Dan Weber, a third generation carpenter, honed his skills watching and working with his father from a very young age. Dan Weber General Construction, LLC is fully devoted to serving, satisfying and exceeding your expectations from our first conversation until our final inspection of your project. We make your remodeling dreams a reality by offering competitive prices and the highest quality of work. FREE QUOTES.
I found Dan Weber Construction on Angie's list and requested a bid. Dan was punctual and his bid was very competitive. I originally had Dan bid on and complete work on our basement rec room. I found Dan and those working with him to be very knowledgable and skilled at doing the requested work. He was very aware of code requirements and proper techniques. He completed all work on schedule and within the price quoted. He was also very accomodating when we asked for slight variations to the original plan. The work done on our basement gave me full confidence in Dan and team for other projects. I then had Dan's company complete installation of kitchen cabinets and a backsplash as well as install a ceramic tile floor in our hall bath. For all projects, Dan's company met and exceeded expectations and I was impressed with Dan's desire to make me a satisfied customer. I will defiinitely use Dan for future projects and have already asked him to bid on additional work.
Description of Work: Installed large rec room in basement including all framing, duct work, drywall, taping and finish carpentry. Also installed kitchen cabinets, ceramic tile back splash and ceramic tile floor in hall bath.

We anticipated eventually finishing this room in our basement as an office when we built this home 6 years ago, so much of the framing and electrical had been done. When we contacted Dan, he came out to the house within a few days to look at the space and gave us an estimate. We agreed on the price and work was started 2 or 3 days later. The entire project from start to finish took 1 week. The finished walls are terrific. The taping was very well done! The work site was cleaned both after the drywall installation and the finished taping. Dan always shows up on time. He's very professional and easy to deal with. We would not hesitate to use him again in the future.
Description of Work: Having used Dan before on a deck project, we contacted him to drywall and tape a room we are finishing in our basement.

Dan was great to work with. He was friendly, courteous and willing to work around our schedule. He called back the same day. We arranged for him to come in and give us an estimate. He had an estimate in the mail to us within a week. He scheduled the repair and got it done quickly and neatly. We were able to paint over the drywall repair and it looks great! You'd never know there was a hole there!
Description of Work: We had a hole in the drywall leftover from a plumbing repair. We needed someone to come in, brace the drywall back in place, mud, tape and sand it in preparation for painting.

Dan was VERY prompt in his initial call back. After coming out and estimating the job Dan was again very prompt in providing an estimate. Once a price was agreed upon we discussed a time to perform the work. We had a few other things happen that required immediate attention (A/C replacement, etc.) and we needed to delay the job for a month. Dan was understanding and asked that I call him back when we were ready. We selected a door, called Dan back and he said he would even pick up the door on the way to our house...great service!! He arrived, cut out the old door, fixed the flooring issue and installed the new door speedy quick! I would DEFINITELY recommend Dan for any future construction/remodel work in the future. He is a great guy and it was a pleasure doing business with him...
Description of Work: Replaced an exterior 36" door that went out to my deck. This also included the need to replace a small portion of my base floor and surrounding door casement as there was rot from water leaking in throughout the years.

Dan came out the week before and then sent us a quote. The initial quote was higher than what we were eventually charged because Dan was able to remove the door and fix it without having to cut a hole in the drywall. Our appointment was at 8:00 and he was exactly on time, and finished in less than an hour.
Description of Work: We had a pocket door that was no longer fully functioning....it was very hard to open and close and frequently jammed. Dan removed the door and installed new rollers; he also replaced part of the door's lock so that it would also work. It now works great, and we are very pleased.
As always everything was done efficiently and perfectly.
Description of Work: We have used Dan Weber on many projects ranging from a complete kitchen remodel, bath remodel, to partitioning the office differently. We have recommended him to family and friends and all have given him outstanding marks. He is a perfectionist and always goes above and beyond for customers. We have spent as much as $65,000 on one job to as little as $400 on the latest. I would never use anyone but Dan.

Dan came to my house to give me an estimate to repair a broken fence post that was leaning. He was on time and was very polite and professional. I had received estimates from 2 other companies who INSPECTED the "broken" fence post: one was for $285 and one for $325. Dan checked it out and then told me and showed me that the post wasn't broken at all, but simply leaning and very firmly in the ground. He pushed on it and sure enough it didn't move. Did the other two companies not thoroughly check it out or were they being dishonest? I don't know, but I do know that Dan did check it out and told me the truth and passed up the opportunity to make money. He was honest and didn't take advantage of me. I would recommend him to anyone to whom it is important to to have someone honest and dependable to rely on. By the way, he did not charge; me even for a service call!

Dan did an amazing job repairing our drywall. He had to remove a large section that had the compression crack then install a whole new board. With all the cutting and sanding that needs to be done on a project like this, Dan cleaned everthing up as he went along doing repairs. We are VERY happy with the results and we look forward to tapping into Dan's vast knowledge on home improvement and use him for remodeling projects we would like to have done. Dan arrives on time, is neat, very pleasant to work with and he listens to what you want done, then offers great suggestions to make it even better. This is why we want to use him again and again.
Description of Work: Our dry wall, in two separate bedrooms and a bathroom, had both compression and settling cracks that needed immediate attention. Dan came over right away, gave us an estimate on the spot and within the week, had all the work completed. Outstanding!

Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the work being done, and went beyond the call of duty. Mr. Weber was amazing! He removed all doors and trim. He installed all new white doors and white trim in my entire upstairs. He painted the trim and once the doors were hung he painted the doors and went back over the trim and filled in all nail holes and touched up the paint. He installed a new bathroom cabinet in my bathroom. He replaced the posts on my front porch. He was on time everyday, cleaned up any mess that was made that day and disposed of all trash and even hauled off all of the old doors and trim for me. I had a plumber come to replace an old fauct in my shower and he patched up the hole in my wall! Very polite, listened to everything I wanted done, offered suggestions, but did not pressure me to do more work! While he was at my home he was working every minute. I very much recommend Mr. Weber and will be hiring him once more to remodel my master bathroom!

I was so disappointed that Dan Weber forgot our appointment, and then never called back to reschedule. This is the second Angie's List contractor who has done basically the same thing. Why is that? My husband thinks "this is the way contractors operate". I'm a business woman who puts appointments on my calendar, and follows up as promised. I also value a great web site and personality - basically, doing business with someone I like and feel is reputable - which is why I was hoping I might have found a contractor for our basement remodel and future home improvements. So, this experience was lousy for me.
Description of Work: No services were performed because Dan Weber forgot our appointment. And, even though he promised to call back to reschedule, that never happened either. Too bad, because he has a great looking web site, seems like a nice person on the phone, and we have the money set aside to pay for the work - once we find a contractor we can count on.

,From start to finish, this project was awesome from the customer perspective. We had three companies provide estimates on the bathroom work, and Dan's wasn't the cheapest. It was right in the middle, but you could feel that he was giving you an honest estimate of the work. We trusted him, so we chose him. It was the right choice! We first met Dan to go shopping for the tub, since ordering that had the biggest impact on timing. He passed on his contractor discount and we got the tub (jetted!) and toilet for half price! It was great! Then, he suggested that we could actually move the entire wall to the neighboring room in order to gain more space in the bathroom, rather than just removing the closet. This was a minimal cost difference, and that allowed us to keep the toilet in it's original position which negated the need for plumbing work there. It was pretty close to a wash, and it was such a great idea. The neighboring room is so big we actually slept in it the first week we lived here, thinking it was the master, so you really don't miss the foot of space we took from it and gave to the bathroom. Steve even came over to help my husband move furniture out of the way prior to the start of the project. They went to work first with demo, and it was a huge task with all the heavy materials inside. But, we were quickly seeing the new subfloor go down, walls go up, new ceilings go in, etc. Dan kept us informed about what work was being done on each day, so we had a really good idea of what to expect. He consistently maintained the calendar to ensure that we knew exactly where we were in the schedule. I've never worked with a contractor that was more punctual, considerate, and consistent. I can't say enough about that! He hunted down unique material for our wainscot, because we wanted it to go horizontal and stain it a light gray color. He was always up to the challenge of finding just the right thing to fit our request and style. In the end, there is nothing I would change in this bathroom. It is beautiful, and even better than that, it is really well-crafted. I have no doubt that it will last another 75 years. When the glass installers came in, they made a point to comment that our shower was "perfectly level", which they almost never see! I can't wait to work with Dan on future projects, and already have two more in mind. I've referred him to four different people, so the biggest problem now might be getting on his schedule after you all see this review... We couldn't be more pleased with this project!
Description of Work: I will start by telling you our house is 75 years old, and the bathroom was original. I've had closets bigger than that bathroom, and I've seen grass that is not as green as this bathroom was. It was really terrible. The services to be performed included gutting the bathroom down to the studs, removing a closet from the neighboring room, rebuilding the wall in the neighboring room, installing new plumbing, new electric for new lighting, pocket door, drywall, a separate tub, custom tiled shower, new double vanity with medicine cabinets, new lighting throughout, tile floor, and custom stained wainscot.

I did not use Dan Weber Construction for my project because the estimate was way too high compared to the competitors. My project is a $20,000+ project so we aren't talking cents, we are talking thousands of dollars. All three of the estimates came in around the same price (+/- $1,500) but two of the three were for labor and materials. Dan Weber Construction's estimate only included labor, so I could imagine it would cost another $8,000+ just for materials. Once you factor that in Dan Weber Construction would be around 40-50% higher than competitors, WHY???

I found Dan Weber through Angie's list and liked the reviews that I read. I contacted him to discuss the above reapairs at my mother-in-law's home. I live out-of-state and I have Angie's list for my state and for Missouri so that I can assist my mother-in-law with finding good service providers. Dan Weber was excellant in discussing the work with both myself and my mother-in-law. I gave him a deposit to order the door which he promptly did. When the door arrived, he promptly replaced it and did excellant work. My mother-in-law is very happy with his professionalism and those who worked with him as well as with his fine workmanship. In the process of replacing the door, he did find that there was subfloor rot which did cause a lot of extra work. He showed my mother-in-law the rot and discussed the problem with her. The cost of the job did end up being about $200 more than estimated, but this is because of the additional time entailed for the problem he found under the door. I will definitely call Mr. Weber first when needed.
Description of Work: A sliding door needed to be replaced and subfloor rot repaired. Also, miscellaneous handyman services (dryer vent, caulking, redirecting downspout).

Very Happy with Dan and his team. Vvery professional, courteous, Prompt in doing the work and returning phone calls
Description of Work: I called Dan in March 2012 to get an estimate to redo my drywall ceiling in the garage as it had some water damage and also needed some repair. I also had a privacy fence that had been damaged during the wind/hail storm we had recently. Dan called me back that same day and we set up a time to do the estimate. He arrived on time and I received the estimate in a couple of days. When it came time to do the work Dan arrived earlier than he said and did an excellant job on the garage ceiling repair and replacing 6 post and about 30 feet of fence. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away. Dan and his team did a great job and I would diffinitely hire him again. If I had any questions he always called me back promptly. He was professional and courteous at all times.

It went very smoothly. As the drywall mud and sanding required three separate visits, Dan was prompt, showing up when he said he would and being very easy to work with.
Description of Work: Dan did an excellent job on my drywall. He responded to my request in a timely manner, submitted a competitive bid, was punctual and is an extremely pleasant person. I would definitely use his services again and would certainly recommend him.
Dan and his crew were great communicators and did all of the work in the time he promised. Even better, everyday they showed up at the time we had agreed upon and were very professional. Unlike other contractors I have used, these guys worked on the job every day until it was completed. All of the work was done to a high standard and everything now looks great. In the contract we had that I was responsible to pick out the tile and grout and Dan would furnish all other materials. After I chose the tile I talked to Dan and he found the exact tile for a better price and purchased it for me and passed along his discount to me. Dan went one step better and offered to pick up and deliver the material to our house, at no cost to us. Overall we thought the price was very fair and the final bill was as-quoted. There were no unexpected add-on's like I have seen from other contractors. I would not hesitate to use Dan again. I will recommend him to my family, friends, and all Angie's List members.
Description of Work: We had a waterline break and flooded the kitchen and part of the finished basement. The upstairs hardwood flooring and the basement walls and ceiling were ruined. First we had Dan come in and remove the basement carpet & pad and replace the insulation, walls and ceiling. Next we had the rooms painted and new baseboard installed. We were pleased with the work in the basement and awarded Dan the upstairs work. The next phase of the job was to remove the hardwood kitchen floor & baseboards and replace with tile. We had Dan not only tile the kitchen but also the laundry room and powder room. We also had Dan replace all of the baseboards on the first floor of the house.

He's done some minor things for us here at the house. He does all of our work because we have a rental property and a small commercial building too. He's very dependable. Dan came to the house and listened to all of our ideas of what we wanted to do with our fireplace and how we wanted to add built-in shelves. He worked up a price quote and gave us several options for the shelving. We selected the wood for flooring, and once it arrived at the store, he picked it up and delivered it to our home. He gave us a start date and showed up right on time. The floors were installed within a few days, and then he began the next project of the built-in shelves and fireplace remodel. He kept us informed along the way and finished earlier than he estimated. We highly recommend Dan Weber and will gladly call him again for future projects!
Description of Work: Dan recently installed 1,000 square feet of wood flooring in our home and replaced all of the baseboards. He also designed and installed custom built-in shelves and remodeled our fireplace. Best of all his custom millwork and attention to detail has made our home beautiful and our dream is now a reality. Dan is an honest, trustworthy, and hard working man that does excellent work.
Dan came in and really saved the day on this job. After having the existing fireplace and mantle removed and drywall/cement board installed, that guy blew us off when we tried to schedule the finished taping, then we hired a second guy who made a mess of the taping. Then we brought Dan in to help us finish the job which had taken two months up to this point. Dan brought in a real pro who tore off everything that had been done wrong and finished the drywall beautifully. Dan installed the tile on the hearth and the face of the fireplace. He built a new oak mantle and stained it to match my hardwood floor and installed it, found trim to match my hardwood floor and trimmed out the floor at the hearth and finished the baseboard trim. He also repaired the texture on the ceiling. The finished job is beautiful and exceeds our expectations. Dan was punctual and a good communicator. He came on the day he promised and finished the job in less than one week. We will hire him again.
Description of Work: Remodel fireplace: finish taping drywall, repair and re-texture ceiling, install tile, grout and seal, built new oak mantle and install, trim out floor at hearth and finish baseboard.
