Description of Work: I have used Terminix for over 10 years for my yearly pest control. I pay for the service yearly. If ever I have a problem in between quarterly visits, they come out at no charge. Certain bugs are not covered and may cost extra. I have not had any bug issues for the duration of the time they have serviced my home.

Description of Work: The house was inundated with carpenter ants. It took over a month of weekly visits to find the source and destroy the hive. This was part of my annual service for insect protections. The intervention of the supervisor was required for both he and the technician working together to eliminate the carpenter ants.

Description of Work: We have had Terminix for years. Our contract is the old one where Terminix is responsible to make repairs due to termites. Terminix always comes to inspect and will come as often as we request, however they have never found any termites or evidence of damage. We have had termite damage two times in the same location. The first time we had damage we were replacing a Garage door due to what we thought was a broken spring. It was termite damage. Our dining wall which is shared with the garage, was damaged and had to be replaced (I have pictures) from the floor to as high as seven feet. The area involved covered the entire wall and around on the adjacent wall. The damage was found the second time when I had carpet re-stretched in one corner. The subfloor was damaged in that corner due to termites. I can't say I would have hired the contractors who completed the work as the quality was not up to my standards ( and I look everything up on the internet for the best method of repair). They were supposed to have the job completed in a week and it was not completed for a month! Needless to say, we feel we have to keep Terminix now and they will not allow us to do other methods such as place the bait containers out in the yard without voiding this contract, which I'm sure they would like to do. And so our relationship with Terminix continues...

Description of Work: Cellulose insulation installation in my attic. Better price and quality of service than other bids and providers. I was impressed with the dealings I had with the technician who came out to the house to inspect and quote a price. I would use again and recommend.

Description of Work: Annual termite inspection and treatment. Poor scheduling. Scheduled service without contacting me, then just left me a voicemail the day before they planned to arrive. I did not have a chance to reschedule, but I could not be home at their arrival time.

Description of Work: They maintain and replace bait traps when needed. Check for termites.

Description of Work: As part of annual contract, the service rep comes to the house on limited schedule to check the bait in the traps located around the perimeter of the house. If a trap is missing (from lawn work or other problems) the trap is replaced. We have found old traps as we remodel the yard, and the service person works out the placement between old and new to provide accurate coverage. We have not had termite problems since the traps were placed. My big complaint is that the number of visits has decreased, yet the price remains the same or higher. Because our home backs up to woods, and because we had termites in the house prior to Terminix service, we have continued to renew the annual contract, albeit reluctantly.

Description of Work: Regular preventive treated for bugs. This was a new tech and he was not as thorough as previous techs. We have not spoken to main office yet, but will if service does not improve. Prior techs' service has been very good.

Description of Work: We have used Terminex for termite control since 1975. They provided the initial treatment and no further treatment has been needed. They provide an insurance policy with an annual fee which keeps going up in price. The cost is now $230 per year. They also provide an annual home inspection at no cost. |Three years ago we agreed to hire them for insect control but when they sent the contract it contained a provision which stated that they were not responsible for any damage they do to the home. I offered to sign the contract if I could cross out that provision but they refused so I did not |hire them for that service. I can't imagine any company who would put that type of restriction in their contract. I guess they feel that most people will not read the contract.

Description of Work: They sprayed completely both inside and outside the house and have done so monthly for 20+ years. They are prompt and professional with exceptionally friendly and helpful service people. Wish I could say the same for my other vendors.

Description of Work: We have used Terminix for many years. They treated the house when it was built in 1968 - and the previous owners stopped the service. We resumed the service around 1986. For years we have had the same service technician. They have been reliable - and the service has been effective.

Description of Work: We've used Terminix for years and they did a better job at keeping passout in our previous service with Orkin did. The bag grade I'm giving them, in the reason I'm canceling my service with Terminix has to do with our direct knowledge of what I considered to be severe ethical issues with the way the company treats its employees. My brother-in-law was a service provider for them out of the same local offices, and work very long days and on weekends to keep up his route. His route included some very dangerous areas and that he did his job. One day when spraying down below of porch he experienced a severe head injury. Since that happened - on the job, this company has done everything they can to avoid paying for his Workmen's Compensation. I own a business myself and I understand what Workmen's Compensation is for - it is for when people are injured on the job and they depend on it for food and housing in their livelihood - Terminix could have cared less about this and treated this man that worked 60 and 70 hour weeks for them, often in very bad areas, like he was pulling some sort of a scam. They should be ashamed of themselves. I hope that Angie's list leaves us up and recognizes that rating companies is not just about rating the service to their customers but that how they treat their employees is critical to well-rounded service. And if a company can't treat its employees right how can I trust them as a customer to be fair to me if I have an issue.
