The 2 young men, Chris & Pete, were very pleasant, efficient, and qualified. They saw the problem, took care of it and everything was done in record time. The problem was from a leak around the chimney....previously a company sent by the insurance said the leak was caused by the roofs improper installation. We had to have the roof replaced on our own. After paying for a new roof the leaking continued. The roofers returned and "sealed all around the chimney again". Later after the ceiling and walls were repaired, we continued to have leaking , Luckily Carolina Dustmasters identified the problem and sealed the ceiling from the attic !! We've had no further problems. I sincerely pray this will be the end of the saga.

The absolute incompetence at the highest magnitude! I contacted Marshal at Ductmaster in mid-Feb 2021 with a chimney vent issue at my home in Maggie Valley, NC. The fireplace was unusable because a tree limb hit the section of pipe above the roof and bent it at the cap. Since I use the home as a rental when I am not there, I blocked off the whole month of Mar because I did not want anyone in it with a potential fire hazard (inoperative fireplace). I told Marshal at the time I needed the repairs done NLT 31 Mar as I had a renter coming in on 1 Apr. He said no problem. A couple of weeks after my initial contact, he sent his guys out to look. They determined that the pipe was severely damaged/bent where it comes through the roof and a section of pipe needed replacing. He said it was an old-style pipe and did not know if it is still available. After 2 weeks, he finally called to say the pipe is no longer available. 1 Apr renters called because of no working fireplace resulting in $1,000, loss of revenue! It gets better Marshal billed me for $125.but I sent him $175. for what I mistakenly thought were his extraordinary efforts. I decided to get a second opinion based on the suggestion of my friends. Another chimney company came out today and his findings were similar to Ductmasters with one huge difference. The new company got the model number off the fireplace. Marshal confirmed to me his guys never even recorded the model number of my Heatilator. Within 10 minutes and 1 phone call, my new company not only located some 350 sections of SL348 pipe in his distributor inventory but said he could have it overnight. I asked Marshal for a refund because his ineptitude cost me $1000 in lost revenue and he said I did not cost you anything, but I will give you back $50 of the $175 I paid which was the bonus I would given him. So, Marshal goes looking for a part for 2 weeks with the benefit of either the fireplace model number or the pipe model/series number which is easily derived from the fireplace model. It is tantamount to walking into Auto Zone and asking for a spark plug for your car but you do not know the year, make, or model number!! Dumpster and performance exhibited gross incompetence.
