We are extremely pleased with the work. The porches look amazing! We had a few hiccups with the front porch, but those were identified and fixed immediately. The crew was respectful to our home and worked efficiently to get the job done right. We will definitely be hiring them again.

I hired Rodriquez Flooring to refinish750 square feet of wood floors in a rental house. The crew arrived on time as scheduled and went to work. The first day they completed sanding and applied the stain. The next two days they applied the two coats of polyurethane. The floors turned out beautifully and the price was most reasonable. I would definitely hire this company again, as they were very professional and did a great job for me.

DAY 1. Completed removing old linoleum flooring; Sanded original hardwood floors; Repaired some staple holes in the hardwood floors; Applied 1st layer of polyurethane coating. DAY 2: Return in 24 Hours and applied 2nd coat of polyurethane. DAY 3: Returned in 24 Hours and applied 3rd coat of polyurethane. Note: They called each day about 30 minutes in advance to let us know when to expect them. The price I paid was exactly what was quoted. Overall Quality of Work: 10/10 On Time / Responsiveness: 10/10 Cleaning Kitchen each day: 10/10 Cleaning up mess after all work completed: 9.5/10 (I had to remind them to remove large trash bags from yard.) Yes. I will definitely use and recommend Rodriguez Flooring, and I look forward to doing business with them on my next hardwood flooring restoring project.

Mr. Rodriquez met with me within a couple of days of my initial call. And though it appeared that he was a busy man, he returned all of my subsequent calls, directly. There were a few times when we were not able to move our project along as quickly as I would have liked, but I appreciated Mr. Rodriquez fitting the different stages of our project into his schedule. I was most impressed with how honest Mr. Rodriquez was about my flooring needs and that he came up with cost effective solutions for my problems. I also appreciated him pointing out some variances with my flooring--that one room's floors had recently been replaced--and for telling me (in advance) how this variance might affect the look of the end result (the stain coloring). Rodriquez Flooring's workers were friendly, efficient, and accommodating. His crew(s) came in and didn't waste any time getting started on our project. I was pleased that the sanding/staining crew took extra care to minimize any spread of saw dust, by taping off the opening of my kitchen. (Though, there wasn't much dust from the sanders to begin with.) The crew did a great job with repairing several holes that had been drilled into the flooring, and they also repaired divots and sanded down pet stains in the wood, that had been a result of previous abuse and neglect. Each stage of the process was completed and left clean, before the crew went home. The time it took to refinish my floors was longer than expected; though the whole job still only took four work days. (The additional day was due to humidity, and the floors needing more drying time.) And while I could have stood to have the floors stained a bit darker--the stain lightened a bit over the drying process--the color of the finished product is so beautiful I don't mind not getting the exact shade I wanted. I would definitely use Rodriquez Flooring in the future.

My experience does not match those of other reviewers. My floor was only 7 years old and had two main trouble spots- living room and the hallway by a door to the outside. My initial call was not answered for several days...which should have been my first clue. I had specific dates that I would be out of town and he agreed to do the work during that time. He then called the day I was supposed to leave and tried to change the dates. (Second clue). He wanted to charge 175 to move my few furnishings onto the screened back porch and then back in when they were done. To save some money I moved all but 2 pieces out there myself. I tagged each piece so they would know what room it belonged to. He agreed to move it back in for half the original moving quote. My floor, being factory finished, originally had an exceptionally smooth finish, except where water had discolored the edges of some boards. I talked to him about staining it a bit darker, and he told me no, it would show scratches. I asked about an extra coat of polyurethane to make sure the floor was really waterproof. I provide foster care to,dogs for brother wolf and accidents happen. He said that they did 2 coats of gloss, and a top coat of satin, and that's it. This did not inspire confidence that I was being listened to, and this turned out to be the case. When I returned after a week abroad, exhausted. I opened the door to an empty house. Only the two pieces he had moved were back in the house, despite our agreement , the labels I had put on everything, and the charge to move it all back in. But the bigger surprise was the floor. Instead of the smooth finish I had started with, the floor now has deep grooves in the wood grain, and when you feel it, the grooves feel rough, not smooth. So instead of having an easy-care smooth floor, I now have a rutted, uneven floor. The grain is so rough, it feels like it was sanded with very rough paper, and never smoothed with a finer grit before they put the poly down. It's also hard to imagine how 3 coats of poly could leave a floor feeling so rough. In my younger days, I refinished my own floors, and they came out better than this job. I called the owner, and he came out to assess my concerns. I was exhausted from jet lag, and I feel like he just said things to placate me. "I don't know how they get such a smooth finish from the factory...but this is how it comes out when we do it by hand" I showed him a gouge and lack of poly along a door in my hallway, and he said "oh yeah, along the edges this happens " When I asked how the floor could possibly feel so rough with 3 coats of poly on it...he got quite defensive and said he put the three coats on himself. (I had someone looking after my house for me while I was gone, and she said someone else did all the work, but I have no actual proof of that) I have a feeling they sent a new, or untested team to do the job, knowing I was out of town and couldn't check. If not, the only other explanation is that they just did a very very mediocre job on my floors. He did remove the charge for moving the furniture. There was no real excuse..he said he didn't know when I was coming back, but I left a large note with the name and number of the person taking care of my house . When I reminded him of that fact, he admitted it would have made sense to call her and ask.

Now, we had extensive water damage from an overflow sink in the kitchen. In turn the floors has buckled and warped. After Service Masters came in to remove the water (1 week total) we waited another 2 weeks before employing Rodriquiz Flooring. We wanted to make sure that the Red Oak was ready for sanding and there was not moisture left in the wood. Now, when they arrived they spent 21 MAN HOURS to sand the floor to get it smooth and even. They also used wood filler to fill any cracks in the wood. 5 different sanders were used. Extensive hand work was also done around the base boards that required scrapping and hand sanding. The floor had extensive "cupping" which they addressed with the various types of sanding equipment. After the floor was smooth, they applied the stain. Then after 24 hours, they applied the STAIN SEALER. Then after 24 hours, they again sanded again since the grain of the wood expanded. Then the applied the first coat of POLY. Then 48 hours later they applied the 2nd coat of POLY. So, we had 3 COATS on our new floor. We used HIGH GLOSS POLY, which really looks great. It is noted that some of their crew are all family related, so they were extra careful during their work. Besides sanding they also took the time to vacuum each time to pick up the dust. We did cover all of our cabinets with plastic and also removed all the quarter round molding around the baseboards prior to their arrival. This helps to control the dust that occurred during the sanding process. They also installed plastic at each entry point into the kitchen and Great room. They re-finished about 600 square feet. Now, no other proposed vendor went into the extensive detail that was required to get our floors back to the original condition. Some vendors wanted to remove and replace all of our flooring. Other vendors did not want to use our stain that we had specified. Other vendors would only do 2 coats which would not be sufficient for the look that we wanted. We did rent a "Mini-Pod" to store our furniture and that worked well with us since we did not have any place to store our furniture and get it out of the way so the work could be done. I WOULD RECOMMEND RODRIQUEZ FLOORING TO ANYONE WHO WANTS THE JOB DONE RIGHT!!!!!
Description of Work: What a GREAT crew! He was most responsive and received an Email proposal within one day with the estimate. He was the only one that discussed what and how the job was to be done. We had received 4 estimates. He was not the highest or the lowest, but based upon previous reviews he was right in the middle. They were timely and showed up for the each day (5 days total). They were caring and did just a great job.

All the great reviews I read about Mr. Rodriguez and his crew are true/accurate. He was personally responsive in both estimating the work and showing up to start/complete the job. Excellent communication in planning/scheduling. His price was very reasonable. They moved the limited (but heavy) furniture, completed the work on time and helped me replace the items after the floors had dried. I recommend him highly and will happily hire him in the future when I do some remodeling and need parts of the floors repaired.

I had recently purchased a home which had been unoccupied for several years and has wood floors. Having read the horror stories on the internet on maintenance of wood floors, I wanted to ensure that my floors were sealed and was prepared for the bill. Francisco replied promptly to my request via Angies List and sent up an appointment for a couple of days later. He called on the appointment day and said he could come early if that were okay with me. He came in, walked around, and told me that I had good hardwood floors that were finished at the factory and the finish was still very good. I asked if I could get another coat of polyurethane (again the horror stories). He looked at me (probably thought I was crazy) and calmly explained that in order to apply polyurathane he wood have to strip the floors otherwise the poly would not penetrate and would peel off. He said to call him in 5-6 years. I am very appreciative of his HONESTY. He could have sold me on refinishing or worse applying another topcoat. I look forward to calling him in 5-6 years.

They certainly weren't as professional as the Lowe's people. The Lowe's people's measurements were more accurate, they used laser measurements rather than tape measures. The pricing was considerably better for both the wood and, I have nothing against Rodriquez, they were just about twice the cost.

Prompt response and return of phone calls. Neat and professional in the work. No mess left. Did several extra things not initially in our agreement for no extra cost. Description of Work: Francisco Rodriguez, owner was very responsive and arranged for a free estimate to sand and refinish our hardwood floors downstairs using bona natural finish. The estimate became the actual price. His three permanent employees sanded and refinished the floors with 3 coats of bona. The job was started on 6/2/14 and completed on 6/4. we were able to use the floors on 6/5. We were very pleased with the results. They were actually a sub contractor to our general contractor. There was no much the general contractor had to do other than schedule the work. They show up when scheduled, work in a highly efficient manner and do excellent work. There price is excellent. I watched them install the kitchen floor and it was amazing to see the efficiency of the work. They had to blend the new floor into an existing hardwood floor in the adjacent room. They did that extremely well. While you can still see some difference from an 80 year old floor and the new one due to difference in the wood grain and use on the older floor, the work they did to blend them was excellent. We have another rental property and plan on using them again to refinish those floors.
Description of Work: They sanded and refinished our oak hardwood floors throughout the entire house. This totaled over 2400 sf of hardwood flooring. They also installed a new hardwood floor in our kitchen and in two closets.

I found Mr. Rodriguez on Angie's List. He immediately responded to my call and went to look at the job the next day. This work was for an extremely meticulous customer who believed we damaged their floor during an electrical installation. This may have been the case, but my employee claims there's nothing we could have done that damaged the floor in such a way. The point is, it was already a delicate situation and I was concerned that trying to repair the floor would simply compound the issue. Mr. Rodriguez sent me a quote immediately after seeing the job and at my approval completed the repair within a day or two. The customer was extremely satisfied with the work and the problem was resolved. Being a contractor who also offers services and deals with clients on a daily basis, I was extremely impressed with the manner in which Mr. Rodgriguez conducts his business and the quality of his workmanship.

Francisco of Rodriguez Flooring was very responsive and was able to fit me in their schedule in under 2 weeks. His cost estimate was very reasonable and about $500 less than another estimate I received. They've got floor refinishing down to an exact science. Francisco alerted me that he had some concern that they might damage the original shoe molding in the 1920s house which would be difficult to remove without causing it to break. But they were able to sand the floors well without any damage to the shoe molding. The new hardwood flooring they installed in the closet matched very well with the existing flooring. The one request I had was to use a non-toxic product called Poly-Whey by Vermont Naturals rather than a standard polyurethane, because of the toxic off-gassing. Francisco was not familiar with the Poly-Whey product, and how it would perform, but he was willing to give it a try for me. He did some research including visiting a local seller of the product to make sure he was comfortable with the application method (apparently it dries a lot faster than standard polyurethane). The floors came out terrific and it's the one thing almost everyone comments on when they walk into the house. I should note that I purchased all of the Poly-Whey and it took about 5 gallons to cover than 730 sf of floor, at an additional cost of about $400 (it's pricey). Having a natural non-toxic floor product was worth the extra expense. I was impressed with Francisco's responsiveness, professionalism, flexibility, low-key style and high quality work. I see why they get such good reviews on Angie's List. I'd definitely call them again for any flooring and would highly recommend them. One other note I should mention was that I also requested an estimate to pressure-wash, sand and stain my back deck, which badly needed maintenance. His estimate was significantly higher than another estimate I received, so I opted not to use him for the back deck. So it's always good to compare prices. But the work they did inside the house was top notch.
