I found Durbin Garage Doors on Angie's List and sent Jim Null, the owner, an email telling him I would like to receive a proposal to replace two garage door openers. He called that night to discuss what I wanted in more detail. He proposed a price over the phone and followed with a written proposal via email the next day. I accepted and returned the proposal to Jim. I had one other proposal, for about the same price, but Jim seemed to be more interested in my getting what I needed, but not more than I needed: he persuaded me that I would be happy with the cheaper of the two models I was considering, while the other contractor tried to steer me to the higher priced model. Jim came out three business days later and installed the openers. He ran into an unforeseen wiring problem with the old openers but quickly corrected the problem with no effect on the price. I purchased openers with MyQ technology and Jim stayed to help me program the remote control openers, the keypad and our cell phones. Because the openers built into our cars are not compatible with MyQ technology, Jim returned the next day, installed a "repeater" adapter and helped me to program the car openers (at no additional charge). Jim explained all the programming procedures carefully (given that I will probably forget the procedures by this time next week, he also left me all the user manuals and told me to be sure to keep them handy). Jim is very professional, careful and obviously takes pride in his work.

Jim did a great job removing our old garage doors and installing the new larger, custom size single door. He was prompt for the quotation appointment, considered multiple solutions and provided details for two options so I could determine what was best for me. The time from ordering the custom size door to installation was shorter than quoted - a nice surprise. On installation day he was fast, cleaned up everything including removal of the old doors and center column. He also re-used one of the existing motors so I did not have additional cost. Overall the experience was great and I highly recommend Durbin Garage Doors.

Our garage door wouldn't stay down. The owner, (I can't remember his name) returned our call that day and came out the next morning. He replaced the springs and did a minor adjustment. He said that in the near future we will need to replace the whole opener because of age, but that for now he was able to get it working again for us. I believe and trust that he is telling the truth. He even came out another time free of charge to adjust it even further. I will be calling him when it is time to replace the opener

It went well and it was a good price.

I give them all A's and will use them again in the future.

Called Durbin Door the day after the St. Charles tornado. We had gotten our door open, but because it had buckled wasn't coming back down. Called another company first and it was going to be 3 days before someone could come out. Tried Durbin and Jim came out in an hour and charged us nothing! Had him order a new door and came the following Thursday to install as promised.

He was polite, on time, professional, and fast.

Jim arrived on time. Very polite. told us that the opener was going out. Installed the opener. And was thankfull that we called him.

The workmanship was fine. We like the quietness of the door. The light on the garage door opener comes on automatically when we come out. We would use this company again and reccommend it to anyone looking for a new door.

Jim and his assistant arrived on time and took only about 90 minutes to remove the old garage door and replace it with a new Door Link 3610 steel garage door. They reconnected the existing garage door opener and made the necessary adjustments. Before they left they installed an attractive weatherstripping to both sides and the top of the garage door opening to seal out any drafts. Considering the door is steel inside and out with a foam insulation in between I believe the $939 install price is a great value. The Door Link door is very nice looking and seems well built. Another nice feature is that it is made here in Missouri.

From start to finish I was completely impressed with this company. I found a coupon in a local ad to have the torsion springs replaced so I called Friday (yesterday) morning to set up the appointment. Jim was the individual I spoke with and that performed the work. He set up the appointment for Saturday morning (today) for 10:30. He was very polite. He called this morning at about 9am to ask if it would be okay to come by earlier as he would be done with his current job sooner than planned, and of course I was fine with that. He showed up and immediately got to work and was done in no time at all. I was even having trouble with my garage door opener so he reprogrammed that for me. When I paid the bill he explained what I was being charged and it was exactly the amount that the coupon stated. He even showed me the amount on the screen before he processed it. I'm thrilled that our garage door is working again, and even more thrilled with my experience with this company. This is the only company I will call when I have issues with my garage door, and I've already told several people how wonderful they are! FABULOUS!

Jim and his assistant were punctual and cleaned up after the job was finished. Since I planned on repainting the garage, Jim asked that I give him a call when finished, so that he could attach trim.My only disappointments were that wires were spliced ,but not taped and after the first week I found nuts on the garage floor. Nuts had fallen off brackets, because they were not tightened; resolved on my own.I am overall happy with outcome, price and service.

Jim phoned, requesting an earlier appointment and I was happy to accommodate. He arrived on time to install a new garage door opener. He performed the job quickly, in less than an hour, professionally and courteously. I could not have asked for or expected any more than I got. His name is now in my permanent file of "go to" people.

After calling several other companies and getting quotes as high as $1200, I found Durbin's ad in the Value Save mailer. I called and he was very polite and quoted me the lowest price. He was extremely professional and fast. He was also very honest about what needed to be done, he told me the price of the part and hourly labor cost. When he told me the factory cost of the 1 panel, I couldn't BELIEVE that the other companies had quoted such high prices!!! I'm a single mother and a homeowner. I try to support small, local businesses whenever possible. I appreciate his honesty and professionalism. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Called their number on Jan 4 and spoke to Jim Null. Set up an appointment for him to come out the next day to replace my garage door lift motor On Jan 5, even though he was only going to be 10 minutes late, Jim called beforehand to let me know -- which was appreciated. He replaced the lift motor, pulley bracket, belt, safety sensors and remote control. He even removed the old metal bracket that held the motor to the ceiling and replaced it with much sturdier components. Jim explained the unit's operation, gave me the manual, took all the old pieces with him to dispose of, and cleaned up the area. Then he charged me exactly what we had agreed upon, and told me how to contact him should anything come up. Overall, a very good experience. I'm sure to call him back should we ever need assistance again.
