Description of Work: I have a roof leak and I asked the provider to assess the situation and offer a quote. He told my wife he could fix the problem right then. He was on the roof less than 30 minutes and told me after the fact the charge was $100. During the next rain the leak was worse than before the "repair" was done. I paid the provider $25, citing he did not do as I asked, and his repair made the problem worse.

Description of Work: Steve Rulli and his associate, Danny, came out and resealed all the nail pops in the roof and resealed a flashing around one of the roof vents above the area where the leak occurred. The were very responsive and definitely appeared to know what they were doing. I watched them as they started the work and was impressed. I asked Steve to give me an estimate on a total roof replacement for both shingle and metal. I have already received some estimates, so I have a good idea what it should cost. The life remaining on the shingles on my roof is approximately 6 years (according to at least 3 sources). So I know there is a roof replacement somewhere down the road. I would probably go with the Mad Roofer if his estimate matches or is better that the other roofers.

Description of Work: We rescheduled several times because of rain and they did not show on the day they were supposed to when it wasn't raining. However, they explained it was a clerical error with my address in their system and they showed up early the next day to take care of it. I was very pleased with the work they did and their level of transparency. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: His helper was on the phone conducting personal business from the minute they arrived, while climbing ladder and climbing on top of my roof until he was back in truck. Made me VERY nervous, God forbid if he fell off roof! Then he wanted to conduct an ridiculous amount of work to my gutters when I just have a minor problem.

+ -1 moreThey said they would dispose of some materials from the job and I later found them stacked behind an outbuilding on the property. The job looked good, but the next spring there was evidence of continued leakage. At that point I decided to use another company.

+ -1 moreExcellent! Steve was the only roofer who gave me a bid with every item detailed and priced so I could understand what was involved and ask questions. That's so much more professional than folks who guess at a ballpark figure but the home owner has no idea what it entails. Steve was always responsive and respectful about my questions, on-time with his crew, and excellent in needed follow-up. He did things like suggesting he install an automatic roof vent fan rather than a static ridge vent because of the nature of the roof and attic space -- that fan has been a blessing! Bottom line - Steve's price was excellent and his service, professionalism and crew (thanks, Danny and gang!) were top notch. It was hot and they worked through it all. I called several of his references before signing with him and they were right in reommending him. I'm very happy to do the same.

+ -1 moreThe leak the he claimed he repaired was not, it's still leaking. It was a simple seal around an exhaust pipe. The second leak he offered to repair for $300 I had done by a professional for $195. He advised me to contact my insurance company because due to his expert opinion the roof needed to be replaced due to hail damage. He would charge me approximately $6000 for a roof replacement. I've had hail here quite a bit so followed through with my insurance company. Was advised by the insurance adjuster that the problems with the roof were heat blisters, not hail damage. The insurance adjuster provided pictures, so there was no doubt about the issues being heat blisters. It was not covered and a waste of my time and my insurance companies time. I asked him to submit a report for my insurance company stating, in his professional opinion, it was hail damage. He agreed to do so and never did. Very unprofessional. He was here less than 10 minutes so $99 was a rip off . I felt like I paid him $99 to give me a sales pitch for a new roof. I do not recommend this company for roofing services. Highly unsatisfactory workmanship and lack of professionalism. The only good thing I have to say was that he was prompt. Responded quickly when he received my $99 and showed up 2 days later as promised. I am asking for a full refund of the $99 since I do not trust this company.
Description of Work: Accepted this offer based on an advertisement from Angie's list. The roofer arrived on time with an assistant. They spent a few minutes on the roof and claimed to have found and fixed one leak and would fix another for $300. The $99 special was supposed to inspect roof for damage and repair minor leaks.

Description of Work: Roof was thoroughly inspected, with problems found. We did have him install a new chimney cap (which I already knew was needed)and reseal around vent pipes and three skylights (as preventative maintenance). I was very impressed with the honesty of "The Mad Roofer" (LOVE that name!), that he didn't try to tell us work should be done, when it was not needed.

+ -1 moreA year ago I decided to replace my roof. I called three roofers for quotes. Even before seeing the price I knew Steve was at the top of my list. He was super friendly, knowledgable, and willing to explain his work/plans. When the quotes came in he was the cheapest which was awesome. The roof looks great and has had no problems at all. We just moved into a new place which also needed a new roof so we called the mad roofer again and got another great roof installed. Again I am very impressed.
