TruGreen Lawn Care -

It was a big one. The costs vary every time. They come out monthly for 9 months a year. They do good work. They have great customer service. My yard was looking great. The only yard we have was on a steep hill and on clay. We always had to cut the grass and they had a pretty good hold on it after using them for a year. They guys were always nice. We always get an automated call that comes up telling me that they would be out in the next two days. They were pretty good in calling me and contacting me about my concerns.

They come to do the work and leave the paper work. A person always calls ahead to let me know they are coming.

Just got of the phone with customer service regarding a past due notice. I had spoken with them one month earlier regarding the original invoice and was told it was submitted in error and it would be removed from our account. Now they say this service was included in our annual agreement. I asked who authorized the additional service and was told it was a carry over from an authorization in 2011.

I recommend them. They are courteous of our property, make sure the gate is shut when they leave and always leave a note saying what they did. I continue to use them because we have used them in the past.

I started with a beautiful lawn. It began to be taken over with weeds, and they were not able to treat it properly.

They call before they come and the yard is getting better. I had a problem with fungus. They were slow to react and it hurt the lawn. With everything else they have been excellent. I pay by the year and receive a small discount. I use them on two different houses. They are personable and, except for the treatment of the fungus, have been responsive. This is my second year with them. I intend to continue to use their services.

They showed up when they said they would, the one plus we found with this company. We have even MORE weeds than we did last year. We have sent a note to the company explaining our disappointment with their service and cancelled any and all future treatments. The manager called us and said he would send someone out to determine what the issues where.... that was over 2 weeks ago and have not seen anyone nor heard anything from them. Use at your own risk.

This is not rocket science. You spread stuff on lawns. Despite this, my lawn has never looked so bad. When you call they take forever to come out. The last straw was when they said they would be coming out, and then a week later I called again and they again said they would be coming out. 5 minutes later I got a call back saying I was put on a service hold because of an unpaid bill. I stated that I had sent in payment for every bill I had received. They later called back stating they would be coming out, but by that time I was very aggravated and cancelled the service. I've given them enough chances, and now I've had it with them. This type of company is the reason I joined Angie's list. Many companies I call here in St. Louis are service companies that have no concern for service. Many times it's like a bunch of immature, ill-mannered kids running the place.

They did not know exactly what was wrong. They reffered MS Lawncare and tI had to call 3 times before they came out. They said they would come back, but I have yet to hear from them even though I've called them numerous times.

They killed my yard last year when they were trying to kill some weeds, which is why I am still using them this year. They are making up for killing my lawn last year. They’ve done a pretty good job this year and my yard looks good. They sprayed 3 times for the weeds on my yard last year to try and get rid of them. I think they sprayed too many times. I am going to continue to use them because I can’t find anybody who is any better. We have a schedule that we have set in the beginning of the year to do the required thing like putting fertilizer and other things. They just call and let me know that they are coming and they are pretty good about it. They charge by the visit and it depends on what they are doing.

They only started last fall. My yard was a complete disaster before they started, and now I have some grass, although I’m getting some weeds, too. My yard is a work in progress.

He was more interested in getting to his high pressure sales pitch (all your neighbors are doing it, can cut you a great deal today only, etc, etc). I told I appreciated his coming by but I would need to do research on the service, chemicals used, etc before I could commit. Todd become even more rude and pushy bordering on insulting my intelligence for wanting to do due dilligence in researching the service he was offerring. It seems TruGreen is more about sales than it is about customer service or treating potential customers with respect. In the end, I did my homework and found with a lawn my small I could gather what I needed at the local hardware store and do it myself for a fraction of the cost.

So far they have done 2 applications that has greened up my lawn and is killing the overgrowth of weeds that started last year and was not handled properly.

Scotts comes about 4 to 5 times a year and treats the lawn. They call ahead to let me know when they are coming and always mark the lawn so I know they have beeen here.

I spent around $600 on that work. The summer burnt the lawn and I asked them to stop fertilizing the lawn at that time. They should have considered the weather when they were doing it. They listen to me and also said that they would deduct the money and take that into consideration. I don’t know when they are coming and I hear the door bell when they get here.

They are great. We've used them for 8-9 years. When they come, they'll knock if we might want to talk to them. They provide four applications a year, putting signs in the yard to let us know they've been there. They slide the treatment form under the door, with upkeep recommendations on the summary. They're reasonable as far as price.

The work went fine. They come and do the work. When you have any questions, you call and they tell you what to do. They give you follow up instructions like, whether to water the grass and not. They are very informative and approachable. I would use them in the future.

They are pretty reliable. They come when they say they will and they provide the service when they say they will. They make recommendations about things that they think we might need. Their price is pretty fair too.

always prompt and professional. When have any concerns they immediately respond. Very happy with service.

It?s hard to judge because this has been a bad year for lawns in our area, but I am going to switch to someone else next year.

I prepaid and got a 5% discount. We paid for enough treatments to finish the season. We continue to use them because I've seen results and my neighbors also use them. I'm using them to aerate because a couple of years ago I used another company and they broke 7 sprinkler heads after I had them marked. Their price was $20 cheaper than the other company for the same job. I've been happy so far, I'm a new customer and haven't had any reason to call them. I think their prices are in line with everyone else.

I pay them for the year and they come 5 or 6 times. I pay them in November or December in advance for the year. I get a discount since I am old and since I pay early. They come whenever they think you need it. I don't have any real dealings with them. They are nice men. I like the people that work for Scotts. I recommend them to everyone and so does the man who cuts my grass. They do great service. Originally I thought they were college students just working for the summer. It turns out that they are not. They are employed by Scotts. If I ask them a question about anything related to the lawn, they know. They aren't just there putting down the fertilizer. They know what it is and they know what to do. They always ring the door bell and tell me to keep the dogs in for a couple of hours until it dries if they put down a weed killer or something. They always write a personal note on their bill as to what they did. I think that is good. I don't have any financial comparisons. I don't know how much stuff to put down, I don't have a spreader. I might put it down at the wrong time of the year. This year the yard looks terrible. It got a fungus from the heat and the humidity. When I called and said something about it to him, he said everybody was complaining. It was the fourth hottest summer on record. We had 23 days of over 90 degrees in July. It was brutal. The humidity was so bad the grass couldn't take it. That is the service that I am willing to pay the money because I like the way the yard looks. I have no way of comparing their prices. I have never had a problem with the personnel or the products. I like the fact that 9 times out of 10, unless it's for weeds or something when they have to spray to kill, it's not liquid. Sometimes if it is liquid and the man cuts the grass, it never gets to the roots. It gets cut right off. I have done it before with another firm and I didn't like that. Their responsiveness was very good. I did call them and they explained the whole thing to me. They are very professional. They look like college students or in their early 20s. They aren't very old but they do know their job. I talked to the guy about what happened to my yard and he told me that I had a bad fungus and the grass was dead. I told him that I was going to have it aerated and reseeded. Other people said that it didn't bother their lawns. I don't know if I overwatered or underwatered, but it looks awful. But I told him that I was going to use him again. I have used him for 30 years and this is the first time it looks bad. I am not going to cancel him.

Used Scotts during 2006-2008 (~$40 treatment every 6 weeks), and the lawn looked fantastic. Stopped using them for 2008-2009 and the lawn fell apart. Literally, it was destroyed (by disease?), and I needed to re-sod huge portions of it. Coincidence? Maybe, but I moved to Seattle and begun Scotts treatments here and the results so far are good. Takes the guesswork out of fertilizing, and they always give good tips on basic lawn care in their written notes on the bill. Sure you could save money and do it yourself, but the price is really not bad.

My lawn is green for the first time and I'm extremely excited about that.
