They are very professional and they do not leave a mess at all.

.They came as soon as the weather permitted and brought a large group and did the roof in one day. Later on another person came out and worked on the gutters, and the walls behind the flashing because this had all rotted away and needed replaced. He put the flashing on and overlapped the roof enough that it would go into the gutters. Than another group came out and put the gutters on. Each group has their own profession they specialize in even though they can do all of it. They sent out another person that did the windows and carpentry. They had to make two of the windows special.

I was very satisfied. I don't believe that I found them on Angie's List as it was a recommendation. I did not look on Angie's List because I got a recommendation. So, I am glad to put them on Angie's List. Everything was good and I would like to grade them highly down the line. I was very satisfied with all aspects of the work.

They explained what they were going to do. They knew the whole thing. They were responsible. They took care of everything. I’m happy with them. It’s a one day job. Till now they seem to be great. I had no problems till now. They showed up on time. They did what I told them to do. I would use them in the future.

The job went well. Their rep came out on time and promptly prepared contracts. The workers were on time and cleaned up well. We have also used them to replace 2 windows; that also went well.

Found this company on Angies list. So I called them for an estimate. The woman whom I spoke with said the estimator was out of town that week. I gave my contact info and was told I would get an estimate in the mail within 2 weeks. I heard nothing back from this company.

We've had so many storms so a lot of siding people blew me off. So far the guy was real good. He gave me an estimate and emailed me back to tell me he couldn't tell me exactly when we would do the work. he said as long as they didn't need to get inside at all then they would just come and do the job someday. That's fine with me, it's outdoors stuff and he doesn't need to announce himself to come and do the job. So far so good with them. We found him on Angie's List.

Do research (internet) as much as possible about different materials, installation methods, valleys, etc.. Lots of shingles and other materials out there. Of importance to me were the gutter hangers, gutter thickness, material type, size of gutters and downspouts. I researched amount of drainage needed, etc., since I have a really long run of 90 feet which can hold about 1200 pounds of water . By the time I made the intial contact, I had completed a lot of research and listed quite a few questions. After initial contact and questions answered, I did some additional followup research. The only dissatisfaction came with the clean up. They did an absolutely terrible job of picking up the nails and staples. I finally went to Harbor Freight and bought a 30 inch magnet on wheelsl. I gave up counting, but after the roofers came back and cleaned up a second time, I still found a lot of pieces of metal around the two buildings. Most of the metal was roofing nails and staples, but also found a fair share of guttering nails. I estimate I found about 1000 pieces of metal in total. Many of these were staples and partial staples. Still, there were hundreds of nails.

Water coming in over doors. Found that there was no drip cap installed by door installer. Called to get estimate of situation and frankly someone to just come out and install the flashing in an appropriate fashion since it was leaking A LOT after each rain causing interior damage. Company returned call 2 weeks later but I had already rectified the situation because of the amount and severity of the leak.

The roof was installed as agreed, and we had no significant problems with leaks for several years. However, in the spring of 2011 we experienced heavy rains and a leak developed. The ceiling bubbled and then broke though, and we had water damage to some of our furnishings. When we called in a repairman and an insurance adjustor to determine our next course of action, we discovered that there was mold in the ceiling indicating leaks over a long period of time. We decided to tear the ceiling out. We then called in Richards to determine the source of the leaks, and their employee traced them to the fact that the flashing had not been replaced when the new roof was installed in 2007. That gentleman, the insurance adjustor, and several contractors all agreed that the flashing should have been replaced. Richards agreed to install new flashing and repair the siding at no cost. However, the cost of the leaky roof and damaged room was significant; we had to move and pay storage for all the furnishings, and we did not have use of the room for more than two months while repairs were being made. The cost of repairs and related expenses were $6300, and this was not covered by insurance since the damage was not 'sudden and accidental'. When we hired Richards to fix our leaky roof in 2007, we were relying on their expertise to do whatever was necessary to prevent future leaks. Each expert we talked with about the situation agreed that the flashing should have been replaced when the new roof was installed. Failure to do this ended up costing us a great deal in money, time, and effort.

Very smooth. So clean and quiet I didn't even know the roof had been repaired until I called to check on progress. Excellent repair. Totally fixed the rain leak problem.

Gave me great advice on all the choices available. Took time to explain the warranty options. Very nice crew did the work. Clear they were experienced - it was extremely hot but they worked very hard regardless. Very easy company to do business with. If only everything worked this well!

We were referred to Richards from Paul Embree roofing, when the business closed due to Embree's retirement. Richards has been responsive and professional

They came out to look at the skylight that was leaking. Found out the caulking had not been applied properly and checked the other skylights. It was still leaking after the work was done. I called them back and they removed the shingles to find the problem. They fixed the flashing and fixed the problem at no extra charge.

We were a little concerned with how to get these large skylights replaced (ie: what kind of a mess would be made by having someone replace them, etc). But we shouldn't have worried. We are 'Very Satisfied' with the experience in working with Richards Roofing and Exteriors. They made "neatness" out of an ugly mess. We would use them for anything around the house that they could tackle. Highly recommend this company.

I found them on Angie's List and they were excellent. They did an absolutely wonderful job. We had a tornado and after I asked them to come out and check it and they said it was fine. They said to call them to come back in a couple of months because some times with this kind of roof it take some time for the damage to show up.

Called for an estimate and they sent us one with a brochure of colors and styles to choose from, and gave us addresses to see their actual installation of the color and style we were interested in. We put down a deposit and they called us with a target date. On the day of, they called it off due to rain and rescheduled for the next day. The next day they gave us a reminder call so we could remove our cars from the driveway which they had to block. They mostly finished but ran out of shingles and had to come back the next day for an hour or so. Beautiful clean timely job.

I was happy with them. We never met anyone from Richards Roofing. They did the bid while we were gone, mailed it and we talked on the phone. I was mildly disappointed that they didn't make it clear on the bid that the work would be subcontracted for gutter, but it clearly states so on their Angies List profile - so my fault. We really like the man they subcontracted out to, though it made me a little nervous that he worked alone with the roofline being so high. They were also helpful in matching the right color with windows that we had ordered but not had installed.

We got three competitive bids. They weren’t the lowest but we were most comfortable with them. The other folks did not even comment on our downspouts repair which they did. They did an excellent job. They were very straightforward and honest. They got everyone when they said they were going to get here and completed it in one day. I don’t remember how much I paid but it was competitive. They weren’t the highest but I thought their bid was the most comprehensive. They were excellent. They did a good job. I would most definitely use their services again in the future.

Went great! The only issue was coordinating a time/date for the initial visit fothe estimate took a little longer than I expected. Work was done quickly and looks better than before. They showed me how the roof had been installed wrong - without being overly critical of the company that did the work. They were the first bidder - but I was so impressed I didn't even get a second bid. Getting lots of rain lately - but no leaks. Have recommended them to friends.

They gave me a quote when they said they would. They were the only ones that were able to do anything that worked to fix the problem. They were very professional and responsive.

I called the company and requested a bid for replacing the gutters. The company came out and later mailed the bid. I contacted the company and agreed to the bid. They gave me an estimated installation date. They called the morning of installation to tell me they were on the way to my house. The arrive completed the work and cleaned up the area. A follow-up call was made to check my satisfaction with the work. I was very pleased with the total project and the professional manner of this company.

Everything went well. They came out pretty quickly and the price was ok.
