No problems, but it would have been $60 just for the guy to come out and look at my property. I declined.

I could not have been more pleased with the job provided by Sundown. The crew showed up on time as promised and despite a rain delay I was kept informed when the job would be completed. The crew was friendly and obviously very experienced. They seemed to anticipate what I desired, followed through with my suggestions and even did some extra things that were not on the bid. I particularly enjoyed working with the designer, Barb Riney and the owner, Dave Haring.

It went well this is approximately the third time that I have used sundown. I would recommend them . The thing I really appreciated about them is that we were supposed to have this work done last year, however the weather was so bad. The company stored the stones and supplies for at least eight months. I found that to be very accommodating to me.

Dave was great to work with, provided a thorough plan based on his assessment of the land and our needs. His team did the hardscaping in back--grading, hauling in stones, creating a dry creek bed--and they did a great job. Very nice guys, hard working. They also planted a row of bushes, per the plan. And Dave was happy to answer our questions for a portion of the plantings that we did ourselves. We do expect to use them again as we complete the project.

Dave, the owner, is very friendly & professional. Workers showed up on time did great work and cleaned up wonderfully after the work was complete. High recommend.

Timing was delayed due to wet weather, but once work was started, it was completed in one day. Very professional!

As I wrote earlier, I'm glad I chose Sundown. By comparison, another firm didn't even reveal the clogged pipe. They instead quoted several expensive options (~$5-15k) to install a new pipe to the street and make minor revisions to the patio. Before coming out, Dave said he would not charge me for the ~60-90 minutes he spent scoping out the situation. Because of the unknown nature of the problem, we agree that he'd have guys come out on a T&M basis to fix the one pipe. There were challenges getting them out (which is reason for only "good" on responsiveness and punctuality), but I cut them slack because the original visit was in December so winter weather kind of prohibited it (and he's far better with email, which I strongly prefer, than many other providers). On 4/1, a two man team came out and struggled to fix it. There was talk of some expensive alternatives. But in the end they managed to do it so that was a big win. This may not solve everything and we might need to spend more money later but I like Dave's smart approach to seeing what happens now that this one part is fixed.

Very professionally done - good communication and creative suggestions. Listened to my ideas and followed through on them. Good working, professional crew with good consideration of neighbor's yard (workers needed to bring materials through neighbor's yard). I am very pleased with the work.

We worked with landscape designer Barbara Riney. She is smart and capable and easy to work with. They do not give free landscape designs but do refund a % of the design fee if you hire the company for landscaping installation. We initiated contact in March of 2014. Over the course of the summer we met with Barbara several times and received 3 different revisions of the landscape designs based on our input. (okay, I'll admit we micromanaged this part of the process). By August we were ready to have them install. Weather and scheduling delayed things even more. Finally all done by October 2014. Cold weather hit very quickly after that, so we haven't fully enjoyed it yet. I think they did a fine job. We had David, the owner, on site most days. We always had the job foreman on site, and Dave's son was also there almost the whole time, acting as a secondary leader for the team and facilitator for us the owners. The team of workers were amazing: careful, thoughtful,hardworking, polite, friendly and best of all cleaned up after every workday. And there were some rainy and really muddy workdays. After all that time micromanaging the design, there was alot of "onsite placement". This means that you can and should expect Dave to make adjustments on the fly. Due to huge water drainage issues, Dave adjusted tree placement and added much more berm area and rock and even PVC pipe burial to resolve this. The end result is aesthically pleasing and practically addresses the problems. The quality of plant materials is very high. But of course time will tell. I am especially delighted with the sodded areas. They look great. Do trust Dave's knowledge and expertise. Don't forget to move your cars, because they workers will block your driveway with trucks and etc. Was it worth the money? There may be cheaper companies out there, but the peace of mind of once and done is hard to place a price on. I will try to remember to add pictures to this review in the spring.

The creek bed looked so wonderful that I wished I could have made it more of a "feature" in my back yard! The crew worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves each day. Dave Haring came out to get them started and was very attentive and responsive when I had questions and concerns. He and his crew took great pride in the work that was done as well they should. It looks exactly like I wanted it to, more of a woodland, although I will have to wait at least a couple of years for the end result (screening my yard from neighbors home)! He also gave me explicit instructions on how to care for the new plantings before winter set in.

They are excellent. They do different things. The price depends on what you want done.

I have used Sundown previously and would not hesitate to use it again. I have in fact given the company's name to a friend. There are no unpleasant surprises when dealing with Sundown. They arrive when they say they will, they charge what they estimate and Dave is a pleasure to work with. I am not much of a gardener personally as I don't always have the most patience but Dave is as good as dealing with people as he is dealing with plants.

Sundown did a great job. We would definitely use them again.

The tImely, courteous and friendly crew completed the job in less than 3 days. A new fresh look to the front of our house completed the work Dave planned for us a couple years ago after Sundown did a great job in the rear of our house. Our satisfaction with their previous work convince us to use Sundown again. Dave was great to work with, open to questions and allows for changes if requested by the owner.

Dave spent a lot of up-front time on the planning of this project. He helped us determine the best use of our backyard and patio area. He really listened and took the time to come up with a very complete plan and we loved it. He did all the landscaping work and recommended someone for the concrete work. (He was also excellent).

It was completed in one work day. It all went very well just as the drawings and plans indicated. My wife and I are very satisfied and happy customers.

It went well. They were able to get this completed while we away on vacation and came home to it looking great.

Was able to schedule an appointment within a few days after calling. Meeting with Dave at my home on September 18. I told him the things I was sure that I wanted to have done but with respect to the front, I asked for his suggestions as I really have no real experitise with plants. He followed up a few days later with a written narrative and most appreciated by me, picturesof the plantings he was recommending. I signed contracts and returned them by the end of September. The work was begun and finished within 3 days (scheduled for 2 but interrupted by a day of rain). Dave was extremely professional and was able to interpret my vague ideas about the front into something concrete and appropriate. I would use them again.

My first experience with Dave Haring and Sundown Landscape Contracting was in May 2013. Dave arrived at my house on time and listened to what I wanted done. Almost immediately, he had a landscaping plan for me. What I liked the most, besides his plan, was the fact that he told me how to correct my current landscaping problems. He told me to cut back some of my front yard bushes, to spread powder on my boxwoods because they had mites, and to cut 3-4 roots from the Maple tree whose roots were above ground and then add soil to topdress over the roots and overseed. Dave sent me a contract for the landscaping work I wanted done now and also included a contract for the future landscaping which we had discussed. I wasn't home when the stone edging was cemented in and the plants were installed, but my neighbors told me they did a very professional job. Dave stops by occasionally when he's in the neighborhood to see how my plants are doing, and I appreciate this follow up. He gave me a 5% Angie's list discount for my first landscaping job and gave me an automatic 5% discount on my second landscaping job. I would highly recommend Sundown Landscaping Contracting.

He told us we needed to talk to our neighbors about the solution. We spoke to the neighbors and they were fine with us going onto their property. Sundown was very nice and gave great advice. He told us to try the simplest solution which is way less money. We would have gone with Sundown's services if our neighbors would not have been ok with water going onto their property.
