Now it looks like a new shower. The Tub Company did a good job and were very responsive to my calls and questions. They were able to do the job with a week's notice.
Description of Work: We had a 21 year old fiberglass shower surround that had faded horribly and was stained.

Do ask the complete details, including how the surrounding surfaces will be protected.
Description of Work: The Tub Company prepared two bathtubs for application of their coating process. One tub had been previously done, but the surface had been chipped away in several small places. (We've lived in this house for 14 years and the tub had been redone sometime prior to our moving here.) Removal of the previous finish was a special process that required more work and cost an additional $85. One tub was done one week and the other was done the following week. The worker arrived on time around 8 a.m. and was cleaned up and gone by about 1:30. The tub needs to be etched with acid for proper adhesion of the new surface and the tub needed time to cure before use. The delay between treatment of both tubs allowed amply for this. The treatment was a bright white latex spray. The tiles in the bathroom are white with small speckles. The tiles above the bathtub were protected up about 20 inches or so above the edge of the tub. The spray vaporizes and rose above this level adhering to the tiles - not in a way that is readily noticeable, but when cleaning the tiles, the spray dispersion is quite apparent. The other thing is that two coats were applied. This all happens quite rapidly and dries quickly. In retrospect, it would be better if the coating application were more dense. I didn't ask about this in advance and it would have been good to have done so. The replacement caulking job on the one tub was quite good and very well done. On the other, open spaces remained which we took care of rather than having to have someone in again for this purpose. These tubs need to be cleaned with a preparation like Scrubbing Bubbles. No abrasives can be used on the treated surfaces. Our bathrooms are small. We generally shower. This is an adequate treatment which did not require us to bemove the tubs, and while we need to take the proper care, will likely serve us well going forward. The technicians that performed these tasks were very appropriate and competent.

They did a beautiful job and were pretty much in an out in one day. They came back for an hour or two to finish the second day. I would highly recommend them
Description of Work: The home was built in 1948 and had the typical colored tile with black caps. The tile was in pretty good shape but there were a few cracks and chips that they fixed before spraying. They are seamless. We had the entire bathroom sprayed because just painting the tub and surround was not an option. No place to stop since the tile went completely around the room

It went very well. The technician arrived on time and started working immediately. He was very efficient and finished the job ahead of the estimated time. He then explained proper care for the tub, letting me know not to use abrasives when cleaning the tub. He was very professional, and his work was great. The tub looks like a brand new tub.

I am very happy with the way the tub looks. I had done some pricing for this service and this deal beat the best estimate I got by $127.00. I did have to call the company to send technician back for small flaw. He returned and fixed the problem.

Everything was done very professionally and in a timely manner and very economically by a polite and competent person. Only reason I gave one "B" is because I seem to slightly detect the gray primer coat under one area, and am thinking that an additional finish layer might have covered this up. However I never asked how many finish layers they use, so got exactly what I was entitle to. And.....I could be wrong about connecting the slightly grayish band with the number of layers. Just my perception -- a third party would perhaps not notice this at all.

It was horrible from the start, ever since I bought this big deal after Jeff had quoted me $350.00 and I purchased it for $223.00 on Angies List, it was down hill from there, it was rush, rush to do it, I asked questions about any chemicals being used and they had a fit. I told Jeff that I had a child with severe asthma and that's why I was asking and he assured me it would be okay. But his technician was an hour late and that threw off my whold day, the time I spent preparing the bathroom, just everything arranging for my son to spend the night with relatives. And he still didn't do the job. I need an instant refund.
Description of Work: I had spoken with Jeff when I first scheduled the job and he originally charged me $350.00 for the job, then I went on Angie's list and bought the big deall for $223.00 and he did not like that, so on 02/20/2013 he called me and stated that his guy was going to be late because he locked his keys in his car over night. The person got here at a little after 9:00a.m. and I was not happy with that time frame. Then I was told the job would take 5 hours, so I called and cancelled everything that I had planed this evening, so that the attendant could do every thing he needed withought being rushed. The attendant goes outside and telll Jeff that I was not happy with the time frame, so Jeff tells him to leave and do another job because they are only gonna get a bad review, I call Jeff and tell him that I took the day off from work for this service, he's screams at me that I was rude to his person and to call angies list and get my money refunded. I have lost a days pay and nothing has been accomplished, but the real reason is that I bought the Big Deal, instead of paying the $350.00 for the job that he first quoted me on the phone, I emailed you guys and asked would it be okay to just buy the big deal that he didn't offer me in the first place and you guys said yes. So now here I am with no work being done and needing a refund for jcoupon code Bath tub 5709570918-1.

Called The Tub Company after reading many positive reviews on Angie's List. We were in need of having our tub reglazed and to have some repairs done on some of the surrounding tiles. Upon calling, I immediately spoke with the manager/owner who quoted me a price that fell right in line with my final charge. Service was set up at my convenience (within the week of my call). The craftsman, Eli, arrived on time as scheduled. He walked me through the process, reiterated the cost and got to work. Eli was extremely professional and courteous and worked diligently on our project for over 7 hours. Once he was finished, the tub and surrounding tiles looked better than the ever and the bathroom was cleaner than when he arrived. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would certainly use them again in the future.

The complete store is stated above.
Description of Work: Jason and Joe arrived very promptly and we discussed the work to be dome. Jason suggested to restore rather than to reglaze the tub. We had them remove a set of sliding glass doors, now we are using a shower curtain again.. The guys did all the prep and restored the tub to like new condition. We have lived in our home for almost 34 years and the tub finish never has looked very good. In fact, I had used some blue cleanser to clean it and the dye left a blue waterfall stain. The job turned out very nice. They re-grouted the tile around the tub and resealed the corners and edges with silicone calking. We let the work dry for several days, and upon inspection, we found just a couple of places that they had missed in the re-grouting process; I called Jeff, the company owner, and he set up a time a week later for the guys to come back to retouch their work. We are quite happy with the work performed. Thank you Jeff, Jason and Joe for making our tub beautiful again in our time in the house.

Great communications from the beginning. They went out of their way to communicated with me. Arranged a date for them to go to the empty house and complete the work. They met me at the house and gave me an update and options for what I wanted done via the phone. They were professional and courteous. Work was completed in about 4 or 5 hours. Nice job caulking the tube after work complete. Tub looks great. Nice job. Would highly recommend.

When I signed up for the big deal, the company called immediately and told me that the scheduler would call the next day. I didn't hear back for over a week so I called them and arranged a day and time. I specifically asked for a new drain cover even if it was an extra charge. The person didn't know if the drain cover was included in the price or not and didn't know the cost but he said he'd let me know. The person from the company was on time and was very careful setting everything up to protect my floors, walls, etc. He was very polite and answered all my questions. My problem is the results. The surface of the tub is bumpy, not as bad as sand paper but it is not smooth to the touch. It has a lot of crap stuck to the surface like the applicator or paint had bits of crap it it. This of course is permanent. (My original tub was in almost perfect condition and as smooth as you would expect porcelain to be, it was just harvest gold which is why I was having it re-colored white.) When the tile around the tub was masked off the rounded edges where the tub and tile meet were not covered just taped off in a square so now both corners of the tile where the tile meets the rounded tub edge have paint sprayed on the tile. Also the recaulking around the tub is done poorly. They said they would recaulk because the original caulk would be removed but I would have preferred to do it myself if I had known they would do such a bad job. Overall the results are really sloppy and it really bugs me that that wasn't done correctly. And to top it off, the guy did not have a drain cover and didn't know the charge for it so I canceled the request.

It went very well. Both men that were there were personable, friendly and professional. One thing that I didn't know is that the bathtub was already reglazed. Because of that, they charged me $75 more. I didn't have the money then, so I wrote them a check and mailed it. Regardless, it was worth the price.
Description of Work: They were to resurface my bathtub. But, after they got there, they said that it didn't need resurfacing, but needed to be restored. Once they got the previous glaze off, and restored it, it was absolutely beautiful!

I called The Tub Co., left a message and received a call within a few hours. They gave me the price on the phone for the tub and the tile...a flat rate for the tub and a per square foot price for the tile. They arranged the job for 4 days later. The men arrived on time in the morning, began work, and were finished before 5 pm. They vented the odors well and kept dust to a minimum. They were professional, pleasant, and polite. I paid that day and have been very pleased. I have recommended them to friends.
Description of Work: We had The Tub Co. refinish our 75 yr. old bath tub, which had been refinished at least once. We replaced the tile tub surround with onyx, but had them paint the remaining ceramic tile on all other bathroom walls. We are extremely pleased with the results for both the tub and the tile! We have now used the tub for a month and love the "brand new" look!

The company was very responsive. They told me the cost and immediately set a date for the work to be completed. Eli arrive at 8:30 am as agreed and worked for approximately 6 hours scaping and cleaning the tub. He found a perfect ceramic finish on my old steel tub under all the paint and dirt. He said it was better to complete the cleaning and reglaze the ceramic tub vs. putting a finish on top ... which is what he did. He cleaned the paint off the soap dish and toilet roll holder too. The tub looked brand new when fishished. What a great surprise!
Description of Work: My rental house bathtub in an older house was very dirty. It had been painted by prior owner before selling. It looked awful. The ceramic soap dish and toilet roll holder had both been painted and were peeling badly. I contracted to have the tub resurfaced.

I bought my house five years ago, partly because I loved the original ceramic tile and the arched ceiling over the tub in the bathroom. Unfortunately, when the house was built (1939), builders used a different kind of grout that included Portland cement. The grouting was missing in places and the previous owner had applied new grouting over old mildew so that the bath looked dirty and was impossible to clean. He had also put plastic grouting strips around the edge of the tub, and the tub desperately needed refinishing. Three earlier attempts to find someone who could remove the old grout failed when no one was willing to even attempt it. I was afraid I was going to have to spend thousands to redo the entire bathroom, but then I found the Tub Company on Angie's List and gave them a call to schedule an appointment. The owner assured me that he did these kinds of jobs all the time but I was prepared for disappointment when he saw what it looked like. To my thrilled surprise, the technician (Eli) arrived on time and did a BEAUTIFUL job! It looks like a new bathroom (at least in the tub enclosure; I didn't do the entire bathroom) and I couldn't be happier. To make it even better, the cost was less than I had expected. If you have an old house and you want to save your tile, call these guys ? they deliver!

The installer arrived when scheduled and completed the process in about 5 hours.Checked several places on the Internet & found the Tub Company to be the least expensive & their work looked good from the pictures on their website. The cost is based on the type of existing tub that you have. Prices start at about $800 for ceramic tubs to about $900 for steel tubs. The cost is the same for the installation and the reversal. It's still a lot less expensive than tearing out the current tub & getting a new walk-in shower because that involves tearing out the wall covering as well as the tub.The section was first cut. This process was a bit noisy. Was given the cut out section to save. It doesn't take up much storage space and is not a heavy piece. When the glaze was applied I got a little light-headed, but it was tolerable. Had to ventilate the house during this part of the process.Am very pleased with the finished product. Have gotten very positive comments from friends & family. The installation is seamless (You cannot tell where the cut-out section is).The installer said they could also install a fold-down seat in the tub. I decided not to get it at this time. They said it could be installed at any time. Don't know the cost for the seat. The installer gave advice on getting multiple shower heads where one could be placed at a lower level. However they do not sell them. They don't appear to carry many accessories, however they do have bathmats & can put a non-skid surface on the tub.Overall: Very Satisfied.BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE "TUB COMPANY" WEBSITE. They can work with any size or type of tub. .
Description of Work: Got a Tub Cut. This a good for a an elderly person who has arthritis. This process turns an existing tub into a walk-in shower by removing an 18 to 24 inch section of the long side of the tub.A ceramic glaze is applied to the cut out section to complete the look.It takes less than a day to complete with a 24hr curing period before use.The process can be reversed at a later date. The cut out section is given to you to save in case you want to have it changed back to a regular tub. There is a a separate charge for the initial cut and the reversal.

They did an outstanding job, based on what we can see so far. This service was performed back in 2006 (before we owned our house), and the paint started peeling within 6 months after having the work done. It was very apparent that these guys know what they are doing, they are very professional and clearly have the experience to back up their work. On top of everything else, there is a lifetime warranty on their work, for as long as we own our home. If any of the paint begins to peel or bubble, they will come back out and fix it for a minor deductible. I would definitely recommend these guys for any tub and tile refinishing.
Description of Work: Our bathroom tile and tub was painted back in 2006, and the previous company did not prep the surface and it started peeling within 6 months. The Tub Company came in and stripped all of the existing paint from the walls and tub (by hand), then stripped any finish from the existing tile, they filled any cracks in the tile, or missing mortar between joints. They came back on day two to finish stripping and prep, then taped off everything, and painted the tub and tile. On top of being in a very small bathroom, one of the circuits blew and they had to finish painting with a lamp instead of the overhead light! They came back on the morning of day 3 and pulled up all of the areas they taped off, and caulked all the joints and seams. Told us to stay off for a week.

The estimator took his time to do the job right and gave a very detailed explanation. The price was much better than I expected. I bought the bath faucet kit that I wanted them to install. The installation took only one day; I left the installer in my house and I went to work. This company does a lot of large scale projects, like apartment buildings and hotels; thus, they don't deal with individual home owners as much, so sometimes communication good have been better. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied with the end result.
