They showed up on time and ready to work. The crew consisted of the workers. They were fast and efficient. They started by ripping up the tile linoleum. removed the quarter-round and then placed the Hardiboard down. They taped all of the seams, and screwed it down tightly. The placed the tile in a wonderful diagonal pattern.

After discovering a series of water leaks under our master bathroom shower area, thanks to Wake County's infamous reputation for shoddy construction, we had the misfortune of having to demolish half of the bathroom down to the crawlspace. When we began the process of repair and renovation, we decided to upgrade in the process. The old bathroom was plain white ceramic tile, with the usual garden tub and cheap metal & glass shower enclosure. What we envisioned was a masterpiece of beautiful travertine tile and frameless glass enclosure, complimented by a 60" whirlpool bath. Elite Tile Systems made that vision happen. After they did such a superb job tiling our guest bathroom, they were the only choice for the master bathroom. What a masterpiece! This was a rather extensive renovation that included a number of construction "challenges" thanks to our home builder, and some elaborate detail from the tile baseboard to the splash area around the tub. It even included a knee wall and seated area. Bruno delivered big! Down to the last detail, this couldn't have been nicer. We now have a high-end master bathroom that looks gorgeous! Thanks, once again Elite Tile Systems! We would highly recommend them.

Fantastic work from Elite Tile Systems! Michael managed the project from beginning to end with the utmost of professionalism. Bruno did an outstanding job with some very nice travertine we picked out. We needed a vendor to deliver big time after discovering a nasty, long term leak under the toilet in our guest bathroom. After we reconstructed a portion of the bathroom floor down to the crawlspace, we decided to upgrade when it came time for the renovation. We couldn't have been more pleased. Although not a large or complex job, there was some critical detail and they handled it well. They handled some additional work that made the last portion of our bathroom renovation and remodel fairly "turnkey". Cost was very competitive with other top vendors. Would highly recommend Elite Tile Systems for any tile job! We wouldn't use anyone else.

We had a great experience with Elite Tile Systems. They quoted a labor charge and then we bought our tile and Moen shower system. There was about $1,000 additional charges for all miscellaneous materials like items to build the shower floor pan, lumber, backer boards, grout, plastic bags. We were aware of these additional charges, so no surprises. They were on time and kept the house clean. Mel did a great job with the construction and tile work. The project took about 2 1/2 weeks which was expected. We love our new bathroom and highly recommend this company. Michael, the project manager, was very responsive and interested in making sure everything went smoothly.

Diego Camacho was my service provider and contractor from Elite Tile Systems. When he first met with my husband to review the job, he presented himself very professionally with slacks and an Ipad to take down information about the job. Originally, my husband thought he was just a salesman because of how he presented himself, but Diego returned the next day in workclothes and ready to work. Diego's professionalism continued throughout the job and he demonstrated that he can handle both the business and the physical tile work. He kept in communication with us throughout the job, emailing and texting us product pictures and photos to ensure he knew exactly what we wanted. We especially appreciated that he purchased and picked up all the materials and provided us with scans of the receipts so that we were fully aware of our expenses. Diego finished the job on schedule and the work is exemplary and high quality. It was so clear that he knows his craft. My husband and I have hired contractors in the past and we are very particular when it comes to professionalism and quality. Diego exceeded our high expectations and we are extremely satisfied. We would definitely hire Diego at Elite Tile and recommend him to anyone who wants a fair price, quality job and professionalism.

Michael was very good about advising us on the details of our job. He was prompt in coming to give us an estimate and answering our emailed questions. He was patient with us as we took a lot of time deciding what tile to use. Our installer arrived on time and was very accommodating in answering our questions and concerns. We used a linear mosaic of stone and glass and he was very particular about aligning it and keeping the grout spaces even. He took the time to put some of the dry grout on a sheet of the tile to show us exactly what it would look like when it was finished. He protected our recently installed granite countertops and hardwood floors. He even did a fantastic job of cleaning up when he was done. At the end of the project Michael came by to review the work, and to verify that we were satisfied. He even sealed the tile himself since our installer was busy on another project. We are very pleased with the end product and look forward to working with Elite Tile again.

I first met with Michael when he came out to provide an initial estimate. He was very professional and carefully listened as I outlined the scope of the work I needed done. He asked clarifying questions which reassured me that he understood what I wanted, and also offered a few key suggestions for details I had overlooked. Within a few days, he provided an itemized quote with a very competitive price. From the other quotes I had received, my decision to choose Elite Tile Systems was an easy one. I called Michael to discuss the project timeline and to schedule the work. Michael and his crew showed up perfectly on time on the first day of work, and met with me to again review the scope of work and verify that we were all on the same page. The cramped work space in my downtown condo master bath essentially dictated a one-man work crew, and Mel was fantastic! I can't say enough good things about this guy. HANDS DOWN THE CLEANEST WORKER I HAVE EVER USED!! Every morning, he laid down fresh drop cloths from my front door all the way upstairs to the master bath. Each afternoon he took them up as he left and cleaned them outside. Some dust is to be expected, especially with sheet rock and tile demo, but Mel's efforts certainly reduced the mess by a factor of 10. He was also very professional and courteous, and would verify each day that work was proceeding as I had planned. Midway through the project, my wife and I called an audible and made a change. The new tub was taller than the old one, so we wanted to create a step to facilitate an easier entry. The toilet is also in this vicinity, so it was necessary to put it on this raised area as well. I discussed the concept with Mel who relayed to Michael what work would be required. We were quickly able to determine that we could add this change without severely blowing our budget or upsetting the project timeline. Both Mel and Michael were very accommodating to the change, and I am so glad we were able to throw it in at the last minute as it really is a nice feature. I would absolutely recommend Elite Tile Systems to any of my friends, and will certainly use them again in the future myself. Their attention to detail is impeccable, and their customer service is top shelf. At the end of the project Michael came by to review the work, and to verify that I was satisfied. I still have a painter yet to come, and the shower glass to be hung and Michael assured me that he would be more than happy to come back out if anything needed attention after the remaining work was completed. I am extremely happy with how the project has turned out and can't wait to enjoy my new bathroom!
Description of Work: Elite Tile Systems fully remodeled our master bathroom, handling everything from the demolition and debris removal, constructing the framing necessary to accommodate the new tub, all the way through laying ceramic and glass mosaic tile.

Overall the result was good. The installer was accommodating and friendly. Because this is a permanent part of the home, I was particular about which tiles I wanted laid down to create the brightest look. Some of the white marble tiles I had ordered were irregular or the wrong color. At first the installer called Mike, the Manager, to complain about the fact that I had a preference for how the tiles were laid out. I explained to Mike that I had laid out all the tiles across the counter and boxed up the damaged/irregular tiles so it would look good and that this actually sped up the process rather than having the installer open all the boxes and lay them up on the wall regardless of if they had imperfections. He gave the ok and the installer got back to work. The installer was knowledgeable and experienced. There were a few times that Mike and I had some misunderstandings of what the contract entailed and I felt as though my insistence on a great looking final product was being reflected back to me as something I should pay more money for. We made it through a negotiation and finished the job but I did sense he was trying to make me feel some guilt about it (even though I was paying for the work). The only problem I have now is that when the light shines, certain tiles look as if they either have dull streaks or dried in grout on them. I don't know if that is a problem of the installer not having wiped them down appropriately when they were still setting or if the installer got cement on the front of the marble without noticing and then didn't wipe it thoroughly. I've tried everything and can't get the smudges/streaks off those areas. It is only noticeable in particularly well-lit parts of the back splash that reflect natural light at certain times in the day. Perhaps in that sense, the final cleaning phase was rushed. All in all the tiles were set very well and as level as possible. Since the wall wasn't completely flat, I was very impressed with the installer's attention to detail in getting the tile level with the right amount of cement. I did experience Mike putting pressure on the installer and me to finish sooner rather than take time to do the job correctly. With 17, A-level scores on this site, I was surprised that the installer and I were being pressured to rush the job half way through. I was helping with clean up and getting the material ready to set. Mike stated that he gave me a good price and it couldn't take as long as it was taking to do it. I replied that I am paying for a great final product and pushed back on him. That was frustrating but it turned out okay in the end and I think you are always going to have some disagreements with contractors. They informed me that I'm picky/detail-oriented compared to the average customer and I believe them regarding that. The grout lines are clean and the entire kitchen looks really good, aside from the occasional light glare that reveals some imperfections/smudges in the back splash. I think if it were ceramic tile and not sensitive porous stone, that the job would have been bumped up from good to great in terms of my score.

Michael's company won the competition for our job from a field of 5 contractors, all of them good. His price was slightly better than the second place finisher, but we believed the overall value to us, as well as the seeming ease of working with Michael, would be for us a winner. The tear out of the old shower went quickly. There were a few unexpected issues found, among them a drain problem), but these were handled efficiently and without complaint. A new drain pan, new wall, expanded ceiling, new light and fan system, all these items went in almost before our eyes. Alberto, the tile specialist, was a pleasure to work with. He is a true artisan. The plumber and the electrician were also outstanding. The only real delay was waiting for the subcontracted shower door installation. It was custom for our new shower space and the process once the shower itself was done for the door to be installed was 2 weeks. Bottom line? The work was excellent, the price fair, dealing with Michael was a pleasure, and we are happy with the results!

They were great. Michael showed up and got us an estimate, then was patient while it took us a few weeks to get some electrical work done. When Bruno showed up to do the work, he was professional, pleasant, hard working and when he left two days later, the job was 100% what I wanted, everything was cleaned up and put back in place. Would highly recommend them.

Elite Tile spent 2 hours discussing with me their method of craftsmanship and dedication to their art. Anyone can stick tile on a wall or floor, only a few know how to do it so it will last for decades. Everything they told me at our meeting assured me they know how to do it right. And they have one crew of professionals that has been together for many years and do it right. They do not hire laborers trying to learn the trade. I was never after the "cheapest price" I was only looking for the best qualified tile setters I could find, and I did with Elite Tile. I have no doubt that when all the baths are complete they will meet or exceed my demanding expectations.
Description of Work: Elite Tile provided an estimate for the labor to install 5 bathrooms in a home I am building. I have been in the construction industry off and on for 40 years. I know a good contractor when I meet them. The estimator met with me to discuss the details of the bathrooms. I knew the commercial type products I wanted used in my home before the first tile was placed. Without hesitation, he said to do the job the right way we recommend .... the same products I was going to mention to him. I knew then they provide only quality workmanship, which is what I want.

Michael came and measured and gave us an estimate. After deciding to use Elite Tile, we agreed on a date and time and Alfredo showed up right on time. He was careful to remove his shoes each time he came in the house and was very careful to protect our counters and floor while he was working. Once he started working, he didn't stop. He measured and cut very carefully and it looked good even before he put on the grout. We wanted black grout with white tile, so he had quite a clean up job after the grout. When he left, it looked great and we are very pleased. The invoice reflected the estimate exactly plus minor charges for mastic and grout.

Michael came to my house to measure, provide a quote and then again to answer my questions and provide guidance about selection of tile, design of backsplash, where to buy tile, etc. He was able to schedule both visits quickly after I contacted him and was able to schedule installation of the backsplash the week I received the tile. The installer was extremely nice and easy to work with -- he arrived very early one morning to accomodate our work schedules, discussed the options & details of the installation with me before he began, and left the kitchen clean. The backsplash looks great and it was a great experience working with this company. The cost was slightly more than other quotes we received.

Elite Tile Systems was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Michael was quick to reply to our request for a consultation, provided an estimate the same day as the consultation, and worked with us to schedule our backsplash installation at a time that was convenient for us all (scheduling a kitchen renovation while working full time is not easy!). Bruno installed our glass tile backsplash and did an amazing job. He repaired and prepared the walls before beginning the tile work. His attention to detail throughout the installation was astounding, from tile placement to managing to cut thin pieces of tile to fit into narrow spaces, which was especially difficult because we were using glass tiles. Bruno also realized that one box of our tiles was just a shade different from the rest and rearranged tiles so that the darker ones would be in less conspicuous places, like behind the range. Before accepting payment, Michael came back out to our house to look over Bruno?s work. We are thrilled with the job Elite Tile Systems did and would not hesitate to hire them again.

I actually called owner Michael over a year ago about an estimate for kitchen countertops and kitchen back splash. He called me back immediately, however, I decided to wait until the following year. I then called Michael in January 2013 and he came out the same week for an estimate of the kitchen countertops and a master bathroom remodel. He explained that his company doesn?t install granite countertops - but that they do tile countertops. He did state he could install the back splash once the granite counter top installers installed the granite. Michael provided me an estimate within a week for the kitchen back splash the master remodel - which included tear out of the floor and the tub and replace with a complete tile shower system and tile floor. I was pleased with the estimate. I chose to go with another company who at the same time installed the granite countertops and the back splash. I then again called Michael in late February about the bathroom remodel again for a second meeting about what we wanted (after I had another company come out with an estimate almost double Elite) to go over everything with more detail. I explained to him how picky we were, was his contractor going to be careful in my home as to not damage other parts of my house, etc. Michael assured me everything would work out. I also needed a lot of information about measurements, grout choice, and other products that I needed to pick out before the job could begin. I emailed Michael many times before the start of the job... and during the job and he was very helpful in his responses. I also couldn?t have the vanity and countertop replaced at this time.. so Michael agreed to have his installed remove the vanity and then put it back in the bathroom after the tile floor was installed. His tile installer Bruno did the entire demolition, bathroom shower system and tile installation job himself. He also took apart our vanity and then put it back together. He was professional, timely, and listened to our request to be careful around the house. He also helped with suggestions during the tile install. He put down protective clothes throughout the house wherein he would be walking during the day. He cleaned up each night. The job took about 8 days. What really impressed me with Elite was when sending me the final invoice (after I had already paid in full)- Michael had noticed a discrepancy in the invoice, wherein they owed me $303.00 and advised me of this and sent me a refund check. I didn?t even notice it. I was really impressed that they realized this and refunded me. The $4400.00 price listed for this job is for labor, plumbing for the shower, and materials picked up by Elite. It doesn?t not include any of the tile, grout or shower doors. Michael gave us the name of a glass shower door guy too. We used him for the shower doors and they look great. I was very pleased with Elite Tile Systems and would use them again.

Overall, I had a good experience with Elite Tile and would not hesitate to utilize them for tile work in the future.
Description of Work: We called Elite Tile to receive an estimate on a retile of our existing shower as well as remodeling our powder room. Michael was very professional and responsive. He provided a detailed estimate of the work. He answered all of our questions and was always available for discussing the work. Bruno did an excellent job demoing and tiling our shower. Even though we used the same tile product as before, the shower came out better this time. When you have a professional doing the job, it shows. Jason worked on the powder room which also came out very well. We had a few changes on the placement of the vanity and Michael accommodated us. When it came time to pay the bill, Michael not only had a detailed invoice but receipts for every purchase.

First, it must be understood that I am a perfectionist who thinks I should be able to do any job around the house as well and often better than any contractor. Mostly, this has been the case. However, my wife has gotten tired of ?projects? that have stretched out from the anticipated weekend job to weeks ? okay, months ?well, yes, honestly in many cases years! Our first experience (pre-Angie?s List) with a landscape contractor cost us dearly and resulted in my having to undo the damage they had done (including the removal and uphill movement of ~500 landscape blocks weighting 84 lb each) and redoing the vast majority of the project myself(including two trips to the ER). I mention this background just to illustrate how cautious we are in choosing a contractor (requiring excellent Angie?s List reviews) and just how persnickety I am in my demand for quality! Noting ceiling damage in a little used closet under our bathroom shower, I realized that yes; I had put off re-grouting too long. Initial inspection revealed a rotted subfloor that actually extended outside of the shower. When I called Elite Tile, Michael happened to be nearby and came to look at the damage within a couple of hours of my call. He was very professional and let me know that our shower pan failure was common in 20+ year old houses and accounted for about half of their jobs. I understood it was doing to be difficult (actually impossible) to find the 6? square hammered finish floor tile from some twenty years ago so I asked Michael for an estimate to replace the entire bathroom floor tile. He made several excellent suggestions on the choice of tile needed to improve and update the look of the bathroom. Since the other half of their work is upgrading bathrooms and kitchens, I had Michael look at the kitchen backsplash project my wife had requested. I had been letting the tile she purchased for it age in our garage over the past five (or so) years. Michael made several suggestions including using a mosaic pattern behind the stove. Michael e-mailed me an estimate the next day. I was pleased enough with the price that I approved the estimate and the work was scheduled to begin two weeks later. That gave us time to find enough similar wall tiles the replace the one foot height of shower wall (replaced to accommodate a new shower pan), a new floor tile for the shower, and another for the bathroom. Bruno and Alfredo showed up exactly when promised. They started out by carefully covering our carpet with protective plastic film and hardwood floors with canvas drop cloths. During the demolition of the old tile, they hung plastic sheeting over everything left in the bathroom and across the doorway to very effectively limit the amount of dust getting into the house. Within two days, they had completed the demolition, and reconstructed the shower floor. On the third day, Bruno tiled the shower and bathroom floor while Alfredo installed the kitchen backsplash. The fourth day, they grouted it all and totally cleaned up everything! As agreed, we purchased the tile separately, but Elite Tile provided all other components (plywood flooring, cement backer board, the shower pan components, thin-set mortar, grout, etc.), providing receipts for everything purchased and adding nothing to their cost. The price charged matched the estimate exactly for the labor. The additional material costs were very reasonable. Yes, we purchased the tile separately, but Michael, Bruno, and Alfredo all provided tremendous help to us in choosing grout colors, the mosaic design behind the stove, and how to work out the problems of blending the old with the new. They always agreed to do things as we asked, but when what we suggested wouldn?t have worked out as well as we thought, they very tactfully suggested better ways to accomplish what we wanted; always pointing out a better way that left us thinking ?and why didn?t we think of that!? I was (and continue to be) totally impressed, both by their efficiency and the quality of their work! They took no shortcuts and everything was done to perfection. Since the shower wall tile was slightly different, they helped me pick out a narrow border to disguise the separation between the old and the new. They suggested a staggered pattern for the new tile below the border, something I never would have thought of, that worked perfectly. They cut the tile to fit vents, the commode drain, and electrical outlets to the exact size and shape rather than leave the (soon to be hidden) edges ragged. The diagonal floor tile pattern is perfectly placed and everything on the backsplash is centered so partial piece cuts are minimal and equal on both ends of tile runs. All grout lines are perfectly spaced, very smooth, and without gaps. The mosaic over the stove worked out great! In summary, without question, this was the best experience we have ever had with any contractor! Michael, Bruno, and Alfredo were all very professional, careful, helpful, and friendly. We have already asked them for a quote on another job that has been on my project list a few weeks ? okay, months ? well, yes, honestly, in this case years! Without reservation, we recommend Elite Tile for any tile repair or installation job you need!
Description of Work: 1) Replaced shower floor (underlayment, pan, mortar base, P trap and drain, curb, and wall to 1 foot height) and retiled the floor and effected areas of the walls, 2) Removed old tile and retiled bathroom floor, and 3) Installed tile back splash behind all kitchen counters (~25 sq ft).

The demolition was completed in a day and a half. The tiling took over a week. Elite put in a new shower pan and worked with me on tile design for the floor and shower all along the way. Mel was my tiler and he did a great job. Michael, project manager, suggested a few changes like a niche in the wall for shampoos etc. Communication with Michael was excellent using email and texts for questions and suggestions. He always got back to me almost immediately. The plumber often came late in the day and sometimes worked until very late. He needed to come back a couple of times to adjust a sink that wouldn't hole the water and fix a very small leak. They always cleaned up every afternoon. They were careful to cover my wood floors to protect them. They put extra floor protection down when they needed to come through my kitchen. They put in the vanity and sinks and hung the mirrors. They reset the toilet. No electrical work was included and we had another company do the painting. They suggested a glass company to do the shower surround and that company did a terrific job also. The complete team was very friendly, polite and good workers. They disposed of all construction debris. I was responsible for disposal of old vanity, sinks and vanity top. They suggested recycling it. The $5500. was labor only. I purchased all plumbing fixtures, vanity, mirrors, tile and grout . All other supplies used by Elite tile are charged to you separately...right down to plastic bags for debris removal.
Description of Work: The work was a complete master bathroom update including installation of all new fixtures and complete tiling of shower, bathroom floor and roman tub surround.

Elite Tile Systems were on time when they said they were going to be here. They were very quick. They gave us a pretty thorough estimate, explaining all the quote and charges that they put together. We're probably going to end up using their service. My wife was very happy with them.
Description of Work: They gave us an estimate for retiling or master bath.

Our need for Elite arose due to a leaky shower pan. We had several options going into this project but chose to expand the shower since we were going to invest in the restoration and figured why just fix the pan. Michael (Project Manager) and Bruno (Installer) did the entire restoration. Both Michael and Bruno were professional, punctional and really know their trade. What we really like was that Elite not only laid out a accurate timeline but finished a day early and did absolutely beautiful work. I can't say enough good things about Elite and their team.
Description of Work: Elite removed our old leaky shower pan, replaced the damaged subfloor and installed a new larger shower in its place. They were also extremely flexible with options and recommendations. Once we finished the tile work they also recommended a great glass company. In all this was a great experience and I can easily recommend them and would use them again. Thanks Bruno and Michael.

After we had a so-so experience getting an estimate from another tile installer, we decided to contact someone else. We're really glad we did. Based on Angie's List reviews, we called Elite Tile. Michael scheduled a time to come by and talk about our project; he was on time, very knowledgeable, and asked "all the right questions" about what we wanted done. He took pictures and measurements and sent us a professional estimate the same day. The estimate was very competitive--and unlike the installer we'd previously asked for a quote, Michael was able to explain to us how they'd arrived at the dollar amount shown in a way that made sense and helped us feel like we were getting a fair price. They estimated that the project would take three days, and were available to do the project the same week--but as it was a bad time for us, we scheduled it a few weeks out. Michael explained that, as project manager, he would be stopping by every day to check on us--but that Mel would be the craftsman assigned to our project. On the day we were scheduled to start, Mel arrived right on time. He was friendly and personable and clearly very experienced--he did beautiful tile work. I mentioned above that nothing in our old house is level--since the tile we'd chosen was very geometric, Mel made sure we were 100% okay with the way the tile runs looked against the odd angles of our countertops and moulding and we really appreciated his attention to detail. He also figured out a way to camouflage the edge of the tile in a spot where the tile ran up against moulding that we didn't want to remove. The end result looks fantastic. The project took three days as estimated (one and a half work days for tiling and letting the adhesive set, and the next day for applying the grout). Michael came by to see Mel's progress and talk with us each day as promised. He also scheduled a final walkthrough to make sure we were satisfied with the end result. We will definitely work with Elite Tile again on our next tile project (and request Mel if he's available!)
Description of Work: Tiled wainscot and backsplash of galley kitchen in old house (where nothing is level) with subway tile in brick pattern; ~100 square feet of tiling.

There were some hurdles such as a new section of sub flooring need replacement but that was to be expected considering the bathroom was 30 plus years old. Over all work was professional and we were pleased with the results.
