Kenny was assigned to the service call and checked everything out inside and outside. He discovered that one of the electronic controller boards was malfunctioning. After a bit of diagnostic testing, the board could not be salavaged and a new one was ordered. 72 degrees was very good at scheduling the follow up visit, which was the bulk of the costs. Kenny returned and did a great job of installing the new board and getting our system running at peak efficiency again.
Description of Work: I wanted a checkup on our 2-stage heat pump/central air conditioner, as our electric bills seemed higher than last year.

Awesome experience! Contacted provider via their website after our problem arose on a Saturday night. They emailed back almost immediately, then called to discuss the problem. A service representative came out on Sunday morning to assist and investigated the issue. Turned out not to be anything serious, but we were grateful for the prompt and professional service.

We initially purchased the $32 inspection of the Heat & Air because several rooms at the end of our longer runs were not heating well at all. Their crew came to investigate and discovered our 2nd floor thermostat was not signalling the furnace to start and that we were running al lour heat on electric heat coils (not great for an electric bill in the winter!). So they installed a new thermostat that day and recommended a system clean, a furnace reseal and a coil cleaning. The purchase of the cleaning package (they come out twice a year) got us a discount on the other costs and I feel ilke it was worth it. Our heat is definitely better at the end of our longer duct runs and that, coupled with the new windows we're about to put in, should keep us doing well for a few years. The team from 72 degrees was friendly and efficient and I took them to be very trustworthy and knowledgable. Would recommend to others.

I called at 8:30 this morning, and they were able to send someone out at 12:30! In fact, I got a text saying he was coming early, at 11:30. Mark was very professional, wore boot covers to keep mud off my floors (much appreciated!), and explained as he was doing things in laymen's terms that I could understand. He obviously knows his stuff, and was able to find an inexpensive fix to my problem. So glad to work with an honest company not trying to make me buy a new unit or pay for extensive, unnecessary repairs! I will use 72 Degrees whenever I need HVAC service.
Description of Work: I called this morning because the motor of the heater would turn on under the house, but the fan wouldn't run in the house. Mark inspected the unit and found that "trash" had blocked one of the hoses that controls the on and off. He cut the hose, reattached it, tested the unit thoroughly and it works.

We scheduled the date and I was pretty busy but I was home on the day that was scheduled for them to arrive. I was actually home a couple of hours before they were due to arrive but they never showed up. I called them and asked them where they were and they said they tried to call me but they did not get an answer from me so they canceled the appointment. That bothered me a little bit. I rescheduled and they came out. Their work was really not better and not worse than any of the other major guys that have been out. They were friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable. They did the work on my system. They suggested some things that might need to be done but there was no pressure. I did not feel like I was talking to a sales guy trying to pressure me into replacing my system on the spot. They were as good as any other ones. There was nothing really bad about the service other than the whole mix-up in the scheduling. The price was average. They were professional.

I wanted provide my experience with 72 Degrees in the event you are seeking Heat & Air Services. Based on my experiences, I highly recommend that you pass on their services. On December 4th, I had a problem where my heat was not working and I contacted 72 Degrees to diagnose the problem. The technician (very senior) isolated the problem to a faulty board causing the heat not to engage. The technician gave me options to solve the problem ranging from $619 to $2600 in price! Technician then spent a great deal of time trying to encourage me to get a whole new unit instead of fixing the problem identified. I told him I would hear the pitch for a new unit; however my primary goal is to get heat running for my family. The technician said he would order the part (replacement board), which was on Thursday Dec 4th but would NOT install it until after I heard the proposal for a new unit, which was scheduled Tuesday Dec 9th (6 days no heat) !!! On that same afternoon I contacted Commissioned Heat & Air, who diagnosed the problem with same outcome (faulty board). The difference in service was that Commissioned Heat & Air located the part and had my heat up and running 2.5 hours (same day) for $200 less that what 72 Degrees quoted with NO installation date. On Monday, December 8th a Project Manager from 72 degrees called to confirm an appointment for December 9th to discuss a new unit and I told that individual was not interested in doing business with 72 Degrees and to cancel the appointment. Within 5 minutes of canceling the appointment Taylor (one of the faces of the company) from 72 Degrees called and was concerned that I canceled the appointment but was NOT concerned about the initial problem of getting my heat running. In my opinion 72 Degrees was ONLY concerned about upselling for a new unit, which would have probably cost between $8000 - $15000. At NO point did anyone from 72 Degrees talk about the status of the part or what they could do to get heat established. When I told Taylor that I would be posting my experience on Angie?s List and other social media sites he quickly stated they would refund my $70+ dollars from the service call if I didn?t take this action. I told him (Taylor) to keep the money as my objective was to ensure people really think twice about using 72 Degrees and that this NOT happen to anyone else especially around the Thanks Giving and Christmas Holidays.

I sincerely apologize for the experience that our client had with our services. It was regretfully unfortunate how things came to be. Upon request for a system diagnosis, we were able to quickly send a technician to our client's residence. Upon finding a faulty control board, our technician gave the customer a range of repair options ranging from very basic to extensive which is why there was a large price range. Unfortunately, we did not have the control board in stock, which is why we were unable to perform the repair on site. It is not uncommon for a technician to have to order a part, especially one that is specific to a system. It was simply coincidence that the other company had such a board on their truck. Because we determined that there would be repairs on an old system, our technician did encourage member to at least hear about replacing his unit, as we were looking to save him money in the long run. Regretfully there was a miscommunication that occurred at some point, causing us to believe that member was willingly waiting for an estimate before he decided to repair or not. Had we known that he wanted to move along with the repair, everyone here would have been more than willing to do whatever we had to, to make sure his system was up and running regardless of him receiving an estimate or not. I sincerely regret this oversight and how it affected our client. Measures are in place to prevent such an oversight ever happening again.

Took 2 visits - 1 to diagnose the problem and 1 to get the part. 72 Degrees emailed me to say he was on his was and was on time both times. While waiting for the part, Kenny set up the system to heat the rooms which was very helpful. Price was fair and we were pleased with the service.

Throughout the entire process, the employees kept in constant contact with me to insure that I was satisfied and understood any impacts to me. The day before the installation, a technician came to inspect the unit and found a part that was broken beyond repair. He explained that he could replace it and for what cost. He also explained the what could be expected for the entire HVAC unit over the next few years. He suggested that a representative come and tell me what my options were. He didn't want me to be dissatisfied in the near future if I made a decision without all the information I needed. I agreed and that same afternoon, the owner came by and explained what I might expect if I chose just to make the repairs vs replacing the unit. He was extremely knowledgeable about, not only the HVAC units, but also about what the government was doing over the next few years which would affect me. I decided to replace the unit. Early on the day of the installation, a particular part had to be delivered before they could come to my house. I received a phone call early in the morning telling me they were waiting for the part to make sure I was aware of the situation and that it didn't affect my plans for the day. Upon arrival, we discussed the concert I was supposed to go to that my grandson was in. The installers adapted their schedule to enable me to go to the concert. They completed all the work that was planned even thought that had to adjust their schedule to be sure to have all the parts they needed. In order to get it done, they stayed until 7pm that night. I received several follow-up calls to make sure the unit was working properly and that I was happy with my decision and their work. All the people I spoke to and worked with were very professional and concerned. They clearly wanted me to be a happy customer. I would highly recommend the company to anyone.
Description of Work: A new HVAC unit was installed. Also, the duct work in the attic was reconfigured to give improved air flow.

I couldn't be more pleased! They're very responsive, in the ball park on their figure, they're neat, cleaned up after the work, and the unit is working great! 5/18/2016- I have two filters and I cannot get a filter in the furnace like promised by the salesmen. This forces me to rely on someone to do it for me or I let them go past due. You have to get up on a ladder or bench to reach the area; I cannot do that and I have arthritis. I am looking for a resolution from them. In my opinion, I was given me the wrong unit. I was promised this would be easy to do on my own. Also, the only way to order the filters is online by Home Depot. The company hasn't returned my phone calls. I just want them to make it right.

The HVAC system was properly installed per the manufacturer’s specifications and State guidelines on December 1st, 2014. Permits were applied for and issued by the City of Cary, NC. After the installation was completed, the city inspected and passed our work on December 15th. We have not been provided a copy of, and are not aware of, any documentation from the manufacturer or the customer that contradicts the City Inspector. Our customers are very important to us and I’d like to extend my offer to do whatever I can to renew your trust in my company. It is truly unfortunate that you can no longer change the filters in your new HVAC system. Although this is not a normal business practice, I am happy to order air filters and coordinate with you to schedule one of our technicians to come to your home twice a year to change your air filters free of charge. I hope that this will be an acceptable solution. Thank you.

They come out and clean my air conditioning system. They tell me what is going on with it and if they think I need to replace something they will give me quotes on it. I usually have one serviceman come out in late fall and again before the cooling system to make sure the air conditioner or heating is running at top prime performance. I bought an Angie's List big deal for a discount on the maintenance service. What stands out is their professionalism and their knowledge of heating. If they have any problems they are usually able to work with it. I have used them for two years and they have been really upfront and honest. They were concerned enough about my heating system that they told me I had to replace it and that they did not care who I did it with so we are negotiating it now. They took a camera and went into the system and showed us all that was going on. They are very professional, there is no doubt about it. They have teamed up with another company that sells solar units so we are looking at that. They seem to be very knowledgeable and are very informed. They are not overly priced on their air conditioning units. They even put booties on when they come into my house.
