The tech showed up on time early in the morning as scheduled and worked all day and completed all scheduled work then replaced an outlet in the kitchen we had requested. All work was completed professionally and the tech even provided a new outlet cover. He cleaned up all materials and left the site in good condition.

From start to finish Schaeffer electric exceeded my expectations. From the start, i went out and got mulitple estimates and Schaeffer Electric was the low bid. Once we signed the contract they had their men on site within a week and the installation went smooth as butter. Everything worked out perfect and I couldn't be happier.

Paul called and let me know he would be arriving soon. He was very professional. I told him the problem we had with a new television installation and what I thought needed to be done (put on its own circuit). Instead of taking my inexperienced word for it, he said we needed to make sure a new circuit would fix the problem. So he spent almost 2 hours checking boxes, fuses, and outlets to attempt to diagnosis the problem. Although he could not immediately fix the problem he had suggestions and did not try to create a problem where none existed. I will definitely use Scheaffer electrical in the future.

Got a quote over the phone. Showed up on time to perform the work. Considering it was miserably hot, and the wiring needed to be done in an unfinished attic, I was unsure whether or not it would be able to be completed the same day, and I was totally OK with that. The company told me that up front. Again, I was totally understanding and OK with that. The guys got right to work and were very friendly and respectful of my house (putting down drop cloths, cleaning up their mess, etc.) I tried to stay out of their way, but they even humored me by chatting with me a bit while they worked. Some of the wiring was a little confusing (it seemed) but I don't think that was a lack of knowledge on their part, more like a lack of knowledge on the part of whomever did the wiring in my house! They never lost their cool or got frustrated, they worked right through. I expressed concern that they were getting too hot up in the attic (it was over 100 degrees outside), but they said they were OK. They made sure to check in with me and make sure that the switches were going in the way I wanted them to. I didn't have them install the ceiling fans (although I think they would of if I'd asked), because I knew my husband and I could manage that. Everything was great and now my house is so cool with my new ceiling fans. I will not hesitate to call them again if I ever have any need. I'm very very pleased with their work.

The owner came to do the estimate. He was very nice and willing to do the little jobs i needed done. Unfortunately, when I received the estimate it was for twice what everyone else had quoted me (I spoke with two other companies).

The experience was very good and the price was typical of electrical people.

Schaeffer sent out an electrician the same day I called. He was prompted, curious and completed his work in a very short time. We were pleased with the service.

Great. Brian bid the job. We scheduled the job, they pulled the city permit. Josh came out and put in the new service (inside and outside). They left me additional breakers for new kitchen circuts, dryer, range, water heater. They were very flexible working with my on my re-hab timeline. This is the second rental property I had them intall a 200 amp panel. Different guy, same quality work.

Having had much experience with Schaeffer Electric Co Inc. in my career as a trusted vendor/contractor, they were the logical choice when I needed electrical work done at my home. I made an appointment with Brian Schaeffer who arrived and discussed the scope of the work while picking our way through the construction already taking place in the back yard. I needed to have the service entrance and meter moved to accommodate a new sun deck. Brian took a few moments to look things over and then pointed out that it was probably a good thing we were d*** this since the location of the service entrance and meter were in violation of the electrical code and while we were under no obligation to move it, doings so would bring the service entrance up to code. He emailed me a quote/contract which I accepted. Work began about two weeks later since the deck was still under construction and we agreed that it would be simpler to let that project be finished first. The entire project took a day to complete. The electrician doing the work also pointed out that the new meter panel had a service disconnect built into it and four circuit breaker slots for any circuits that we may want to run outside. With a new deck being constructed at the same time this was very good news. He also drove a new grounding rod and took the time to balance the electrical load in the panel inside the home. His work was both expedient and thorough and he took the time to explain how the new equipment worked. The site was left clean and he didn't even mind the curiosity of my three beagles who felt they owed him particular attention since he was in "their" yard. A terrific job, Schaeffer. Thank you.

We were getting ready to sell our home built in 1926. We needed to update the electrical box to 200 amp and to have wiring rerouted through the studs and GFI outlets added around the house and outside. I called Schaeffer and Brian Schaeffer came out right on time. He listened to what I needed done and was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. He set up the date to do the work the next week. They arrived at 7:00 am sharp on the morning they said they would be there. Brian showed up with Jason, the electrician, to show him exactly what needed to be done. I really appreciate that Brian did that instead of sending the electrician out with just a work order. Jason, too, was very personable and worked hard getting the job done so we wouldn't be without power for too long. It took about a day and a half to complete everything. Jason had to put up with my dog that was not happy to have him in the house. He stayed pleasant and explained anything I had questions on. Sometimes it is uncomfortable to have workmen in the house, but Jason was great. I had to call Brian back because when the buyers had a home inspection done, the inspector had some vague questions about the electrical in our house. Brian returned to the house to make sure everything they had done was done perfectly (it was) and to answer the questions the inspector had about our older wiring. There didn't need to be anything done at this time, and he was very nice about just coming out to answer questions. We ran into one last little problem and had Schaeffer come out and do that job, too. It was a $210 job that involved grounding some outlets and rerunning wires. That was all fine, too.I can't say enough nice things about working with Brian and Jason, the electrician.

I thought the bulb was broken, but it turns out it was the light socket. I was very pleased with him. He did good work, he was cost effective, and very efficient.

I was pleased with the work--apparently getting the wires from the basement to the third floor in my 100-yr-old house was a bit tricky but the electrician did a great job. He was courteous, worked diligently and cleaned up afterwards. I gave a B on price as I thought it was a bit high, but he was "at it" for 3+ hours.

Jason arrived early and was one of the best contractors I have worked with. He was polite, helpful, and best of all - he worked his tail off all day!!!!

EXCELLENT!!! Ed arrived early to give us an estimate and I had the proposal by that afternoon. Valerie was professional in scheduling an appointment and when Josh, the electrician, showed up, he arrived a little early and got right to work. He knew exactly what we wanted and did a great job. I even made a mistake in the way I wanted the ceiling fans wired but it was no problem. Ed and Josh were about to work with me and get everything the way I wanted. Would highly recommend. Everyone was professional and courteous. Job was doing with 100% satisfaction.

Schaeffer Electric inspected the electrical panel in my new home and determined it was not upgraded correctly to meet the codes here in St. Louis County. They sent me a quote quickly after they visited my home detailing all the work that needed to be completed. It was clear and easy to understand what all needed to be done. They scheduled a day to come out and complete the work. The first day they scheduled ended up being very icy and snowy so they had to reschedule. They were scheduled to come out at 7 AM and I received a phone call right at 7 letting me know they would need to reschedule due to bad weather. The work was rescheduled a few days later. They dropped off some materials at my home the day before they came. The technician arrived promptly in the morning. He let me know ahead of time how long the electric would have to be turned off while they were working. He was finished by 4:30 pm the same day. The St. Louis County inspector came and competed the inspection while he was here that same day. We are very happy with the work that was completed.

We had a few issues with an apparenlty-disconnected subcircuit within our home. After trying unsuccessfully to diagnose the issue myself, I called Schaeffer. Their electrician showed up on-time and listened to my self-diagnostic intently before investigating the situation thoroughly himself (outlet by outlet, fixture by fixture). He was able to diagnose multiple issues that thankfully had relatively simple solutions. Seeing that I had a good understanding of electrical wiring, he was able to give me a list of things to do that would remedy the problem (to code) so that I could save additional time and money. Schaeffer honored the Angie's List coupon. I would absolutely trust this company again if I were to have another electrical need, big or small.

Updated 1964 electrical service to home. Great company to work with. Estimates were clear and then additional work was added over 2-3 month project. Great workers- cleaned up their messes and very pleasant to have around, especially Josh.

They did a fine job, the price came in right where they said it would, and there weren’t any problems. I would definitely recommend them. They were professional and it was any easy process.

The estimator arrived on time. It did take a few weeks to work out the estimate and schedule the work, and I had to call again to get a response, but otherwise everything was handled very promptly and professionally. The service man arrived as scheduled and did a great job. Everyone was very courteous.

Everything was great. Josh came out and he was a very nice man. He fixed the problems I had and answered another question that I had. The only problem that I had was that the receptionist that I'd spoken with the day before said they'd call before they arrived and they didn't. Other then that, everything was great.

Schaeffer Electric Company Inc were very good and completed the work. The employee was very prompt and professional. I have been using their services for some months now. The price is reasonable and fair. I would recommend their services. to anyone.

I reviewed Angie's reports before calling Schaeffer. I called them because there were two descriptions of complicated jobs - not just putting up a fixture or something simple. Our 60 year old house has conduit and over the years a lot of wiring has been replaced. One area in the breezeway and garage had not. Last week, some but not all of the circuits went out while others just seemed to have low voltage. My husband knows a little about electrical wiring. He said what was in the attic area was like spaghetti and that it needed a real professional. My husband turned off the breaker while we waited for someone to come. Matthew was the man who came early today and worked diligently for 3 hours. My husband was greatly pleased with the work he did and the reasonable charges. We will sleep good tonight knowing that old wiring is gone.

Very smooth transition from old to new. The electrician started at 7 AM and finished everything except the 2 new circuits in 8 hours. Then I had to wait about 3 weeks for the installation of the dedicated circuits (6/28/2011). The final inspection was on 7/7/2011. Ameren MO came about 3 weeks later to move the electric service connection to the house and validate the meter location. The only interruption to electric service occured during the installation of the circuit breaker box and removel of the fuse boxes. Overall, an impressive performance by the electrician and a relatively minor inconvience to me.

They were able to do all of this for me. They put in a couple of heavy duty outlets, fixed the exhaust fan in the bathroom. I'm going to have them come back to put in another outlet. Paul has been very cooperative. He seems to know his stuff and isn't pushy and doesn't seem to try and sell the company. I felt the work was done well and safely, he just knew what he was doing. He was also clean.
