Sure Lock & Key

The serviceman was one and a half hour late. I had to call the company to see when and if he would arrive. I was not offered any apology. When the serviceman arrived, he did not offer any explanation of why he was late. A simple call would have solved this problem. The service performed was under twenty minutes and I felt that the expense was not in line with the service provided. Thank goodness I had a coupon

It went very well. Representative came very promptly, replaced the front door lock. When he was here I also had him replace the locks to the 2 patio doors. He was very professional.

I called to schedule an appointment with Russ and he fit me in the very next day. He showed up towards the end of the one hour window, but still within the timeframe given. Right away he got busy on the lock and knew exactly what the problem was. The locks were not easy because they were antique. He made some minor adjustments that I would not even have thought about and got the door working properly. He gave me some suggestions so that I would not have to replace the entire door knob, which could be pricey given that it was an antique. He even took a doorknob that matched off of a door in my attic that wasn't being used to replace it with to work better. He described in detail the spindle that I would eventually need so that I could save money be ordering it myself. Then, he worked on the next lock. This lock had been broken into by another locksmith company and was left inoperable. He replaced the inside part so that I wouldn't have to purchase a whole new lock and even made it so that my key would work in it. He also made me some spare keys. On the last lock, he made some adjustments so that it would work much better, but didn't want to waste my time and money as he said that it would actually need some carpentry work so that the lock is more stable. He was very aware of the time so that I wasn't being overcharged. I'm very happy with all of the work that Russ did and am so happy that all of my locks are now in working order! Russ was very pleasant during every stage of the appointment and I would definitely call him again in the future. Highly recommended!

Showed up on time, took about 20 minutes. When I mentioned my Angie's list coupon, the rep said there might be a new homeowner deal that might save me more - he checked and he was right! Would definitely use again

Russ was our technician, and was late. However, he did something unheard of which was to call right around the original appointment time to notify us he was running around 20 minutes behind. Very professional thing to do, and it was no problem. Then he arrived right on with that time. He was highly knowledgeable, thorough, and jovial. A pleasure to have working on our home. He even went above and beyond what was covered in their estimate by drilling out the slide holes in two door frames which were causing the locks to not catch securely. No charge for the extra time. He just wanted to be sure everything was working perfectly. I wish all technicians in their various fields were so professional, and cared that much their work. Highly recommended.

I called them to fix a lock on my home, thinking the whole lock and handle would have to be repaired. The repairman was on time, and got the job done very quickly. He determined that he would be able to fix the lock instead of having to replace it, saving me quite a bit of money. I was very pleased and would definately recommend them.

We had sure lock and key come in and re-key all the doors in the house the day after we closed on our new house. That was a Saturday morning - first thing in the morning - and no issue scheduling it. The locksmith was able to explain to me the types of locks in our house. We had to have two sets of keys - the front door and everything else. We had initially thought maybe the front door lock was sort of broken - since a good percentage of the time it didn't seem to engage and you could just turn the key over in the tumbler forever. We learned it was a rare and finicky lock by a company that went out of business and that it could not be keyed the same as the rest of the locks. But he was able to show me how exactly to use it so that it engaged correctly every time. If it ever does break down - we will be giving him a call back.

My technician from Sure Lock & Key was prompt and very friendly. He was efficient - the whole process probably took less than 20 minutes. He even went out of his way to re-cut my old "pretty" green house key at no extra charge. He also let me know that my old locks had been a "master key" from the previous owners, which I didn't know. Overall, a great experience.

Wow, what a pleasure! The serviceman arrived on time, explained what he could and could not do, rekeyed a house full of locks, repaired the front door lock--all with no mess, no problems, no issues. Everything went fine. They got the problem fixed and the job was done well. He had the materials in his car which really helped out with the extra door we weren't planning on fixing.

They were able to salvage our door, and performed all of the work for less than the cost it would have been to just repair the mortise lock itself. I feel that this is a very honest company, and they were very easy to work with. Also, when winter came we noticed a small area that was leaking cold air. We called Sure Lock & Key, and they came out the next day to fix the problem free of charge.

When I called to get a price, they were very good at describing the process and pricing structure. They had someone out as scheduled and he worked very efficiently.

Excellent! Contacted Sure Lock and Key on Monday. Set up appointment for 2pm on Tuesday. everything was complete including additional keys and billing by 2:30pm. I had a very positive experience from start to finish.

Russ arrived early (good for him) and asked whether it would be convenient for him to go ahead and get started. That was all right with me. He was courteous and pleasant and dressed in a company shirt. After I explained what needed to be done, he went ahead to check the locks, rekey them and make the number of keys I needed. Since I didn't compare prices with anyone else, I cannot say whether they were high or not. I needed the new locks and keys today but Russ was very pleasant and professional. I would call them again.

Everything went fine and was very easy. Discovered that this was a job that would have been very easy to accomplish on our own, but we were expecting to have to replace a whole handset, rather than just the $12 doorknob. An expensive lesson, but he did a good job.

When my husband and I showed up at our storage locker we rent, the lock was rusted on because it had not been used or checked in awhile. We squirted products in and on the keyhole to try to get the key to turn. We even tried giant bolt cutters, but could not get a good angle to succeed. We found Sure Lock and Key on Angie's List and their rating made me call them. Because it was not an emergency situation, we made an appointment to meet them at the storage locker on a Monday instead of the weekend. The technician (I forgot his name) arrived a little bit late, but nothing that would irritate me. We went to my storage locker and in less than 15 minutes he had sawed it off with a special electric saw. The price for this was less than what I had been quoted over the phone, even before I gave him the Angie's coupon they offer. The technician was friendly, professional, and very quick. I'd call them again if I needed a locksmith.

My old porcelain doorknob on the inside of my front door kept falling off. I called Sure Lock and Key to see if it could be replaced. I was told that porcelain ones were no longer being made, but I was able to get a fake glass one. This was perfect because all of the other interior door knobs in my home are glass. Since my home is soon going on the market, I asked to have the lock rekeyed along with my back door so they would be keyed the same. The appointment was set up for the very next day. The locksmith who came was very professional. He tried to save me money by saying he could simply install the new door knob/rosette, but I explained that I wanted to guarantee a new owner that the locks had recently been changed. He went back to the shop to get needed parts (I had been told on the phone the day before that this was a possibility) and was back in about a half hour. The work was done well and on time by a very pleasant, professional locksmith.

The serviceman Russ came on time, and he was extremely competent, nice and worked very fast. He did not mind that I watched over his shoulder and asked him questions. He removed the mortise lock, took it to his truck, repaired the interiors and put everything back again. Because he was so experienced, I also asked him to fix several other lock-related issues that I originally had not planned for. He fit keys to old storm doors, and a kitchen cabinet and he re-aligned the deadbolt on a porch door. Overall an excellent experience and I highly recommend this company!

Repairman showed up early for the appt. He walked into a mess that I had created by trying to repair/replace the lock myself. He told me his concerns with the door due to the prep work i had done. Due to my efforts I'm sure his job took longer and i know it was more difficult. However the results could not have been better. The only thing I would have done differently is i would have purchased the new lock from Sure Lock $ Key to get the proper lock and even more customer service.
