The man cleaned the sunroom windows inside and out and cleaned the large blinds electronically. The windows have not been that clean since new and the blinds are beautiful - took out to the truck and brought back dry and hung them perfectly.

They have cleaned my entire house twice now, and I was extremely pleased both times. I have had several bad experiences with cleaning services but decided to try this company because of their reviews online. The owner came out the day after I called and gave me a detailed estimate. I think it is important to explain what you want and what is important to you. They seem to sincerely want the customer to be satisfied (unlike some other companies out there). I had two different teams of two during my two cleans, but they worked hard and stayed until the job was done. Could I walk through and nit-pick certain things? Sure. But that will always be the case, if one is honest. I am pretty particular, but at the end of the day, I just want to feel like I got what I paid for. I certainly have felt that way so far with The Cleaning Authority. Overall, they did a good, thorough job, and my fingers are crossed that the quality will continue. I would definitely recommend them.

Thank you for the honest and considerate review. The northern 2/3 (Belleville and everything north to Edwardsville) of the Metro East is served out of our somewhat new (1.5 years) Troy, IL office. Our turnover rate in Troy is much higher than our main office in South County. Reducing turnover at the Troy office is my (Mike the owner) number one concern in the business. I have faith that recent steps put into place will improve our turnover issue considerably. Thanks for being patient with us and I am glad that the quality we promised has not faltered!

I have been using their services for about three years. The work has been excellent! I have team five, La’tresa and Stacey, and I do like them. The other teams were fine as well, but I do like this one even better. They are always on time and don’t cancel unless you do so. They are very professional and use green products. I have been very happy with them.

I am very happy with their work. I have been using them for several years now. Their workers are very thorough. Each time they come, they will clean the whole house, but they will rotate and concentrate on deep cleaning of certain areas. They are bonded and they have never broken anything. If I ever need to contact someone, I contact Jo in the office. They are very flexible and are accommodating to any rescheduling I may need. They try to fit in with whatever my schedule is and offer several options. I am very pleased with their work.

The work has turned out very good. They send two women in and they spend a couple hours working on the place. The quality is good and they clean all the nooks and cranny's. Before they even started, the owner and operator came by to look the place over. He wrote down notes, gave me an estimate, and worked out a rotating system of what they will do on each visit. There was one time I forgot to leave a key and they were very good about that. They are easy to work with and flexible. I am very pleased with their work. They are very professional, detailed, and even send out a newsletter once a month. They are also very trustworthy and I never worry about things disappearing.

The franchise owner met with us for an estimate and was very helpful in choosing the most cost effective bi-weekly plan. With his suggestion he set up separate pricing plans for each area not requiring bi-weekly cleaning. Example: Finished downstairs kitchen, living room and lightly used bed and bath can be added at our request for a predetermined amount. We thought this was a great idea. Our cleaning crew is #13 and they do a fabulous job. We feel that for the cost of the service and the time and effort spent cleaning is a very good value. Each time we come home we are always please to find that our expectations were exceeded. We really appreciate how personable our team is and the interest they take in our home. We feel very comfortable leaving them with our home and trust is not an issue.

It was great. Everything looks very good so I have no complaints. They vacuumed the sofas which was nice because I have a load of dog hair up on my sofas. One of the things they didn't do though was to flip the cushions of the sofas and vacuum underneath the cushions.

Awful. It was supposed to take them 3 and half hours, team of 2. After an hour and a half they had only finished the half story. Another team of 2 was sent in after we called. We were at least told we wouldn't have to pay additional money beyond the estimate but they did a terrible job. They didn't touch the ceiling fans or microwave as it said they would in the estimate and on their page ("Every Clean"). They didn't dust or clean the fireplace hearth or mantel (center of the main room), didn't clean the countertop behind the sink, didn't dust bureau in master bedroom, didn't clean around sink in master bath, didn't remove marks from walls. I work 12 hour days so I was really counting on them to take care of one big thing from my to-do list with the housecleaning so I could focus on cooking and decorating and I ended up having to spend hours cleaning after spending 300 with them.

A common quote: "Judge a business not on whether they ever make a mistake, but in how they resolve it." In this case, we were unaware of the customer's issue until she posted this review. It was probably because we cleaned late Friday and she had an event at her home on Saturday, so she figured no relief was possible. Her one-time Friday clean was estimated by our office manager to take 7 labor hours (3.5 hours for 2 cleaners). After 9 years in business and performing thousands of first-time cleans, I can say that estimating the time requirements of a first time clean is, at best, "educated guessing." We always set a maximum price so that customers are not on the hook for cleaning time over our estimate. We absorb all labor costs beyond the estimated time, as that seems to be the only fair way to do business. Here is what happened in (deleted member name) case: We started the job at 2:15PM on a Friday (as promised) with 2 cleaners. The cleaners called the office during the clean and advised this job was a lot harder (dirtier) than estimated and that they would need help getting finished. At 5:00 a second team of cleaners arrived after their own schedule was completed. All 4 workers worked until 6:19PM. The cleaners came back to the office and said (deleted member name)p had essentially kicked them out because it got so late, that some girls didn't get completely finished, and that no one got a chance to double-check their work (standard on a clean like this). One cleaner summarized (deleted member name) comments by saying "the customer said our manager was an idiot for underbidding the job so much." The job ended up at 10.67 labor hours, she paid $262.50 for the 7 labor hours, and we absorbed what would have been the final $137 of the bill. Had the customer let us know she was unhappy, we would have found a volunteer to go to her house Saturday morning and take care of all concerns (except for cleaning the walls, which is not part of our cleaning checklist unless they are tile walls). (deleted member name) said she spent hours recleaning, but given the list of problems she had, one cleaner could have probably taken care of everything in 30-60 minutes. It is tough, as a business owner, to see our 50+ review "A" grade dropped to a "B" overall due to one unhappy customer that paid about 2/3 of regular price (due to the extra time we gave her) and did not give us a chance to fix the problem.

I pay $133 every two weeks to have my whole house cleaned. My home is 3500 square feet, so I feel this is a very reasonable price. The ladies are punctual, friendly and courteous. Thank you for doing such a good job!

I secured this company's name through Angie's List. With that being noted, I called this company and discussed briefly. Jo, a very professional individual, came to my home. She is personable, without being too familiar. She is quick and thorough in her analysis and heeds the concerns or comments by me. Mindy, in the office, is super. She is my main contact to discuss. She is someone who, to me, is upbeat with sincerity, kind of a person who I feel I may have known for a while; very personable and understanding. She is an asset, for sure. Shannon, who comes to my home, (3 x I believe) is excellent. She is a combination of Jo and Mindy with hard work being done in a timely fashion. Tammy, Shannon's "partner", was at my home today for the first time cleaning. I find she & Shannon make a good team. Please know, considering my home has been remodeled, I am very touchy about carelessness; disregard for breakage, etc. All I ask is to know if something broke or there are any issues. I have not, to my knowledge, experienced anything broken whatsoever. My home is very tidy but needs "cleaning" as all do. This company, to date, has been able to provide service on the days set, as well as honored my needs of changes I made in advance with advance notice. In closing I will indicate I have not had the "same gals" since the beginning of their service. I believe this profession yields a lot of "surprise hard work" for employees, who may walk into situations that are far more involved than anticipated by management, only to have to "move on" to the next house. I have had the "feeling" with a couple of different workers that it was "get in/get out" as this type of work was not their 'cup of tea", so to speak but there was always someone as their partner who offset that "feeling". Shannon, to date, has always presented herself as if my house was her first house of the day to clean, and I know that is far from reality. I am an afternoon clean. She is very understanding and so VERY kind about my elderly dog's needs when "strangers" are in the home. I want to give credit where credit is due. I, based on my experiences, would recommend this company. I will indicate I am always at home; never have I not been home when the workers were here. I am "flexible" on arrival times. If a time is past, I'll just call and discuss with Mindy to make sure no issues. As I previously noted, a prior home or homes may have put the team behind or, as well, earlier than expected. Summary: The Cleaning Authority has made difficult times for me a breeze knowing I can enjoy my clean home, and I'm grateful.
Description of Work: Clean my home. There is a rotation clean if you use them more than once in a month. It is a good set up on procedure. I have used this company since Feb. 2013. It is a fair price considering the marketplace.

I contacted the Cleaning Authority to clean my basement floors after one of the exerior walls had been repaired. There was dust everywhere but I only wanted the floor cleaned as there was plastic covering most items in the basement. My representative spoke with the office and a date/time was arranged. The crew was about an hour late and proceeded to inform my rep that they wouldn't do the job, stating they don't do basement walls. They were supposed to clean the floors. Then they also declared their home office wouldn't let them perform the job. Also, it was stated that it would cost me too much. All they had to do was sweep and mop (perhaps using a wet/dry vac) the floors!!! After hearing this from my rep, I called what I thought was the office (a 314 number). I talked to someone, though, who stated he would contact the local office and I would be hearing from them. This person reiterated some of the statements from the cleaning crew. I have yet to hear from the "office" I thought I could trust them. The Cleaning Authority used to do regular cleanings for me and did a good job.
Description of Work: The cleaning crew showed up late with no phone call. They did not perform the services that I had stated I wanted and did not have a satisfactory explanation.

We have our home cleaned every two weeks. We are not normally home when the cleaners come so we are not aware of the exact timeliness; however, they have not missed one appointment and have arrived early on occasion. General cleaning is performed on each visit, and more thorough cleaning on certain parts of the house each visit. We are fairly pleased with the cleaning. Occasionally, something is missed and the office personnel is more than willing to send someone over to perform any missed or incomplete tasks. Although we expected the same team (of two) each week, sometimes different individuals come. This is probably due to vacations, etc . We anticipate continuing with this company.

I contacted the Cleaning Authority (CA) after reading the reviews here on Angie's List and thought I would be in for a great experience. My experience has been good. I got an appointment for an estimate rather quickly and the person who did the estimate (Jo, I believe) was professional and detailed in the services that they provide. I had recently moved to St. Louis and needed a thorough clean of the house. The CA breaks up the "initial clean" in two segments - A and B, and focus on different areas of the house in each. I was not terribly impressed with initial clean A (some cobwebs were not removed and the blinds, although dusted, weren't done thoroughly). I figured I'd wait and see what happened with initial clean B. I was still disappointed after initial clean B because the blinds were still not done to my satisfaction, and there were still some cobwebs in the same places where they were left after clean A (I intentionally didn't remove them as a test). Although with both Clean A and Clean B, the staff removed the trash, neither one removed the recyclables. The good news is that, after I contacted the company, they offered to come out (though we never actually scheduled a visit from the manager) and I was offered a free cleaning (assuming I continued using the service -- which I have). I have since had the "free" cleaning and the service was much better. I think, after I mentioned the issues I had, specifically with the blinds and the cobwebs (I should note that the house had been vacant for a while before I moved in) there was special attention paid to these areas. And the recyclables were also removed along with the trash. And the dishes in the sink were also done! So, although I never saw the manager after my initial complaint, it is clear that the message was taken seriously and the staff alerted to what they needed to do. I will continue to use the service - for now - but will certainly be monitoring to see if any changes will be needed in the future.

We do not typically do dishes or empty the recycling, so someone went above the call of duty on that particular visit. While it is great that employees go above and beyond, it does set us up for disappointment when another team does exactly what they are supposed to do! We appreciate the feedback.

Description of Work: When this company first started cleaning my house, they were great. But after about a month or two, they would come at the end of the day, would be in a hurry just to get it done and get out! But the quality of cleaning is not there. I could have had my two young sons do a better job. Would not recommend to anyone!!!

We apologize for letting this customer down so severely. After receiving her non-descriptive "I quit" e-mail, we attempted to reach the customer to work out whatever had went wrong. I guess she was so frustrated by the experience that she did not want to return our message, so we ended up e-mailing her an apology and mailing her a refund for the price of her final two cleans. She was the final house on a team's schedule for fifteen cleans after the "first month or two" she alluded to in her review. Because she liked us so much at the beginning of our relationship, I have to believe her that the quality was inferior before she quit. I hope the comment about her two sons being better than us was made purely out of frustration, or we really did do a poor poor job. Despite winning the 2012 Super Service Award and our franchisor's "Mark of Excellence" award annually, we still disappoint people about 1-1.5% of the time. Near the end of our relationship, my customer service manager and office manager were aware of her frustration with our late arrivals. We did leave her a message the clean before last offering to work out an earlier ongoing timeframe, but given that she did not return that call, either she did not get the message or she was too frustrated to care at that point and planned to quit after the next clean irregardless. Still, I feel our efforts fall in the "too little, too late" category and I am disappointed in our failures to clean to our promised standards. I hope the customer takes my e-mail apology (and refund) to heart and walks away with a less bitter taste in her mouth over this situation, because given that this is our first "F" rating, she was obviously very upset. The positive reviews from people on here caused me to contact this company, and I'll admit that my initial time with them was like the reviews. They were thorough, prompt, and considerate. Throughout the interview/estimate process I explained about the dogs and how i thought it would have to work. During the initial consultation process they told me I would have a 10:15 AM slot once a week on a specified day. I arranged my work schedule, the putting of the dogs in the basement, coming home just after the cleaning was finished to let the dogs out. All of that assuming, as they initially told me, that I had a regular spot. And we had gone over the need for this given the dogs and all. My first glowing reaction to their work has steadily deteriorated, and I'm not sure of the reason why. However, three times since then they have simply "decided" to do my house at 1 PM or 2 PM without even warning me of any change. The first time this happened, I called and complained. I was told there was "no restriction" marked in my record. I asked could they please either mark that I had to have a morning time OR they had to notify me by phone that something had changed so I could know what time to come home and let the dogs out and feed them. I said it didn't really matter to me as long as I didn't come home and let the dogs out and THEN have them show up. I just had to know before I got home. They said they would put "morning only" in my account. On October 10, I arrived home at my normal 1:30 PM to find they were just beginning. I hadn't let the dogs out, so I put up with it because they were there and had begun, and I couldn't see freaking out about it, the ladies were just trying to do their jobs. On October 17, I got a call at 12:40 that my burglar alarm was going off. (In addition to everything else, since they started coming weekly in June, the number of times I have arrived home to find the house both locked and the burglar alarm set when they left is exactly: once out of all those weeks. On October 17, not only was the burglar alarm going off, the front door was totally unlocked-- neither the knob button nor the deadbolt had been put into locked position.) Then on Saturday, October 20 I got a letter that the two ladies I had met and spoken with as they cleaned my home had been dismissed for stealing. This is a big issue in itself as you can imagine, since they have had access to my key and the burglar alarm code (which was easy to change, but that doesn't really solve the anxiety issue.) I was told I'd be assigned a new team and arrived home today at 1:50 PM . They hadn't even been there at all. No call. They don't have someone in the local office, so you call and get the national office and they have to try to get someone to call you back. When I called national office, they said that the workers had just clocked out of their previous job and would be here soon. I just cancelled for today because I am so frustrated with how difficult it is to get them to understand the situation. Four phone calls (2 about the burglar alarm/house unlocked and 2 about the timing of their visits) have failed to bring any changes. While I think their workers do a wonderful job and I told them so and I am very, very thankful for having them each week, I cannot seem to get them to understand about the timing or the fact that if they find the house locked and with the burglar alarm set, they should leave with the house locked and the burglar alarm set. 11/8/12 Update. I was contacted on November 5 and I did feel like it was a reasonable conversation. Unfortunately there is no "going forward." After discovering on 11/6/12 that items had been stolen from my basement (where no cleaning person had any need to go, in fact the dogs are kennelled down there and I had asked them not to even open the basement door) and prescription pills had been stolen from my bathroom drawer (Vicodin from my knee surgery, I only used a couple and the rest were in the drawer, they took the pills out of the bottle leaving just three in there,) I just feel like I cannot continue with this company. Yes, it could have been simply bad luck. Yes, you can't control employees when they're in someone's house totally unsupervised. But when trust is lost, it's quite difficult to regain. And I simply don't trust this company any more.
Description of Work: Weekly cleaning of my home. 1600 sq. feet. Just interior cleaning, no windows, no laundry, no making of beds or doing of dishes.

We have had a constructive conversation with this customer and hope to have all problems resolved going forward. As the owner, I should have been aware of these problems sooner. I was not, and really have no one to blame but myself. We should have both his appointment timing problem and door lock / alarm problem resolved. We will actually use the door lock / alarm problem as a learning tool in our next weekly all-staff meeting. We appreciate this customer giving us the opportunity to correct the problems we were having.

We just had all our floors and carpeting replaced, so I wanted to hire a cleaning company to give our house a good cleaning as there was a ton of dust from the remodeling. I contacted the Cleaning Authority because of the good reports on Angies List and after playing a little phone tag made an appt with the owner to come out and give me an estimate. Mike was very nice, asked me exactly what I wanted to have done and gave me a reasonable estimate. I called the next day to set up an appt which fit my schedule. Unfortunately, the day of the cleaning my daughter became ill and I had to cancel at the last minute. The person I spoke to was very nice and said he would have someone call to reschedule. I was able to schedule 2 days later which was wonderful. The team that was scheduled to come to my house were running a little late, but I was notified of the approximate time they would be there. The 2 teams that showed up did a great job cleaning. I'm generally a little picky, but overall was very impressed with their work. This was a one time cleaning job as I can't afford to do this on a monthly basis, but I would defintely use them again when needed.

The service was great. We liked them. They used Eco-friendly products which I liked. If we ever had issues we could call them and they would quickly resolved the issue.
