I emailed Handyman House Techs on a Friday and by the following Thursday my railing was being installed. The work exceeded my expectations. Mark was friendly, professional and I could tell it was important to him to do a good job. Well he did an excellent job. He had said it would take about 5 to 6 hours to complete and he was finished in 5. I will definitely have Handymen House Techs do another job for me.

I called them repeatedly because they were supposed to have an estimate for me on Tuesday. Days later they were very rude on the phone when I told them I still didn't have any information. We called them about a roof and they came out originally with backsplash information.

The first handyman came and made a repair. When it rained, it still leaked just as badly so a second handyman came to make corrections. After that, it still leaked. When I called another company, they asked me to come up the ladder and see for myself and that's when I took the pictures. A picture is really worth a thousand words.
Description of Work: I had a roof leak in need of repair. Two different people from this company came to fix this problem at separate times. They replaced some shingles but did not fix the problem. In fact they put new shingles over an actual hole in the plywood on my roof. This hole was big enough for me to stick my fist through. Hired another company to come out and fix the problem. They did so in one visit. The only good thing that I can say about handyman house techs is that they did actually refund a PORTION of my money. This is one of those situations where I had to spend twice as much to fix a problem just to finally find the right guy to fix it. The employees who came out were nice, just not experienced enough. Highly recommend a company named Strong Roofing.

PROMISED BUT DONand quot;T DELIVER ! I contacted Handyman House techs to have a handrail installed on a set of outdoor steps at my house. and quot; Can you do it within a week?and quot; and quot;Oh yes sirand quot; they answered. A week later, on a Monday, they call and say we'll be there on Friday at noon . Then I have to call them for the estimatel. It's $300 for parts, and the labor is $300. But this isn't binding. it may be more. THis seems excessive, however, I need to have the handrail installed. So I say OK. Do I have to be there when the handrail is installed? No they say, you just have to come at the end to give the technician a check. TAKE OFF AFTERNOON OF WORK FOR NOTHING: So, on friday, I take off the afternoon from work to be here to pay the guy. I get home, and he's not here. I call the office, leave a message. No answer. I call again, 15 minutes later, and get told they will call me right back. 25 minutes aft er that, they have not called me. Finally, I call again and am told by the and quot;project managerand quot; that the parts to do the work won't be in for 2 weeks. THE PROJECT MANAGER WHO IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROJECT: the project manager then tells me that she can't check to see that the technicians have project ready. and quot; That's the technician's joband quot; she tells me. I tell the project manager that I will find someone else todo the work -- obviously they are not interested. Never once did she apologize. Never once was she responsible. Never once did she think to call me at work and say hey, we can't make it. Rather, they leave me to call them, and act like it's problem. IN FAIRNESS: in fairness, I can't speak to the quality of the work. It may well be high quality. However, I know that this company's ability to organize and coordiante the work is very poor. LAST CHUCKLE: in my original phone call to the folks, I asked them to price intstalling a toilet. THey still have gotten back to me on that one. Probably my lucky day.

If they did not want the job, all they had to do was say no. They didn't have to give me an overinflated bid. The guy told me it might take four to five days. $12000 for labor only for a four or five day job just doesn't make sense. I have a small problem with that. I was going to supply all the materials that he needed. All he had to do was price the labor and put the thing together. I even went so far as to print him out a complete installation guide from the manufacturer for the steam shower because when they looked it up, they couldn't find what I already had. All they had to do was take out a partition wall that was 39 inches wide, five shelves that went to the outside of the bathroom, and the bathtub with shower and then put in the steam shower. They were very nice and courteous. They was also pretty responsive and came out the very next day. For the skylight, they gave me a bid but did not give me a synopsis which I needed for the home owner's association to approve the renovation.
Description of Work: Handyman House Techs gave a quote to remove a bathtub and put in a steam shower. I also wanted them to install skylights.

they gave a decent estimate for the work it went downhill after that. they never stayed on the job ie worked a couple hours here an there. spent third of the time on the job bragging how good they were. bottom line is three months after the job completion we had to have part of it redone. the word half-a'ed comes to mind

I emailed Handyman House Techs on a Wed evening and received a phone call early the next morning. Later that afternoon, I received another call and an appointment was scheduled for Friday morning. During Hurricane Isaac, my husband noticed an area of the soffit sagging and had to shore it up with a 2and quot; X 4and quot; until we could get it repaired. He had a new roof installed after Hurricane Katrina due to tornado damage. Grady Smith came that Friday to evaluate the job and give an estimate. As it turned out, the area my husband discovered wasn't the only problem...there were several locations where the soffit and fascia were sagging because masonite had been used when the house was built and it was rotting. So my husband decided to let them remove and replace the soffit and fascia around the whole house. Grady explained the materials he recommended be used and the method. He and another technician arrived the following Monday and began removing the vinyl, soffit and fascia. That took 2 days. Then they came with the needed materials to do the job. They used treated 1and quot; X 6and quot;s, 1and quot; X 2and quot;s, plywood and flashing, then replaced the vinyl siding and caulking. They also installed a set of attic stairs for us. It took 3 weeks to complete the job. While their workmanship was outstanding, the job could have been completed in a shorter time had Grady not been called to other jobs which left his helper alone. The helper, an electrician, shared with my husband that this was the first time he'd done this type of work. We had only one rain day. Overall, we are very pleased with the job performed and will use them again when the need arises. Although it cost more than we had originally intended, the job turned out to be much more involved than first thought. The bulk of the price was labor and this job was labor intensive. The price was reasonable for the amount of work performed.
Description of Work: Soffit and fascia replaced and attic stairs installed.

Initally contacted them via their website and got a reply the next business day. Ryan came out to perform the written estimate and was right on time. He came back a few days later to perform the work, again right on time. He took about an hour or so and was very pleasant, cleaned-up as he went along. Worked with us on getting the proper height for the hanging fixtures (i.e. stood on top of the ladder holding the heavy fixture while we stood back judging the height we wanted).

The job started out all right but then it just went downhill from there. There was work hours lost because there were no supplies that I needed, that he was supposed to pick up. I had to have somebody else finish the job. I had to go to Home Depot myself, three times in twenty-four hours to get the right things. I had to call him back to come finish the pop-corn work he was doing on the ceiling and to put the lights back in place that were hanging down while the ceiling was drying.

I have never been so impressed with a company! They came by to do the estimate the SAME day I called. They gave me the estimate the same day and we scheduled a day for them to begin. The work was completed FAST and it looks like it never even happened. I was amazed at how good it looked. The staff was really friendly and I can't wait to use them for my next project. Highly recommended!!

I emailed Handyman Housetechs for an estimate. I received a phone call within a couple of hours. Cathy was very courteous, professional and cheerful. She said she would have someone come out to give me a free estimate at my convenience. Levi arrived at the appointed time for the estimate. He was very clean cut, polite and professional. He gathered pricing for materials and I received an estimate the next day. In the meantime I had received a call from their office asking if everything went ok and if there were any questions to please contact them. Levi returned a couple of days later exactly on time and ready to work. He installed two ceiling fans and installed fencing to the back corners of my property. I couldn't be more please with his work! The total was very close to estimate as the cedar fencing ran just a bit more than the lower quality material. If you want someone you can trust at a fair price that does a large range of tasks, Handyman Housetechs are the way to go!

I called on a Wednesday and they came out on Thursday morning. The job was completed by that afternoon. I had several minor "projects" around the house that needed to be done, and they did a great job. They were very kind and professional. They showed what they were doing every step of the way so that I would know they didn't take short-cuts with their work. All in all, it was a great experience.

Unprofessional and poor quality work. They left cigarette butts, ashes, bottles all over the yard and deck
Description of Work: I asked for 2 basic estimates on a deck. One was to expand a small section and replace the arbor, decking and railing. The second was to just replace the arbor, decking and railing; the railing was to be a cable type which I was going to show him how to put together. Greg came out on the day promised and I explained what I wanted done. It was a pretty straight forward request until he started telling me all the things he could do to make it a very special deck. He seemed very knowledgeable so I agreed. He sent me the 2 estimates and I chose the second one. He seemed a little upset about my choice but I didn't think much of it at the time. Once a date was set and the material ordered and delivered Greg started working. This is where the trouble started. After he and his helper took off the decking he tried to convince me to replace the entire deck even though the joist and everything looked fine. Then he tried to convince me to go with a VERY unsafe railing design that was not likely to hold up well at all. He basically “blew up” when I had him fix it. It seemed to be one thing after another and I was getting concerned about the quality and looks of the project. For example, he had suggested cutting a decorative arch on the front beam of the arbor which would have looked great except he used a circular saw to make the cut which made it look very amateurish and choppy. That's just one example! I finally had him leave and called in Tina ,his project manager, to come over and take a look. She did and brought Vernon, the owner. I explained my dissatisfaction and they both assured me that someone would come out and finish the project – “It will look professional and aesthetically pleasing” he said. In the end it was neither! He had two different crews come out and each screwed something up. I'm taking about very basic things. One crew tried replacing the railing caps with untreated wood and cut up (4) 4x4s for no apparent reason. The other crew was to finish the arbor but destroyed (4) 2x8x16s. It's like they set out to make as much wood unusable as possible. This is only a small portion of the problems I had with this company. Vernon did agree to deduct some of the unfinished work and destroyed material but it didn't make up for the aggravation and extra work on my part to fix what they messed up. I am only writing this review now because I saw a commercial on TV for this company. Please do your research!

Project started good, but after about 3rd day worker had a family emergency and had t leave. Had a day delay in getting new worker, but after that things went soothly. All work was done to my satisfaction, only was compleded a day late. The only thing that was bad was loosing that day. Our home only has one bathroom and we were unable to use it for a little longer than anticipated. I would use this company again. There was no way they could have anticipated the family emergency and they overcame that well. I did have some small issues, but they were willing to come back and take care of them.

It wasn't that great, I was under the assumption that they had their own crew of service men, but come to find out he was a sub contractor. He subcontracted the cabinet work to a man who refuses to answer my phone calls so I can get his social security number so I can fill out a 1099 form. He won't return my calls or answer a letter. They shouldn't have made me assume these subcontractors were his employees. He also smoked in the house I was renovating. I did not appreciate it whatsoever and I will not use them again.
Description of Work: Handyman House Techs, LLC refinished cabinets in the kitchen and took down walls that were termite infested to a workshop. Then they put them back up and built a dividing wall between the porch and carport. They also painted the exterior of the house. He also took out a skylight and reroofed. I have used HHT 3 times in the past 6 months and referred them to a friend who also used their services. There is SO much good to say about this company. Their workers are professional and punctual. The girls who set up the appointments are friendly and accommodating. I will probably use them again as I still have many projects at hand, however, I will be much more clear about their fees in the future. The young man who came out to do the work was great. He came out first and gave me an estimate on the job which included labor for what he felt would be 2 day job. The job entailed removal of vines from a trellis that had overgrown onto the house, reattachment of 3 existing rails to a deck and replacement of 6 deck boards and reattachment of a 4x4 existing sheet of light plywood over some insulation under my home. A breakdown of 50.00 for material and 380.00 for 2 days labor. The worker arrived on time at 8:15 and the job was completed at 3:45. I asked him if due to the fact the job ended up taking 7.5 hours instead of 2 days if the labor cost could be adjusted accordingly. He politely told me he would inquire and did. However, my request was denied due to "company policy". The labor breakdown therefore ended up being at the rate of more than 50.00 per hour which I feel is beyond excessive. I would have been happy with even a 10% adjustment to the total labor cost as a customer service goodwill gesture but this was denied. I understand this is a company and they have rules that I now know are not flexible, I will however in the future if I use this service again make sure I get more than one labor estimate for I do not feel anyone else would have charged me more than 50.00 per hour for this job! HHT is an overall good company though, my only advice is to be sure to read the fine print.

I rented an apartment and put down a $600.00 deposit, I moved out and the apartment manager said they would keep my deposit due to the drywall repair that needed to be done and one cracked tile on the bathroom floor. I called Handy Man House Techs and told them my situation. They sent a technician out to meet me two hours after I called. He showed up when the girls in the office told me he would. I got the holes repaired and painted and the tile replaced the same day and got my deposit back. Thanks Handy Man House Techs and thanks to the girls in the office for making this happen timely for me.

We contacted Handyman House Techs to accomplish several (4) projects. They have completed 2 and the third is scheduled for next week - Replace windows, side door, siding and paint the garage. The forth is pending - complete renovation of Master Bath. What I found most impressive as a customer was that anytime they had a question or ran into a problem they would verified everything with us before proceeding further and we all agreed what the best fix was for the situation. Due to the fantastic job Handyman House Techs have done thus far, they will get all future work from me and I would also highly recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: 1. Investigated and repaired lighting problem in Master Bedroom and installed new light fixture. 2. Ripped out existing laminate flooring in family room and installed ceramic tile.
It was an awesome experience just like before. I would refer Handyman House Techs to anyone. I love it love it love it. The owner is the bomb too. HE IS VERY HONEST AND HELPFUL.
Description of Work: First they came out at the time they said they would be here. They built me a wonderful deck for my father and he even built a ramp instead of steps so my dad could go down it with his wheelchair and had a landing at the end. They installed 2 gable fans and he came at night to do it so my dad wouldn't have a hard time breathing while the power was off. He replaced the air ducts in the attic (he suggested a way to do it that saved me thousands of dollars) and again he did this at night so my dad wouldn't have any problems because he is on oxygen. Installed a window for me that was on 2nd story and odd sized..
