+ -1 moreWe have used American for our home security system for many years (5+) and have always been very satisfied. The original company (3C) that installed this system as well as our entertainment system in 2000 was sold to American some time ago. It was a seamless transition. Any time our system has malfunctioned (most often due to landline being temporarily down) they have notified us. Several other times our alarm went off due to errors on our part and, again, we were notified immediately. Their billing is always correct and their representatives always polite and helpful.

+ -1 moreWe called American Alarms to service our alarm system after it malfunctioned over the weekend. They had installed it years ago and we wanted to repair it and add central monitoring. The earliest they could come out was Thursday. The person in the office said our appointment would be confirmed earlier in the week. No one called so we called the day before the scheduled date and we were told we were scheduled for the first appointment of the morning the following day and the tech would call us in the morning before coming out. After waiting a couple of hours with no call from the tech, we called the office. The person there said she'd contact the tech. The tech called and told us he was at another house waiting for that customer's spouse to bring something by the house. He said he could probably be at our house in about an hour and that he had meant to call us. At that point we told the tech to just cancel the service call. It appears this company could not live up to their promise to confirm appointments, call the morning of the appointment with an update or show up for the and quot;first appointmentand quot; of the day, so we don't want to do business with them. We expect some professionalism from our alarm company. We were able to find another company, highly ranked with Angie's List, to come out and fix our alarm and contract for our monitoring.
Description of Work: We asked this alarm company to fix our malfunctioning system and sign us up for central monitoring.

+ -1 moreWHAT A FRIENDLY CREW. THEY EXPLAINED TO US JUST HOW THE SYSTEM WORKED AND MADE SURE WE UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING BEFORE THEY LEFT. THEY CALLED US THE NEXT DAY TO CHECK ON THE SYSTEM.
