Welsch Heating & Cooling

It was great. They did a great job. They replaced everything in one day. They have several guys working on it and they got it in and running and it's been working great.

We picked Welch because they had a good BBB and Angie's list rating but also because they had a sticker on the old units and we had seen them at the condo helping other owners. | |The price seemed high but we did not thing exorbitant because they had two install two electric heating units in tight spaces and two exterior air conditioning units on the roof of the three story condo. For this they had to rent a rather large crane. We are happy with the job they did. The heating units seem noisy as our only concern. I do not blame Welsch for this as the old ones were also and we did not tell Welsch that we were concerned about noise. We are considering calling them, however, to see if a slower blower speed on the two heating units for heating mode is possible.

He did a fine job. Bought the service contract and received discount on labor and parts for the repair.

They did a great job. Actually recommended how to do what I wanted in a better way. Showed up on time and completed the job as promised. They broke the bid down by unit and labor and the additional items I wanted.

We had no problems. It was installed properly. They had a lower bid then their competitors.

This business was one of at least 6 that I requested an estimate from. The salesperson was very thorough and explained everything well. I was interested in several different brands and what I liked about this company was that it carried several brands I was interested in (Lennox, American Standard, & Bryant) and I was able to get a variety of quotes with one sales visit to compare to other quotes I had received. I spent several weeks communicating with the salesperson via email, text, and phone with follow-up questions and to request changes in my quote. He was always very prompt in providing information. I eventually settled on a high-end Lennox system and an installation date was scheduled within a few weeks (I was in no hurry). There were three individuals in the installation crew and the installation was completed by mid afternoon. The installation was performed well and required no callbacks to the company to fix anything. I have used the heating and air conditioning for almost a year now and it is much more effective at heating and cooling my home, and is quieter as well. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Another reason I went with this company rather than some others was the length of time they have been in business. A coworker purchased an air conditioning system about 6 years ago with a 10 year extended warranty. The company that installed the system is out of business and another company is supposed to honor the warranty, but the new company claims the original company didn't file the proper paperwork. My coworker is now working through that hassle. After the sale the company promptly completed or provided me all the documentation I needed to receive rebates from the utility companies and sales rebates from Lennox. This company provided good service before, during, and after the sale.

We have been using Welsch to perform our annual furnace and air conditioner check/maintenance since we moved to St. Louis in 1996. We also use them whenever we need repairs. They provide outstanding service and customer support. My equipment is 14 years old, and when it needs to be replaced I will definitely use Welsch to do the job.

I initially picked Welsch because they had the best BBB rating & reviews of the three contractors that, carry the brand I was looking at. When I called the office, I told them I wanted a system with an HFUE of ~96% and a SEER of 18 and what brand I was interested in. When the representative came out to assess my home & current system, he said the office personnel wrote in the notes: "customer speaks your language." We talked for over an hour & a half about my needs and why I wanted the brand I was asking for. He learned I was a capable hands-on DIY type person so, he told me I could not get parts to do my own repairs with the brand I was looking at and made an alternate recommendation which, he said would also cost less because, although they are a certified installer for the brand I wanted, they still have to buy it through a distributer and that drives up the cost. We scheduled a two day install but, because I have a single story with an unfinished basement, they were in and out in ~9hrs on the first day. The workers were friendly and careful with the removal of my old system and the installation of the new one. They laid down protection for my carpeted steps and cleaned up after themselves. Welsch also knew about all the rebates & tax credits available to me and helped with the paperwork. They even let me put the bill on my Discover card, to get the cash back bonus points, and then I paid Discover off directly (seriously, because what's the point of the 1% cash back if you end up paying the interest?). So, after manufacturer & utility rebates, tax credits and cash back points, I got the total cost down to ~$8495.00. The first month's electric bill is in and I saved $100.00 over the same period last year.

The time allowed to do the replacement of the old system's was quickly and professionally done. I was able to do some of the work, because of the time element to run gas line from the basement to the third floor and electric connections for outside units. Being a retire electrician and home owner, who does most of their own work.

I find the people very helpful and professional. They always stand behind their gaurantee and are reliable. We have used them for several years and even had them put in our new unit.

I have been using them for 12 years. On a scale of 1-10, they are about 100. These people came out and did a great job. They are very conscientious and patient. The salesman explained every thing. They did a superlative job.

One man arrived around 7 am as scheduled, another later. Number on box did not match my quote--saleman was called who said Am. Standard changed the number but it was what I had ordered/a 15 Seer a/c. Men installed and last man left after 2 pm. I put things back in place as first man left them out of place. Found an extra black hose unconnected and ascertained that it had belonged with my old humidifier. Second man helped with that question. After he left, I did a final cleaning. Both men were pleasant and worked diligently. No problems except some cuts in my tile floor. I would recommend them. The salemen, Denny was great. He had to change the installation date from Friday until today but that was ok with me as my old a/c was still working.

See the foregoing. In addition, I was able to use an Angie's List coupon for an $85 service call. In all, the service man was at my home for probably an hour, and did more work than the last service man, who charged nearly double that, and didn't really improve the situation at all. I give five stars out of five, and I am not an easy grader.

The repairman made rude comments.

I was not there during the installation. My brother-in-law baby-sat the house. We got a SEER 21 AC and a new thermostat.

This was my fourth check-up/service performed by Welsch. When I purchased a new high-efficancy furnace/AC system from them in June, 2010, (4) inspections/check-ups were part of the purchase package. When they come their man is prompt, careful, clean, and very happy to answer any question. They have never pressuured me for additional services and were happy to show me how to change both the air filter and the humidifyer media. I am very happy with their service and have decided to sign-up for their semi-annual service. However, I was not presed by the service man to buy the plan.

Always polite and professional; good work.

Repair person diagnosed the problem with our air conditioning unit within seconds. They replaced a blown capacitor, checked the freon levels, washed out the radiator on the outside of the unit, and gave us lots of good advice on how to prevent problems in the future. I called at 7pm on a Thursday and they were on site at 7:30am Friday morning. I am very impressed and would highly recommend them.

II called Welsch HVAC on Monday morning after our air conditioner stopped on Saturday. The ladies in the office were very nice and assured me that we would have a service call that day. When the serviceman came he looked our older system over and checked the freon but that was okay. He replaced a part on the compressor. Now enjoying the nice cool air although it has been in the 100's/Service call was $95 and the part was $261 but after 2 1/2 days of no air, I think it was a bargain. Prompt and professional service.

The price includes 2 visits a year. I've had service with them since 1996. They did the original installation.

I made an appointment with Welsch Heating/Cooling about a week ago to make sure they could come at a specific time. My appointment was for May 7 2012 around 3:00 p.m. I took early off work to make sure that I will be here. I called Welsch Heating/Cooling at 3:30 to see if they were running a little slow. I was informed that they were in fact running a little behind and I will get a call as soon as they are on their way. The office called me around 4:30 and said the service person was on his way. I'm ok with that because we can all get behind once in awhile. So I waited until around 6:00pm to call back to see how much longer it will take. The call center said she would get someone to call me right back. About 10 minutes later I in fact did receive a call (sorry I didn't get a name as to whom I was talking with) but the person on the other end only said he didn't know what had happen and someone should have been there. Needless to say if this is the type of service I will be receiving from this company in this type of St. Louis weather this summer I don't need the stress. Any good company will a potential customer to keep them informed. I found another company on Angie's List and I am hoping I will get the type of service that I am accustomed to when I have to pay out the big bucks.

We have used Welsch to maintain our furnace for over 21 years. We recently moved to a new house and was pleased that Welsch installed the furnace. We had them install a humidifier on the furnace and we will continue to use them to maintain the unit. The service tech was professional, friendly and explained the usage and settings for the humidifier. I recommend Welsch highly.

We got a brand new system that was a state of the art system. Not many people had this type of system yet. They helped us work out the issues with the system, would come out when ever needed and even had a manufacturer come out to help with kinks. They went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied.

I contacted two companies., and Welsch was able to schedule first. I felt that the price was reasonable. They were prompt, professional, and pleasant. They answered all of my questions, and did not push unnecessary purchases on us. We did not sign an agreement with them, but we will use them again in the Spring. I feel that they are a great company to work with and they put us at ease.

I've used Welch 2x per year for many years on a service contract to maintain my A/C and Furnace. On Saturday July 2nd, we came home in the evening at immediately noticed the house was extremely hot. Mid 80's on the main floor at this point. I immediately contacted Welch for a emergency service. The person i spoke with at their answering service told me they can not get anyone out to our house until the next morning and i should "take it up" with the service technician on why i couldn't get anyone to come out that night. The next morning they did show up, as promised. Only to inform me that our A/C compressor was broken and we will need a brand new unit. I asked when i could talk to someone about pricing and installation...it was now 89 degrees on the main floor. He informed me that the office was closed for the holiday weekend and someone would call me on Tuesday. That's 2 days from now! Oh well...best we can do! I found a reputable HVAC company on Angie's List (see my other posts) and got a new unit and furnace installed that same day! Someone from Welsh did make one attempt to contact us on Tuesday afternoon. Way too little way too late!
