They were great. They let be known that my house would dry out OK. They had fixed worse. This confidence went a long way when you have standing water on all three stories of your house. The first day(night) they worked until midnight. They did not go home until they were done. They told me the worst of the drying-fans and dehumidifiers would be 5 days and everything would be done in 2 weeks. They were exactly right. I left a key for them and they came and went as they needed and called me when they had questions or comments.
Description of Work: Water restoration after 2nd story bathroom faucett leaked for 2 days. Insurance work.

Everyone that we spoke with was nice, but we just were not comfortable with the quote. All the write-ups we had read in Angie's List gave us the impression that the cost would be around $500. When their quote was over double that amount, we canceled the work. The company did call on Monday to apologize for being so busy and unable to meet our needs.
Description of Work: I called Woodard after my washing machine overflowed for several minutes into my newly finished basement. The incident was discovered at 8 pm the night before Easter. When I contacted Woodard, they took my information and paged the emergency crew. The earliest they could come out was after 12 noon on Easter. When we tried to get an idea of the cost of the service, they told us that it would be 1/2 of our insurance deductible up front, and the other half when the job was done. We didn't feel comfortable with this estimate since they hadn't seen the damage and didn't know how big our deductible was.

+ 0 moreThe company was always prompt, and the follow up with the customer service representative was very thorough. The serviceman cleaning the carpets and furniture pointed out the spots that he could not get out. I was a little disappointed that some of the spots I considered easy did not come out. The fringe did not come clean on the area rugs, and they were not that dirty. I was a little disappointed for the price as the ads lead you to believe that Woodards is so much better than any other carpet cleaning company's, and I didn't see a major difference. I will use them again only with a coupon because they are expensive.
Description of Work: We had Woodards clean the carpeting in our finished basement, and clean a sofa, three chairs, and pick up 8 area rugs for cleaning at their store.

+ -1 moreWoodard is the best! You pay a lot for their services. After using all of the 'deal' companies, I have decided only to use Woodard from now on. They run great specials and will come out and spot clean within six months of cleaning for no additional fee.
Description of Work: Carpet and stairs were cleaned in the whole house and Teflon Protectant applied. They also provided major spot removal.

+ -1 moreEveryone from this company that I have come into contact with has been very professional and knowledgeable in their field. I took a rug in to be cleaned that I was thinking about buying from someone. I was told it was damaged from animal urine and not to have it cleaned or buy it. They could have done the job, taken my money and said nothing.
Description of Work: We used Woodard for more than one type of project. The first time was to clean some antique rugs. They are very well known for this. Later when our upstairs bathroom had a major leak all the way to the basement woodard's restoration side came in and did a wonderful job of drying out our house, spraying w/ and mircobacterial spray to stop any mold and assessing the damage. This was covered by insurance.

+ -1 moreMy husband was shocked they could get someone out on a Saturday to handle the stain. He had resigned himself to replacing the stained carpet. They were polite and knowlegable and very concerned that we were happy with their work asking us if there was anything else they could do. We were very pleased.
Description of Work: My son vomited on my white wall to wall wool rug one Saturday morning and I called Woodard. They told me to put damp towels over the stain and they would be out later that day. They send two men who after about an hour working on it were able to get all of the stain out.

I HAD TWO QUIBBLES; 1) I HAD EMPHASIZED THAT I NEEDED EARLIEST AVAILABLE APPT., AND SETTLED ON THE DATE AS THE FIRST AVAILABLE WITH A FIRST THING APPT. I GOT A VOICE MESSAGE THE DAY BEFORE TELLING ME THEY'D CALL NEXT MORNING TO TELL ME THE TWO HOUR WINDOW THEY'D BE HERE. THEY DID AND ARRIVED AT 9:15, BUT I HAD ARRANGED THE APPT. WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THEY'D BE HERE AT 8. OTHER QUIBBLE WAS THAT I REQUESTED "PLATINUM LEVEL" SERVICE, WHICH ENTAILS MOVING FURNITURE. THEY DID SO, BUT NEGLECTED TO RETURN SEVERAL CHAIRS TO WHERE THEY HAD BEEN. OTHERWISE, VERY SATISFIED.

WHILE THIS CERTAINLY WAS A SOLUTION THAT SHOWS GOOD FAITH, WE WOULD RATHER HAVE HAD OUR FLOORS DONE WELL AND BEEN ABLE TO ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THE FLOORS. EVERY PERSON WHO CAME TO OUR HOUSE NOTICED THE FLOOR FINISH WAS FLAWED AND WERE SHOCKED BY WHAT THEY SAW AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE WORK. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY TO PAY THE FEE AND MORE FOR A QUALITY JOB. TO THIS DAY WE STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS COMPANY WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY REFINISH OUR KITCHEN TILE FLOOR. BUT THEY DID GIVE US A REFUND. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK BUT IN OUR CASE THEY COULD NOT DO THE WORK PROPERLY. I GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR VOLUNTEERING TO REFUND OUR PAYMENT AND DOING SO PROMPTLY.
Description of Work: REFINISH TERRACOTTA TILE KITCHEN FLOOR. WORK ORDER STATED: TERRAGLAZE ACRYLIC POLYMER USED. 1 BASE COAT. 1-2 FINISH COATS. GLOSSY FINISH. WORK PERFORMED NOVEMBER 4, 2004. WE FOUND THE NEWLY APPLIED FINISH WAS CRACKED ALL THROUGH THE TILES. WE CALLED WOODARD AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE CONDITION AND THEY AGREED TO REDO THE WORK AFTER THE HOLIDAYS. THEY RETURNED ON JANUARY 4, 2005 AND REDID THE FLOORS, BUT WE HAD TO CALL THEM AGAIN AFTER WE NOTICED THAT THE FINISH WAS NOT GLOSSY AS WE HAD REQUESTED OR AS THE FINISH HAD BEEN ON THE FIRST TRY ON NOVEMBER 4, 2004. THEY RETURNED AND THE WORKERS REDID THE FLOOR IN A GLOSSY FINISH. WE ASKED IF ANY SPECIAL MAINTENANCE WAS REQUIRED AND WERE TOLD NO & TO JUST WASH WITH WATER AND THAT IT SHOULD LOOK GOOD FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. IN MAY 2005, JUST 4 MONTHS LATER WE FOUND THE FLOOR SHINE HAS BEGUN TO WEAR OFF AND THE FLOOR LOOKED FLAT AND DULL AND STREAKY. WE CONTACTED WOODARD AND THEY APPARENTLY FELT THEY COULD DO NO MORE & REFUNDED OUR MONEY.

AFTER A MUTUAL DECISION BASED ON THE FACT WE WERE NOT 100% SURE THAT THIS WAS THE CORRECT COMPANY TO ELIMINATE THE ODOR, WOODARD DID NOT PERFORM THE SERVICE. WOODARD WAS GREAT ABOUT FOLLOWING UP WITH PHONE CALLS AND ANSWERING QUESTIONS. I WAS A BIT CONCERNED THAT THERE WAS NO FREE ESTIMATE. THERE WAS A CONSULTING FEE OF $250. FOR WOODARD TO COME TO MY HOME AND IF I USED THEIR SERVICE THE FEE WOULD BE DEDUCTED. SINCE I WAS NOT 100 PERCENT SURE I NEEDED THE SERVICE, I WAS NOT WILLING TO RISK THE FEE.
