Short story: Dennis, his measurement guy Dale, and his installer Eddie and the rest of the crew did an amazing job and I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone that is even considering new windows. Long story: Lets start from the beginning. After having in home consultations from both Pella and Anderson and not been thrilled with their presentation or pricing, I called Zen. Disclaimer: I’m a researcher. When I am looking into something costly, I like to become an expert on the all of the offerings via many hours of internet research and discussion with multiple friends in the field. By the time I found Zen, I already knew exactly what kind of ratings, materials, and product I was looking for. The only things I hadn’t decided on yet were purely cosmetic. Not only did I actually reach someone… on a SUNDAY, I was talking to the owner, Dennis. I recognized the name from their website. I learned very quickly that Dennis is the one who answered the phone every time I called! Anyway, I told Dennis that I had 27 windows to replace and that they were all original from 1932 and a couple hours later I had a quote for a lead-safe window removal and installation of 27 new energy efficient windows. After reviewing the different lines of windows, I was still on the fence between the top tier triple pane Lotus and the mid-range Nirvana windows. I was also trying to decide on whether I wanted no grids, half grids, or whole grids. And finally, I couldn’t decide about half screens or whole screens. A couple hours after talking to Dennis that Sunday, he sent me a clear concise quote for the basic job and what each customization would add to my total. Back to my disclaimer… I came up with some very specific questions about the window line… something about how much argon gas was actually pumped in between the panes of the windows and how long it would actually stay in there. I also asked how many low-e coatings there were on each pane. Dennis did not happen to have all of this information on hand, as I was the first person who had asked some of these questions. Nonetheless, he reached out to his friend at the manufacturer and had an answer for me… that same SUNDAY evening. Anyway, on to the measuring. Dennis’s measurement guy, Dale, called after hours to set up an appointment… also after hours the next day to take official measurements for my windows. He made a very easy to understand numbered diagram of all 27 windows I wanted to replace and then proceeded to write out a numbered list with size, style of window, and whether or not it would be frosted (for the bathrooms). After some advice from Dale about look and feel as well as usability… he recommended casement windows for my kitchen because they are harder to reach above my counter tops… I continued to make tweaks to my bid and eventually ended up with about 5 or 6 more adjusted bids before I had the one I was happy with. Every one of those came within hours of me calling or emailing Dennis. He is very responsive! After about 2 weeks, all of my custom windows were in and Dennis called to setup my install. On the first day of the install Eddie and his 2 man team were right on time in the morning and they even moved their truck several times as we tried to figure out the best arrangement for his truck and my tenants to be able to come and go as they pleased. (I live on a very busy street with a very narrow parking lane!) As per lead safety regulations, plastic curtains were used in front of every window to prevent the spread of potential lead dust. They used special poles that neither damaged my ceiling nor the floors. By the end of day 1, all 27 original windows had been removed and all 27 new windows were in, caulked from the inside, and spray foamed on the outside. The floors were vacuumed as each window was coming out and the floor was even Swiffered to pick up any remaining dust. Additionally, one of my bathroom windows did not have a typical Fram and therefore apparently looked bad with the new window. They cut some trim pieces and built a little edge around it before I even saw what they were talking about that looked bad. It now blends right in with its surroundings! I walked around the perimeter of the house with them as they looked for nails and they even let me keep their nail magnet overnight to double and triple check for any stray nails/screws. Day two was purely outside work, capping and caulking the outside to prevent the water and drafts from coming in as well as making it look good. Again, when they were done, they let me go around with the magnet to double check! I have now had my windows in for a month and the house is quieter… did I mention I live on a really busy street?… and cooler with less air conditioner kicking on and less runtime. I am looking forward savings in the summer and winter and of course the continued use of windows that look great and function even better! In conclusion, I ended up with better, more energy efficient windows with a lifetime, TRANSFERRABLE, warranty for several thousand dollars less than the competition. If you are even considering new windows, give Dennis a call. You will not be disappointed!!

I secured bids from 4 vendors and the experience, service, communication, product quality, and sales representative's product knowledge varied greatly with all of them. The experience was extremely easy, no-hassle, affordable, and their product quality was equal to that of a well-known company whose bid was DOUBLE the cost of Zen Windows of STL and less excruciating than the 5-hour in-home sales pitch of another well-known company. Plus, the installation of two bay windows, a garden window, and 10 other windows was completed quickly and with extreme precision by their courteous and clean install crew. Dennis and his crew did a great job. Despite several reschedules due to other work I was having done(my fault), they were always a pleasure to work with. Their crew installed the windows in one day and left the place spotless.

My little house is 65+ years old and still had the original aluminum windows! After getting several estimates (5), I finally settled on Zen and couldn't be happier with my decision. Dennis was so easy to work with and so patient with all of my questions, and even worked up some sample images so I could see what grid patters would look like. And Eddie and the rest of the installation team was so professional and clean! My new windows are beautiful and my house is so quiet! I only wish I had done this sooner. You really can't go wrong with Zen...great price, quality and service!

This company is top notch! We priced several companies and did our research and took our time. From the first interaction with Dennis, I was impressed. He took ample time to talk me through every single question I had (which was a lot!). Once we decided on Zen, the process was so simple. We received our windows in a timely manner and scheduling the install was a breeze. Eddie and his team were EARLY upon arrival for install, professional, and cleaned up after themselves each day. They were extremely customer service focused; answering all the questions I had prior to deciding, and worked with special requests that we had. The quote process was easy and accurate. The installation is flawless and the windows themselves are great. In addition, the pricing was competitive. I did a ton of research prior to deciding and am very happy I ended up going with Zen; I think you get a far superior window for a good price and they are installed by someone that truly cares (Eddie is a true craftsman). The window's themselves offer a lot of great features that seem to be left off comparable windows (reinforced sash, foam filled, etc), they have great efficiency ratings while maintaining more glass viewing area, and seem to be better put together than samples I saw from other companies that quoted the job. Plus the warranty (which I can't imagine needing) is outstanding. We plan on putting on an addition to our kitchen this spring and will definitely have the windows installed by Zen. Thanks again!

Our experience with Zen Windows was exceptional. We did our homework and received bids from 4 window companies. Zen had the best window at the best price with the best customer service and installation. The entire process was easy from our first contact with Dennis to the installation completion. Communication was immediate and excellent at all points through follow-up to ensure we were satisfied. The windows are beautiful -- as close to an Anderson Renewal window as you can get without the outrageous price. The installers were prompt, professional, experienced experts, hardworking and personable -- a rare combination these days. They also replaced very dated windowsills giving our home an entirely updated look and further complementing the windows. The Zen experience and service is exactly as promised by Dennis and the company's web site. We couldn't be happier with our choice!

I found Zen Windows on Angie's List and BBB, and added them to my list of several companies I would get estimates from. I emailed Dennis with a couple of upfront questions I had, and the response time was the best response time I've had from any company I've ever worked with. This amazing responsiveness continued throughout the whole process, and really shows how much they care about your project and your satisfaction not only with the finished product, but the entire experience. The first quote I got was from Zen Windows, because for the other quotes I actually had to schedule a time to have someone come out to my house. I had a quote from Zen Windows within 10 minutes of requesting one. I had a great feeling about the company, and I was hoping that I would get to work with them, but I did my due diligence and received several other quotes. Zen Windows wasn't the cheapest, but they were very reasonably priced, and after researching online, I found that the cheaper quotes I had received were for a lower quality of windows. From my experience up to that point with Dennis and the research I had done, I was extremely confident in my decision to go with Zen Windows. Dale came out to measure my windows, and he pointed out the additional capping (stained glass and glass block windows) I would probably want and suggested I also cover up the window that was closed off from the inside. I was prepared for these extras to add to the total cost of the project, but the cost I was quoted originally is what I ended up paying. This was just one example of how Zen Windows clearly wants to make the experience easy for their customers, and never make them feel like there are hidden costs. About 4 weeks after the order was placed, Dennis called me to tell me my windows were ready, and we set up an installation time for a few days later. After working with Dennis and Dale, I had no concerns with meeting the installers at the beginning of the day and then heading to work and leaving them to do the installation. The heat index was over 100 degrees, and the installers worked all day and even into the evening when it ended up taking longer than expected. Despite being at my house later than planned, they still took the time to clean up to the point where I wouldn't have been able to tell they were there except that it was cleaner than normal. I instantly loved my new windows! They look fantastic both inside and outside. And right away I could tell how much quieter it was in my house. I live near an interstate, so I'm used to hearing traffic now and then. I couldn't hear a thing! I hadn't realized how noisy it was inside my house until I got the new windows and could tell such a difference. I can also tell that my air conditioner is having an easier time keeping the house cool in the recent heat.

My wife and I own a home in Missouri that had 30 year old windows. They no longer opened easily and replacement parts were hard to find. In the spring of 2016 we decided to replace all 18 double hung windows. The choice of windows to purchase came down to price, quality, and color. We looked at several brands and found they did not offer many colors for vinyl and wood is not only expensive but we would have to be stain them. The windows being replaced are cherry (dark wood color). While searching the internet and reading reviews we came across Zen Windows of St Louis. I contacted Dennis Riley and was quickly provided a quote via email. The price was the best of the windows considered thus far so I asked how I could see the windows. A representative came to our home with sample windows and measured our existing windows. The color was perfect and the windows are very easy to open and close. They tilt in for easy cleaning and there is a half screen which does not obstruct your view when looking out the upper half of the window. Our windows have two locks and vent latches. There is argon gas between the panes and the windows come with a lifetime guarantee. Two installers did the installation and completed all the work on the inside of the house on the first day. On the second day they completed the outside. They covered all the floors and cleaned up on the inside and outside. They were polite and the installation came out beautiful. My wife and I immediately noticed the new windows block sound from outside and our home is quieter. Doing business with Dennis and his team was a wonderful experience and the windows are quality products that are reasonably priced. If you are in the market for windows give them a chance to earn your business.

Fantastic. My dealings with both the owner and the installer were 100% prompt, helpful, courteous and accurate. They replaced half of the windows in my house, and I was so pleased with everything about the experience that I called them back 18 months later to do the other half. I have recommended Zen Windows to multiple people. After an amazingly bad experience with a different company's window salesman, reading about Zen Windows' promise of pressure- and hassle-free sales, along with their good service reviews, prompted me to give them a call. Everything about this was great. The windows are good too, and having had the first batch for almost 2 years now, they're still as good as new. The first half of the house was replacing aluminum windows set in masonry, which appeared to be quite a hassle to remove, but they hauled away all the debris and didn't leave a mess behind. On the second visit they were replacing old-fashioned wooden sash windows, which are a breeze by comparison -- one guy did seven windows in about half a day. It's great having modern, well-insulated windows. I was hesitant about vinyl replacement windows because I once owned a house that had older, super cheap ones that were in terrible shape. But the ones I got from Zen seem to be high quality, very well made (I looked them over very carefully and asked a lot of questions), plus they've got a lifetime guarantee. The house is so much less drafty now. I should have done it years earlier. You should do it! Get your old windows replaced! Call these guys to do it!

Everything went smoothly and Kevin cleaned up well as he left. He explained a few things that would keep my window in good order. This is the second window that Zen has replaced for me and my 1970's house has many more to go!

Zen Windows-What You Need to Know Found out we needed full home replacement windows due to faulty, class actionable, builders? grade windows that were failing at an incredible rate. We contacted 5 companies and sat through hours, literally HOURS, of sales presentations from each company, all assuring me that their product was the best, only to Google it after they left, to find out that it?s NFRC ratings were poor to bare minimum for our climate zone. Not to mention trying to decipher how efficient their windows would be based on what their standard model was, and what was considered an ?upgrade?, and how that upgrade would affect price and performance. Came across Zen Windows on Angie?s List, and although I had never heard of them, I couldn?t ignore all the glowing reviews. I e-mailed Dennis, and he responded within 1/2 hour, and told me that no, I did not have to sit through another sales pitch, that pricing windows was not rocket science, and that I could quickly measure the windows myself, e-mail him a file and he could quote me, as long as I was within a few inches, give or take. Seriously-I did not have to let another sales guy into my home!!! I did this, and had a quote back from him, again via e-mail, again, within 1/2 hour. I was also told that I would have a lifetime warranty, including labor, fully transferable to future owners, backed by Soft-lite. I was also told that there was no payment until full completion of the job, and full satisfaction on my part. Seriously-no down payment, no partial payment, nothing. Sounds too good to be true, right? Zen?s windows are manufactured by Soft-lite, which my research told me is an excellent product. Dennis sent me the NFRC ratings for all 3 lines of their product(which I verified online), which all already included the ?upgrades? (Low-e, argon, fiberglass reinforced, foam filled, etc) as standard. Ratings were good-particularly for the triple glazed. I did notice a slight discrepancy in the pricing, and thought, ?Ah-ha?.here comes the bait and switch!?. So I contact Dennis and ask about it, and his response (again within 1/2 hour), was along the lines of ?Oh-I am so sorry! That is totally my error! I want you to know that I am trying to run a business with integrity and I take full responsibility for it. I will absolutely honor that price. Apologies for the mistake.? WHAT?!!! No bait, no switch. We agreed to the contract, again via e-mail, and the first time I even had to see someone was when they sent a man out to measure my windows more precisely so they could place the custom order. Installation was easy-a great crew of three guys. I was at home by myself with my 9 year old son, and I do not love to have strange men in my house during the day, but this crew was FANTASTIC! Fast, efficient, courteous, clean-covered all floors with drop cloths, even asked me if it was clean enough. The install took 2 days, and when they left, my house was in perfect condition. Even the details, like the caulk line around the window frames (which is a pet peeve of mine) were perfectly done. Many, many thanks to Eddie and his crew! After having the windows now for a couple of months (and we did get the triple glazed), I cannot believe what a difference there is! My house stays cooler, my electric bills have dropped and it is so much quieter! Love, love, love these windows! Bottom line-this is a big investment for your home-do your homework but MAKE SURE you contact Zen. You will be responded to promptly, treated respectfully, and will be dealing with a company that actually cares about what they are doing! And you will get a fantastic product with an amazing warranty at a fair price. And true to their promise, not a penny was paid until the job was complete to my satisfaction. You just can?t get better than that.

Don't look anywhere else for windows!!! Zen windows provided SUPERIOR customer service and professionalism. In addition to their amazing ability to work with the customer, they have a great product. I absolutely LOVE how our new windows look in our home. From the very beginning they were a fantastic company to work with. I initially emailed Dennis my inquiry at 11 o'clock at night, and to my surprise he emailed me back within minutes! I had a quote for windows before I went to bed that night. No high pressure sales tactics, but rather a plain simple quote for windows! It was extremely hassle-free!! The price was competitive, and the final product looks much better than all of the sample windows other companies brought to our house. So after I agreed to purchase windows, he sent someone out to measure our windows. The gentleman was extremely professional, and discussed some design options with me. Dennis followed up very shortly after our windows were measured to discuss final design details. Then he ordered our custom windows as requested. Our windows were installed today-just 2 days after being delivered to Zen Windows. The overall turn around time was great! Eddie and his team came out to remove our old windows and install new the ones. His team was extremely friendly and professional. They made their presence very comfortable for us and our children. I can't say enough about the quality of their work!!! Our windows look absolutely fantastic, and my husband said they did a really good job insulating them. Truthfully, as I type this I can't help but notice our living room is the coolest it has ever been on a hot Summer afternoon ( and that's with having the door/windows open for a lot of the day)!! Within 5 minutes of them leaving our house, Dennis the owner called me to follow up on the installation. We didn't have to pay Zen Windows anything until our windows were installed and to our satisfaction. This company actually cares about its customers!! I originally sent an e-mail sending all of my specifications and received a quote within 15-20 minutes (wow that was quick ? and at 9:30 in the evening). I then spoke with Dennis Riley (Owner) several times during the process of figuring out what type of window would be best ? the ?Nirvana? series is what we went with; we chose the ?Lotus? for the patio door - I picked his brains a few additional times but Dennis had an answer to all of my questions. Once I had everything worked out and a contract signed, Dale then set up an appointment with me to come in and measure all the windows and patio door for replacement. He was really pleasant and answered any questions we had. I was then advised that the windows were finished being custom made and ready for installation. On the day of installation, the crew of Ed, Caleb and Ryan were on hand to get the job done. Dennis also showed up to check on everything as well. Before I knew it, everything was done and in - there was absolutely no mess anywhere in our home after all the installations were finished. The crew was extremely well-mannered and polite as well. I would like to personally thank everyone involved in this process; I am beyond impressed with the professionalism and respect that was shown to me. This is probably one of the easiest home improvement jobs that I have ever experienced. I also have to note two other major factors: 1) There was no pressure whatsoever in regards to making a purchase after I got the initial estimate. 2) There was no money requested as a down payment for the windows ? once we were satisfied we took care of the financial end of the transaction. I will definitely recommend Zen Windows of St. Louis LLC to those who may be looking to replace their windows/patio door. They've earned it in my book.

Zen was on the ball from start to finish. They were punctual and easy to work with. Charlie installed the window fast and clearly knew what he was doing. He was polite and courteous and except for the new window being in place you'd never know he was there.
