Experience was really good

Great! Of course, our garage door spring broke on a Friday afternoon. When I called, they offered emergency service for that evening or we could schedule an appt for the following day saving us the cost of an emergency service call. The representative and I agreed on a Sunday afternoon service call between 2-4 p.m. Our service tech called 20 minutes before 2:00 to let us know he would be there promptly at 2:00 p.m. Mike started the service call with a full inspection before presenting the options for fixing our garage door. Fortunately, Mike had all off the parts required to fix our door on his truck. We were given multiple options and presented with the pros and cons of each option. We would definitely recommend them overall other garage door service companies we have used in the past.

Arrived an hour early-nice (except I had booked the appt based on someone being home that is mechanically inclined). Had rep come back in an hour. (This is when I decided to check them out on Angie's List-of course all the garage door businesses have an 'A' rating except the one I chose to use-lol). Sure enough, an hour later rep returned and my son greeted him-gave him access to garage door. Right off rep wanted insulation (which had just been installed last week-end) removed around wiring (come to find out-all he REALLY needed was to see that the wiring hadn't been punctured by staples-in that case no insulation would have to be taken down because it was easy to SEE). Rep stated that the insulation weight was the cause of the door problems (sounds good, but problem started 4 months ago-wasn't going all the way to the ground, about 4 inches off the ground the door would reverse. After insulation installed 4-days ago-then door began reversing from the top and had to be reversed every foot to actually get door to close to the ground. The door did in fact eventually close, so could be used, just wasn't very convenient to come-and-go). Of course the next thing he told us was that unit was almost 20 yrs old and parts (specifically the dead sensor) were no longer being manufactured (which I will check-out for myself in a bit via the internet and of course there they were-an after-market, but none the less would fit our opener). So by this time my trust was wavering, next he mentioned that the manual locking mechanism we requested would mangle the door (if we in fact forgot to remove it even once), but with a new model of opener he could also install a $600 electronic lock mechanism... Now by this time I just wanted him to align the sensor and leave. Throughout the "close" of his service call, he didn't make eye contact and kept searching in his I-pad for more "product" he might be able to sell us...In fact the bill came with two quote and the third quote for just what I had asked to be done...Nonetheless, not asking them EVER to come back.

They did good work, but was not a fan of high sales pressure

Excellent. They even called and asked if they could come early. They gave me pricing options and I chose the more expensive one with no pressure from the employee. My door has never run so smooth and quiet! I highly recommend them to others.

This service was performed three years ago by Precision Door and one of the springs broke again! I found out Precision Door had used two different springs; different length, different wire and one spring was an older model than the other one. Research on the internet and recommendations from another Overhead Door Company showed that using different springs will shorten the lifetime of the springs. I contacted Precision Door but they claimed they delivered quality work and the springs only have a one year warranty. This time I did my homework on Angie's list and for $110 less I had the same service performed but same size new springs, better quality rollers (nylon, which last longer and are very quiet) and a 5 year warranty on everything!

So far so good with them. At least I can say they came for garage door opener. They came in a timely manner and they were polite and they returned at the time they were supposed to and they are here to have done what they were supposed to have done. They had online registration. They called back promptly. The guy who came was professional and pleasant. I honestly do not know what the cost. They came on a Saturday, no extra charge and they didn’t charge extra – they have to come back and do something else that we decided to do and they didn’t charge any extra service for that.

Tech tried to upsell me on springs. Said I also needed new bearing assembly. I spent $200 for spring that took 15 minutes to install. I wrote a check and he had the gall to ask for my driver's license. I have had probably 15 different service people doing things around my house and yard and not one has ever asked me for a driver's license. Installer wasn't dressed professionally and shirt was filthy but that may have had something to do with his late afternoon arrival and installations earlier. I had to sign and initial in 6 different places on the invoice. Unbelievable. No company has a bid invoice so complicated. Evidently this company has lawyered up their documents. I won't be using this company again for service.

I had used them before (in spring on another home) and thought I had a problem after the door had rollers replaced. He came back the same day I called and found the problem. The problem was not related to his work but a stress crack in my oversized door. Great service and knowledge. Yesterday he called said he was coming, arrived on time fixed the problem, cleaned up his mess and was gone in 2-21/2 hours. Very polite and respectful young man.

Did not go well from the get-go. The installer arrived as promised, looked at the work to be done and began. I went back into the house to leave him to his work. When he knocked on the door to tell me the work was finished I went to the garage. The first shock was the door AND the opener were replaced. The opener was not supposed to be replaced, only the door. When I originally made the appointment, the owner and I discussed openers but they did not sell the opener I wanted and their openers were too expensive. I asked to installer to put my opener back and take his out. He told me he could not do that because the opener was and quot;destroyedand quot; during removal...(nice insurance for them). The installer called the office to tell them what had happened. The office told him the best they could do is give me a and quot;discountand quot; on the opener. The discount was still too high but I was out of alternatives (and they knew it). The next unpleasantry was upon operating the door. It rattled and clanked like it was 100 years old (MUCH worse than my old door). After two repeat visits for and quot;adjustmentsand quot; I was told and quot;that's as good as we can do...that's the way the door isand quot;. This was not any bottom-of-the-line door either. It was an upgraded, double walled insulated door. I then contacted the door manufacturer, Wayne Dalton Doors. They never even responded to my emails or messages. NEVER buy a Wayne Dalton door! The door still makes the devils own noise...the 25 year old door was silent by comparison. BEWARE...you have been warned!

They came out and secured the old door. It was not repairable. Ordered new garage door. It was special order and required a little more time to receive it, in fact the owner had to drive to Indianapolis to get it. Was delivered and installed as promised and looks good.

The service person was allright. Just a little pushy, but that might be the way they are trained. They have to come out again because one of the pieces that is attached to the ceiling in the garage was not fixed properly. When the spring snapped, it came loose. I will not use this company again. They are coming tomorrow to fix the problem, I hope, without any issues. They also have a $10.00 senior citizen discount listed on here, but told me they didn't know anything about it. I think they are overpriced and I didn't care for the job they did.

Good service. Called on Saturday for weekend appointment when the garage door opener wouldn't work, and they gave us one on Sunday. They called back with a late Saturday appointment which was great. Turned out it was an electrical problem, not garage door opener, and the serviceperson did not charge - also made sure the door was locked from the inside before he left. We used this company once before for a weekend appointment and were equally pleased.

They fried my garage door opener. It was an accident. I had been testing the button. The man said he needed to call his boss. They offered us a spectacular deal and reinstalled; we got a brand new garage door opener. They were very responsive. It was a positive experience. Everybody makes mistakes. They were prompt. They did everything they could to make it right.

Had a broken spring. The power was out and we couldn't open the garage door. Called Precision Door and they came out that day and replaced the springs.

Making the appointment was easily accomplished by telephone. Serviceman (Jeff) called approx 30 min before arrival and arrive within scheduled window. Evaluation of problem was thorough. Jeff explained options clearly in a professional manner and proceeded with the agreed on services expeditiously. All in all an excellent experience.

They did a good job. They were professional and quick. They kept up their appointment.

It only took about an hour, very knowledgable and explained what we needed now and what could wait.

ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON THE SPRINGS ON MY GARAGE DOOR BROKE, LOCKING MY CAR IN THE GARAGE. I CALLED THEM BECAUSE THEY ADVERTISE 24/7 SERVICE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE AT MY HOUSE WITHIN 1 HOUR. THE SERVICE MAN ARRIVED IN ABOUT 1/2 HOUR. HE LOOKED AT THE SPRINGS AND TOLD ME IT WOULD BE AN EASY JOB. HE GAVE MY SEVERAL OPTIONS FOR DIFFERENT SPRINGS AVAILABLE AND THE DIFFERENCES IN THEM. THE JOB TOOK ABOUT 40 MINUTES TO COMPLETE. I WOULD USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

Because of my work schedule, I needed a Saturday appointment. Curt showed up right on time. He checked all the components for wear or failure, took a look at the set up and had some recommendations. I asked him for prices and he wrote up pricing for a number of options. In addition to one or possibly two ways to eliminate the original problem, he also quoted me parts and labor for two grades of new rollers. He called the home office for their input on the problem and to verify that the recommended fix would work. We talked about what was causing the problem and I decided to have new bearing brackets installed that would prevent shifting of the cable drums. There was no pressure to replace the rollers, which I felt were still in good shape. The work was performed promptly and efficiently. Everything works fine. I expect the shifting problem has been solved. There was a $10 coupon on the website which helped with the cost, which seemed a little high.

Called them to install an opener on an existing door. They responded promptly and gave an estimate for an opener. The special opener they installed did not work properly, so I asked that they install a second one. This one did not work, either. At this point, I felt they were becoming slower to respond. The owner would not return my phone calls. I became frustrated and asked for a refund. They refused, citing that I had not allowed them to complete the work. I reminded them that they had installed two of the same kind of opener, neither of which worked. Also, they did not seem to know what to do in order to fix the problem of the opener, but rather just wanted to install new ones! Finally I called their headquarters and, with their assistance as well as the assistance of the BBB, received a full refund after a couple of months.

Great! The technician appeared on time. He evaluated the situation and corrected the problem using new parts to replace the old ones. He communicated the issue correctly and got on his way.

They were quick in their response time and the only place we contacted that would charge the regular price for an emergency weekend call. They fixed the problem to our satisfaction and charged us less than quoted.
