SuperDave The Handyman

Winter's extended cold, freeze/thaw cycles, and our use of salt to melt ice and snow caused large damage to the front entrance concrete steps and porch. We also had some plaster damage at one basement window in the finished part of the basement and a broken support on the couch. Dave arrived on time and immediately began work on the concrete. He had his partner Charlie worked on the plaster damage and together they reattached the couch back securely. By mid-afternoon they were done and all our items were fixed. It's nice to know that the small jobs can be done expertly rather than by my inexperienced self.

The work performed went "super" . I have used SuperDave in the past and always with great satisfaction. I have tried other contractors in the past and have always been disappointed in the quality of work performed, feeling like I got ripped off. NOT with SuperDave, he communicates very well and the work is always done to perfection. I feel a huge burden off my shoulders because i know what i am paying for and that i will get a quality job, on time in a very efficient manner. That is huge to me....if you want quality work, fair price, efficient and great communication and ease of mind I highly recommend SUPERDAVE. I am so pleased !!!!!!!!!

See above. It can be further noted that I had first tried him last summer but he was always "full" and taking no messages. I had waited until this spring, because he had had good reviews.

Super Dave and his crew are fantastic! I don't think I can find enough words to say how great they are. Dave returned my call right away and kept me well informed about my projects every step of the way. His crew is very nice and professional. They show up on time and clean up after themselves. In fact, they even cleaned out extra items in my basement and garage! A wonderful bonus I didn't expect. It looks like I just moved in. Dave also replaced a broken light fixture in my basement, something I didn't even mention. I have a few more projects I plan to tackle at the end of the summer and they will be my first call. Super Dave really goes the extra mile. Thanks Super Dave!

He never returned my phone call.

Had 3 bids -- his was lowest. Showed up as promised and worked was performed in the time promised. Worker cleaned up any debris and was professional in all respects. Would definitely use again

Unfortunately, our plans were delayed and when it came time to act on the projects, SuperDave was booked and unavailable. He was very apologetic and even referred us to another colleague. I would definitely use him in the future, however based on this experience I would recommend timing your project a few months out to allow for SuperDave's popularity and schedule. He is definitely THE Guy in handyman projects. I wish we could have used him.

My master bedroom walk-in closet was designed very poorly. Charlie removed all shelving and hanging rods and associated mounting material. He then added solid white wood shelves along with new hanging rods - virtually tripling the capacity of the closet. The work he did was incredible. He also patched up all the holes left in the walls where the old support brackets were attached, making it very easy to paint once the color was chosen. They were very prompt and extremely neat when they did the work and left the area immaculate. The pricing for re-designing the closet was very reasonable.

Charlie extended the existing walls on the side of the laundry room closet in order to fit by-fold doors at the front of the closet. Removing existing door frame, extending dry wall, adding new door frames, and adding and painting new doors and painting wall - both inside and outside laundry room closet. The size of the new washer and dryer prevented the old doors from remaining in place. Charlie figured out how to extend the walls and re-install the doors. The quality of the work was amazing and I am thrilled with the overall outcome. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable for the work completed.

A simple return call stating he was too busy would have been appreciated. At the minimum, I would have expected common courtesy from someone who has such rave reviews on Angie's List. Super Dave wasn't very super for me.

Charles arrived on time, worked efficiently, always sought our approval on work, made helpful suggestions, did an excellent job, and left points for later touch ups.

soffit and facia on house caused by wind damage and found and repaired underlying wood which was rotted. The yard is used extensively for growing Asian vegetables which uses many upright and horizontal poles with wire fencing for the vines. Dave repositioned all the posts and secured them creating a dome appearance. He also installed additional storage in the garage as well as a garden work bench. All this work was completed in approximately 2 weeks which exceeded our expectations. Contractor was always on time, cleaned up after themselves and we had no problems with paperwork like lien waivers. Would not hesitate to use contractor again.

We have used SuperDave before, and have always been pleased with their excellent work. Charles was always on time, and was very careful with our property. He wore shoe covers, and always did a good job of cleaning up after the work. He not only did the work, but also made helpful suggestions for us since we are not the handiest around the house. He left us with extra paint for later touch-ups. We would recommend SuperDave to others, and would not hesitate to use their business again. Superior work.

Superdave and his crew did a super-duper job on my house and yard. Dave provided estimates for a long list of repairs and we agreed that he would do about half of the jobs on the list. I felt that estimates for some of the paint jobs were a bit high, and Dave gave me specific advice on how to do the painting myself so I could save money. Not only did Dave and his guys do a great job on all the agreed-upon jobs, they also power-washed the front porch and cleaned up all the brush in my front yard for no charge! They arrived promptly at 8:00 and finished everything by 3:00 the same day and performed all the work competently and efficiently. I have no reservations in highly recommending Superdave and his crew.

Therefore, we contracted someone else and they returned our call on the afternoon of the same day. We explained our situation and are scheduled to come out this week for the repairs.

They were prompt to return my call and come out to look at the work to be done. They arrived on time. Charles and David, Dave's son, came to do the work. Charles and David were great to work with and considerate of our family's needs. They even went the extra mile and came a week before their scheduled work to repair the dishwasher which he knew was much needed. He wasn't able to fix it that day because of a part, but it was very much appreciated that he came out of his way to help. He even went and bought the parts so we didn't have to. The work was completed within two days and Charles explained, in great detail, exactly what they were doing and took extra time to explain any changes that needed to made. There were some changes which had small costs associated with them, but Charles refused to increase the quoted price, even though we were willing to pay. We were so happy with them in every aspect of this and will definitely be using them again.

He was great, very professional, pricewas fair, and did a fine job.

Some of the metal fittings that attach the deck posts to the concrete deck needed replacement. The work was done well and quickly.

Talked with Dave and he came by the next day to assess our problem. Our 30 year old bathroom wooden medicine cabinet door was hanging partially loose because old glue had failed on the frame it was attached to and potentially could come completely off the cabinet box, fall and break the mirror. So it needed to be repaired ASAP! SuperDave described how he would repair it and did the work on the spot in less than half and hour using a bead of glue and two nails that aren't visible when the door is closed. Good as new now. Dave wouldn't accept payment, saying it was thank-you for many years of being a customer. Thanks, Dave!

From the very beginning, Super Dave was quick to respond to all phone calls and emails and once a bid was accepted, began work that same week. He and his crew were all punctual, professional and unfailingly polite. Not only did they do a fantastic job, but they finished a day ahead of schedule. They were very careful to keep the house clean during the process and even brought our" dog a bone on the second day! From the husband: Our house was built in 1913, and nothing is square. Super Dave and crew did an amazing job adjusting to the "character" of our home. I was very impressed by how clean they kept our home, and even more impressed by the speed and quality of their work. Super Dave and crew were very professional and polite and I will welcome them into my home again for future projects.

All the work was done well, and for that I am grateful. I only think that it was much more expensive than it should have been.

Based on the extent of damage, Dave immediately made our roof a priority to fix (even though he had other estimate appointments to complete). Dave decribed in detail and showed why the damaged occurred (based on the work from the original builders). Also, Dave went the extra mile by visting numerous stores in the area to closely match the original shingle color and size. Even though we were fine with something close, Dave stressed the importance to make sure our shingle colors matched which shows his dedication to perfroming quality work.

. We've been trying to do that ourselves for years without success. It was painted and textured to match the rest of that area...another issue we had trouble with. A cracked area above our sliding door was also repaired and painted to perfection. Tiles were added around a bathroom sink that we had just removed wallpaper from. Charley did a nice clean job with that. And calking was replaced around the kitchen counter...even better than the original installers! All these small projects add up over time and it was wonderful finding someone to cover them all in a single day. It was a miserable, rainy day and they arrived with tarps to cover all the flooring they would be walking on and working around. They did wonderful work, offered to help hang a couple of paintings while here, were communicative and pleasant from 1st visit through the final clean up. Dave even called the following day to see if all looked good and up to our approval. He offered to return if any further issues developed around the work they had completed. That follow up call meant a lot to us because it proved that they stood behind all their work. Now I know how Dave came up with the name "Super Dave" because the work, the pleasant demeanor, the clean up and follow up, the entire experience was super. We are thankful to have found him on Angie's List and would certainly recommend Super Dave to anyone needing extra help with those nagging repairs and fix ups around their home.

He's fantastic. I never go anywhere else. He is wonderful. He did the work perfectly as always. He does exactly what he promises and always on time. He gives us the exact price. He does what he says he will do when he says he will do it for the price he quotes. I will definitely continue to use him.
