Dan and his team insulated, drywalled, painted and installed organizational shelves in my garage. They did a vary good job and I decided to hire them to finish the basement. They were very helpful with the design of the basement and completing it in a timely manner. The basement project turned out excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to finish/remodel their basement.

We have used Dan to remodel our kitchen, put in new flooring in a family room and bedroom, and he just completed a bathroom remodel for us. We have been very pleased with all the work Dan has done for us. He is a super nice guy and very easy to communicate and talk with. If you need anything changed or extra add-ons he is always willing to do it. He fixes any issues that come up in a very timely matter. He takes great pride in his work and always takes that extra step to make sure everything is working properly and looks good. He is a super hard worker. We love our kitchen and bathroom. We will definitely be using Dan's services again on future projects. He is great at what he does!

Dan Weber did a great job finishing our basement with a bedroom, bathroom and family room. I had never done a project this big and Dan and his team thought of everything - from the bid/design to the finished project I couldn't have asked for more. They thought of things I never would have considered that enhanced the finished project. Also, there was great communication throughout the project - they arrived when they said they would or they let me know right away if there was any change - and they cleaned up after themselves. Any time I had a question Dan would respond with an answer very quickly. I will definitely hire them again for my next project.

This was the second basement finish project Dan has done for us in the past 5 years. God forbid we move again but if we do, Dan will be finishing that basement too. He has also done work for a friend of mine based on a referral. We finished the basement, added a small kitchen with bar, bathroom, bedroom, theater area, and playroom. All of this was done on time and at a price that was multiple thousands of dollars less than others and for better work. He's responsive, his people are respectful of your home and they constantly checked in throughout the project to make sure we were happy. Whether you are looking ot spend $20k or $100k, I would strongly recommend you get a bid from Dan. You will be happy with his work!

We used Dan to remodel our kitchen and his workmanship and reliability was excellent. We are very happy with the end result! We have used Dan twice now and would recommend him to anyone wishing to complete a remodel project. He and his crew were always reliable to show up when they said they would, and complete the task scheduled for that day. Dan's pricing is VERY reasonable, and he is very honest and is willing to do whatever you need him to do if it is within his power..
I found Dan’s company through Angie's list. We hired him to finish our basement which included a standard bedroom (with egress window), bathroom, open area and a wet bar. Our basement also included a professionally designed Home Theater room which needed construction materials and techniques not employed in a regular room to allow for sound isolation and treatment e.g. Double Drywall Construction, use of green glue and stone wool batt insulation. It also involved placing acoustic treatments on wall and building a professionally designed acoustic baffle wall for screen (like the ones in commercial movie theaters). Room also demanded complicated electrical and low voltage wiring as per my requirements. Several contractors I interviewed were intimidated by the unique demands of our project but Dan took on the project and worked with us to completion. Throughout the project, he was easily accessible by text/phone and I never felt he was trying to oversell or over promise me anything. Dan and his whole crew including Peter, Mark and Chuck were a pleasure to work with. They were professional, flexible and overall did a great work. On the whole, we are very satisfied with his work and will surely hire him again for any future projects or renovations.

We turned to Dan to help us finish a basement renovation that had gone wrong. We let the original contractor go due to performance and quality issues. Dan came in midway to finish the project. He was prompt, courteous and the quality of the work was excellent. His team was a good group of individuals. Dan even returned a couple months after the job was complete to solve a minor matter, and took several hours of his own time during a holiday week to help us out.

He never sent me a bid. I texted him and called him. When I went to leave him a message his voicemail was full. It’s tough to trust someone like that. I can understand if he wasn’t interested in my project, but he could have at least had the decency to let me know. I am never the type of person to leave a derogatory review on someone, but I felt that it needed to be said.
Description of Work: I was in the market for a basement remodel. I had Dan come out to give me a bid. He let me know that it would be about a week before I would receive it.
We hired Dan Weber to finish most of our 2100 square foot basement, starting in April 2018. When we bought our house 5 years ago, we immediately recognized that the untouched basement had unlimited potential, and started dreaming of all of the possibilities. Finally this spring, we got quotes from 3 different contractors. Dan’s price was reasonable and definite, and he showed that he wanted the business and could do the job. I was nervous that the basement wouldn’t live up to my high expectations, but we took the leap of faith. I am SO GLAD we did. The job proceeded on schedule and on budget (at least on Dan’s side - I went a little overboard on some of my choices of materials). Dan’s employees and subcontractors are all polite and professional. Especially Pete, who I think is both an incredible carpenter with unmatched workmanship and also just one of the nicest, most caring guys you will ever meet. Dan and Pete brought my vision of a little Mouse House/Harry Potter nook under the stairs to life based on Pinterest photos and our shared drawings. We also did a secret room with a trick bookcase. Everyone who sees these rooms now is beyond impressed and wants to know my contractor’s phone number. As a detail-oriented person (and an attorney), I had tons of “punch lists” and questions along the way. Dan received every single one of them with a smile and a positive attitude, which was so reassuring and made the whole experience so pleasant for me. He even welcomed my lists as a good way for us to stay in communication and keep track of all of the details. Ultimately, the job was completed in July of 2018, and I am thrilled to say that my basement dreams came true, exceeding all of my high expectations. All of the workmanship is top quality - the lines are straight, the cabinets are perfectly aligned, the doors are level, the electrical and plumbing and drywalling is all done right. If I find anything that needs to be adjusted, I know Dan will handle it. At this point, the only thing left for me to do is pay off my home equity loan and then hire Dan to update my upstairs kitchen and bathrooms. I can’t wait.

We hired Dan in June to finish our basement. It involved a new living room, bathroom and bedroom. In total it added about 900sf of living space to our home. He had a tall order to meet as we were expecting our first child at the time and he committed to us that the project would be completed by the time our little one arrived. He completed the project leaving us plenty of time to enjoy the new living space before the little one showed up. Throughout the project he kept us informed as well as he could have. Mostly by texting the evening before as to what was going to take place the next day or two. Whenever we had questions or concerns, he did a good job at explaining how our concerns would be handled. His crew and subcontractors were very professional and did great work. We really like our new finished space and look forward to using it.
Dan’s team did a great job on my basement. My finished basement now has a large game room and a bedroom. They also suggested opening up the stairway to the basement and I was very pleased with the result. The guys that worked on my house were considerate and professional.

We weren't able to move forward with the work as Dan doesn't save the area I live in. However, he took the time to refer me to other contractors in St. Louis. Overall, very professional and helpful
We contracted with Dan Weber General Construction to build out the lower level of our 3 yr old home. We added two bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchen/bar area, play area, family room with custom built-ins and storage areas. The project took approximately 12 weeks and turned out beautifully; we couldn't be happier with the results! Dan and his tradespeople were terrific! They were friendly, professional, and respectful of our home during the project. We could count on Dan for excellent communication and flexibility. We would highly recommend Dan Weber General Construction to others needing contracting services!
Numerous issues with the quality of workmanship ie., carpentry, painting, electrical. They did sloppy work and did not seem to pay attention to detail. More interested in getting the job done rather than doing quality work!
The kitchen was done over a 6 week period. It went very well. Dan does a great job communicating what is going on. It is very helpful to know what is going on and what to expect from day to day. Dan was quick to fix any issues that came up throughout the project. There was great attention to detail. We had hardwood flooring added to preexisting hardwood. You cannot tell where one started or finished. The backsplash that we picked out was more complicated than it appeared to be. The time and patience that was put into installing it was amazing.

One bit of information before I start this review: although we share the same last name, we are not related to, nor did we know Dan prior to this process. We found his company through Angie's List. We hired Dan and his crew to finish our basement, which was a completely blank canvas. All we had was a rough-in for the basement plumbing for a bathroom and an egress window for a bedroom. Before hiring Dan, he sat down with us and we explained what we wanted to include in our basement and what we imagined it would look like. He gave some very useful and practical design suggestions that we implemented when the process got started. On Dan's second visit, he sat us down with our quote and broke out exactly what is included in his services and what we would need to purchase on our own, but he would install. From the other quotes we received, contractors would give you a credit for certain items such as carpet, cabinets, lighting, flooring, etc. I like Dan's method a lot better because what we saw from our credit amount quoted from other companies, those amounts were considerably lower than what we actually spent on those items, and they do this just to try to quote you as low as possible, knowing you will probably end up spending more than that amount. Dan's way of doing this allows the customer to spend whatever they are comfortable with on these items without worrying about the credit amounts and working all of that out. Once Dan was hired he gave us a timeline of what would take place and who would be in and out of our house during this time (plumbing, electricians, his crew). I'll add that his entire crew and subcontractors were very professional and courteous each and every day. The overall process for our basement took about 2.5 months which was in Dan's estimate of 3 months for completion. Our basement includes a bedroom, bathroom, wet bar area, workout room and entertaining/recreation area in about 1500 sq ft of finished area. Dan, his crew, and subcontractors were responsible for framing, drywall, insulation, flooring (customer picks out and pays for but Dan's crew installs), plumbing, painting, fixture installation, tv cabling and many other things including a custom built bookshelf that turned out perfect. During the finishing process, Dan always communicated what was going to be completed that day/week and confirm with us that is what we wanted. As we all know, sometimes things don't come out as expected or planned, and this did happen on a couple of occasions. Dan was amazing when these situations arose. "No problem, we'll get that fixed" is what comes to mind when we would communicate about something not being how we thought it should have been. I'm not sure whether I drove Dan nuts or not, but he never made me feel like I did when I would call or text him about a certain part of the process. He always welcomed the calls and I'd end up feeling confident about the result. Anyone going through this process knows it is nerve-racking because you are spending a lot of money and want things to come out as you imagine. Dan puts all these worries at ease. There are always points that you are like, man I hope this turns out ok. But with Dan I can't tell you how many times I thought to myself, "Dan knows what he is doing and will make sure we are 100% satisfied." And he did exactly that. We could not be happier with how our basement turned out. I know this is a long review but Dan deserves more than "He did great" because he takes his business seriously and was a pleasure to work with. If we ever need other work done on our house, he will be the first person I call.
I can't overstate how impressed I was with Dan and the work he & his crew did in my basement. From day one he was professional, punctual, conscientious, and reliable in every sense. No project ever goes 100% the way it's expected to, but Dan handled every problem personally, completely, and to our satisfaction. Communication is one of Dan's particular strong suits. He never failed to return a call or message, even in the evenings or on weekends. If he was going to be 5 minutes late, I got a call. If there was going to be even a single "down" day with no work being done, I got a call with an apology and an explanation. He made sure that I was fully informed and involved in the progress of the project from start to finish. He hired the most reliable subcontractors and directed us to excellent suppliers (cabinets, flooring, etc). He takes pride in the work he does, and the quality is top-notch with no compromises. He made excellent suggestions for changes to our plans (which we usually agreed with) but in the end he always did it the way we wanted. Any mid-stream requests or changes we made were handled with aplomb. He was up-front, transparent, and very fair with prices, and we had no unexpected charges. He even passed on his full contractor's discount at the subcontractors and suppliers he used, so we didn't pay full-retail price for anything! He immediately acknowledged anything he didn't know how to do, never tried to fake his way along, and found the answer to every question I had. Never made promises he couldn't keep. It is so refreshing to find a contractor like Dan who can be relied upon to do it right. Shout-outs also to Rob at Capitol Group Kitchen & Bath in Brentwood, Kyle at Barefoot Flooring in Lake St. Louis, and C. Bennett Building Supply in Lake St. Louis. I have recommended Dan to several friends & neighbors, and we're already looking around the house for the next project to do so we can hire him again! I should also mention that one of the subcontractors angered our next-door neighbor by doing something stupid to their driveway. Dan smoothed everything over within a day and gave them a gift card to Lowe's for their trouble. Happy neighbors, problem solved.
Description of Work: Full basement construction from bare concrete, 1,600-1,700 sq ft of finished space. Included wet bar w/ appliances & cabinets/granite counters, work-out room, gas fireplace, media room, built-in cabinets, full bathroom, and more.
There were some delays getting started but some of those were our fault. Once the project got going, Dan and his crew performed the work quickly and efficiently. Dan submitted the lowest bid of three contractors we were considering for our project plus he had done some work for friends of ours and they were very pleased with the results. Dan takes the time to hire good people. Everyone was friendly and easy to work with. Dan and his guys are all consummate professionals who care very much about the quality of their work. We would recommend them to anyone.

Dan Weber was very Professional and easy to work with. His crew was courteous and friendly. The remodel of our Master Bathroom and the finishing of the basement turned out better than we imagined. I would definitely recommend Dan Weber General Construction for your remodeling needs!
Description of Work: Remodeled Master Bathroom, finished basement
This is my fiancé and my second time using Dan Weber for projects at our house. A year and half ago or so, we contracted him to update 2 bathrooms. In our new home, we utilized Dan to renovate the entire first floor of our house. The scope of this project was a new kitchen (cabinets, countertop, backsplash), new flooring, paint, and a half bathroom. In short, we are completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him to friends and family. Dan, personally, is a completely honest and upfront person who approaches potential jobs without preconceived notions. We had several contractors bid the current job. Dan was the only one who came into our home, listened specifically to the scope of the project, and returned a bid promptly that covered those points. When he made suggestions for additional work, they were exactly that, suggestions. He pointed out a number of items where doing it now would be orders of magnitude cheaper than doing it later. For example, some things had to be removed to put in the floor so put something new in is the same price in terms of labor as putting the old one back. We found these insights to be very helpful and we took advantage of a number of them. We never felt pressured to “do more.” Dan’s pricing scheme is simple to follow and easy to assess the value of. His bid included labor and “generic” materials. These are things you might expect like nails, screws, etc but also included paint, can lights and baseboards. You then provide the more customizable parts like cabinets, flooring, and light fixtures. However, Dan passes along transparently his contractor pricing on these if you purchase from select vendors. The benefit of this is you understand exactly where the cost is and in general can save a great deal on some of these larger ticket items. The one downside of this approach is that it requires a little more coordinating on your end but in our assessment the little extra work was more than made up for in the savings. He and his workers were prompt, professional, and did good work. When mistakes were made (inevitable in a large project) they were corrected without question or issue. At the end of each day, the would tidy up and leave the place as clean as a work zone could reasonably expected to be. Dan communicates well. Each night I would get a text message with the time they would be arriving the next day (we lived in our house during the renovation) and what to expect. When plans had to change he would let me know. Dan went out of his way to make things easier when possible. He allowed us to dump our moving trash into his dump trailer without added cost. He hauled away some heavy stuff we needed to clear and moved some appliances without added cost. The finished product is beautiful. My fiancé and I are completely satisfied and so happy with out investment. In a few years we will likely remodel our master bathroom; Dan will be our first call. That is the strongest endorsement in my opinion.
