Description of Work: I called Reinhold Electric Co because I was having with fuses for my furnace. I found Reinhold on Angies List. They had an excellent rating. Jerry, the owner, answered the phone (which surprised me). I told him my problem and he assured me he would get a technician out to my home around 1:30 p.m. (I work until 1:00). Jason Buchheit, the technician, arrived promptly and assessed the problem. He was very knowledgeable and personable. The whole process took approximately 2 hours. I am very pleased with the service and cost. I would definitely use Reinhold Electric again. I need ceiling fans put in and will be giving them a call. Thank you Jerry and Jason.

Technician arrived on time and got right to work after listening to our situation. He researched the various possiblities and came up with a solution immediately. As the parts were on their way he prepared the necessary areas for repair and as soon as the parts arrived he had the dryer up and running within a short amount of time. I called to schedule service about 1.5 weeks before I needed it. I setup the appointment. About 20 minutes later, I called back to change the day to one week later, due to a conflict. They said no problem. On the date of the original appointment, I got a call saying that they were on there way. I said, no, I rescheduled. They said OK and didn't come. On the morning of the actual appointment, I called to confirm, due to the initial confusion. The scheduler replied that the tickets (apparently paper tickets) had gone out, so she didn't know if I was on or not, but she was pretty sure I was. Apparently they have no way of knowing what is going on once the tickets go out. Fine. In the early afternoon (like 1PM), I get a call from the electrician, who states that he cannot make it due to an 'emergency call.' He asks me if I want to reschedule, I say no thanks and return to angies list to find a different electrician. About 1 hour later, I get a call from the scheduler telling me that the electrician isn't supposed to have called me, he was supposed to have called her instead, and that she can send somebody different out. I say no thanks, I already made another appointment. So, they don't seem to have an electronic system for routing people. If you have to change anything about your appointment, they get confused. They don't seem to have good processes in place to handle when one of their electrician's gets behind. I also wondered whether they are sending out contractors (or have high churn in their employees), because why else wouldn't the electrician have known the process? Anyway, I decided to try a different electrician.
Description of Work: I used Reinholt several times to perform minor electrical work. In the most recent prior appointment, they had removed some obsolete canister lighting in the basement, installed standard light bulb lights, and put them all on a single switch. However, when I recently tried to have them out, there were numerous scheduling problems and confusions, and it became clear to me they aren't very organized.

The service person was on time in the time frame provided when I made the appointment, immediately assessed the problem including the needed changes to the electric panel, added breakers, ran conduit and installed the plug in a couple of hours. Was very neatly done and he took care to follow another conduit that was already along the wall so I didn't have lines running everywhere. Just used my dryer the other day and it worked perfectly.
Description of Work: Had their electrician come out to our new (to us) home and install a plug-in for my dryer as the previous owners had used gas and no electric outlet was available in a dryer size.

Wonderful. We just love Matt. Reinhold has also installed interior lights (half bath, family room) and they are the best. I would recommend them for anything. They explain what needs to be done, if all the wiring is up to code, do exactly what needs to be done, leavings the work area spotless. I trust them and would highly recommend them.

very well,except I forgot 1 little job. allowed me to buy the switch I thought we would be replacing the transformer as it wasn't working but Craig checked out the unit and found the switch was faulty, told me to go online, buy a new one and they would install it. That saved us about $150 and he allowed me to buy the switch myself instead of his company ordering it and charging me more. They also installed an outlet in the brick chimney in the living room for a new TV, and the fan doesn't wobble quite as much now. So in all a very good experience.Well Done Reinhold

It didn't go well. I'm so disgusted. They've scheduled a time with me, they didn't show. When they came to do the service, the guy said that he needed to go get parts so he went to the store. He had a fully stuffed truck. He charged me for the time when he went to the store. He came back after he had spent hours, he said, "The issue was that you had a 100 watt bulb and a 60 watt fixture." So basically, I paid $500.00 to change two bulbs. I was so furious. They wasted my time in the first place and the thing that killed me though was we didn't have 60 watt bulbs in the house so he said, "I will just go to the store and fix them up for you." I was like, "You're not charging me to go to the store again," and then he didn't fix the problem that I called him for. I had two dead fixtures that are 14 feet in the air that I then had to go get a ladder and replace the bulbs myself. I told him to install a fixture in the dining room, which he didn't do. It took him longer than it would have taken me but that's fine and he did do that but the majority of it was time spent that he went to the store and took the can fixture out of the ceiling only to put them back in and he told me that he thinks I had other light bulb. I was trying to work while he was doing all these and I hadn't supervised him very closely and I was like, "You know what, I'm done." And so, I just signed the paperwork and paid him and that was it. It took him about 4 hours to do the whole thing including the trip to the store. I spent time telling him what the problem was upfront so I just assumed they would come with the parts that's why I hired the electrician. They didn't show up on the day and time that they were supposed to in the first place. They called me two hours after they were supposed to be there and said that they will have to come tomorrow. I learned a lot. Now, I'm much more forceful about what it is that I want and how they're going to do the work before they get started so, it was a good learning experience but it was very expensive. He installed the chandelier and that was it.

Our tech was dispatched to the customer’s home in September of 2012 to check out flickering restroom lights – the customer thought it could be a short. After reviewing the technicians notes, the technician did more than replace two bulbs. Our tech replaced the switch in the customer’s bathroom, tied all wires together, changed a 100 watt bulb with a 60 watt bulb, replaced a light with a chandelier, fixed an outside light in front yard and placed wire in the junction box in the attic. According to the customer’s invoice, our technician spent 5.5 hours at the customers house doing electrical work.

We have not been billed yet, so I am not exactly sure what the cost is going to be. They were actually here a little earlier than the time frame that they gave us. The guy did an outstanding work, and he cleaned up after himself. He explained everything that happened, and everything that was going to take place. He gave us some recommendations on what we should do. We actually had some more work done by them.

No one ever called. Waited around the house all day for someone to contact me. At 6 PM called again a nd was told that the "on call" person would get in touch with me. Waited until 7 PM with still no response. Called again and found out that I was talking to an answering service. Told her to forget this request and to be sure and let Reinhold that I would never attempt to use their services again.
Description of Work: Nothing. Called at 11 AM to get some same day service ...agreeing to pay the time and a half rate. Person said I would be called later in the afternoon.

The customer called in to Reinhold Electric after 11 a.m. to place a service call. A customer representative informed the customer that it would be no problem to dispatch an electrician in the afternoon, however, since the service call was placed late morning, it could run into overtime. The customer said that he did not want to pay overtime. He asked for a service ticket to be made but that he would try to find someone else who would be able to come out immediately so he wouldn’t have to pay overtime. An electrician became available to take the service call, however, it was during overtime hours so it was not dispatched. Several attempts were made by Reinhold Electric to contact the customer to reschedule, however, the customer declined.
Description of Work: Installed 3 bathroom exhaust fans and 2 overhead light fixtures. Also installed outdoor motion detector light on garage.

They were fantastic. I called them on a Sunday and the owner actually answered the phone, which I was pleasantly surprised about. He said they would be able to send out someone to go through the house and to see what work needed to be done. From the beginning they were very professional and a pleasure to work with. A very stand up company from the owner all the way to the workers who came out to perform the services. They were always available to talk about any concerns or issues that I had and were able to work through everything with me. I was very pleased with how everything turned out and would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: They ran an electical line for a dryer and a water heater. They also updated a lot of the wiring in the rafters. Took down lighting from previous owner and added new lights. They also installed smoke detectors hard wired into the house.

It almost caught fire. He sent his people, and then the owner himself came out. He looked at it and said there was work that had to be done, but before he left he said he had to work on it right now and he wasn't going to charge me because he didn't want me to have a fire. It's one of those companies that went above and beyond. Then he told me that I really needed to have two outlets there. So I went ahead and had extra work done too. Because I liked him so much I had him work on some outside electricity. They were reasonable and very prompt when they came. Even after his men finished the job, he came out and inspected it. Their price was one of the lower ones.

I called to schedule a month ago for two things, a simple couple of switches to be replaced and a bid on a new box. I was encouraged to do the bid on the box first, to see if I might do it all at once. I reluctantly agreed (because I have no lights in the kitchen) and about a week later, Kris came by to give me a bid. He was apparently a sub for the guy that was supposed to come, but seemed nice enough. He promised a bid by the next day and it came via email as he'd suggested. Although not for the switches, just the box. He said they should be fixed with a service call. I called then this week to schedule for the service on a day I could take off of work. I asked for the afternoon and scheduled the call. At 2:30 on Friday afternoon, the dispatcher called to tell me that they wouldn't be coming today and that she would like to reschedule for Monday. I can't take off work day after day to accommodate their schedule. My time is just as important as theirs. It seems that they've forgotten what a "service" industry is. I don't know if I can trust them to reschedule and take another day off. Not to mention whether or not they're reliable enough to do the much bigger job they bid. Updated -- Kris responded to my email about my disappointment in the scheduling and someone was here in 20 minutes. The electrician was fast, courteous, knowledgable and efficient. My only regret is that I had to twist their arm to come on the day scheduled. Had they done that in the first place, they would have certainly earned an A.

Our power went out in the middle of the night and we called Ameren UE. They responded and restored our power but told us we would have our meter base replaced. We had to wait a couple weeks for Ameren UE schedule to open up. We got several bids for the work but it was Jerry Reinhold that recommended we contact our insurance company, The homeowner's insurance covered our repair (minus the deductible) Thanks to Jerry that was our only out of pocket expense which saved us over $1000. Once the appointment was make Dustin showed up at 7am and worked non-stop until 3pm. He kept us informed as to how long we would be without power (less than 6 hours) and coordinated with the Ameren UE crew. Jerry threw in an additional GFI outlet at no charge. Dustin cleaned up everything and took away the old meter base and service panel. What a good worker! The next day Jerry called to ask if I was satisfied and I thanked him again and told him what a good job that Dustin had done. Next month we will have them back to install new exhaust fans and GFI outlets in our bathrooms. This is the only electrical company I will use in the future. Customer service, promptness and attention to detail are the way Jerry and his company work.

From start to finish Lon was responsive not only to the primary purpose of the call (dimmer switch) but also to other concerns we had at the time. We arranged a follow-up to have a new outlet installed.
