It went great. I did not pay anything more.

I wouldn't have used them to do the air-conditioner if they hadn't done a good job.

Smarthouse came out very quickly (on a very hot day) and provided excellent information and fixed the problem the very next day. We had a follow up issue that needed to be resolved and Tim at Smarthouse could not have been more responsive. He came out THAT day...in 100 degree weather and spent hours investigating the issue, which he resolved. He also followed up the next day to make sure we had not had additional problems. He was at our house until 7pm! He was extremely professional. The company offers a unique, analytical approach to heating & cooling and they know their stuff to say the least. We were also very happy with the extremely reasonable price. We would use them again in a heartbeat!

SmartHouse was easy to deal with, especially via email. The other vendors (Inman and Averill) were unresponsive via email. SmartHouse was low pressure during the bidding. They probably could have been just a little more consultative. For example, we don't have a second floor return, and a thermostat with remote sensor definitely should have been a suggestion. Their pricing was flexible, and they were open to adjustments based on other pricing estimates (dropping the price on the air filtration upgrade). HVAC installation went smoothly, even in our older home. Finish quality was a little hasty (handler insulation caught in a side cover, incomplete sealing, and a small pile of debris from the flume sealing), yet SmartHouse was quick to address the issue. They really seemed to care about our satisfaction. The rim joist sealing was perfect. Great, personable tech that got the job done with no issues. This procedure has made a big difference and is highly recommended. Post installation support has been excellent. I can't speak highly enough about how thorough and helpful the email interactions were with SmartHouse. There is one staff member in particular that sealed this deal and has made every interaction a pleasant one (their initials are SS, and I hope SmartHouse treats them very well). Regarding the previously mentioned thermostat issue, we ended up going with an ecobee3 unit with remote sensor that SmartHouse swapped out for free (we purchased online and they handled the installation & testing). Overall, we are very pleased with Smarthouse's services. The system works flawlessly and SmartHouse has always resolved any issues quickly and professionally.

Scott and [unfortunately I forget the second man's name] were right on time. They were happy to explain what they were doing when it became clear that I had no idea how my own HVAC system works, and they were even careful not to wake up someone who was sleeping downstairs. They also honored the price I had been quoted over the phone, even though they could have charged an extra $20 for having to use a ladder to access the unit I have on the roof. I think the price was some sort of special deal, but I'll still go with them next time.

I would give them an A for the guy that came and did the service and the fact that he didn't give me a run around about the additional work that he wanted to do. If I hadn't known any better I would have spent another $100 I didn't have to spend. He said you need a new capacitor and it will be $110. I asked him how much a capacitor costs and he said $6. I asked him if I could just unplug the one in his hand and plug a new one in and he said yes. I asked him if I could handle that on my own and he said yes. I got a capacitor for $6 and I plugged it in myself. He was nice and answered my questions truthfully so that I can save the $100. Someone else might have not told me. I just said hold that thought and I went and looked it up on the computer.

Before installation they used a heat loss finder to point out areas needing more coverage After the installation they refused to repeat that process to show that the coverage was successful.

While doing the routine service, they got suspicious about something, then actually discovered a dead bird inside the pipe which comes into the basement from the flue! It was blocking air flow, and could have been a dangerous situation. We are thankful they were so thorough.

They never returned my call so I had a different company come out.

He did a great job of not only providing the service described but explaining each detail to me and answering all my questions.

Luke was punctual and very pleasant. He told me a part would be needed in the future, but I elected to have it replaced that day. I purchased a deal through Angie's list for 49.00 and the part was an additional 112.00. I would use smart house again.

It went great. The serviceman contacted me 1/2 hour before he arrived to let me know what time he would be here. He was courteous and friendly. His name was Lucas and he was very professional and knowledgeable. I watched him as he worked and he showed me what he was doing every step of the way. He told me that I was putting my filters in backwards and I really appreciate that he pointed that out to me since I had no idea I was doing it wrong. He told me that everything is working fine and gave me some information on his company's maintenance plan. No hard pressure. Very pleasant experience.

Mark inspected our attic and made recommendations. He felt that some of the improvements we could handle ourselves. His company sent us a proposal for the improvements as well.

Everything went great, no issue at all. Will certainly call them again if needed.

To be up front with this review ... I've used SmartHouse many times before and plan to continue to do so ... Based upon my past experiences, they make a serious effort to build a rapport between the firm and their customers since they seem to make a real effort to be sure the same tech that makes an initial service visit is the same tech the gets scheduled for any future calls. Stephanie quickly established a time for a tech to come out .. Very customer oriented ... Luke, the tech, arrived within the quoted time frame ... He performed a through inspection including checking all the operating voltages, combustion air mix, & internal pressures The tech also disassembled & cleaned the burners & flame sensors. When he was finished, he even emailed a results recap of the tuneup service call to my email account. Bottom line, they did a superb job!

The blower test ($200) was a waste of money. The intent of the blower test was to understand where there were leaks into and out of the house. The outcome was very disappointing. The very brief report was a bunch of very expensive projects that Smart House could do for us. Had to ask multiple times for other places there were leaks and any low cost improvements that could be made. The only response was a generic "caulk all windows" and without any specifics. The attic insulation was OK, done on schedule. However, now am uncertain if the money spent was worth it.

It went very well the technician showed up on time and they were very professional and courteous I was also given a military discount I plan on upgrading my HVAC system soon and I will be using this company to do it.

From the very beginning, this company has been responsive, punctual, and communicated very well. The owner came out to evaluate our home system and problem with upstairs being hot. He answered all my questions and gave me very practical and honest answers. We proceeded to start the process to replace our units. They make their recommendation on which systems to install based on testing, which I was happy to hear after everything I read. After lots more questions, we made the decision to proceed with the installation. Their office is very professional. They were responsive to answer my questions. The actual installation went smoothly. They were very professional. Cleaned up after the job. Gave excellent practical advise afterwards. Overall, I was very happy with their company, and I plan to use them for future jobs and projects.

Provider showed up promptly at the appointment time and immediately got to work examining the furnace. The unit is fairly old and they immediately made note of that. They tested and adjusted all the necessary parts, and noticed one part which needed replacements. Quoted a price on the spot however also mentioned that the part could be obtained for a significant discount from any local home / hardware store and replacement was fairly easy. PROS: Reliable- showed up right at the appointed time Honest- Let us know about the actual price of the replacement part and that it was an easy replacement Professional- My parents were the ones who were at the house and and they commented that the technician was very professional Overall would definitely use them again and will most likely use them to do my A/C tune-up come next spring.
