As I said, the estimate was done promptly but that was it for now until we decide to have it done.

The technician was very nice, explained every step of the process and made me aware of potential issues with our furnace in the future. He seemed honest and actually cared about the long term care of our system. Other companies we've used in the past made you feel like you are one of their 10 appointments for the day and that any extra tips or advice will cost extra. I usually feel ripped off by the time a furnace technician leaves, not this time though.

After performing a seasonal inspection and updates to heating and cooling systems, SmartHouse diagnosed a cracked heat exchanger in our furnace - which had not been in working order for about three weeks by that time - and offered a bid. The bid turned out to be the most expensive of five for furnace replacement. Although their service was professional and conscientious, we decided to accept the lower bid of a more local contractor.

When the appointment was set it. They showed up on time, covered the floor with tarps, was very clean and had the furnace installed fast. We went with the upgraded furnace, and we have notice a huge difference in the heating of our home. I recommend them 100% when they came out to do a service call and to check our furnace out he took photo's and you could see the cracks. We have been very lucky that nothing serious ever happened in our home. Very professional and very polite. This is my first time that I have ever used Angie's List and I will continue to use her recommendation. Very pleased.

First floor seemed to go fine, could not easily get to the heat exchanger out so the tech used a camera that he said was new to inspect with. Not sure what he was looking at but he said everything looked good and the "A" coil looked clean. My concern was what appeared to be his lack of experience with the camera. The second floor unit was taken apart. The blower was removed and the heat exchanger inpsected using the same camera, it just appeared easier to get to the insides of the unit. All looked well and he commented the "A" coil looked clean also. After the tech left I was walking by the second floor unit and heard a humming sound coming from it that did not exist prior to the inspection. I called Smarthouse and they responded promptly with the same technician. He listened to the unit and said it was a transformer and they all make some noise. I explained to him that the unit did not make that noise prior to his inspection. His only comment was that they make a humming noise and if I wanted it replaced the cost would be $200.00.I told him I did not want to spend that money and commented again that it did not make that noise prior to his inspection and removal and replacement of the blower. He told me the first floor unit probably made the same noise, we went to check and it made/makes no noise at all. At this time he left. The second floor unit seems to work fine, it just now makes a humming noise that I walk by every day that did not exist prior to the inspection.

It went well. The gentlemen who came very professional and the tune up was super cheap.

They came out Monday to do a tune up on our furnace. By Saturday after the tune up the basement smelled like gas - this was very dangerous. We called Laclede Gas they found the thermo coupling that the technician had worked with was loose and they tightened it and solved the problem.

My furnace went out during a cold snap and I called multiple HVAC providers in the area including several who earned high marks on Angie's list. Some agreed to come out to give an estimate the same day. SmartHouse went a big step further. Stephanie who answered the phone was incredibly helpful, answered all my questions rather than tell me that I'd need to ask an estimator and she even gave me hard numbers for the replacement including labor. The owner of the company, Marc, came out and did the estimate the same day and was the only one who suggested that a load test would be a great thing to do before committing to a furnace in case the old furnace was mis-sized for the house. He could do the load test the next morning, have the furnace installed that day and would stick to the estimate I'd been given over the phone. I met with several other companies that day and all tried to upsell me items I know I don't need, none were getting me a furnace the next day, none suggested the load test, and none made me as confident in the company as Marc and SmartHouse did. The next day Steve, Justyn and Brad arrived on time to begin the load test and install. They were wonderful to deal with and worked hard to be sure the install was done correctly, the mess was cleaned up as they went, and they stayed until I was sure my furnace was working! I couldn't be happier with the experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone or to use them for other projects. Just a great experience from beginning to end! Luke did a top notch job, and he was very respectful and polite. He went the extra mile to ensure that the installation was correct and that everything was working properly before leaving. For the first time ever, we have properly humidified air in our house in the winter.

I've used this firm for several years including having a maintaince contract with them for my primary residence HVAC system ... Service/tune up call went very well as expected ... Tech called the let me know that he was in route.

from start to finish this is by far the best heating and cooling co.I have ever encounterd.stephania who scedulede the work(very pro and nice)scheduled the work couple weeks out.do to their over load of business,which I would rather whait for a excellent co.The tech luke called prior to coming and was right on time,Luke was very professional hard working,very knowlegable went above and beyond my expectations .He had all the state of art eq ,I would defintenly use this co.again and already gave their name to friends.

Great. Luke called and said he was on his way. He was neat, clean, professional and very knowledgeable. We discussed many different things as our furnace is over 19 years old but he said things looked good. I did have him replace the capacitor (? Turns fan on ?) as it's readings were a little low and it was the original part. It was my decision - he was not at all pushy - in fact if he had been, I would never use there service again Also signed up for SmartHouse "SmartCare Service Plan" to have AC checked in Spring and Furnace/humidifier in Fall. I have this done anyway, and price was extremely reasonable so only made sense for piece of mind. Also, I want to give kudos to the office staff. I spoke with Stephanie twice, and she should be cloned for other home service operations on "how to be the first Customer Contact representative of a business". She was pleasant, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Even her reminder call put a smile on my face. Her boss needs to give HER a raise!

The service provider did a good job. I purchased the Angie's List furnace inspection deal and they came promptly and performed the service described. The deal was good for the work performed.

Lucas was absolutely wonderful! He as professional, respectful, funny and answered all my questions! He even gave suggestions on how to improve the quality of my home humidifier and his opinions on other household appliances/projects. He informed me of the Energy Efficiency program and the annual maintenance package but was never pushy or trying to sell me on anything - just very informative and patient. Overall the service was VERY enjoyable and I am very happy I went with this company! Thanks Angie's List!

He arrived on time and was professional. He spent about an hour and half doing the job which seemed longer than the other A/C companies I have had check our furnace. That seems like a good thing. He advise on replacing one the condensers in our system. He pulled out the old condenser in front of me to show me how it was losing power. There was no pressure on purchasing the yearly tune up package that they offer. Just left the information with me to consider it down the road.

He did an inspection of attic and basement and ran a flow rate of air coming into the house. He gave a professional report and recommendations and costs for the suggested repairs. I was impressed by his work; however, we chose to wait and later chose another company for some of the repairs at lower costs.

Luke called before he arrived and was very professional and knowledgeable. He went right to work and did a thorough inspection and found signs of minor cracks in the heat exchanger. Smarthouse provided me with a quote for repair or replacement. I was very pleased with the work and knew the system would need replacement because of its age (1998).

As one of three different contractors I interviewed to do this job, Smart House was the most expensive, yet most professional and most knowledgeable of all three. The salesman, George, offered more advice to correct the loss of energy problems than just what he sold. I followed his advice to correct two other areas in the condo (Row Home) in addition to having his Company perform the work they suggested to be scheduled. I now feel very confident that we have completed the best possible solutions to improve the efficiency of both the heating and cooling ability of this Row Home. I'm now better prepared to finish the basement because proper insulation has been added above the concrete vertical wall.

The provider made it very easy to set up an appointment. The technician arrived on time and called prior to his arrival to confirm the appointment. The initial inspection took approximately one hour as the technician provided maintenance. During the inspection the technician explained that I had two cracks in my furnace's heat exchange (confirmed by two other companies). He took the time to show me the cracks in the heat exchange and explained the associated problems with the cracks. Finally, Smarthouse provided two quotes for installing a furnace. The quotes were in line with other competitors. I would consider using Smarthouse again in the future.

Overall, excellent experience. The tech came on time. Provided a detailed estimate. Did a great job. Will certainly use again.

The serviceman was polite and professional. He put more Freon in and gave me tips for keeping my system running. He knew what he was doing. I signed up for their maintenance plan.
