete the job and to also install the risers to make it easier for future pump-outs and inspections. The entire cost of his work came to $1835, which was under his estimate. We are extremely happy with the work he performed and the manner in which he coordinated his schedule with Buck Heatherly, our realtor. I was able to call and speak with both Chase and his father-in-law, Gary, during the entire process. Great folks.

Jody was good with scheduling and explaining services to be provided. They provided next day service for an inspection. Technician was courtous and helpful in explaining what he was doing. They went out of their way to provide extra service we needed.

ABLE SEPTIC TANK deserves an A for all categories. They were great and I would hire them in the future.
