The quality of their work is very good; however, they are much too expensive, since they hire contractors. Also, they don't accept personal checks, debit/credit cards. Considering how expensive they are, they have some nerve not to be more cooperative insofar as how their customers may pay for their services. I read one of the reviews in which the representative stated that they had been in business for ten years; however, they have not been in business for ten years in Mobile, but the Mississippi Gulf Coast instead.

I hired this company back in 2014 to remove fiberglass shower and replace with tile. Worst mistake I ever made. They did a horrible job. Tile uneven, gaps between tiles and it leaked all the time. It was so bad I had to have it redone, which costs another $7000 on top of what already paid them. So over all ended up paying $10,000 to just tile a small shower.

Unprofessional, careless, poor work. Would not carry through with original plan for minor repairs, changed workers and plans, many delays, damaged property. Rude employees in office. Owner refused to speak with me. Extremely disappointing because I still need someone to do several projects and hoped this company would work out, but I would not recommend them to anyone.

From the time I called in my work order to Dani, the project manager called me back very quickly and was able to get a tech out and get my estimate. Pricing was reasonable and that I am very pleased with the work, and the process was easy and quick. The Project Managers called the whole time the was being done to reassure we were pleased with the progress.

they painted it, refused to strip and stain it as contracted. They even told me for a week that they were SUPPOSED to paint it even though my contract clearly says stain. When we said we wouldnt pay for a painted floor, they bought stain and poured it over the paint. We fought with them for 4 weeks trying to get the work done but couldnt keep sleeping on the floor in a store room waiting on them to do it so we gave up

I had to have my husband put in the VA for respite while they did the work. It was supposed to be done within 2 weeks. It was not, they never finished the job. They notified the VA that the job was complete so the VA paid them. The city of Biloxi inspected the work done, there were no permits pulled for any of the plumbing or electrical work. Vernon the owner has a license, however the subcontractors he use do not. Vernon has never done construction work hands on. I took them to court, and won. They are to write a check so my bathroom can be taken care of so my husband, a wounded warrior can use the bathroom. I have yet to see a check.

Called for 2 quotes at a satellite facility and advised billing address and service address would not be same. Was referred to a different company and advised they did not do commercial repairs. Called that company (Wilson Retail Solutions) and tech from Handyman House Techs showed up.... without a call first. Showed up at main office. Explained where the repair was, gave detailed directions about the building corner where the repair was needed, including the storage unit number it is beside, gave gate code for access. Huge sigh and complaining about the 4 mile trip. Next day, Handyman House Tech called to advise there is a 35.00 trip charge for their free estimates and when I explained I had told them the service was at a different address, the woman said, and quot;na, na....nuh... Nope!and quot; SO unprofressional and rude. She also stated the tech could not figure out where the repair needed to be, even though I told him specifically where it was and explained the other issues were NOT going to be addressed at the moment, so he was obviously not paying attention to what I was saying. If there was a trip charge to go to 2nd address, the tech should have advised that, instead of the complaining, and I would have sent him on his way-a free estimate should be free. They are sending me a bill for 35.00 for wasting my time, as I definitely will not be approving any work to be completed by this company.

I've used them probably five or six times. Half of the work has been good and the other half hasn't been. It's a guy that has probably 20 or 30 employees. I've seen two different people for six or seven different things. They have different people for different things, such as fencing. So one guy might specialize in something but not be good at something else. He did a good job fixing the toilet. A plastic bag got stuck in the track and knocked the garage door off its track. Other guys had talked about getting a whole new door but couldn't get out here in time. The fee might be $50 to come out plus whatever they have to do. I'll probably call them back again. If it's a big thing, I'm just going to ask for that one service, so they'll send an experienced person. I've got a list a mile long of little things to do. If I call for an electrician and then I ask him to fix a fence, he might not know what he's doing on the fence. They're pretty trustworthy because he's a local guy. They have licenses, permits, insurance, and are bonded, in case something goes wrong. They advertise a lot around here. I think he's from Biloxi but he's working in Alabama, too. He's spreading out. He remodels and just about anything. If he can't do it, he can get it done. If I could've gone through him for roofing work, he could've not accepted it where I didn't have any choice with outcome from the one that actually did the work. It's handy for me having somebody with some power, a reputation, and knowing they're licensed and insured. They're handy to come right away. The last guy that came was really good. It just depends on who comes. Their prices are reasonable. He seemed like he could do almost anything. He did it quick and he did it reasonably priced. He came within the same day. I didn't want to leave the garage door up all night. Everybody that I was calling were saying they couldn't get to it today. Handyman House Techs could, which helped out a lot, too. If I need them again, I'm going to ask for this guy, if he's still there. I'm sure they can do electrical and plumbing, if you just tell them what you need. I think I'm going to call them for quotes on fencing.
Description of Work: I used Handyman House Techs. He fixed the garage door that had come off its track. While he was here, he fixed the toilet that was clogged up.

It was absolutely horrific. They didn't do a good job. I refused to pay them so they re-did it. Finally, last night at about 8 oc'clock, I said, "Just leave it. Here's the money. Just go away." I always use Behr paint. I bought one with a primer. He was complaining that the color wasn't working and that the paint was no good. I've been using this paint for the past 25 years for the interior and exterior of my home. I get perfect coverage. The paint job lasts forever. When he called me and said he was finished. I went home and did a walk through. One ceiling wasn't painted. They didn't use enough paint. He had put only one coat of paint. Yesterday when I looked, I just decided I'd do whatever touch-ups need to be done myself. I couldn't take it anymore. They've been working on my house for about the last 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. I would tell anyone to absolutely not use them. When I had the issue, I immediately called them. I spoke to the lady there and she started making excuses. I told her that it wasn't the response that I was looking for. "If I hired you and have a contract with you and you subcontracted these people. You're responsible for them. You should be hiring qualified people who know how to do this and not making excuses." The pricing was steep. It was expensive. I've always been the type of person that's willing to pay a little extra money if I'm going to get quality work. I expected quality work but did not get it. I'm used to customer service. If I hire somebody and I have a customer who's dissatisfied, the customer is always right. I don't want to hear excuses. I want to hear that's it's going to be taken care of. Each time he came to the house, he was late. Professionalism was nonexistent.
Description of Work: I used Handyman House Techs. I needed my living room, foyer, kitchen, and one of my guest rooms painted. I gave him $220 for materials, which I ended up having to buy an additional $80 worth of materials. The final check I gave him was for $1,166.

Richard was on time, went right to work. Struggled with the connection to exhaust the dryer, because this is an OLD house, but he did not give up until he completed the job. Had to go pick up the connection for the sink drain. Came back, fixed that in no time at all. Richard has done work for us before. He repaired our hot water heater, and installed security lights. He's very professional and courteous. I will always ask for Richard when I call Handyman!

The floor man was finishing up in the house and was looking for a place to washh his hands. Went to the back of the house and spotted the leak in the hot water heater which is outside the house in a small shed. He called us, and we came right over to the house. I called Handyman, and they had someone out within 40 or so minutes. He shut off the water at the meter, which we couldn't do. He bought the necessary items to do the work and came back the next day as promised. He was on time and finished the work. Job well done. Very prompt, courteous, on time, and worked diligently! I'm so sorry I can't remember his name, but if I need similar work to be done I would call Handyman and ask them to look him up. A very hard worker.

Never showed up on time. I was contacted by several different sales associates who had no clue what was going on or that I had already been contacted. The tech they sent did not give me a quote in the manner he said he would. It was if he just made up the numbers as he went without any actual material list or time spent for labor. Pathetic customer service and business model. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Did not go well. I really was hoping this company would have worked out as I recently purchased a condo and had several things that I needed to be done. They start out great and cannot follow thru.
Description of Work: Not really sure what happened here. I contacted the company to have small woodwork finishing done in a closet. The employee came out , took, measurements and gave me a quote. Said he would be back the following day. He did come back the following day but did not have material. After a discussion on materials available he stated he would be back by 10am the following morning. We waited till noon and no one showed. I contacted the owner Jennifer and left a voice message, never heard back from her. On August 12th I again contacted the office and left a message to speak to Jennifer. Wanted to know what had happened.....no response. Never called me back.

Master craftsman Jeff was on the site daily, stayed on schedule even if 12 hour work days were required, showed extreme attention to detail and showed personal pride in the finished product. Liked the pricing policy where labor costs are stated on the front end and weekly receipts were provided for materials purchased so I could keep a handle on the overall project cost as my personal choice of items influenced the overall cost of the project.

****AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!**** It started out great but went downhill very quickly. We ended up firing the company because the workers stole from us, but that was just the final straw in a long list of things that they did. As of right now, only half of our house has been repaired because this company has hired a lawyer to attempt to get almost $7000 from us for work that they didn't perform and materials they did not use. Because of this we were forced to hire a lawyer and have to pay for that out of pocket with money that we don't have. We are also in limbo until this is resolved and we settle with Handyman House Techs so we will know how much money we have to finish our repairs. Here is just a short list of some of the things this company attempted to do to us to cut corners and be dishonest in order to put more money in their pockets. The original estimate included: Removing all interior doors, trim and baseboard and replacing with new. They tried to only replace the actual doors and not the trim and baseboard. Remove laminate flooring that was wet throughout house and an old glued down parquet floor in the living room. They were going to just cover the old parquet floor up with carpet because getting the old floor up was going to be too time consuming. The main bathroom was supposed to be gutted completely down to the studs and have the new mold/mildew resistant sheetrock installed. They were only planning to replace the bottom four feet with new and were going to keep the old stuff on the upper walls and ceiling. We were supposed to have top of the line carpet installed and the estimate allotted $3000 for carpet and installation but when the time came for them to install the carpet we found out that they ordered cheap $700 carpet instead. When we refused to let them install this cheap carpet they told us that if we wanted nicer carpet that we would have to have buy it ourselves and have it installed. (Because we had been out of our house for over two weeks living in a hotel, we had no option but to buy carpet out of pocket so we could get back into our house.) Because we have paneling in the kitchen and there is no way to just replace the bottom four feet of paneling, we were supposed to have the entire kitchen gutted and sheetrock put up. After talking with the guys doing the work we found out that they planned to just put sheetrock up over the paneling. These are just a few examples of the shady practices that Handyman House Techs did in an effort to cut corners and put more money in their pockets. The plan was to have them do all the work on the Living room, bedrooms and bathrooms while we were out of the house and then move pack in while they worked on the kitchen, laundry room and the outside of the house. After they finished the living side of our home and we moved back in we found that all of our liquor was GONE. Nearly $500 worth of alcohol and two 12 packs of soda were gone and they were the ONLY people who had a key to our house besides us. At this point my wife and I had had enough and we fired this company and requested a final bill to settle up with them. We expected to maybe owe them a couple of thousand dollars more than what we had already paid them, but to our surprise they were billing us for another $7000. Even though our mortgage company had an inspection done on our home and determined that the work was 50% done, Handyman House Techs claimed that they had done 70% and were charging us for it. They also were charging us for over $2000 worth of material that was never used in our home. We we requested all the invoices so we could see exactly what material they were charging us for, they refused to give them to us. We had to have our mortgage company get involved in order for us to get them. Once we did, we saw exactly why they were charging us for so much on the material. They were trying to get us to pay for TOOLS that they bought, some to do the work on our house, but many that had NOTHING to do with the work we were having done. There was also several invoices for several hundred dollars each that were dated for well over a week before they ever set foot in our house to start doing any work. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. From the broken promises to the unfair business practices and even having the owner of the company get on the phone and curse me out when I refused to pay for his workmen to buy tools at my expense. At this point it is still not resolved, half of our house is still not repaired from flooding a year ago, and we live everyday wondering if we will be taken to court or have an unwarranted lien placed on our house. I should also mention that after we fired them, it was brought to our attention by the City of Ocean Springs Building Dept. that they failed pull a permit on our job. They City fined them at triple what the normal permit fee would have been and Handyman later included this fine on our invoice, trying to pass that cost on to us. The City also informed us that this was the third time this company had been caught doing work without pulling the proper permits. PLEASE, PLEASE AVOID HANDYMAN HOUSE TECHS AT ALL COST.
Description of Work: Our house flooded in Hurricane Issac so we were looking at having at replacing everything up to four feet. Floors, sheetrock, kitchen cabinets and cleaning and painting on the outside of the house. Anyone who has ever flooded knows the extent of the work that had to be done to our home.
