I called to request an estimate. They visited the property within 3 days, and I received the written estimate in the mail one week later. After comparing the estimate to others I received, I spoke with them about a few details, and they provided written estimates for two other types of roofs for my house. I did not use them for the job because they did not have the lowest estimate. However, they were polite and responsive.

Called them first thing in the morning. Within 2 hours they had made a temporary repair on my roof. We had perhaps five or so shingles blown off during a storm and the plywood was showing and more storms were forecast so we were concerned about preventing the roof from leeking. It took two weeks or so for them to get back to repair the roof properly. I had a wonderful experience with these people. They told us it would be a while to finish the repair, but the fact that they got out to the house within two hours to do the temp repair impressed me a lot. Also, they did not try to sell me a new roof when I did not need one. When I do need a new roof, I'm calling Richard's Roofing.

They came out right away after my hail damage to give me an estimate and I never heard another word from them. I already had a check for $20,000 from my insurance company but they weren't interested enough to give me the estimate or call to tell me they are too busy.

Everything turned out well. They had a very well-written contract that was clear and easy to understand. They were also willing to do some custom trim work done at the same time without any complaints. The crew was polite. The crew leader came and talked to me about the work being done. I didn't even have to ask him anything; he came to me first. The workers all looked like professional guys that knew what they were doing.

After being referred by another roofing company as experts with flat roofs, I contacted Richards Roofing and received a written bid of the work that needed to be completed. The bid included all work details for the damaged roof area and the option for repairing the skylight. Richards Roofing was thorough with the bid and offered me the option of the skylight repair after realizing it was a problem waiting to happen. I signed the bid and provided 1/3 of the contract amount, as specified. In less than two weeks, the entire project was completed, and I came home to a door hanger with a personal note and contact information in case there were any problems in the upcoming winter season. I was so satisfied, I started telling everyone about my great Richards Roofing experience that very evening.

I have been very pleased with the work that they did. They were very prompt and did a wonderful job. They made sure to clean up after themselves. They came right out when a squirrel made a leak in my roof and repaired it. They have been very good to work with.

Richards Roofing has been out twice to repair the leak in my roof. The first time was $475 and they were out for one hour. After I complained and they said they would only charge for the time spent. They did not go on the roof to diagnose the problem. The roof leaked again in the same place. The second time they charged me $75 even though the leak was in the same place. A year later my roof has a leak in the same spot and they want to charge $475 to fix it the third time. In the mean time the ceiling in our bedroom is falling apart from water damage. Richard Ray is difficult to work with and has no compassion or responsibility for the job being completed correctly. I would not recommend any roofing work be done by this contractor. They do not stand behind their work and are contrary to work with.

The experience was very good with them and they did the job well. I like there workmanship and there price was reasonable. They were also punctual and finished the work in timely manner. They also cleaned everything after the work was done.

They completed my roof, did a very good job and finished it just before a major rainstorm (lucky for both of us.)

Overall, they were very professional and did very good work. They mailed us a quote which was a bit higher than the others we had gotten, but were willing to work with us to fit within our budget. I received the quote quickly, and after scheduling it, the work was done quickly. I'm very pleased with our results and would not hesitate to do business with them again.

The experience was good. They fixed it for me. The competency and professionalism of the representatives that came out was fine. A lot of times I did not design the thing on the roof and they started right away.

Their quote was on target. They were prompt, professional and courteous. They did everything they said they were going to do.

I found that Richards Roofing was rated as No. 1 under Angie's list in the respective category, and had the most recommendations. That was the reason why I called them. Out of two other estimates I had, they turned out to be the best and I had them come out for the repair work. They lived up to the quality of the ratings they had on the list. I have a brick house with a flat roof through which water was leaking. They came out and fixed the problem.

Great experience. Did the work as committed.

They were slow to get back to me. We played telephone tag and was never able to talk to anyone directly. When the bid was finally left on my front door it was more expensive than another bid. They did come recommended by another roofer.

They came by to provide a bid and were very professional. He was honest to let me know I did not need any work done on my gutters. I would definitely call them again.

With heavy rain, water was leaking along top of front door and also into a ceiling light fixture in downstairs room of my daughter's two story recently purchased house. Because she had no idea of what to do or whom to call, we gave her some companies to call. Richards Roofing and Exteriors was the first company she called. They responded relatively promptly. The inspection was thorough. The recommendations were reasonable. The work was well performed. All rubbish was removed. The workers were very professional, but also friendly and willingly answered questions. We observed the work performed, and assisted with the payment of services. My daughter and two grand-daughters had just moved to St. Louis from N.J. This is my daughter's first home as a new single parent. We are giving our daughter a gift membership to Angie's List for Christmas!

The foreman communicated with me about everything that was going on. He also asked before deciding or continuing to do the work and kept me informed. Everyone cleaned up really well after themselves.

They were fine; they came and repaired it one time and it still leaked, and so they came back and they left a note that said they fixed the problem, but it has not rained yet, so we have no way of testing it.

They were prompt and professional. Secretary took message, Ray called us and let us know when they were coming, left reasonable estimate, completed work within 2 weeks once approved. I like that Ray offered to replace both soil pipes since he said its cost effective even if only the 1 is leaking now. This may save going though the entire process next year with the other soil pipe. Another top rated Angie's list member offered to replace 1 pipe for 345- so their estimate was reasonable. The only thing not clear is if they offer a warranty on their work. When I asked the secretary she said its reviewed on a case by case basis- but I'd like to be assured if that vent pipe leaks in 6 months they will at least come back and caulk around it. We plan to call them for future roofing jobs.

Richards Roofing was much, much higher than the other estimates I had received. However, I had a good feeling about them, mainly because of their professionalism and thoroughness. I thought they were catching areas that the other companies had not. The contract did not state a "guarantee" of work. However, the representative verbally over the phone promised me "1 year no leaks whatsoever" which I wrote onto the contract before I signed it. Well, it took over two months from the time I signed the contract (and submitted a deposit) until they work could get started. This was mainly due to the bad weather and the fact there were other contracts waiting in front of me. Bad timing more than anything. I would have liked them to stay in better contact with me during this time. In fact, when they came out to start the work, I had been out of town and had no clue they had been there. Their communication was definitely lacking. However, whenever I did call they were quick to help and very friendly. They just weren't very proactive. Well, right away after they completed the work I continued to have leaking problems. This was much to my shock. However, I must say that Richards was quick to honor their promise and come out to "fix the problem." They never asked for more money or tried to say it wasn't their fault. However, I had to have them back 3 or 4 more times because the leak didn't stop!!! It was crazy and I was about to lose my mind. Although I was disappointed in their work, they were quick to come out and try to resolve the problem. About 6 months into it, the leaking stop and I felt the work was complete, but I have to wonder if it's going to start leaking again when winter kicks in. But in any case, I have a few months left on my "guarantee." In the end, I feel like they were too quick to diagnose the problems with my roof. From the get go, they were too quick to try and come up with a solution rather than get to the root cause. Also, I felt like some of their work was very rushed and perhaps not supervised properly, resulting in sub-pas results. If they weren't so nice and professional, I'd probably be upset. However, I respect the fact they kept working to resolve the problem and not leaving me out in the cold. For that reason, I would use them again. I feel like they have high standards. Perhaps my job slipped through the cracks a little?!

They came out, evaluated and fixed it in a weeks time. They were very quick and their work is high quality. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

The contractor immediately responded to our request for a bid and made several trips to our home before any work began. He made an extra trip to accommodate mine and my husband's conflicting schedules so we both had an opportunity to discuss the job in person. We received a detailed professional estimate delivered to our door within a day or two, with large roof samples delivered as soon as we narrowed our selection. The work began on time and the crew leader kept us informed of progress every step of the way. The crew leader also excluded work originally estimated to be done, which he determined was unnecessary once he was able to pull our skylight, and the contractor refunded the cost of the material pertaining to that work. The job extended longer than estimated, however, we felt the crew put a higher priority on the quality of the work than they did the schedule (which was exactly how we wanted it!). I was also impressed with the crew's stamina in the St. Louis summer - they worked hard without compromising safety or health. The crew did a good job cleaning up, and we were surprised to see a separate clean-up person follow later. My husband and I were very pleased with the service and the quality of the roof we received and highly recommend Richard's.

Not a good beginning but a very good outcome. Recommended. Made appointment to meet estimator. However, the estimator arrived 20 minutes early, measured the site based on an earlier e-mail description and left before I arrived. Very inconvenient, as I had already left office downtown to make the appointment. Wasted my time and made a very poor initial impression. Estimator sent two quotes-one for the job I wanted plus another for work I did not need and that we did not discuss. The estimate for the gutter replacement was a bit higher than competitive bids, but the materials and method (seamless) were better and Richards has a strong rep and highest rating on Angie's List. The work was completed within a week of returning the contract. The color match was as requested. Workers left the job site in very good shape and did no damage to lawn, shrubs, etc. near the house. Did find three installation nails on the driveway. Overall, a good experience. I would hire Richards again and do recommend them to others.

They did a good job, it hasn't rained since they did it so I can't judge on that. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. They weren't timely, they kept putting me off and said they weren't coming because we had storms, and they were busy and backed up. When they did come they completed the job in one day and took away the trash.
