Hello Mr. [Member name removed]; It is my understanding that you called us on Thursday 6/18/15 as you HVAC system was out. Upon this call, you were informed that we would have to charge a diagnostic fee in order to understand why the system was broken as you hadn't done any preventative maintenance since 2009. I understand you were upset with the fact that you had to pay this had to pay this $89 dollar diagnostic fee, as well as the cost of a system cleaning, but we have to cover some of our upfront costs when we go to a customer's home, and in order to have a chance at getting your system to work efficiently, would also have to clean it. After our senior repairman Ennis diagnosed the problem as a bad rejuvenation capacitor, he replaced the part under warranty and you were only charged for the diagnostic and the cleaning fee. This cost was MUCH less than what you could have been paid had we not honored that warranty (many local competitors don't). Please know that if you'd signed a maintenance contract for a low monthly fee and the system had been properly maintained over the last 7 years, your service call costs would have been even lower. That said, I'm sorry you were dissatisfied with our pricing, and would love to talk with you about why you experience wasn't A+ since we quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue. Description of Work: In September 2011, 72 degrees installed a Rheam Gas Pack (natural gas heat and electric air conditioner) at our home in Durham for about $10,000. We had it serviced by them up to this summer when we asked a more local dealer to service it. The unit is under a warranty for parts from Rheam and for labor from 72 degrees. When we contacted 72 degrees about a leak in the evaporative coil of the unit, they said they had lost all their paperwork on our installation and maintenance and refused to honor their warranty. The case is still pending. But their service has been extremely disappointing. We would suggest other people in our situation find heating and cooling expertise from a more reputable dealer.

We deeply regret this member's situation with their HVAC system. To clarify, we have had documentation regarding this customer's purchase since its origination. Upon difficulty finding it we stated that we did have an office fire. In Sanford in 2011 which is documented. Several minutes later, we found her documents. These documents, which have been forwarded to the customer, Angie's List, and BBB, state and prove that she has no parts or labor warranty with 72 degrees. They are with the manufacturer, meaning any authorized service company can honor her warranty repairs. We have respectfully chosen not to perform a repair or service on her system, as we are in no way bound to and have the lawful right to refuse service. This is due to the fact that we are uncomfortable to perform work on a system that she chose another company to service after we installed it. Nor do we have any documentation that she has performed maintenance on her system. Nor does her warranty company have any such records. Records that are required to make claims under her manufacturer's warranty. In sum, we deeply regret this member's situation and wish them the best, but are unable nor required to service their system. We have furnished all documents proving the above statements.

Description of Work: Our A/C was not cooling. 72 degrees came out replaced the fuse and added freon to the unit. It is cooling great now. The technician spent a lot of time talking to me about our unit, the reason for a freon leak, etc. When it is time to replace our unit we consult with 72 degrees for options. They were very professional, courteous and they have great communication between the customer, the office and the technician.

Description of Work: They replaced all duct work and the gas burner and A/C compressor for my HVAC system. The previous system was installed over 25 years ago, and was seriously inefficient. The sales rep, and installers were all friendly, courteous, and did a fantastic job - even taking time to make friends with our 2 year old dachshund who was very interested/stressed out by all of the workmen coming past her 'territory'. | |The new system is working very well, with the variable spring weather we've had here, we've used both the furnace and the AC (at times on the same day). |They have one follow-up visit scheduled for this week to upgrade the thermostat which was backordered on the day they installed. They put in a temporary model and promised to update when the proper one arrived.

Description of Work: I used them to diagnose a problem I was having with a Gas-Pack unit at a rental property (since my usual HVAC person was too busy) with an Angies List Big Deal. I decided to have them come back a second time & address the issue. On both occasions I give them high marks for great customer service, quick response time, scheduling quickly, and overall promptness of their service techs. My only complaint is that I felt the services were priced highly, however this may just be a feeling -- since I didn't have much time to "shop around" I didn't get a comparison quote from other providers. Would use again.

Description of Work: Replaced entire HVAC system. Provided window air conditioners until job was complete, since this occurred in July in North Carolina. However trying to get in touch with them was a major trial. They really need to consider some help in the office. An answering service would take my call but sometimes it was the next day before I heard anything. Very poor. However once my call was returned, they were great.
