SuperDave The Handyman

As usual, SuperDave did a great job. He came out right away when I told him I was planning to go out of town and was afraid to leave without having the leaking toilet repaired. Dave gave me a preliminary estimate over the phone and scheduled a visit the next day, a Saturday. He came with the materials he needed and got right to work. Everything looks and works perfectly and I can make my trip without stress. Thanks, Soop!

I contacted Super Dave requesting an estimate for some carpentry work and weather protection for my deck. He showed up the very next day and gave me a very reasonable price. Very friendly and knowledgeable crew that arrived and got right to work at the scheduled date & time. They spent the first day replacing several boards and performing some fairly challenging carpentry tasks. Then a thorough power washing -pergola to lattice work- that included the vinyl siding! They did a very nice job and it looked GREAT! They were planning on letting it dry for a day or two but, unfortunately, it rained for the next 10 days. Super Dave kept in contact with me throughout that time frame and when we got a break in the weather, he fit me into his schedule right away. They spent two days painting the woodwork and spreading plenty of product in all the nooks and crannies for total and complete coverage. Nail holes were filled and they put a second coat on the heavy trafficked deck's surface. As an extra and unexpected bonus, they took down accent brackets and hangers and spray painted them with a nice black paint before reinstalling! After the job was complete, Super Dave contacted me to ensure everything was in order. He was insistent that we were 100% satisfied before he considered the job finished. We are impressed and highly recommend Super Dave and his crew to perform work around the house!

Super Dave was very punctual and was quick to come by and provide an estimate for power washing and staining my deck and fence. He kept me very informed throughout the process. In addition he communicated well with my neighbor as the deck runs up against their yard. I am very happy with the end work, the deck looks really good and the stain is visibly protected from the rain. Super Dave was very professional and I would hire him again.

Started work one week after accepted bid. Arrived on time and reviewed work order and paint color selections. Gave overview of how/when work would be completed. Estimated one week to finish. Dave and crew arrived by 7:30 every am; called or followed up in evening with any questions or updates. Work was completed in one week and I was extremely happy. Dave has done work for me in the past and I continue to call him because he is reliable, does great work, keeps the mess to a minimum, and I trust him. I did not have to take any time off work because I can leave my keys knowing my house is in good hands. I will definitely call him for my next home project.

Dave and Charlie did a wonderful job on the cove ceiling at my parents' house. The plaster work really is beautiful. It looks like there was never any water damage. The light fixture over the front door would short out when it rained. Dave rewired it, hung a new fixture and sealed it properly to take care of the short. It works perfectly now. The paint looks perfect. They even patched areas around the door and vents that needed it. They do a great job. Their craftsmanship was exceptional. They were respectful and careful with my parents' home and belongings. We are very impressed with this company and will definitely use them again.

My ceiling repairs are perfect. The final result was better than I had even imagined possible. Dave and Charlie repaired the hole in my living room ceiling and the water damage in a bedroom ceiling and matched the existing plaster exactly. They even took the time to smooth out and blend in an old plaster repair done by a different company to make it look better. After painting the ceilings, the repairs truly are seamless. They were meticulous in their work and in keeping my home clean and my things protected while they worked. They were both very professional and thorough. I can recommend SuperDave without reservation. In fact, they will be doing some repairs at my parents' home. I will definitely call them first for any home repairs I have in the future. Our kitchen faucet and sprayer had been leaking for months and we finally decided to replace the set with a new unit. We ordered the unit and picked it up at the supply store - two days later Super Dave arrived and made quick work of removing the old unit and connected the new one to the water lines. Works great with no leaks. Dave also hung a keep sakes display cabinet on the wall above a pull-down desk. It had been in my father's home and we wanted to keep it. Dave showed us how it used a "French Cleat"method to hang the cabinet securely Dave had all the accessory hardware needed to securely put four screws in the plaster wall and carefully checked everything so the cabinet would hang level. Actually hanging the cabinet after the preparation took less than thirty seconds. These two tasks weren't major projects but Dave's experience certainly made it look straightforward.

SD arrived on time, gave bid and set up a date to begin. Very pleasant , very professional. start of project through completion went very smooth. Amazing, organized, great crew, I was very satisfied and pleased ; the finished job was beyond my expectations! Absolutely no mess, no fuss! The bookshelf SD made looks so beautiful. Everything looks beautiful. Nice feeling, and a relief to have a multi talented contractor as my contractor!!!!!

SuperDave was very professional from the start. His professionalism, communication and fantastic handling of my home and family was excellent from beginning through the end of the job. I can't say enough about the attention to detail and quality Dave gave to everyone and everything involved. I will be hiring SuperDave again.

Dave called two days ahead to confirm the work to be done and explained when his team would arrive (730 AM). Charlie arrived promptly on the day of work (actually a few mins early) and got right to work. He removed the old door and discussed design/work approach with me. Work included use of a historical door cut down to correct size, woodworking to fill holes/gouges, the inserting of a decorative screen, adding of hinges/ door knob, painting as well as precision hanging/adjustment of the door into a non standard opening. The SuperDave team was not intrusive and sensitive to make numerous work calls throughout the day. They were fast (done by early afternoon) and clean (all mess cleaned up before they left). I have been using SuperDave for nearly 20 years and he has never let me down. Quality is always great for a fair price. He is not the cheapest but you get the craftsmanship and reliability you pay for! Thanks again SuperDave for another job we'll done. Look forward to the next time!

SuperDave truly lives up to his name. I contracted with SuperDave to restore the wood window frames that were deteriorating. SuperDave arrived on time to bid on the project, described exactly what he could do to restore the frames, and detailed everything on paper. He's an extremely busy man (now I know why), but he was able to fit us in. I received other bids as well, but am so glad I waited for his schedule to open up. Not only did he fix the windows, he went the extra mile and painted and caulked the metal frames. They look AWESOME; like new windows! Will definitely bring him back for more work.

Very prompt and efficient. Fit me in right away. I added a last minute job he was able to do immediately for me.

Besides the window, they removed and replaced rotted wood trim on the outside. They took a piece of the old wood and got paint to match. They also repainted and caulked the existing framing on the inside. They cleaned up thoroughly and were finished in about 5 hours.

I really wish I would have taken a ?before? picture of the side like I did the front. You can no longer see my neighbor's house from the inside of my garage, and I can put things on the floor again without them getting wet when it rains. Whenever Dave has done work for me, he always seems to do more than he bid on and only charges me what he bid. The window frame and sill were completely rotted, and he completely rebuilt them both to where it is water tight. He even cleaned the window too. After seeing what he did to my garage, I think he picked the perfect name; he is SuperDave.

I was at work the day Dave and Charlie painted it, and when I came home and pulled into my driveway, I was so pleased, my response was a big ?WOW?. Two days later, I am still in shock. It looks like a totally different garage (see before and after pictures). Thirty years ago there was an eagle on the front of the garage. One time when we painted, we didn?t put it back up. I really do not think that I said anything to Dave about there being an eagle up there before, but if you look at the after picture, it?s there. He saw it on the shelf in the garage and hung it up where it was 30 years ago. I was thinking about hanging it back up there when he got done, but now I don?t have to. Anytime I need a handyman for something, Dave will be the first one I call.

We've gone with Super Dave on past projects and he was the first person we called when our neighbors (total of four properties) were considering getting new back yard fences. SD and his carpenter Charlie arrived together on a Sunday when all the neighbors could meet. We presented our wants on fencing, and SD discussed options about how we could approach the job. Then SD and Charlie spent time with each neighbor, talking about their needs and taking measurements. We separately received estimates within days, with each estimate broken out so that neighbors could see both shared and individual costs. We also sought out estimates from a second fencing contractor to better gauge cost and extent of work. Each neighbor independently decided to go with Super Dave. SD had previously done some fencing for my wife and I, while the second fencing company did a job for one of our neighbors. The neighbors met on a couple occasions to discuss pros and cons of each company's estimates and compare the quality of work previously accomplished by the two contractors; SD was clearly superior in quality and workmanship. We each contacted SD to write the contracts and start the work, and he was on site building the first fence within days. Over the next ten days, SD and his crew went from house to house rebuilding fences and sealing them when finished. SD, Charlie, and the crew were professional throughout the project, and the quality and care they put into building our fences are clearly evident. These gentlemen are skilled craftsmen who can assess tough building situations and develop creative solutions; this was especially evident in the gates they installed that required complete rebuilds, repositioning, and new hardware. It is safe to say that our fences will be solidly in place for many years to come. I can safely speak for the neighbors who went in on this project when saying that we love our fences! We are the envy of the neighborhood, with our shiny new solid fences making the older fences nearby look aged and shabby. Several neighbors have commented upon how great the fences look. I wish I could post to Angie's List some of the pictures we took of the finished fences, but since there isn't a photo sharing capability then I can only refer you to Super Dave's Facebook page. We certainly will be calling SD for future projects around the house. He is personable, trustworthy, and reliable. He knows that his name is on each project he bids and completes, and he takes pride in the quality of his work. Likewise, Charlie, Chris, and the others on Super Dave's team are professionals who care about the work they do. And they are just great guys to talk to whenever they take a break. The work never took place due to Super Dave never returning my calls.

Although there were some unforeseen complications which required more time and labor than was expected, SuperDave and his 3-man crew attacked these with ease and skill without raising the agreed-upon price. For example, about 20 feet of my garden along the fence line was raised enough that it would have impinged the bottom of the pickets. Instead of just cutting off the bottoms, the easy fix, they consulted me and we agreed that it would be better to dig away those several inches in the garden so that the pickets would be uniform. Dave then purchased 4 lengths of landscaping lumber and installed them in the created space. He did not charge me for these. You might find bids that are less expensive than SuperDave's, but you are not likely to find better workmanship or dedication.

I couldn't be more pleased with the work SuperDave and Charlie did. Dave came and looked at the jobs I had and explained what he could do and what he was not comfortable doing. I never felt he was trying to get me to commit to more than I needed. He immediately gave me an estimate, which he stuck to, even though he performed additional tasks (cleaned drains in the kitchen sink, bathtub, and shower) and added accessories (switchplates, lightbulbs, toilet seat). Dave and Charlie were always on time and worked quickly, cleaning up before leaving at the end of the day. The results? The bath and shower look new and the bathrooms are cleaner than they have ever been! The kitchen plumbing was corrected to stop leaks and the dishwasher was secured under the counter. On top of all this, Dave and Charlie were a joy to work with. They were both friendly, were good to my crazy mutt (Dave even walked him a couple of times), and shared Dave's delicious, home-grown tomatoes. I will definitely call them again -- after all, those pristine bathrooms are making the rest of the house look shabby!

Dave was very quick to respond to my message asking him to come and give me an estimate. When he came, after I told him what I wanted, he went out to his truck and came back right away with a detailed written estimate. After I told him I wanted them to do it, we scheduled it for the next week. Dave and Charlie are really super nice guys, and I am very pleased with the job they did, especially with what they had to work with. They even cleaned the windows, even the inside ones, which were not the ones they painted. They also did a very good job of cleaning up. There were no paint chips anywhere. I would highly recommend them and will use them again myself in the future. I gave them a C for Price in comparison to other bids. I thought it was fair for how bad the windows were. Also, I feel that you get what you pay for and that is why I chose Dave over lower bids, and I'm very glad I did.

Super Dave, his son (also Dave), and Charlie were an absolute pleasure to work with. I would and will hire them again - no question. Their estimate was fair and prompt, their work was speedy and of high quality, and they left the house cleaner than it was when they started work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Stop searching for a handyman - hire these guys today.

It went wonderfully--quick to respond to calls, showed up when promised, very high quality work. Definitely plan to use them again when we are ready to do some bigger projects.
