Apex Lock and Key Locksmith

I first spoke with Joel on Friday regarding getting the hardware and locks changed on our new house and he suggested that we send him pictures of our existing locks and hardware so they could match it as closely as possible (and not have to drill new holes in the doors). We sent pictures on Saturday and Shawn spoke with us several times over the phone and send us a quote for all of the work - the hardware was a little more expensive than comparable hardware from Lowes or Home Depot, but we decided to have Apex Lock & Key provide the hardware just so we wouldn't have any issues with compatibility, etc. and so that we would be able to take advantage of their warranty if we ever have an issue. We accepted the quote on Monday, hardware was ordered, and installation was scheduled for the following day. Luke arrived right on time and it took about 2.5 hours for him to complete all the work. He was very polite and respectful - and brought his own shoe covers to protect our floors, which I always appreciate. Hopefully we'll never need them again... but they were great!

Great experience- they gave an upfront estimate and got us in next day. Tim showed up on time wearing his ID badge with state locksmith license # - gave some measure of confidence. He got right to work and helped check the existing locks to make sure they weren't shot before doing the work. He noticed the deadbolts were missing one screw each - he was able to find some in his truck and put them in - saving me $ on brand new locks and boring an old style door. We got 6 locks rekeyed and 5 copies of the key without hidden fees. Would work with them again for sure!

Needed a key made from the lock code for cargo carrier. Was told to come into the store after 2pm. Arrived shortly after. Tech at the store could not figure out how to make the key at the store. Was told they would call me and I could pick them up at 5:30pm end of the day. I called but no keys were made. They were not apologetic about wasting my entire day waiting for them when I could have tried another company if they had been honest and said they couldn't do it today! Had to delay a trip out of town due to lack of urgency. Horrible experience!

The technician was superb. The technician was delayed by a previous appointment. However, he called well in advance of the scheduled time to inform me of the unexpected delay. He was very professional in the manner in which he informed me of the delay, next in letting me know when he had finished and when he was on the way. Unexpectedly, he offered me a discount on the services for missing the scheduled time and having to wait. This gracious gift, actually inspired me to include an additional lock. The technician was very fast and did an AWESOME job. I have and will continue to recommend this company to my friends. I am already making plans to call them soon to rekey more locks

Our company just moved to this area, and we have yet to find the keys to our equipment shipping cases. I brought one of the cases over to the shop in Apex, and asked for help. The guys unloaded the case, disassembled the lock mechanism, searched, and eventually matched key blanks, then cut the keys and finished them by hand. The first set didn't quite work out, though. They didn't throw up their hands and tell me nothing could be done. Rather, they started over, took their time, and again made the keys for me by hand. Putting the assembly back together was no easy task, either. (Did you ever do a job that required three hands but had room for only one? Yeah, this was one of those.) Again, they stuck with it and finally got things reassembled. My equipment is now on its way to Florida, we now have TWO keys, and will have the guys make more when time allows. Total cost? Just $38. That's not a typo. $38. Superb service backed up by a great "can-do" attitude make John, Shawn and the rest of the crew stand out among other small businesses. Thanks guys. We'll be back for our business and personal security needs.

I called in the morning to request someone to come to work on my stuck key and sticky key on the other side of the door. They were able to schedule a repairman for the same day at 4:00pm. He arrived on time, was very courteous and proficient. He removed the lock from the door and reworked it from the inside and replaced it. The Key worked perfectly and I was very satisfied. He also checked out another door for me and improved that locked as well. I would definitely work with Apex Lock and Key again.

It turned out pretty well. It worked for awhile and then didn't so I had to get someone else out. They charged a lot, but all locksmiths do. If you needed a locksmith and could not find anyone else he would be fine. He was able to come right out.

It was fine. They were prompt and did the job right. No fuss and no mess.

They were awesome. They were on time and clean. He also explained what he was doing and gave me his card in case of follow up.

I think they did a great job for me. They showed up as opposed to the first locksmith. I did have a previous locksmith that did not show up. I had no problems with the service and the customer was happy.

It turned out wonderfully. They did an excellent job. They went well above and beyond the lock changes and rekeying and repairs that we needed. They actually rehung one of our doors in order to get it to sit properly in the lock plate. They did a wonderful job.

A big thumbs up for Shawn Austill. I had an aftermarket car key, that I had bought elsewhere. Some of other locksmiths in the area told me that they would not cut the key, but would not tell me why, leaving me very frustrated. Shawn took the time to explain that some aftermarket keys could damage their equipment. Shawn said if I came to the store, he could check the key, and see if it was compatible. After careful review he told me it was, cut the key, and made me a very happy customer. Thanks Shawn for going the extra distance the other locksmiths would not. Josh B

Came out the next business day exactly on time (even during the holiday season), did the work quickly, thoroughly, and efficiently, and were extremely easy to work with. Highly recommend.

John picked up the phone right away and I explained my dilemma. We're a 24 hour facility with a locking door system that uses membership key access and the door wasn't closing. He immediately let me know how quickly it would take his staff to reach me and gave me an estimate. Tim, arrived as promised (even a little before). Tim was prompt, courteous and obviously knew his stuff. He found the problem and began to 'operate'. SUCCESS! He got us working in short order and to our surprise, the estimate was right on! WOW! Apex Lock and Key was initially scheduled for the day of the move, but had to be called from the vet's office about postponing after our overly excited dog injured herself falling down the deck steps. They did not charge anything extra for rescheduling the day of the appointment and were very understanding of the circumstances. On the revised date the locksmith arrived slightly early. He quickly assessed why the front door key was different from the other door keys, so it was left as is. All of the other doors required two different keys but he quickly and efficiently fixed that. The job was done quickly and efficiently, especially considering there were two other work crews present at the same time. I would use them again.

see above. Great service - so pleased that I called the company to compliment Tim and promised to write a review. Plus he tells me that Tim will get a bonus. That makes me even happier as he did a great job and couldn't have been nicer.

Had a little glitch with the software used for programming the key which took a bit longer than we expected. However, they finally got it programmed and it works. Price was a little cheaper than taking it to the car dealer.

He was on time, courteous and professional. These guys will absolutely get a recommendation from me.

Two people came. They got right down to work and got the job done promptly. They were courteous and professional.

Service was prompt and over and above the call of duty to get the job done. Repair of the front door lock went quickly and smoothly but the simple rekey of the garage door lock became problematic when the new latch wouldn't mate up with the existing door frame. Service guy Tim basically rehung our door with longer screws to eliminate the sag that had occurred over the last 25 years at no extra charge.

They were great. The locksmith was prompt, nice, &very professional.

My car key shell case broke during the day and needed a replacement. Called them for a quote with details about my car and key and gave me a quote of $49 and told me to come over. Went over to the store and they told me they don't have the Honda key shell and they need to charge me $150 instead and said "well you can't drive your car without your key". This is a bait and switch and deceiving marketing to get me to the store. Will NOT use this locksmith EVER.

Fast, friendly, professional, and no sticker shock. They managed to schedule me in with just a couple of hours notice. The crew called me a few minutes before the scheduled time to warn me they were running 15 minutes late, and I appreciate the courtesy. Definitely someone I would hire again.
